Speaker 1 (00:00):
Some of us, we have
fathers who are present or they
are absent.
Some of us, we didn't grow upwith our fathers.
I am one of them.
I didn't grow up with my father.
So when I gave my life to Jesus, it was hard for me to accept,
(00:22):
it was hard for me to see, toview God as a father.
It was hard for me because, god, how can I call you father, how
can I see you as a father whenI don't have any earthly father
(00:44):
in my life?
When I read the scripture, wecome across this title of God
God is father.
Would you truly understand andbelieve that God is indeed a
father?
Some of you who were brought upin a home, whether it's mom,
(01:06):
whether it's dad, you will getit because your father played a
role in your life.
So it's easier for you to seeGod as a father.
If your father is of God, hewill display certain
characteristics that resemblesGod, display certain
(01:28):
characteristics that resemblesGod.
That is why God keepsemphasizing that you and I, our
goal at the end of the day is tobe like God.
It's to be like God, whateverGod is.
That's what God wants you and Ito be.
So how God helped me totransition my mindset, to
believe him and to see him as afather.
Is this through the song?
I don't know if you guys knowthe song, but it says behold
(01:51):
what manner of love the fatherhas given us, that you and I
should be called children of god.
I will sing this song to myself.
Speaker 2 (02:04):
Behold what manner of
love the Father has given unto
me.
Behold what manner of love theFather has given unto me.
Behold what manner of love theFather has given unto me.
(02:26):
Behold what manner of love thefather has given unto you.
Your manner of love.
The father has given that weshould be called the children of
God.
Behold, behold, what manner oflove the Father has given unto
(02:52):
us.
Behold what manner of love theFather has given unto us that we
should be called the childrenof God, that we should be called
children of God.
Speaker 1 (03:15):
One of your
identities is this you are a son
of God, you are a daughter ofGod.
Scripture reference is comingfrom John, chapter 1, verse 12
to 13.
Look what it says.
If you have your Bible, I wantyou guys to turn to John,
chapter 1, verse 12 to 13.
But as many as received him,but as many as received it,
(03:41):
which qualifies anyone, anyoneas many as received him to.
Then he gave the right tobecome children of God To those
who believe in his name, whowere not born.
So you being a child of God.
It's not a human, physicalprocess.
(04:02):
Jesus is going to explain to ushow we came about having the
right to be called children ofGod.
He explains the process here.
It states who we are born.
So you became a child of God.
It's not as a result ofphysical birth.
It's a different type of birthand Jesus is outlining that type
(04:25):
of birth.
It says who were born not ofblood.
That is he saying that a youare a child of God, not because
of your parents, not because ofyour mom and dad, not because of
any physical transaction.
It's as the result of what?
No, of the will of the flesh.
You didn't decide to makeyourself a child of God.
(04:46):
You didn't decide to callyourself a daughter of God.
You didn't decide to callyourself a son of God.
It is not your will.
It is not as a result of yourparents.
We need to understand this.
That is why salvation is veryimportant.
And it says not the will of man.
Your pastor cannot make youborn again.
Your pastor cannot make youborn again.
Your pastor cannot make you achild of God.
(05:07):
Your pastor cannot make you adaughter, son of God.
Not the will of man.
Three emphasis here not thewill of your blood parents, not
the will of yourself, not thewill of any man.
Oh, I love this, but look whatit says.
It says, but of god, powerful.
(05:31):
So you are a son and a daughter.
As a result of who?
God?
That should blow your mind.
What makes you to feel special?
It doesn't matter my height.
It doesn't matter my skincomplex.
It doesn't matter my height.
It doesn't matter my skincomplexion, it doesn't matter my
status in life.
I am of God.
I am a son of the living God.
(05:54):
John, chapter 8, verse 40 to 41.
But now you seek to kill me.
Jesus is so blunt.
He said okay, guys, you want tokill me.
Why do you want to kill me, aman who has told you the truth
which I heard from God?
You want to kill me because Itold you the truth that I heard
from God.
You want to kill me because ofthat.
(06:14):
You know that you can getkilled for speaking the truth.
When you speak the truth, people don't like you.
This is why people like you.
Because you lie.
People like you because you lie, but when?
Because you lie.
But when you are attentive toyourself, when you speak the
truth, some people that don'tlike you will leave.
We should start practicingspeaking the truth.
(06:36):
Amen and expect people are notgoing to like you.
But look what it says to thosewho believe Abraham did not do
this.
Oh, you call abram your father.
He didn't do that.
You do the deeds of your father.
Now jesus saying that I know whoyour father is because why are
(06:58):
you killing me if, if, if, youlove me, you won't kill me,
you'll be on my side?
We don't have the same father.
But jesus said I know who yourfather is.
Then they said to him we were,we were not born of fornication.
We have one father, god.
(07:19):
They have the audacity toinsult Jesus.
Can you imagine they say Jesus, you are a bastard, you are a
son of fornication.
Blasphemy, jesus, you are Okay,oh God.
The only people in the Biblethat Jesus was so hard on them,
(07:39):
jesus was fighting back, was thereligious people.
They were so religious sayingthat that, jesus, you are a son
of a bastard, you are a son offornication.
Jesus, you don't have a father.
Who's your father?
Joseph didn't birth you.
Mary conceived you with anotherman.
That was the insult on Jesus.
(08:01):
We're not like you, jesus.
We don't have a father.
You don't even have a fatherJesus You're talking to us about
.
Oh God, is your father?
Are you mad?
We know your history, we knowyour family.
I was laughing.
I'm like, wow, these peoplehave the audacity to insult
Jesus.
(08:21):
But look at the response ofJesus.
Jesus said to them if God wereyour father, you see, the
struggle was betweenrelationship with God.
That is the struggle Since Adamand Eve.
In Genesis, when Satan temptedAdam and Eve, questioned if they
(08:43):
were indeed made in the imageand likeness of God.
They failed that test and Satantempted Jesus twice, trying to
question, trying to place doubtin the mind of Jesus, saying
that, jesus, if you areconditional, if you are the son
of God, twice we strugglebecause of identity.
(09:04):
We struggle because of identity.
Are you sure you are a son ofgod?
Twice we struggle because ofidentity.
We struggle because of identity.
Are you sure you are a son ofgod?
If you are a son of god, why doyou live in a shelter?
If you're a son of god, why doyou work in the factory?
If you're a son of god, why areyou sick?
Jesus was the son of God.
He was still hungry.
That is the demonic questionthat Sita will put in your head.
(09:25):
If, if, oh, musumba, elder, elder, lydia, if you're a
daughter of God, why, why, whyPlace with your head for you to
question your identity?
So it's nothing new.
It's nothing new.
He did that in the garden.
He tried that with the secondAdam, jesus, and he's trying the
(09:47):
same thing with you.
Look what Jesus said If Godwere your father, you would love
me.
If God, if you claim that God isyour father, the God of Abraham
, isaac and Jacob, if that'syour God, you would love me.
You would love me.
You don't want to kill me.
Why do you want to kill me?
(10:09):
For I proceed forth and camefrom God.
Nor have I come of myself, buthe sent me.
Why do you not understand myspeech?
Because you're not able tolisten to my word.
You are of your father thedevil, and the desires of your
father you want to do.
He was a murderer from thebeginning.
Jesus was blunt, he wasn'tplaying around.
(10:30):
So you know what.
I know why.
I know why you're doing this, because I know who your father
is.
Your father is the devil.
You act like your father.
He's a murderer.
That's why you want to kill me.
(10:51):
You see, child of God, one ofthe role of a son.
We're gonna get there.
You are a representation ofyour father.
If you claim that God is yourfather, you have to reflect his
attributes.
If God is love, you have to beloving.
If you claim that God is yourfather and you're gossiping, you
want to kill people, then youare of the father, the devil.
That's how it is.
But if you claim that God isyour father, god in the heavens
(11:13):
is your father.
Reflect him in your character.
Reflect him how you treat him.
One of the reasons why Jesuscame to declare the Father to us
, to reveal who God is.
Remember.
God is all about relationship.
God is three in one, even theTrinity God is Father, god is
(11:37):
Son, god is Spirit.
Three in one.
And the first human institutionthat God established was family
.
God created a man, adam, eveand children.
Three in one, so the numberthree signifies unity.
So God is personal, god isrelational.
God is all about family BecauseGod is all about family.
(12:02):
The Bible says For God, soloved the world that he gave.
God is all about family.
The Bible says for God, soloved the world that he gave.
God is saying that I createdmankind to have fellowship with
me.
I created human beingsinitially to have a relationship
with me.
But guess what?
They failed.
They sinned against me.
But you know what?
I am going to send my son tocome and tell my other sons
(12:26):
about me, their father.
You know God did.
God said my faithful son, myloyal son, my committed son.
I love my earthly rebellioussons.
The Bible said while you knowwe're sinners, christ died for
us.
Wow, wow.
(12:48):
Is that?
You know what, my son?
I need to get back and I need,I need, I need that relationship
, I need, I need my relationshipwith my earthly children.
How is that gonna happen?
Because sin, sin, has pushedthem far away from me.
What is sin?
Sin is separation from you andGod.
God is saying no, no, I cannotbe separated from you.
(13:10):
I cannot be separated from you.
I need to do something aboutthis.
I need to do something aboutthis separation.
You know what I'm going to do.
No one is qualified to make ithappen.
But you my son, but you my son, jesus, I want you to go down
(13:36):
because I love them so much.
That is why, when jesus was onthe cross, he, oh god, when
jesus was on the cross.
He said the last words of jesusbefore he left his ghost.
Speaker 2 (13:39):
He said my father why
?
Speaker 1 (13:39):
have you forsaken me?
Forsaken me.
The one and only son wasforsaken.
So that all of us, sons anddaughters, come back and have
that relationship with God,powerful Jesus, god is saying
that I'm going to forsake youjust one minute, so I can bring
(14:03):
Moses back, I can bring Annaback.
Bring, I can bring Moses back.
I can bring Anna back.
I can bring Morris back.
I can bring my last childrenback.
Jesus, just hold on.
Just hold on.
I just want you to accomplish amission for me.
Just just hold on.
He said my father, why have youforsaken me?
Jesus was trying to escapesalvation when he was saying
(14:25):
that, god, this cup is too muchfor me.
But God, you know what thepicture will be done.
Jesus was doing that just foryou and I to restore our broken
relationship with our HeavenlyFather.
Now let's go to the concept ofsonship, fatherhood.
(14:50):
The word father has differentusage and application.
In the bible it means a malefigure who acts as a parent.
It means um, the first.
That starts something.
So the word itself, bydefinition, father means a
(15:10):
source, a creator, a producer.
God is a father, a source, aproducer, and sometimes and
(15:32):
sometimes, it also means a placeof authority, a place of
authority.
So we have God calling himself afather.
He didn't say I'm God themother.
I know there's some people thatpreach oh, there's God the
mother, there's God the daughter.
No, no, no, no.
There's no God, god the mother, god the daughter.
There's only God the father andGod the son.
Don't bring that gender feministnonsense here.
It doesn't work.
It doesn't work on me.
Amen, it doesn't work.
There's no God the daughter, god the mother.
(15:53):
You might think God is biased.
No, it's not.
There's a reason why Languageis very key, amen.
So God is saying what we know.
God identify himself as afather to us, period.
If you have a problem with that, take it to God.
Because somebody in class wasasking me way back why is why?
Why do you call God father?
Why can't you call her mother?
I say you got a problem withthat and take it to Jesus then
(16:18):
amen, so so.
But the word itself came from aGerman word.
It means foda, and it's sopowerful that it's a nourisher,
a protector and an upholder FodaFrom the word in German, fada,
(16:40):
foda An uplifter, a nourisherand a protector.
Now, if we look at the word sonitself, it means a male person,
young or old.
Have you guys noticed something?
You will call your son when heis, let's say, an infant.
(17:06):
You will call especiallyparents.
You will call your son whenhe's a boy, when he's a teenager
.
But do you know that you alsocontinue to call your son when
they are adults?
You continue to call your sonswhen they are seniors, when
you're old.
When it comes to God, one of thethings that makes all of us
(17:28):
equal is that we are allchildren.
There is no grandpa in the Lord, oh.
There is no elder in the Lord.
There is no mama in the Lord.
You know.
There is no mama.
There is no such thing as mamain the Lord.
There is no brother in the Lord.
There is no uncle in the Lordoh in the lord.
Oh, god, god, you know, theycall me uncle on earth.
(17:50):
They call me uncle, they callme brother, they call me papa.
Ah no, no, god said no, no inheaven, not like that.
I will address everyone equally.
You are all sons and daughtersof the so but?
But let me just read quickly mynotes here.
The concept of sonship isgender and age neutral.
Speaker 2 (18:15):
It's gender and age
neutral what do I mean by that?
Speaker 1 (18:19):
the concept itself
doesn't specify male or female,
old and young.
When it comes to the Bible, sonship it's not about oh, all
the boys are sons of God, thedaughters are not.
No, it's not about okay, allthe young people are sons of God
, the old people are not.
Sons and daughters of God.
No, it's not about gender andage.
(18:41):
The word sons have been appliedto the children of Israel,
god's people.
He called them children ofIsrael.
So the idea of sonship startedway back.
So you have the human species.
We are all created by God.
I can call an unbeliever that, hey, you are a son of God.
(19:03):
That's true.
It's a true statement.
It's a true statement.
You are because you werecreated by God.
So, from that level, from humanspecies, angels, angels are
called sons of God Because theBible says the sons of God
appear before God.
Even Satan himself is a son ofGod.
Satan himself is a son of God.
They appear before God toreport to god in the book of job
(19:27):
.
So you have angels beingreferred to as sons of god, you
have the human race, like thecreation, referred to as sons of
god, and you also have adamreferred to as the sons of god,
and then you have the childrenof israel referred to as the
sons of god, and now the finalchildren of god is us as
(19:48):
believers.
So have you seen the patternfrom the all the way from
genesis, all the way down god?
God is saying I want children,I want children.
God is relational.
God is saying that I haveheavenly children they're angels
but I want earthly children.
That is why, when we go toheaven, what God is doing is to
(20:10):
bring one big family whichincludes the angels, which
includes us as believers.
That is the end result.
So bring about one huge family.
Now let's look at the four R's.
Relationship is one of them.
Relationship is by believing, being born again, belonging and
(20:31):
becoming.
What do I mean by that?
You are a child of God as aresult of relationship, and that
relationship came about youbelieving in Jesus.
And second, when you believe inJesus, you're born again, not
of blood, none of your own will, not the will of man, of God.
(20:53):
You believe one again.
You believe there's a process,relationship.
Believe one again.
And the second is belong, belong, belong.
That is why God is all aboutthe kingdom of God.
The kingdom of God, you know,we're going to heaven because
that's where we belong.
We are citizens of heaven, notonly to belong, but to become.
(21:14):
To become as well, because wehave to reflect our father, like
father, like son.
Speaker 2 (21:20):
I've even wonder why.
Speaker 1 (21:21):
Jesus will always say
when I see, whatever I see my
father does, that's what I do.
Whatever I hear from my father, that's what I do.
Whatever I hear from my father,that's what I speak, why he's a
reflection of his father.
God wants you and I to reflecthim in our speech, in our
conduct, in our thinking, in ourfeeling, how we treat one
another.
So you don't just want to, youdon't just use that name.
(21:42):
Oh, I'm a son of God and youbehave like a son of devil.
It's a lie, it's not gonna work.
If you're gonna use god's name, make sure you reflect his
characteristics, make sure youwalk as your father walks.
If god is kind, you have to bekind.
You have no choice.
You have to be kind becausethat name is powerful, that name
is holy amen.
One of them is one how?
(22:02):
How do you now establish thatrelationship is it's through
salvation, through salvation.
So that gives you the firststep and I realized that that
relationship came about.
Blood covenant, just as humanblood, when it comes to family
(22:23):
blood is involved.
Have you ever noticed why bloodhas to do with family?
And then witches and wizards, the youth blood.
Blood, when it comes to family, alt is involved.
Have you ever noticed why bloodhas to do with family?
And then witches and wizard, the youth blood.
Blood, when it comes to family, alters.
God established the samepattern too, jesus christ.
His blood was shed on the cross, so you and I, oh god.
His blood was shed as a result,to establish a covenant.
His blood was shed to establisha covenant of a new family.
(22:46):
So blood is necessary to have afamily.
The reason why, let's say, forexample, my family is the Kalon
family, right, what makes all ofus part of the Kalon family is
our bloodline.
What makes every member in theKalon family my sister, my
mother, my uncle, my cousins, all of us have that name.
Kalon is as a result of what wecall bloodline.
(23:07):
So God is saying that if all ofyou are going to be my children
, there has to be one thing thatconnects all of us to God.
That is what the blood of Jesus.
That is thicker, stronger thanany other blood.
(23:28):
So, uncle Moses, look at me verywell.
I am related to you.
I don't have to be from Uganda.
I'm your blood brother.
As a result of what?
The blood of Jesus.
What's your name?
Yeah, what's your name?
Mercy?
I am your brother.
(23:50):
I don't belong in your familyphysically, but I'm your brother
because of the born blood ofJesus Christ.
Amen, I'm like God.
You've taken me to anotherlevel.
Now I see God differently.
I can come boldly.
Papa, your son is here.
(24:10):
I used to see myself as aservant, servant of God, worker,
worker in the ministry.
When I'm going through problems, I never cry out Abba.
God is saying cry out, abba, myson, where are you Now?
When I go into presence, I'mlike God, your son is here, I
will boast in his presence.
I'm like god, your son is here,I will boast in his presence.
I say, god, your son is hereand, as a father, you have the
responsibility to take care ofme.
(24:31):
As a father, you have theresponsibility to take care of
me.
That is your risk me to have aresponsibility to to obey my
father.
Some of us would like to claim,we'd like to claim rights, but
God is saying Are you anobedient child?
You understand, mommy, buy me abiscuit.
(24:52):
But mommy is saying Are youcleaning the house?
Israel, you want PS5?
Musumba is asking you Go washdishes?
You say, mommy, no, it's notlike that.
Amen.
You know what's funny too.
What makes Okay, oh God, theBible is so wonderful Before we
have family, and I know thingshappen in life where single
(25:15):
mother, single father, thingshappen.
I know you're the judge, butGod puts a system in place
Marriage, husband and wife.
Marriage, husband and wife, nochildren.
When children are involved, that's when you have the right
to use the word father.
When children are involved, that's when you have the right
(25:36):
to use the title father.
So fatherhoodo isresponsibility.
Don't just pregnant ladies, godwas telling me.
Don't just pregnant ladies, godwas telling me.
Don't just pregnant ladiesThinking that you will not be a
father to them.
Don't just carry the name I'm afather.
Oh God, god forgive me.
(25:56):
I remember when my father calledme.
I don't even know how he got mynumber.
I think he got my number frommy grandmother.
I see my grandfather as myfather.
He was speaking in my language.
I didn't even understand.
I know he was speaking in mylanguage.
I didn't understand.
I know what's calling me formoney.
No, we know people.
Africa calls you for money.
Right, was saying that me.
Begin my son.
Long time ago.
You know I forsook, I forsookyou.
(26:16):
I wasn't there in your life, Iwas.
I'm like this guy, like I don'tknow you from Adam.
You know.
And then and I'm like whatare's this guy?
I don't even know you from Adam.
And I'm like what are yousaying?
Who are you?
I'm your father.
You're not going to scam me.
Father, for what you won't scamme.
I said I'm not your father.
I think there was a friendbeside him.
(26:39):
This is, forgive him.
This is your father, your bornblood father.
I said are you mad father, yourblood father?
I saw you mad.
One blood father, for what.
You're not gonna scam me.
It's not gonna work.
We got have mercy on me.
My mom said that that was yourfather called.
He didn't recognize his voicebecause you don't know him.
Two weeks later he passed away.
(27:00):
I would have saved his life ifI would have listened to them
and not to hold any bitternessand anger against my father,
maybe that would have been anopportunity, I was still saved.
That would have been anopportunity for me to pray for
him and to forgive him, toaccept him, but I said I disown
(27:21):
him.
Women, women, don't ever dothis to your children.
I'm begging you.
My mom did this to me, but Iforgive her.
Yes, you had a bad experiencewith a man.
He wasn't there for you.
I understand it happens, butdon't take the privilege away
from them knowing your father.
Don't take the privilege awayfrom your children having a
(27:43):
relationship with your father.
Don't take the privilege awayfrom your children having a
relationship with your father.
Don't take the privilege awayfrom your children knowing who
their father is.
If you don't want to be withhim, it's okay.
It's okay.
Don't take that away.
Don't take that away.
When I was young because Istruggle with rejection,
(28:05):
especially from my mom my momnever said that she loved me.
I have to tell my mom that Ilove her.
You know African people.
We're not very expressive.
This is what's in our lineabout white people.
I love you, baby.
I love you, my mom.
She wouldn't even dare say baby, I love you.
Come here, do this, go overthere.
Come pick up the garbage, mamalower, come here.
(28:29):
Do this?
Go over there.
Oh, prime, come pick up thegarbage.
Mama, lower your voice, speak, speak nicely.
We as africans, mama, do youtell your children that you love
them with words, with words?
Wonderful, I found them, mydaughter, you did well in school
.
Oh, clap for Jesus, my daughter.
You're so beautiful, mydaughter, come let me love you,
(28:51):
my daughter.
I love you, my son, even thoughhe's misbehaving.
Tell him that.
Don't do that again.
Oh, he's punky.
I love you, come back, I loveyou.
You have to tell them that youlove them.
I had a dream because I wasstruggling with this rejection
and then God was saying that inthis dream, my mom and I was
(29:14):
very young, my mom and my dad.
They were arguing and theypushed me aside and I was crying
.
It's like they were arguing.
My dad was like I don't want.
I don't want you, I don't wantthe baby.
My mom got kicked out of thehouse.
It's actually a real like.
My mom actually told me thisstory in real life, but I saw it
in my dream.
That's how strange it was.
In real life it happened.
(29:35):
My mom got kicked out.
She didn't want me.
My grandfather you know Africanparents are very strict.
My mom was young.
My grandfather was like oh no,no, no, it was my grandmother
who secretly took me in, raisedme from the village.
See me, I'm a village boy.
I came from the village, avillage called Nikabu.
I was not from the city.
I never imagined that I wouldbe in Canada.
(29:57):
I came from a remote when I sayvery remote village, remote
village.
I didn't wear any pants, I wasjust butt naked, no slippers,
running around like a madmanVillage boy.
And then, when I saw that dream, I was crying.
My cry was calling my mom andmy dad hey guys, be at peace,
(30:20):
don't abandon me.
Children, parents, please, I'mbegging you.
I'm not just preaching for thesake of preaching.
Whatever you do, husband andwife, in front of your children,
mom and dad, it's a seed thatyou're planting in their hearts.
If you're rejecting them, they're going to feel that
(30:41):
rejection.
If there's hatred in the home, they're going to feel hatred.
If there's love in the home, they're gonna feel hatred.
If there's love in the home, they're gonna feel love.
That is just the fact of lifeand that's when god started
healing me because of time.
So one of the hours is thisrelationship and the other one
is role.
This is where now we at times.
(31:04):
Our role is this we arechildren and we need to behave
as children.
Look what Jesus says in 1 John, chapter 2, verse 28.
And now little children abidein him.
So Jesus actually called youand I little children.
So with God there is noseniority.
It doesn't matter, you canstand before God.
God, I'm the elder, god, I'm a69 years old man.
(31:25):
You can talk to me anyhow.
It.
God, I'm the elder, god, I'm a69 years old man, can't talk to
me anyhow, it's a lie.
God can talk to you anyhow, youare a little child.
To god.
He says my little childrenabide in me.
And then, in mark, jesus alsocalled his disciples children.
How hard is it for those whotrust in riches to enter the
(31:46):
kingdom of god?
And then in 1 John, chapter 2,verse 28, look what it says, and
now the children abide in himthat when he appears we may have
confidence and not a shamebefore him as he comes.
So that word little children, little children, we like
children to God.
You see, when you come to God,come to God as a child.
(32:09):
A child is humble.
A child is dependent.
A child is dependent.
A child is trustworthy.
A child is innocent.
A child is willing to learn.
We adults it's very hard to asadvice to young people who want
to get married don't expect tochange your spouse.
They are growing old adultsrefusing to to change.
(32:31):
They're resistant to change.
It's very hard to change yourspouse, so make sure you pray to
god.
Give me somebody who's alreadychanged.
Ah, I don't know.
I don't think you guys make god.
God, give me someone who isalready changed.
Men or women, especially women.
If you're planning to changeyour husband, like, it's not
going to work.
Men or women, especially women.
(32:51):
If you're planning to changeyour husband, la la, it's not
going to work.
After 30 years of bad habits, you expect God to come and say,
oh, I will marry him, he willchange, he will become a
believer.
Are you God?
Are you mad?
He wants to die.
He won't die in this church.
Amen.
No, don't try that, don't trythat.
So we are children of God,that's our role and I want you
(33:14):
to see yourself as a child ofGod.
See yourself as that, not aresponsibility.
That is why at times, it's veryhard for us to reflect God,
because we don't work in His wayand sons and daughters carry
their parents' lineage.
Son and a daughter continuestheir parents' nature and name.
(33:36):
A son and a daughter continuetheir parents' nature and name.
Nature in a sense that whateveryour father and mother is, you
will carry it because that bloodis still in you.
That is why we have familyaltars.
This helped me to understandfamily altars.
(33:58):
So whenever I'm fighting familyaltars, I'm replacing the blood
of my physical family with mynew family, the blood of Jesus.
When you know the truth, thetruth will set you free.
It is our responsibility aschildren of God to obey the word
(34:19):
of the Father.
I'll just read one scripturebecause of time Proverbs,
chapter 1, verse 8,.
It says my son, hear theinstruction of your father and
do not forsake the love of yourmother.
When you read the entire bookof Proverbs, that phrase my son,
my son father is givinginstruction to his son, my son.
Oh, listen to my word, my son, pursue wisdom, my son, pursue
understanding.
Is God actually saying that?
(34:41):
If you're going to be my son, pursue understanding.
So, young people, if you'regoing to claim to be a child of
God, your responsibility is tolearn.
Next time when you come tochurch, bring your back, bring
your pen, bring your pencil andtake notes.
Learn about your God, learnabout your father.
Another, another responsibilityfrom us is worship the father.
(35:03):
Worship the father.
According to um, luke, chapter4 verse.
It says and Jesus answered andsaid to him get behind me, satan
, for it is written, you shallworship the Lord, your God, and
him only you shall serve.
And then, in Exodus, chapter 4,verse 22 to 23, says then you
shall say to Pharaoh, thou saysthe Lord, israel is my son.
(35:23):
Again, god is saying thatIsrael is my son, my firstborn.
So I say to you let my son gothat he may serve me.
So you are a son with aresponsibility to serve God.
You are a son with aresponsibility to worship God.
Another responsibility of beinga son or a daughter is you are.
(35:44):
It's your responsibility to dothe will of your father.
According to Jesus himself, matthew, chapter 12, verse 47 to
50 says.
Then one said to look to him, look your mother and your
brothers and and are standingoutside seeking to speak to you.
But he answered and said to theone who told him who is my
mother jesus was not trying torelate with people on a physical
(36:05):
level.
They always want to make jesuschrist.
Oh jesus, you have physicalmother, you have physical
brother.
Jesus put them straight.
He said I will tell you, guyswho my mother is, who my father
is, who's who my brother is.
It's not Mary.
That you see.
It's not just that.
You see.
He was thinking ahead of time.
He said I'm about my father'sbusiness.
At the age of 12 he said I'mabout my father's business.
(36:27):
But the man has a father.
Young boy has a father, adoptedfather Joseph.
Why is he saying that about myfather's business?
Speaker 2 (36:34):
they couldn't
understand so jesus said, he
looked around, he said okay, whois my mother, who is my brother
?
Speaker 1 (36:41):
and he stretched out
his hand toward his disciples
and said here are my mother, here are my brothers, for
whoever does the will of myfather in heaven is my brother
and sister.
Amen.
And lastly, you are a child ofgod when you walk like your
father.
When you walk like your fatherlook what it says in first john,
(37:04):
chapter 3, verse 10.
In this, children of god and thechildren of the devil are
manifested.
This is how you know if you'rea son of god, if you're a son of
the devil by your fruit.
Look what it says whoever doesnot practice righteousness is
not of god.
So if you're going to claimthat god is your father, you
have to reflect god in your walk, in your lifestyle, in your way
(37:24):
, in righteousness in wisdom, inlove and kindness.
And then now look what it says eEphesians, chapter 5, verse 22.
Therefore, be imitators of Godas their children and walk in
love.
We have to imitate.
We have to be imitators of Godas their children.
(37:46):
So if God is our father and weare God's children is saying you
have to imitate me, that isyour responsibility to imitate
god.
Amen.
And then your rights.
Your right, that is the lasthour.
Your rights, jesus said in john, chapter 1, verse 12 but as
many has received him to, dareme, give the right to become
(38:08):
children of god to those whobelieve in him.
So what right do you carry as achild of god?
You carry the right to have thename of jesus.
You carry the right to use thename of jesus wow, do you know
how powerful that name is?
You carry the name of yourfather.
(38:30):
Jesus said when you're praying, start with this Abba, father,
and in my name.
Speaker 2 (38:36):
So that's the right
that you have.
Speaker 1 (38:38):
You carry the name of
your father.
It brings access and it bringsblessing.
Look at the blessing in 1 John2, verse 12 to 14.
Dear, I write to you, littlechildren, because your sins have
forgiven you for his name'ssake.
Wow, these are stages ofspiritual maturity.
Speaker 2 (38:56):
Verse 13.
Speaker 1 (38:57):
I write to you,
fathers, because you have known
him, who is from the beginningWow.
And I write to you, young men, young women, because you have
overcome the wicked one.
Continues in verse 14.
I write to you, little children, again, because you have known
the father they said I have.
I have written to you, fathers, because you have known him, who
(39:20):
is from the beginning.
And I've written to you, youngman, because you are strong and
the word of God abides in you.
If you look at that particularverse in verse 14, it's all
about knowing God.
It's all about knowing God.
So you cannot claim that God isyour father and you have no
clue about this God that youclaim to be your father.
You have to pursue knowledgeabout God.
(39:42):
And finally, 2nd Corinthians,chapter 13, verse 14, it says
the grace of the Lord JesusChrist, and the love of God and
the communion of the Holy Spiritbe with you all, amen.
Speaker 2 (39:56):
We read this verse.
Speaker 1 (39:59):
But do you know that
this is the foundation of
relationship?
This is the foundation ofrelationship.
Let me explain to you.
I'll break them down into howGod wants it to be.
Number one, number one Love, love, love.
(40:22):
If there's no love in anyfamily, that family is going to
be dysfunctional.
Love is the foundation, love isthe motivation.
The Bible says in John 3, 16,for God, so loved, so attribute
love from the Father.
And the Father, by mydefinition previously, is a
(40:45):
source, a beginner, an initiator.
So we're seeing that Godinitiated this family from the
motivation, the intention oflove.
So every family, including thefamily of God and in your own
family, make sure you build onlove.
Look what it says in Malachi, chapter 4, verse 6.
(41:05):
And he will turn the hearts ofthe father to the children.
Love is the heart of the family.
If God didn't have love for youand I, god will not sacrifice
jesus.
If god didn't have love for you,god will not sacrifice jesus so
love has to be the foundationin any family.
(41:26):
Learn this principle and applyit in your own family.
Make sure love reigns in yourfamily.
Number two grace, grace.
Because there are no perfectmembers in that family.
Your husband is not perfect, your wife is not perfect, your
children are not perfect.
What do you need to do everyday?
(41:47):
Extend grace.
Love is the foundation andJesus, the Bible said, is the
fullness of grace.
Oh my god.
What defines god as a father islove.
What defines jesus as the sonis grace.
The father gave us love.
He said these children?
(42:07):
They're rebellious, they'rerebellious, but the senate
center, papa, I'm grace.
Now look at me, I am Grace.
Extend Grace to your children.
Extend Grace to your children.
Extend Grace, love, grace, lovefrom the father, grace from the
son.
Now, all of them have a rule.
Oh God, oh God, holy Spirit.
That was not enough.
(42:28):
Love, grace.
Now look what it says.
And the communion of the HolySpirit be with you all.
That is the connection, that isthe fellowship.
You know, what Jesus said isdidn't want you just to go.
It's not very selfish it's aJesus, stay with us.
But just said, are you mad?
(42:49):
It's better for me to go.
So I will send a helper, I willsend a power clay, because when
he comes he will oh my God, hewill live in you.
He will tell you about me, hewill tell you about your father,
he will help you to relate withyour father.
The reason why you and I wereable to relate with God is
because of the communion of theHoly Spirit.
(43:10):
All of them had a role to play.
So in every family, learn thisprinciple love grace and
fellowship.
Love grace and fellowship.
