Welcome back to another amazingconversation.
I'm here with Chantel and todaywe're diving into psychic
protection and energetic hygiene, and in the title we talk about
how this can be for empaths andpeople who are and you know, in
the title we talk about the howthis can be for empaths and
people who are really sensitiveto energy.

But really psychic protectionand energetic hygiene should be
for everyone.
We all need to be in theprocess of keeping up with our
energetic bodies, just the sameway that we keep up with our
physical bodies and with ourmental health and all of this.
Our energetic health is just as, if not more, important,
because it is the backbone, it'sthe baseline for everything.

Our energy is what's givingthis physical 3D reality its
blueprint, and so if we'refeeling sluggish, if we're
feeling anxious, if we havephysical health issues this was
something that we recentlytaught a workshop on here in
Houston, where I'm recordingthis podcast today from
Christine, and I taught chakra,metaphysical anatomy and
physiology and it was reallylooking at how all of our

physical symptoms, all of ouremotional symptoms, all of our
mental health symptoms canalways come back to.
Where did it start in yourenergetic field?
Which chakra is being impacted?
Where is your energy notflowing?
And so, when we're having thisconversation and bringing it in,
absolutely, if you're an empath, this is really really key for
you and if you're just a humanbeing walking on this earth,
(05:55):
knowing that you are a spiritualbeing, having this human
experience, this energetichygiene ritual is going to be so
important.
And so, as we talk today, we'regoing to go over the difference
between what is energetichygiene and what is psychic
protection, because they are twoslightly different things and
one is definitely more of ourmaintenance.
Like, we're going to bemaintaining our energetic health
(06:17):
just the same way that you know, we brush our teeth every day,
we shower a couple of times aweek, that kind of thing.
But then we're also going tohave moments where we need that
psychic protection, we need alittle bit extra for our
energetic field, and so we'regoing to go over that difference
today, as well as diving intowhat are some tools and
techniques that you can do tohelp with this process to use in
(06:40):
these cases.
And so I'd love to just startus off with a quick intro to why
we even need protection.
Right, I think a lot of Reikipractitioners especially come
into this work feeling like,well, we're walking in the love
and light, we're connected withReiki energy.
That's all we need.
We just need this love andlight energy, and absolutely
(07:01):
that is one aspect of what we do.
But from a shamanic perspective, we know that we live in a
universe that is a balance andan interplay between the light
and the dark, right, so lightcasts a shadow.
There's two sides to every coin.
Whatever metaphor or analogyyou want to use here.
We know that we live in a worldof duality there's physical and
(07:22):
there's non-physical right,there's black and there's
non-physical right, there'sblack and there's white, et
cetera where all of this light,all of this love is absolutely
present and very tangible.
But we also have these shadowsides, right, and we can think
of this in ourselves.
Right, we have the parts ofourselves that we love, or maybe
that we even just accept, andthen we have the parts of
ourselves that maybe we don'taccept as much and we kind of
(07:43):
push to the side and we callthat our shadow self, because
this is a natural effect ofbeing here in 3D reality, where
we do live in a world of duality, and so we can think of this as
a spectrum of energy, right asa spectrum of frequencies.
We know that we have this inmusic.
We have that scale of differentfrequencies and our energy is
(08:05):
the same way.
There are some energies that aredenser and heavier and there
are some energies that are a lotlighter and more ethereal,
where we're connected to timeand we're connected to space and
we have this ability to feelthe process of living life, feel
(08:28):
the process of healing, feelthe contrast of our triggers and
those moments that we'rehealing, this balance between
the two, and so we get to feelall of that.
We have those days where wefeel heavier and maybe denser
energy, and then we have thosedays where we're flying on cloud
nine, and what I would love tobring into this conversation is
that there's nothing wrong witheither of them.
(08:51):
Like that's our very first stepwhen it comes to our energetic
hygiene and psychic protectionis taking off the blame and the
guilt and the shame around,quote unquote, negative
experiences and things,especially when we're looking at
our emotions.
I think, for those of us thatare really sensitive to energy
one way or another, if we takesomeone else's emotion on as our
(09:12):
own or we get caught up in ourown life stuff and we find
ourselves stuck in the anxietyor the sadness or the anger or
whatever it is, we instantlystart beating up on ourselves of
why did I do that?
Why did I take this on?
I should be vibing higher.
I should know better.
I'm a Reiki practitioner or aspiritual practitioner, whatever
it is.
I should be doing better thanthis.
(09:34):
And we start shooting onourselves.
I should be doing better thanwhat I'm doing right now and all
that's going to do is pull thatenergy thinner and thinner and
thinner.
It's just going to accentuatethat weakness in our energetic
field.
Because when we're having theselimiting beliefs, when we're
having these negativeexperiences, we're causing a
(09:55):
fluctuation in our energy.
Right, we know the differencebetween when we're anxious, our
energy isn't flowing as well aswhen we're peaceful or when
we're joyful or when we'reexcited about something.
And this is again not to saythat one is bad and the other is
good.
We want to just look at them asthese are states of our being.
They are lessons.
(10:16):
There are lessons available tous in each state when we are
anxious or not having that flowin our energy field.
There's something for us tolearn about ourselves here, and
so when we can start by takingaway the blame, when we can
start by taking off the extraweight of beating up on
ourselves for these emotions, itopens up the space to actually
work with them and process thatenergy rather than keeping us
(10:39):
stuck in it.
Because if we're focused on oh,I'm feeling this way and I
shouldn't, we're focusing on thefact that that's what we're
feeling.
We're not focusing on the factthat we could be feeling better.
We're not focusing on the factthat healing is available.
We're not focusing on thepotential for transformation.
We're focusing on what's stuckand what's a problem.
And so this is going to be ourbaseline for this conversation
(11:00):
is really understanding thatthere's no blame here, there's
no fault.
It is really understanding thatthere's no blame here, there's
no fault.
It's not that we're doingsomething bad or wrong if we
experience the heavier side ofthe spectrum.
It's part of human life.
The question we want to startasking is how can we bring
balance back into our energywhen we feel these heavier
things, when we're in a stuckplace with our energy?
Do we have the tools,techniques and awareness to be
(11:24):
able to process those andtransmute them so that we can
pull out the lesson and comeback to our baseline, come back
to our state of connection andalignment and flow?

And that's really
where we want to take today's
conversation for our energetichygiene and psychic protection
yeah, I think it's really um,being mindful of where we're at,
like, what you're talking aboutis recognizing the spectrum of
the light and the shadow, as wedo walk a lot of times in the
shadow.
We have to recognize that inour um, within our presence,
(11:57):
within our world and everythingthat we're experiencing.
But it is knowing that we canprotect ourselves by keeping
ourselves mindful mindful ofwhat we're doing, what we're
watching, what we're reading,what we're how we're thinking,
the conversations that we'rehaving.
Everything has an impact on us,and so when we are hanging out
with people that are quoteunquote like low vibing, you
(12:20):
know they, that has an impact onour work field, it has an
impact on our energy field andour state of mind, and so we
recognize that when you leave aconversation and if you're
feeling drained, if you'refeeling not yourself, why is
that?
Is it the conversation that youhad that made you feel like
your energy is being depleted?
Is it the person that you'reinteracting with that is helping
(12:42):
you to feel like that as well?
Because some people, you know,we call them energy vampires,
energy suckers, and that's atrue state, because if somebody
is not feeling whole inthemselves, they are going to be
siphoning energy and utilizingthe energy around them, and so
if you're coming in all high andlight and vibing and then this
(13:04):
other person is not, yeah, theycan potentially take that energy
from you.
And so it's important for us towrap ourselves up in those
bubbles of light, to really beaware of our consciousness, our
space and everything, knowingthat our auric fields are six
feet apart right, the average isabout six feet.
So anytime we are six feet insomebody else's space, we are
(13:27):
merging our energy bodiestogether, and so that means I'm
sharing my energy with you,you're sharing your energy with
me, and if we are easilyattaching other energies to
ourself, then, yeah, we canstart feeling low energy, feel
tired, feel depleted, feel like,oh, I need to go home and take
a nap, or I need to go home andand recharge when, prior to that
(13:49):
conversation or whatever,you're feeling great.
So it's really just having thatawareness of where we are with
people and situations.
Even you know, it's interesting.
I was scrolling through I don'tknow social media or whatever,
and I received this spiritualdownload and it's like, you know
, you receive attachments fromthe comments that you're reading
, you know, and it's like havingthis awareness that even what
(14:12):
we're reading and the commentsof others.
We are having that energeticattachment because, let's just
be honest, like a lot of peopleare really negative in feeding
the like, the feedback andeverything right, and so the
comments and everything, andwhen you're, when you're looking
for that, that gossip orwhatever it is, it can have an
(14:32):
impact on your, your, um,etheric body, and so it is
important to just recognizethose things and to know that
the way we think about ourselves, that also, like you're talking
about the shoulds, like whenwe're shitting on ourselves, it
means that we are not standingin our confidence, we're not
standing in our highestvibration of self, and so you
(14:53):
know it's knowing where we areand recognizing in our own
energy field how we're showingup.
So you always know, when youwalk in a room, how that room
feels.
Does it feel low, does it feelhigh?
Or somebody who walks in andtheir presence is just seen and
felt, it's because they'revibing at a very high frequency
of energy, and so, or versus theother that comes in and
(15:14):
suddenly the whole room shiftsand it feels negative, right?
So it's not so much that thatperson is negative, it's just
that they are vibing at afrequency that is more lower and
dense, and maybe they had a badday or they're dealing with
some low emotions and stuff.
But when we are walking in theenergy of others, we just have
to recognize that it's importantfor us to protect our own
(15:36):
energy.
Like we would lock our house up, like you lock your car up,
like you take care of yourvaluables, right, we need to
value ourself in the same wayand protect our own energy field
the same as we would thosethings that we protect and that
we find dear to ourself.
Speaker 1 (15:53):
Absolutely, and
there's an element to it, there
too, of understanding that thereis so much, like you were
saying, that impacts our energy,that impacts us.
I think a lot of times we thinkthat it's our thoughts and
emotions and other people'sthoughts and emotions and those
are the only things that areimpacting us.
But you're right, the thingsthat we read, the media, that we
(16:15):
watch, the music that we listento, the planetary alignments,
what's happening in massconsciousness, if we have a
negative energy or entityattachment, if we have an
imbalanced chakra, right, all ofthese things can impact and do
impact our energy Because, again, we live in, even though we're
in this physical 3D reality,everything, everything in this
(16:38):
physical reality, has anenergetic blueprint, an
energetic foundation, and thisis where you know, in Reiki we
see that idea that Reiki is inall things.
In shamanism we see thisthrough the lens of animism,
that everything has spirit andenergy, and so we know that
anytime we're interacting withanything, it's going to be
impacting our energy.
The chair that you're sittingon right now has its own
(17:00):
energetic signature.
Who sat there before?
What emotions were they feelingwhen they sat down?
What room is it in and what'shappened in that room?
What energy has that chaircollected?
We can all really relate tothis one, I think, with clothing
, right, if you go thrifting andyou get a piece of used
clothing, a lot of times you'llpick up a piece of clothing and
it'll be like, oh, I love thispiece, but it's not for me,
(17:23):
because it has a weird energy toit, because it's picking up the
energy of its previous owner.
So everything in this world hasenergy.
Everything that we interactwith whether it's a conscious
interaction, like listening tothis conversation, or it's a
little bit of that subconsciousscrolling through social media
and looking at the commentsEverything we interact with is
(17:43):
going to impact our energy.
And what's so important tounderstand about this and
something that we were talkingabout in the workshops is
understanding the differencebetween an emotion and an
experience.
Because a lot of times whathappens is we might be trying to
quote unquote vibe higher right, we might be doing all of our
positive affirmations, we mightbe practicing positive thinking,
(18:06):
we might be trying on thatsurface level to keep things
really light, but then insidewe're feeling like crap.
Right, we still feel off, westill feel sluggish, we still
feel drained, and we're sittinghere wondering what am I doing
wrong Right, I'm doing the Reiki, I'm doing the affirmations,
I'm doing the things.
Why isn't it helping?
Why am I still pulling in otherpeople's emotions?
(18:26):
Why do I still feel tired allthe time?
All of these questions, andthis is where we get to come to
understanding what's happeningin your energy, not just what's
happening in your mind.
And so this is where I like tobring in this idea of emotion
versus experience, because, froma psychological perspective,
our emotions are the combinationof our thoughts, so whatever's
happening in your head,consciously or unconsciously,
(18:48):
and the physical response thatyou have to that thought, so
does it make your heart rate,does it make your blood pressure
go up, does it make your leftarm tingle, and how does your
brain then interpret thatphysical sensation?
This is why a lot of people whoget really excited about
something often feel likethey're anxious, because it's
the same physical symptoms andoften the same thoughts of like
(19:09):
oh, this thing is coming up andthe brain interprets that as
anxiety, where you can rewire itto say, no, I'm just excited,
because that's what an emotionis.
It's this combination of ourthought and our physical
response to it, whereas anexperience and you can choose a
different word for this.
We're going to go withexperience for now.
But an experience is what ishappening in your energy, what
(19:31):
is your energy feeling in thatmoment.
So you can be doing all ofthese positive affirmations, you
can be connecting with Reikienergy, you can be meditating on
that thought level and bringingin these thoughts.
But if, in the background, everytime you say I am lovable or I
am safe or I am protected orwhatever it is for you, your
energy is going well, that's aload of crap.
(19:53):
I'm not safe, I'm not protected.
If you don't have thatenergetic state of being
protected or being safe or beingpeaceful or whatever it is for
you, those thoughts and thoseaffirmations aren't going to do
anything, because it's justhappening on the thought level,
not on the energetic or soullevel.
(20:13):
And so this is whereunderstanding that flow, that it
goes from our energy to ourthoughts and our emotions to our
physical body.
There's a pattern there and wecan see that if that's the flow,
if everything starts in ourenergy and ends in our mind,
then just trying to do theseaffirmations in our mind or just
trying to think the right wayor make the right choices is
(20:33):
only going to have a minimalimpact compared to what could
happen if we focused on shiftingour energy first.
And so this is why, you know,when we talk about vibing higher
and things like this, that ideaof always having positive
energy can be a little bit ofspiritual bypassing, because
we're trying to ignore or skipover, not consciously.
(20:56):
Right, there's no blame here.
We're not doing this because wefailed or we're bad people.
This is just human nature towant to avoid the shadow, to
avoid the darkness and to juststay in the love and light.
But when we do that, we'recreating this thought world that
might be really positive, butyour experience, your energy, is
still saying that you're notsafe, that you're not protected.
(21:17):
And so this is where things likeour limiting beliefs come into
play, because if we trulybelieve that we're not enough,
that we're not safe, that wedon't deserve to stay in our own
energy, that we're only worthyif we're taking on other
people's emotions so that we canhelp them, if we have these
beliefs about how our energyneeds to be functioning and how
(21:37):
we fit into the world, that'swhat our energy is going to be
holding onto, that's what we'regoing to be putting out to the
world and calling back andattracting, and so when we're in
that state, we're really againlooking at your thoughts, are
amazing.
Learning how to be kind withyour thoughts, how to do the
positive affirmation, how to doall this is an amazing step and
(21:58):
it's an important component.
But when we're talking aboutactually creating these
energetic boundaries foryourself, being able to let
other people's emotions be theiremotions, being able to go out
into a crowded room and not takeon everybody's energy as your
own, or to have a really longday and not come back to the
house completely drained, at theend, it's really going to be
looking at what's happening inour energy, what's going on in
(22:22):
our energy that's allowing thesethings to come in.
And so there's a bit of thisradical responsibility that has
to happen in these cases ofrecognizing that, let's say that
you're a caregiver for your momand she's really struggling.
She's in a really difficultplace physically and mentally,
and you find yourself in thatspace with her every day and you
(22:43):
start taking on her emotionsand taking on maybe even some of
her physical health issues, andyou just constantly feel
drained.
By sitting with her and caringfor her, you are worthy to
create an energetic boundary.
You don't have to take onwhat's hers.
You can still be present andhelpful and a good caregiver,
even if you're standing firm inyour energy, and so this is an
(23:06):
invitation to really get curiouswith yourself.
Of where do you find yourselfmost often feeling out of
alignment energetically?
What situations do youtypically find yourself?
Pulling other people's emotionsinto your own or being impacted
energetically by what'shappening in the world?
What's your energetic weakpoint?
We all have an area or two thatprobably instantly comes to
(23:29):
mind, like I have maybe.
As an example, I have noenergetic boundaries with my
family, or anytime I go intowork, I immediately take on my
coworker's energy or whatever itis for you.
Or when I watch the news rightand thinking about do you have
any kind of beliefs about whatthat experience means about you?
And what I mean by this is, alot of times, people who are
(23:51):
energetically sensitive orespecially empaths develop a
little bit of a belief aboutthemselves that they are only
worthy if they're feeling otherpeople's energy, that their
ability to read others is whatkeeps them safe, and a lot of
times this comes from ourchildhood experiences where, if
we're in that stress state, ifwe're in a state of fight or
(24:12):
flight.
A lot of us in the spiritualcommunity.
Our go-to state, in oursympathetic, stressed nervous
system state, is fawn, and fawnis where we are letting go of
all sense of self and focusingon everybody else.
So this is also called mendintent, so where we're trying to
make sure that everybody elseis okay so that we can avoid
what's happening in ourselves.
And oftentimes this can addinto our empathic abilities or
(24:36):
ability to sense energy asadults.
And so noticing for yourself,knowing that this isn't an
always thing, this is just aninteresting thing to be aware of
in yourself of.
Do you have a belief aboutyourself that you have to be
able to read other people'senergy in order to be safe, that
you're only worthy if you'retaking care of everybody else,
that your energy is lessvaluable than other people's
(24:59):
energy?
Because those kinds of beliefsare going to prohibit any of the
tools and techniques that we'regoing to talk about from
actually helping.
Because, once again, what'smost important isn't what are
you thinking, what are you doingon a surface level, but what is
your energy saying?
What is your energy replyingback to the world?
And if you don't feel safe, ifyou don't believe that you're
(25:21):
safe, if you don't believe thatyou're worthy to be protected if
you don't truly know like youknow, like you know that your
energy is untouchable.
It doesn't matter how many ofthese tools and techniques you
use, you're still going to beenergetically open and available
, because what your belief issaying is I'm not worthy to have
these energetic boundaries, I'mnot worthy to stay true, I'm
(25:42):
not safe unless I'm feeling intoeverybody else, and so this is
a really important place tostart with.
This work is really looking atwhat are your beliefs saying
about your state of energeticworth and safety and it's coming
to the point now of, um, andhow do you do that right?
Speaker 2 (26:02):
so I think a lot of
us can say, yes, we've been
there, we have taken on somebodyelse's energy.
We've taken on somebody else'slike physical ailments, you know
, so to speak.
Maybe we're not, you know,feeling, we don't have the
diagnosis that somebody else has, but we might feel, feel that
sympathetic response to theirillness or whatever.
But going to, as like Reikipractitioners, when we are
(26:26):
working with other people'senergy, we very much can become
the transmuter of energy.
And so I find that to be alittle bit different too,
because one I feel that formyself is I transmute a lot of
energy, but I don't claim it asmy own, I just know it's
something I'm processing.
But when I do work with certainpeople and have worked with
(26:47):
people, it's like you can feelwhere their energy line is and
whether you, if it's heavy ornot, and so I think that gets
important for us aspractitioners that are going
into our offices and we'reworking with people, being able
to protect ourselves with that,and that is a lot of times it's
communicating to our space,right, it's calling in our
(27:08):
directions, it's calling in ourprotector, our spiritual team.
It's smudging our space, it'shaving chimes and bells and
different elements that aregoing to help to break the
vibration and to raise thevibration up, and so, but it's
also having that awareness, likeyou're talking about, with
ourself of is this my energy,that I am feeling?
(27:29):
And if it's not, we do need tobe able to clear that out.
And it, you know, it's almostlike seeing like a whiteboard
and just wiping it away.
What is it that I want to holdon to and what is it I want to
release.
And it is okay to say I'm readyto release that.
That is not mine, I'm not goingto carry it, I'm not going to
own it, I'm going to be theobserver of it, the witness of
(27:49):
it, versus I'm going to be theone that's going to sit here and
own all of your stuff, becausethen you're stepping in that
rescuer position of I have to goout there and save everyone,
and then really that's more ofan ego based, you know, trait
than it is being of a healer.
And so I think that for us it'sreally coming to the sense, and
(28:10):
the understanding too, is thatwhen we are coming forward and
connecting with these energiesthat have are having an impact
on us, then it is why is thathappening?
And then being able to addressthe conversation with the person
too, because sometimes theyjust need to have like a verbal
response or a verbal purging tounderstand why they're feeling
(28:33):
the way they're feeling, and alot of times it's just that
simple awareness Well, I'mfeeling like this because of
this blah, blah, blah, blah,blah.
And then the moment theyrecognize it, they're like oh,
then they themselves can releasethat, and so we are able to be
in the position, um, reallyexpanding our energy, our social
awareness, our consciousawareness of self and what it is
(29:05):
that we're bringing forward toall of our clients and to our
families and everyone we'reinteracting with, because when
we have, like um, dealing withcertain situations, it really
can have an impact on ourphysical, our physical body, our
emotional body, everything.
And so, um, yeah, just reallyhaving a clean slate when we
(29:27):
wake up, when we um chargeourself, we set our intentions,
we're connecting with our day,really can set forward a great
intention for how our day isgoing to be, and that we're
putting that protective energyaround us.
So, with every step we take, weknow that we're standing in our
own energy versus everybodyelse's around us.

Absolutely, and you
know, in that there's this
really fascinating component tobeing an empath that you touched
on that I would love to bring alittle more awareness to,
because I think so many of uswhether we identify as an empath
or just somebody who's highlysensitive to energy, right, a
lot of times we walk aroundfeeling like this gift is
actually a burden, like we endup feeling like I wish I didn't
(30:10):
have to do this, I wish I didn'thave to feel that people's
energy, this is so hard.
I'm always taking on what's notmine, et cetera, et cetera.
And there are two perspectivesto this, maybe three.
The first is that, yeah,absolutely taking on other
people's energy is taxing.
It's a lot to constantly befeeling everybody else, but when
we can step into a place ofempowerment, when we can realize
(30:33):
that doesn't have to be the waythat you use this gift and
that's part of what we do hereat Moon Rising is help teach
people it's okay to have thisgift.
Let's actually make it feellike a gift instead of a burden.
Let's teach you how to use thisbecause, as empaths, not only
(30:53):
do we have the ability topractice this psychic protection
, to practice our energetichygiene, which we'll get into a
second of how do we do that.
How exactly are we going tokeep our energetic hygiene,
which we'll get into a second ofhow do we do that?
How exactly are we going tokeep our energy clean and clear
so that we can still do ourhealing work?
We can still be powerfulhealers or lightworkers or even
just present in our daily lives,but we don't have to take on
that energy.
(31:14):
It can stay separate.
But we also, if we learn how touse it, empaths are powerful
transmuters A lot of timesbecause we can feel other
people's energy, because we canfeel that enmeshment in our
energetic fields, we can takethat energy and transmute it and
process it and release itwithout taking it into ourselves
(31:37):

We end up just taking on theenergy and holding it into
ourselves.

That can completely change thegame, and so this can be as
simple as whether you're in aReiki session with someone or if
you're just, you know, livingyour life and you're around your
family and suddenly you feelyourself picking up someone
else's emotions.
The first step is always goingto be when you start to feel
your energy off.
The first question is always isthis my energy or is this
(32:19):
someone else's?
Doesn't matter what situationyou're in If, all of a sudden,
your energy switches and youstart feeling off.
That's the first question,because what this is going to do
is you're going to knowintuitively, as soon as you ask
that question, you're going tohave this awareness of is this
my energy, something that'scoming from and being generated
by me?
Is it an internal trigger thatI need to look at, or is this
(32:41):
something from somebody elsethat I've picked up?
And if it's something fromsomebody else, or a different
situation or a planet orwhatever, it is something that
wasn't yours, that you've pulledinto your energy, then we go
through the process of thatenergy.
Is that energy?
And my energy is mine, andfinding what your phrase for
this is being really intentionalabout.
(33:03):
For me it's I reclaim all energythat is mine and mine alone,
and I release everything that isnot mine back to mother earth,
back to source, whatever I feellike there.
And so we have these threecomponents in this affirmation
of I'm reclaiming my energy.
I'm calling back my power, myenergy, anything that I've given
(33:23):
away.
I call it back so that I amwhole and I release everything
that's not mine.
So, whether that's someoneelse's emotion or energy from
mass consciousness or whateverit is, I release what is not
mine.
But you're not just going torelease it into the room so it's
just floating around the roomwith you.
We're going to release it tomother earth so it can be
(33:43):
transmuted and process.
We're going to release it tosource so that that energy can
be healed, whatever we feelcalled to do.
But we're going to release itpurposefully and intentionally
to our major helpers here, ourmajor supporters in our energy,
in mother earth and spiritsource, god, universe, whatever
you want to call that.
And I encourage you guys to,even if all you get from this
(34:05):
podcast is this technique of isthis my energy or someone else's
, and then I reclaim my energyand my energy alone.
I release what's not mine tomother earth or to spirit for
reuse, recycling andtransmutation, and play with
that phrase.
Make it feel good to you sothat it feels like you're really
intending this, you're beingintentional with your words,
(34:27):
you're commanding this energeticrelease and reset.
Try it in your own life and seewhat happens the next time you
feel like you're takingsomething on.
This is going to be our firststep to what I like to call
energetic first aid.
So this is where we kind ofhave three levels of psychic
protection and energetic hygiene.
(34:48):
We have our energetic first aid, and these are times where you
know, maybe we're in a session,maybe we're just walking around
in a crowd at the mall, whateverit is, and suddenly our energy
feels off for one reason oranother.
Something is going wrong in ourenergy and we need a quick fix.
We need something that we cando to recenter and rebalance in
the moment, and that's going tobe our energetic first aid.
(35:10):
And so these are things likecalling on your spirit guides
and your power animal If youhave that in your practice
visualizing yourself surroundedby the violet flame or by a
white bubble of Reiki energy.
This is going to be things likeusing clearing crystals like
selenite to release things fromyour energy field, maybe even
just running that selenite overyour aura, saging or smudging
(35:36):
using sovereignty statements.
So again, that affirmation Irelease everything that is not
mine and I reclaim my power, Iam safe, I am solid, I am
protected, but again knowingthat those affirmations are
going to have more power if youtruly believe it.
So this is where we also wantto be doing our limiting belief
work, which we'll talk about ina second.
But again asking is this mine?
(35:57):
Doing your grounding, usingsound healing to break up your
energy, anything that makes youfeel present and powerful in the
moment, anything that's goingto help you reclaim your energy
and release what's not yours iswhat we're going to call
energetic first aid, and ourgoal with energetic hygiene is
that we won't have to useenergetic first aid very often.
(36:18):
Our goal with this is that wecan use some of the rituals that
we'll talk about in a minute tobuild a practice whether it's
every morning or every night orwhatever that looks like for you
where you're taking care ofyour energy the same way that
you brush your teeth.
You're going to have anenergetic routine that's going
to keep your energy healthy andflowing, so you won't need first
aid as often.
But we're human.
(36:40):
We live in a really intenseenergetic world.
There are going to be timeswhere we need first aid, and so
this is where you need to startlooking at.
What does that look like foryou?
Is it some of these tools andtechniques that we've given you,
or is it something else?
What are the really powerfultechniques that help you in the
moment to come back to yourcenter Chantel?
What are some of those for youin the moment to come back to
(37:01):
your center Chantel?
What are some of those?

for you.
Definitely smudging, gettingout into nature, sound therapy,
anything like that, meditatingaffirmations, waking up in the
morning and really setting thatintention for myself

That was just a nice reminderfor myself, like as the wind
picked up, as the birds returnedand started chirping and stuff.
That is the protection ofourself too.
It's us connecting to thatenergy and knowing that when we
(38:04):
can go outside of ourself, it'sour thoughts, it's our action
that we're taking right that isprotecting us.
But I really do like crystalselenite is my major go-to like
tourmaline, anything that isgoing to help to bring in that
protection, that expansiveenergy, I really do seek that
(38:26):
out.
But with just knowing withinourself that anytime we can just
expand our energy throughknowing this is not mine, you
can actually pull yourself back.
I call back all of my power.
I give back what is not mine,sending it back.
If you need that visual to you,know the action of doing it, do
(38:47):
it.
You know there's other ways ofseeing you calling your energy
back with, like collecting aflower from every situation,
person that you came intocontact with, building the
bouquet.
So there's a lot of differentways of doing it, but it's
having the intention, knowingyour energy is going to follow
the intention that you set.
So if you believe it and youtrust in it and you trust in
(39:09):
yourself to be able to shiftyour energy, you absolutely can
Cause it's kind of like thatplacebo effect.
Right, our mind is going tobelieve it If we tell it to you
know, like, okay, this is goingto help me and it will.
Yes, it has its own frequencyand it has its own action and
everything.
If you're using crystals andsmudging and all that.
But if you don't believe thatit's going to clear you, it's
(39:33):
not going to, because you'regoing to be stuck holding that
energetic bag, the shadow workand the higher, the denser
energies and everything.
So, release it, let it go,trust in the process of it.
And so for me, that's a lot of.
What I like to do is justexpanding my consciousness,
being aware of it, um, givingmyself permission to like to
(39:56):
rest, giving myself permissionto sit in my thoughts for a
minute.
You know that's also veryprotective, setting boundaries
for myself.
So anytime, if I feel like youknow what, I need to just take a
moment to go sit in my ownthoughts.
It's okay to think that we haveto give to everybody or we have
to sit in a situation that isnot conducive to ourself.
(40:22):
But really, sometimes we needto step out and say I'll be back
in a minute or I'm going to gobreathe some fresh air, and
that's okay.
So give yourself permission,listen to your body, your mind,
your spirit.
How is it speaking to you?
What does it need?
And then give yourself that.

Absolutely and
noticing in that this idea of
where are you giving yourselfaway?
Where are you giving yourenergy away?
There's a big differencebetween working with spirit and
being a channel or a conduit ora hollow bone for spirit to work
through you, for energy to workthrough you and you to be
present through the process,versus giving away your own
(40:58):
energy.
Giving through you and you tobe present through the process
versus giving away your ownenergy, giving away your own
boundaries to other people sothat they can be healed before
you, so that they can be takencare of before you.
There's a big difference there.
One of those is really steppinginto your worth and saying I'm
worthy to be energetically wholeand present for this other
person.
The other is saying this otherperson's well-being is more
(41:20):
important than my own.
I'm not worthy to have my ownenergetic wholeness, I need to
give it away.
And both can be true, dependingon what you believe, because
we're creating our own reality,and so if you believe that this
other person deserves yourenergy more than you do, well,
guess what?
Your energy is going to begiven away to that person.
And so we want to come intothis connection and this
(41:42):
understanding that healing canhappen without giving away our
own energy.
Being present for someone elsecan happen without giving away
pieces of ourselves.
And so asking those questionsof where am I giving myself away
and do I want to continue to dothat?
Because we have free will,choice in all of this.
We get to choose where we spendour energy, where we put our
awareness, how much of ourselveswe give away, and if you want
(42:05):
to continue to do that, that'sabsolutely fine.
But if it's causing youdiscomfort, if it's causing you
to be in a difficult situation,knowing that there's another
option, there's another way ofworking with energy, there's
another way of standing in yourpower and still offering that
connection or that healing orthat presence, or whatever it is
(42:25):
, to the things and peoplearound you, and with what
Chantel is saying about usingthese affirmations and how you
have to really believe it, orbelieving that this smudge is
going to clear you, if you'rehaving a hard time connecting to
that trust, right, if you'relike I've smudged myself 15
times before and it's neverworked, why is it going to help
now?
This is where we can call insomething bigger than ourselves
(42:46):
that we do trust.
So if your mind can't trust youand your intention right now,
because that's a process ofgetting your mind on board.
If we're rewiring a belief,that's a process and so, if
you're having a hard timetrusting it in yourself, call in
source, call in a spirit guide,call in a power animal, call in
another practitioner to helpyou with this, call in something
(43:07):
bigger than yourself that yourmind can say I might not be able
to trust myself right now, butI can trust source to keep me
safe, I can trust my poweranimal to protect me, I can
trust my spirit guide to help mein this work, and that can
begin the process so that oneday, as you continue to do this
work, as you continue to show upand say I reclaim my energy and
(43:28):
I release what's not mine,you'll come into a space where
you believe it, where you feelthat power, where you feel that
intention, knowing that it'sokay if it's a process, it's
okay if you forget sometimes.
Feel that intention, knowingthat it's okay if it's a process
, it's okay if you forgetsometimes, it's okay if you
forget to do your energeticprotection.
Because this is part of theprocess and so half of it, I
think, for those of us who arejust starting this journey.
For those of us who are reallyfeeling like I have absolutely
(43:52):
no idea where to even start withmy energetic protection, a lot
of times the first step is justremembering to do it, just
remembering that you have achoice.
You don't have to take on thisenergy.
You don't have to be stuck inthe aftermath of having all of
this energy that's not yoursflying around your energy field.
We can start with that questionof is this mine?
(44:12):
Am I ready to release it and Ireclaim my power and release
what's not mine?
And, like Chantel said, this iswhere knowing yourself really
comes in of.
Are you an affirmation person,is just declaring it with your
words, that I release the energythat's not mine and reclaim
what is mine?
Is that going to be enough or doyou need a visual?
Do you need to visualize Reikilight expanding from your heart
(44:34):
all the way out and cutting anycords or connections with the
outside world so that you'rewhole in your energy field again
?
Do you need to visualizeyourself standing inside a
selenite tube so that you cansee everyone else's energy but
it can't come into your energyfield?
Do you need to visualizeeveryone in their own Reiki
bubble?
A lot of times I tell mystudents, if you think about how
, when we're in a Zoom meetingand it's in gallery mode,
(44:57):
there's all those rectanglesnext to each other, but there's
a really thin black line betweenevery single one, so nobody's
camera is overlapping.
You can visualize everyone intheir own Zoom rectangle or
their own energetic bubble of,again, your energy is your
energy, my energy is my energy.
Do you need to do a guidedmeditation for this?
And this is where we get intothose second and third kinds of
(45:19):
energetic protection, which isour maintenance and our hygiene.
And so our energeticmaintenance are the things that
we're doing day to day to keepup with our energy.
So we have our first aid right,which we talked about calling
in your spirit guide, using youraffirmations, visualizing that
light, setting your intention,going into nature, working with
the elements these kinds ofthings that we do in the moment.
(45:42):
But our energetic maintenanceis what are you doing every day
on a deeper level to just keepup with yourself?
How are you brushing yourspiritual teeth?
Essentially, are you doingdaily self Reiki?
Are you going for a walk innature?
Are you clearing your energyand your space every day?
Are you doing chakra spinning?

But these kinds of techniquesthat we're doing to balance and
clear our energy field drawingthe Reiki symbols on our aura,
(46:27):
working with the elements, doingour shamanic journeys if that's
in your practice, gettingreally clear on your boundaries
and meditating on those right,visualizing your boundaries with
other people or visualizing,you know, maybe it's a line
around you that protects youfrom other people's energy,
maybe it's lines around specificpeople, whatever it is for you.
Journaling and self-reflection,these kinds of daily routines
(46:50):
that we create so that, yeah,sometimes we're going to have to
floss between our teeth becausewe get food stuck in there,
sometimes we're going to needour energetic first aid.
But if we're doing a reallygood job of consistently
brushing our teeth, if we'redoing a really good job of
having a daily practice wherewe're visualizing our energy as
whole and protected and safe andflowing.
(47:12):
That's going to set us up forsuccess.
And this is where we then get toenergetic hygiene, where we're
looking at these bigger pictureaspects of this of how are your
limiting beliefs, how's yourconnection with nature and
spirit?
So, not just have you beenoutside today, but do you feel
connected to nature?
Do you feel connected to spirit?
(47:34):
Do you feel connected tosomething bigger than yourself?
How's your overall alignmentwith your values and your
boundaries?
Do you feel connected tosomething bigger than yourself?
How's your overall alignmentwith your values and your
boundaries?
Do you know what you value inlife?
Are you making choices thatsupport those values or are you
making choices that go againstthose and, again, give away
little pieces of yourself?
And so you can see how thisbecomes like a funnel where we
have our in the moment, toolsand techniques that we're doing
(47:55):
that are so important, thosevisualizations that you do,
those affirmations that you useto feel solid in the moment.
And then we have a little bitbigger part of the funnel of our
day-to-day activities.
Are you doing yourself Reiki?
Are you doing yourvisualizations, are you doing
your journaling andself-reflective work?
And then we have the biggestpiece, which is just that
general foundation of how areyou limiting beliefs?
(48:18):
Are you staying connected withnature?
Are you doing this bigger workin your energy field so that,
when it filters down to yourthoughts and your actions and
your emotions, you're alreadysolid, you're already clear?
And so, looking at these threelevels and really asking
yourself, where do you want tostart?
Where do you want to start withthis work?
What aspect of this is callingout to you, knowing that each
(48:41):
and every one is building oneach other to get you to a place
where your energy is reallysolid?
Speaker 2 (48:48):
Yeah, I love that and
because it does start with us.
It really does.
It is that foundation of how isit funneling into your psyche,
how is it funneling into yourbehavior, your personality, how
you're showing up, and so itisn't about coming back and
being upset with ourselves forany reason, but it is knowing,
(49:09):
like my thought, is producingthat outcome right.
It's the cause and effect, andso when we do have that, we are
having our spiritual awareness,our rituals on a daily basis,
and then that then funnels downinto okay, now I am trusting in
myself.
I'm trusting in myself becauseI have this process that I do
every single day and as I dothat, it makes me feel strong,
(49:32):
it makes me feel aware, it givesme intention, right, and so I
really do love that and gettingup and hitting the floor,
running with that, because wecan.
When we can't wake up, it takesa minute.
It takes a minute for you knowthe body and the soul and
everything to connect in themind, to wake up and everything.
(49:52):
So take that.
It's a great opportunity toreally align yourself with what
your day is going to look likeand setting your intention for
that and working like you'retalking about spinning your
chakras, even if you don't knowwhat that is yet, yes, come to
the live call or the webinar forthat.
But just knowing you canconnect with yourself, knowing
(50:13):
you can just connect with yourenergy, with your thoughts, you
can fill into that, bringing inthat balance, the first, as soon
as you wake up, bringing loveinto your heart, that's huge.
And then you know, if there'stimes during the day where you
feel like your mind is reallyopen or your heart is really
open, you can just close those,and that, for me, is a really
(50:34):
good one too.
And I use that a lot withclients when they're like you
know, I'm feeling, and not somuch from like a session or
anything but say they are havingthese energetic attacks or
these energetic experiences thatare heavy on them, and I'll
just say to them hey, go aheadand close your, your crown, you
know.
And then they'll call me backand be like that was so fast,
(50:54):
it's like it's instant and it'slike, yes, it is.
Because if we're open like thisall the time, our heart is open
like this all the time andeverything it does, we are going
to be collecting a lot ofenergy.
So just that simple action ofclosing them down a little bit.
It's going to be a reallystrong protection and you can
visualize it, you can put thepercentage on it however you
want to do it, but it really isconnecting to your own energy
(51:18):
body, knowing yourself.
And when we know ourself, we dobetter, we feel better, we
interact better, and so then noone can really come in and be
plugging in on our energy linesbecause we're not even available
for that.
It's like no, you don't get todo that, we're so protected.
It's just like boom, good, youknow, and that's how it is.
(51:40):
It's like being superwoman.
When she does that, we're soprotected.
It's just like boom, good, youknow, and that's how it is.
It's like being superwoman.
When she does that, you justsee that going out.
So it is having that sense ofbeing within ourself and still
knowing that we are like we areall one right, we're all
connecting with each other, butwe can bounce and mend and move
around and shift our energyaround what doesn't feel good to
(52:01):
us.
So if it doesn't give yourselfpermission to say that does not
feel right, and I'm going tostep back, because the moment
you step back from somebody'senergy, you will automatically
already feel so much better, youknow.
And then like, if you um worklike at hospitals or you're in
any kind of medical or schoolsor anything like that, you know,
when you leave, brush theenergy off, and this can be for
(52:24):
your regular job to go into thestore or whatever.
But if you feel like somethingis icky or heavy on you, brush
it off, clap your hands, stompyour feet.
These are really goodtechniques to help you to break
up that vibration so thatnothing is getting in the car
with you.
And if you do work in hospitalsor doctor's office or anything
(52:45):
like that, you can have sagespray in the car.
You know, I'll tell nurses Iwork with sage the bottom of
your like spray the bottom ofyour shoes, or have a different
set of shoes and change yourshoes in the car.
So when you get in the car,you're not driving home in the
same energy that you wereworking in all day.
So there's a lot of things youcan do.
You can have crystals in yourcar.
So as you're driving, you'recreating this energetic bubble
(53:08):
of protection, going as youtransition from work to home.
And then when you get home,before you even go in, you're
already changing your mindset.
So you walk in, you're notfeeling drained from your day,
you're having that energeticboost.
Sit in the car for a fewminutes if you need to, or go
out and ground with nature.
You know there's so manydifferent ways of connecting and
(53:28):
lifting ourself up.
So it's like be creative, bereally creative with what talks
to you, it speaks to you, and gowith that.
If it brings you just a littlebit of joy, that right there is
going to bring you up.
So it's just knowing if youhave a choice, as soon as you
(53:49):
can feel there's a lift in yourhappiness, your joy, your
enthusiasm that right there isgoing to lift you Absolutely,
and so, with all of this,knowing it, it doesn't have to
be hard.

This can be simple
stuff, right.
Brushing off your energy.
Taking three deep breaths isenough to shift us from a stress
nervous system state to aresting nervous system state.
Three intentional deep breathsis all it takes.
Clapping your hands or one ofmy favorites is washing my hands
after I do a session, washingthem with cold water,
visualizing it, washing off,visualizing yourself in a
waterfall with that water,washing away any energy that's
(54:19):
not yours, going back into theearth like a drain, taking some
deep breaths and visualizingthat you're scooping up any of
that like gray, spiritual dustthat you've collected during the
day with your inhale and thenexhale, sending it out,
releasing it.
These things don't have to behard, but the biggest thing is
remembering to do them.
Remember remembering that youare worthy to be in your own
(54:39):
energy, you are worthy torelease this stuff at the end of
the day, you are worthy to stepinto this empowered space, and
so I would encourage you to pickone or two.
Don't overload yourself withtrying to do 25 different tools
in one week.
Pick one or two, whether that'sa visualization that we've
mentioned today, like takingyour hands over your crown
chakra and gently bringing themtogether to close, or
(55:01):
visualizing a dial where on oneside there's 10 and on one side
there's zero, and it representsyour crown chakra and you're
just turning it down a littlebit so that it doesn't feel so
energetically overwhelming.
Maybe that's the visual you gowith.
Maybe it is brushing offphysically, brushing off your
body at the end of the day, tomove away that energy.
Maybe it's using thataffirmation of I reclaim my
(55:23):
power and I release what's notmine to the earth or to spirit.
Pick one or two techniques,either things that you already
know work really well for yourenergy, or one of the things
that we've listed today in thisconversation.
Pick one or two and try themfor a week and just notice what
happens in your energy, noticethe shifts.
(55:43):
Maybe even take a journal andjust journal a little bit each
day.
How did you feel before you didthe exercise?
How did you feel after goingthrough this process of trying
things, giving it a reallyintentional try and, again, if
you're having a hard time,believing that it's going to
help, lean into something biggerthan yourself.
Lean into Reiki energy, leaninto spirit, lean into your
spirit, guides, whatever it isfor you to help you truly feel
(56:07):
like I am safe and protected.
I can release this, I can stepinto my own energy so that I
don't have to be carrying thiswith me and just see how you
feel after a week.
And if, after a week, you lovedone of those techniques and the
other one didn't really do much, great.
Now you have one tool that'sgoing to go in your toolbox and
an open space to try somethingelse for a week and see how that
(56:30):
goes.
And if that one doesn'tresonate, you try something else
.
