Have you ever found yourself looking in all the wrong places for the strength you need? In this soul-stirring episode, we explore the profound wisdom of Psalm 121:1-2, where the psalmist poses a question that resonates across centuries: "I look up to the mountains. Does my help come from there?"

We dig into the historical context of this passage, revealing how travelers would scan the hills for shelter and protection during their journeys. This ancient reality mirrors our modern tendency to seek solutions in what we can see—our relationships, our financial security, our carefully laid plans. While these resources aren't inherently negative, they share a common limitation: they're all subject to change and failure. The psalmist pushes us beyond these temporal supports to recognize a far more reliable source: "My help comes from the Lord who made heaven and earth."

This simple yet profound truth reorients our entire perspective on life's challenges. When the mountains before us seem insurmountable, we're reminded to look beyond them to the One who created them. The God who formed the universe isn't limited by the constraints that affect every other source of assistance in our lives. Today, let this timeless wisdom lift your eyes from your circumstances to your Creator, from your problems to your Provider. Your help doesn't come from what you can see—it comes from the God who sees it all. Join our growing community at wisdomfortheday.org and discover daily spiritual refreshment for your journey.

Does my help come from there?
