Representing Australia in the Beijing Winter Olympics, financially doing it all on her own with sheer determination, sheer will and talent. Nordic skiing encompasses the various types of skiing in which the toe of the ski boot is fixed to the binding in a manner that allows the heel to rise off the ski, unlike alpine skiing, where the boot is attached to the ski from toe to heel. Recreational disciplines include cross-country
skiing and Telemark skiing.
Anyone who knows what is like to travel or compete on Nordi Skis understands how one needs pure marathon strength and a powerful mindset to become a champion in this sport. Racing in blizzard or whiteout conditions for 10-20 kilometres, and being able to complete sprint challenges. You need to have exceptional fitness, adaptability, the ability to handle freezing conditions, and inner strength and courage.
Casey, upon returning from the Japan Winter Olympics shares with us her epic journey and success. She also shares her love of the outdoors, natural landscapes, her future goals, and the importance of cross-training, maintaining a healthy mind, having supportive relationships, team collaboration, mentors and self-determination. What an absolute champion in more ways than one.
