Speaker 2 (02:54):
Welcome back to Wisdom Rising.
I'm your host, christine Rene, and today I'm joined with our
special guest, jess Mangum, whois a phenomenal individual.
I can't wait to dive into thisconversation today.
And so I know, like I know, like I know that this is going
to be really interesting anddynamic conversation.

(03:15):
One, I feel like we have a lotof similarities in our practice
and, two, we want to bringforward a conversation that's
very inspirational in the timesthat we're experiencing now.
I know in our my own personalpractice over at Moon Rising
Shamanic Institute, I've hadnumerous students and clients
and people in our communityreaching out about how heavy

(03:38):
they're feeling right now andhow they can really like shift
out of it.
So I'd love to have thisdynamic conversation about, like
what are some real, trueresources that we can offer our
communities to help themremember who they are and why
they are here in this presenttime to do this work?

(03:59):
So welcome to the show, jess.
I'm so excited to have you on.

Speaker 3 (04:04):
I'm excited to be here.
I was thinking you're probablywondering why did I choose to be
here right now?

Speaker 2 (04:10):
I know right Like oh my gosh, what did I get myself
into?

Speaker 3 (04:14):
So intense.
So yeah, along the lines ofwhat you're saying, I think you
and I both feel it with ourclientele and you and I both
look at patterns and thebehavioral patterns of the ones
that are coming to see us andjust what the heck.
The shift is real and I think,as you and I talked about and
you brought up, a lot of us arefeeling like our roots just

(04:37):
being ripped from the ground andjust kind of like we're
flailing, like this going.
How do we handle all of thisflailing like this going?
How do we handle all of this?
Um, so I will share with you.
I was channeling it was thebeginning of December last year
and, um, I realized you know oneof my not strong suits and

(05:00):
you're great at this, so Iadmire that is bringing people
together.
It's very heart chakra and I'mall like throat and third eye
and, like you know, likedifferent talking to myself, Um,
but it was abundantly clear tome.
They said next year is going tobe very much about people
coming together and creatingthis like spider web or safety
net of love.
Um, and it sounds easy andwhatever, but I'm seriously like

(05:23):
we need to hold each other'shands and hold them tight
because we're going to feel justlike we're in this wave pool.
Um, so I think that's thebiggest, that's the biggest
piece right there.
Community.

Speaker 2 (05:39):
And I love that point because I felt it, I've I've
been feeling it for months ofthis draw to do more offerings
in person, to see and connect ina real, tangible way.
I'm like, yes, absolutely, I'mthere for my students and my
online community.
And there's this definite likeshift into I need my people, I

(06:01):
need my community.
I need to hold hands, likephysically hold hands with my
neighbors and feel thatconnection and know that I'm not
alone.
And so, whether we're doing itonline energetically, of like
I'm, you're not alone.
I'm here in solidarity and anallyship with you.
And in the struggle of like weare, we can support one another.

(06:26):
And I see you, I see all of whoyou are and and and and be of
that place of acceptance, accepting of one another and
supporting one another.
And what does that look like?
And I know for myself that thatmy root chakra over the last
few months, yeah, it's beenfeeling like it needs that
nourishment of the soil.

(06:47):
Like, where are my deep roots?
Where am I putting my rootsdown?
How am I connecting into thetangibility of human life?
Of like you know, I haven'tseen my goats in months.
Like I'm part of a community.
We share the responsibility.
I'm like I haven't doneanything with my goats for
months and you know it's time tostart thinking about the

(07:07):
gardens that we want to plantand how we want to build that
space and how I want to connectwith my neighbors and potlucks
and and share a space with thepeople in my life and really
form those true bonds once again, even though they might be
different, even though theymight have different opinions

(07:27):
and all those things.
But how can we know each otheras humans and lovingly accept
one another and support oneanother and share who we are and
be witnessed and be seen and dothat collect like with each
other?

Speaker 3 (07:43):
Yeah, yeah, it's as you're talking.
I wrote down a couple of things, cause they hit me and I was
like, oh, this is so spot on, ofcourse, right.
Um, you said I see all of whoyou are and I thought about it
was a whole you know me sayingsocial media, just all of this.
It feels everything feels kindof like superficial and maybe

(08:07):
that's that's what that, thatchaos and that creative process
starts out as cause.
We're still trying to figureout like what this is all going
to look like, right.
But I love that you said that Isee all of who you are, because
right now, for me, it is aboutabsolute authenticity and, even
though it's so uncomfortable, finding the people with whom we

(08:28):
can be vulnerable, because a lotof us we put up, especially
healers, we put all these like Igot to protect my heart because
I've had to take care of somany people for so long that now
it's like we're safe, it's okay.
That now it's like we're safe,it's okay.
So I just I love that onephrase that you said

(08:49):
authenticity is so huge rightnow.
And acceptance, self-love, youknow all the things.
And you brought up the rootchakra too.
I mean it's so interesting thepatterns I'm seeing.
It's a lot of familial stuff,it's a lot of like love
relationships that are just kindof crumbling in sync with
what's happening politically andeducationally.

(09:09):
And I mean we're just I kind ofwant to move out there to
Montana with you, as you know,to hang out with your goats too,
because we need.

Speaker 2 (09:17):
we need that, that root chakra support, like I am
always like advocating, likewhat Phil makes you feel that
safety, what makes you feelconnected to that earth.
What practices are you doingthat says I am one with the
earth.
She is me and I am her and Ican breathe with the earth, like
I think.
This is why I love, like theroots of Reiki, of going.

(09:38):
This is our.
Our founder, a Sui, waspracticing mountain aestheticism
, which was a 21-day practice ofbecoming one with the mountain.
Everyone at Blankets believesthat he did 21 days of
meditation.
I'm like that's so surfacelevel.
He was practicing thisbeautiful art of becoming one
with the earth beneath his feet.

(09:59):
And how are we remembering thatwe are with the earth, we're in
, we're in partnership with theearth, that she is nourishing us
, and how do we feed our rootsso that we can feel safe amongst
the chaos?

Speaker 3 (10:14):
Yeah, the other thing too, in conversations with I
call her mother earth guy.
I mean, whatever right Um is,when I have people do the
meditation, they bring the lightin, they bring all of the
colors in through the chakrasand the energy fields and then I
have them blast that light.
That's coming from the heavensdown to her.
So there's something about thatreciprocal balancing of the

(10:38):
energy, cause I'm sure she'sdown there going what are these
people doing?
And that light, you know shehas access to it.
But I feel like, as we are theconduits, we're also like
blessing her with that as ameans of gratitude, while she
holds us stable, like we've gotthis, like we're.
We're teaming up with motherearth that way too.

(10:59):
It's funny that you say that,cause I have a friend who's a
gardener and she's like I'mcoming over next week to plant
wildflowers in your backyard.
I'm like I don't garden, but itjust seemed timely.

Speaker 2 (11:15):
And I think that's a really good symbolic thing.
Like, how are we sowing theseeds of beauty in our backyards
?
Yeah, how are we saying yes tofriends of beauty in our
backyards?
How are we saying yes tofriends to blessing us with
those seeds?
Because I think that the ideaof wildflowers there's not much
tending to them.
They can be wild, like the wildfeminine within us.

(11:37):
Like they can be wild, they canspread, they can do what they
will do, and yet it blesses uswith so much beauty and
understanding of like there wecan still be sowing the seeds of
beauty in our lives amongstwhatever's happening in the
world.
And I love that.
That invitation of like you'replanting seeds for the future.

(12:00):
How are you planting seeds inyour life for the future to feel
connected and stable andknowing that the earth herself,
she is readily available tocompost shit.
Like she will.
She will take your releases, she will take your heaviness,
she'll take it all and transmuteit.
We have to let go.
We have to do this surrenderingof, to release the heaviness

(12:24):
within our energy fields, withinour emotions, within our
physical bodies, and do this bitof purging, of going.
I don't need to hold onto thisany longer.
Like.
She can take it, she cantransmute it, she can alchemize
it, she can compost it and giveus the blessings of the
nourishment that the earth hasto offer.
And so like, I feel like, if wecan all like remember our roots,

(12:46):
remember our roots right now, what's going to help us feel
secure and stable and safe?

Speaker 3 (12:53):
Yes, You're talking about the future too, and, um, I
do see, with all of the chaos,I call it the zygote for the
zygote phase.
Right now, that's what it feelslike, and that beautiful stage
of pregnancy is such a it's ait's a.
it's such a great time ofcreation.
So you know you're talkingabout the earth.

(13:15):
I'm also talking about with thesacral, like doing artistic
types of endeavors, but I was,as you were talking, I was
thinking about all of the fearthat's been presenting itself
and remembering, essentiallybecause I get sucked into it too
.
Do you ever, like you, hearpeople talking and then it's?

Speaker 2 (13:37):
like ah.
Well, I recognize and witness itand I also, like you know, when
we're looking through our feedon social media, it's like how
easy it is to go click thatthing that like grabs your
attention and going like.
I have this very clearawareness of like, if I click
that, it's going to change mywhole algorithm, it's going to

(13:57):
change my energy of my feed andI'm making a choice Do I want to
like that?
Do I want to view that?
Even clicking it to view it isgoing to change your algorithm,
and so I really find that mysocial media algorithm
oftentimes is a mirror of myenergy state.

Speaker 3 (14:15):
Oh, absolutely.
I love that Absolutely.

Speaker 2 (14:18):
Because it will show you where you're at
energetically.
Are you down in the depths of,like, the ugliness of the world,
or are you getting all thesebeautiful positive messages of
people supporting one another,right, like?
It's totally based on theenergy that you put into an
algorithm and it will show youexactly where you're at, and so
I use it as a mirror often oflike and having the awareness of

(14:38):
like.
I can get distracted by this.
I totally could.
But I'm making another choice.
And that doesn't mean that Idon't go read the headlines of
the news, like I still want toknow what's going on in the
world, but I'm doing that on aon a different platform.
Like I want to just and I'm notgetting into the articles
necessarily, but I want to havea general overview of a snapshot

(15:00):
of where the world is at,knowing that when conversations
come, come about and groups thatI'm at least in the know.
But at the same time, I feellike I do my very best to be I
don't want to say disassociated, but disconnected like detached.
I'm detached to the outcomebecause there is that crown

(15:23):
chakra point of view Likeeverything is happening for a
reason and purpose, yeah, right,so like the heaviness right now
is happening for reason andpurpose, like there's always
this balance of the light andthe dark in the world and like
and that's literally why we cometo the earth Like I never say
like we're, we're not here forvacation.
The earth is like a messy placeof emotions and energy and

(15:48):
lessons and learnings, and it'snot easy.
It's not an easy place to be.
And so here we are during whatfeels like a messy, chaotic time
, and recognizing what it thatthere's reason and purpose for
it.
What it that there's reason andpurpose for it, like there's,

(16:09):
is it a a catalyzer for us toconnect deeper within ourselves
and create this network ofcommunity that we are light
workers and we can make a lightenergy grid.
That's in.
It almost feels like acelestial warfare with the dark
heaviness energy, but we havethe power.
The whole thing with thedarkness is they want to make us
forget that we are powerful,right.
So if we can step into ourlight fully and authentically

(16:31):
and be in our truth selves.
If I'm in conversation withothers and they're in
complaining mode, I don't wantthat complaining mode to affect
my energy and so I can bedisconnected and detached from
it and witness their struggle, but I'm still going to hold my
light in that conversation and,if I can offer support in some

(16:55):
way to lift them up and out ofthe conversation of the
heaviness, because it'shappening, the heaviness is here
, right, happening, theheaviness is here, right.
And and what, what?
What's our?
What's our job?
What's our job as lightworkers,as intuitives, as healers in
this moment now?
Is it to get in the muck or isit to grab hold of everyone and

(17:20):
help us come up in ascension?

Speaker 3 (17:23):
For sure, I thought, you know, tying in with what
you're saying.
I've had to be very deliberatetoo with what it is that I'm
watching and we forget.
It's, it seems.
So what's the word?
Innocuous, us watching certainthings on TV or just absorbing
certain aspects of it, so like,oh, here's this little thing.

(17:46):
It's shiny, you know, Um, but Ido, I do notice and I observe
with my own third eye.
Um, energy, and I rememberhearing channeling.
Again, this is whatever you'reputting into your field is going
to be what your reality becomes.
Yeah, it's the, it's what Iwould call the mirror theory,

(18:07):
and so we really do need to becareful about what we're putting
into our bodies, not justingesting, right, we're not
talking about what we'redrinking, smoking, eating.
It's more about what we'revisualizing.
Like I'm looking out at my yardand all I see is trees.
Obviously, it can't be likethat all the time.
Like, driving in the city ofCharlotte is a nightmare and I I

(18:28):
can't protect my third eye fromthat.
I wish I could close my eyessome days.
But, um, making those choicesreally helps us to concretize is
the best word I can come withthat foundation, and that's the
other thing too.
I find that you're probablyfinding it too.
I have to go back to those umpractices that are very

(18:48):
fundamental for me.
Yes, After every morning, wakeup and like assess my body, say
you know the Reiki prayer?
Do you know Reiki?
Usually it's the solar plexus,Cause I'm stepping into my power
there, Reiki the heck heck outof my power center and then
maybe do my crown.
But I have to do that rightwhen I wake up in the morning so

(19:09):
that when my feet hit the floorand I go to grab my coffee, I'm
in a grounded mind space and Ican start diagnosing.
Okay, where am I feeling likeI'm being pulled Right?
Cause that's you, yeah.

Speaker 2 (19:23):
Yeah, and I, and I feel like, for those of us who
are listening to this, are theif you're listening, know that
you give yourself grace.
If you've found yourself in aspiral of negativity and
depression and anxiety and thosespaces and places where you are
complaining and feeling theheaviest like, give yourself a

(19:44):
nice deep breath of grace andcompassion, because things right
now are heavy.
And what can you do?
Like, just as speaking ofwhat's your foundational
practices, like, what can you doon the daily to remember who
you are and come into youraligned state of groundedness,
of connection with the vine, like, what's that look like?
And and I I feel like there's alot of that Like, right now

(20:09):
there's a lot of energy workersand healers that are are having
to remember their foundationalpractices.
Like, I woke up this morning itwas like I think I need a Reiki
shower, I think I need to dochakra spinning in the shower, I
feel like I just need toenergetically purge and that's
going to be my morning practiceand that's going to be my
morning practice and that'sgoing to feel good.

(20:30):
And then I'm to know that, like, maybe I'm absorbing energy
from the world right now, maybeI'm just a magnet to alchemize
this and is that my intention ordo I not want that?
Like, sometimes I find myself ingroups that I'm just being the
empath, I'm soaking it all up ontheir benefit and going now,

(20:51):
where do I need to purge it andlet it go?
How do I intentionally shower?
How do I intentionally soccerspin?
How do I intentionally evaluatewhere I'm at and going?
This isn't mine and I know thatI can release it to the earth
for her reuse and recyclingRight.
So it's like, give yourselfgrace, give yourself so much
grace, because this isn't easywork and so noticing if you're

(21:15):
just absorbing and how do yourelease it?
Like, come to the end of theday or come to the end of that
interaction or that socialsetting and release, release,
release and know that you canput in energetic boundaries so
that you don't have to.
It can be a choice that I'm I'mnow within this group, this
community, and I'm being asponge for their benefit and or

(21:35):
I don't want to be and I'm notavailable for that.
Like you're in free will, control, sovereignty of your
energy and you get to decide, but you need to do it
intentionally.

Speaker 3 (21:47):
Discernment is key as well.
I think that kind of sums upit's.
It's knowing you know what isyours, what's others, and then
when you realize it's other Ihad.
Did you struggle with thatearly on?
Maybe you didn't.

Speaker 2 (21:58):
Yeah, oh, absolutely and discern, like I'm just
taking on everybody's stuff allof the time.

Speaker 3 (22:07):
Yeah, absolutely like they're upset, like what did I
do to upset them?
I think that's kind of the mindof the healer or the empath.
Like they're angry, I must'vedone something and I finally
learned, like that, like I haveto do the body pendulum.
Do you ever do the bodypendulum where?

Speaker 2 (22:24):
your body leads or another.
You know I'm not very good atit.
My ego gets too much in the way.

Speaker 3 (22:33):
I use it everywhere.
I use it in the grocery storeCause I can't like bring my
pendulum to the store, cause I'dbe like, oh, but I'll, I'll sit
there and go.
This person's really upset andthey're accusing me of blah,
blah, blah and I will be like isthis?

Speaker 2 (22:46):
my stuff and I will lean back and it's like no
straight up.

Speaker 3 (22:49):
No not mine.
So then that whole, youprobably have different ways
that you do it, but for me it'sbreathing techniques it's like I
always tell people, breathe inyour name all the way down to
your root, like squeeze in yourwhat I call the Hawaiian point,
right, yes, yeah, chakra.
And then breathe out their nameand do that several times,

(23:12):
cause then you start to realize,oh my gosh, like it feels so
much better they were justdumping.

Speaker 2 (23:16):
Yeah, I want to.
I want to reemphasize that.
So you're breathing in your ownname, claiming your power, and
you're breathing it into the wayin point, which, for those of
you who don't know this, is yourhorror.
This is like that space betweenthe solar plexus and the sacral
chakra, that power center verymuch in Asian studies, right?
So you're breathing your powerand you're breathing in your

(23:37):
name, and then you're exhaling, you're releasing this other
person's name to release it fromyour body.
Ooh, I like that.

Speaker 3 (23:45):
Yeah, so you're working with the element of air.

Speaker 2 (23:48):
Mm-hmm.

Speaker 3 (23:53):
And with family, family stuff it's huge.

Speaker 2 (23:55):
You know that family is the hardest.
Well, yeah, we all have thesesoul agreements and contracts to
learn from them.
So it can get a little.
It gets especially messy withthose relationships.
So, um, yeah, there's a lot ofthat right now and just uh,
making it through the day can beawfully interesting so yeah,

(24:20):
and this is where I'm like whattechniques and things do you
like to do throughout your day, rather than I need to do an hour
long practice?
I think there are so manyhealers and spiritual seekers
that they they read the books, they watch the things and it's
got to be this big emphasis on aceremony or a ritual that takes

(24:41):
up all of this time.
And you're doing it all daylong and I'm like no, no, no.
What if we just did 10% of ourday, which means like six
minutes every hour?
What if you do six minutes Ireally day, which means like six
minutes every hour?
What if you do?

Speaker 3 (24:51):
six minutes.
I really the number four, number four, the square right.
I love numerology.
Consistency of practice, it'skey, it's the foundation.
So, like you're saying and Iwork with a lot of moms, people
who are working full time youknow we've got to be in this
world.
It's not like you can be like,oh, excuse me, patient.
I have to go over here for sixminutes and meditate and breathe
or for like whatever.

(25:11):
So it really is kind ofcatching yourself.
For me it's identifying wherein your body you tend to pick
stuff up.
For most that I work with, it'sthe heart.
It's just a subtle like oh,this feels heavy.
So, like identifying whensomething's off.
It could be something thatsomeone did.
It could be the way they'redriving.
It could be just the waysomeone looks at you and all of

(25:34):
a sudden like catching that, really feeling it and then using
that breathing technique.

Speaker 1 (25:40):
Yeah.

Speaker 3 (25:43):
Right, you said releasing is huge Clearing.
You work with salt a lot.
I use salt for everything.

Speaker 2 (25:53):
Sometimes, not always , like I definitely recently
have.
Like I'm definitely like goingokay, my this intentional jar
that I created.
I had, I put an intention in itand carried with it with me for
a couple of weeks like to dosome deep, intentional work, and
then I dumped it all out.
I took out the pieces, I buriedthem in like a bowl of salt and

(26:16):
like I now they're like in thewindow receiving the sun, like
there's definitely methods inwhich I use with salt and it all
comes back to intention, Likewhat are you available for and
what you're not, and so like ifyou believe that it's done, it's
done Like I think that thatknowingness is so much.
So if you need to do a ritualto get into your knowingness

(26:38):
that it's done, fantastic, dothat.

Speaker 3 (26:42):
Yeah, it's so the salt that I use, or what I use.
I use salt and water and mix it.
It's whenever I do Reiki.
When I teach the Reiki, I teachpeople like clean your hands.
Obviously, you do like thistype of thing like brushing off,
Yep, but I'll use it at theback of my neck.
Now, that's because you channeltoo, but I do a lot of
channeling.
So where the God mouth is, alot of people may be finding

(27:04):
tension in their shoulders andthat's because all this heart is
expanding.
But I'll use salt here back ofthe neck.
I use it on my lower back.

Speaker 1 (27:15):
I use it in the dark areas.

Speaker 3 (27:16):
So my pits on the groin area, the feet, the hands,
and just I sit there and I lookup and I'm like, cleanse this
off me.
I may not even know what it is,but just allow it to flow down
the drain and of course, thankmother earth for transmuting it.

Speaker 2 (27:27):
Oh, I love that, I love it and I would.
I would love for you to speak alittle bit more about the God's
mouth, cause I don't think alot of my audience recognizes
that term, so would you describethat a little bit further for
us?

Speaker 3 (27:39):
Sure, and that's interesting.
I could.
I could hear you almost askthat before you asked it.
Imagine it, the telepathythat's going on right now.
Um, so I call it the God mouth.
Uh, Edgar Casey talks a lotabout it.
It's like when we're channeling, it's that back part of the
throat chakra where theinformation comes in.
It's not like you can see it,but I can tell you firsthand.

Speaker 1 (28:00):
I remember early on, when I was before I even started
doing this work, like I,started hearing things and being
like what is wrong with me?

Speaker 3 (28:07):
Are men talking to me in my ear in?
My head but like feeling this, this tension.
So when I'm sitting there ummeditating and answers will come
through and I usually put themin my newsletter or I'll do
blogs right We'll feel thattension and I realized that's,

(28:28):
that's what's coming through.
If I'm doing medium work Causewe didn't really talk about that
I, I, I, I see that.

Speaker 2 (28:34):
Me too.
I get it.
Yeah, I'm sure you do.

Speaker 3 (28:38):
Yay, I crossed them over all that.
but when they come in,ultimately it's through here,
sometimes through my third eye,if I'm like seeing what happened
or you know what happened tothem.
But so that's what it's calledis the God mouth, where we are
the receptor of that fast movinginformation that's coming in.
It's like we're translating itthrough the back of our neck.
Yeah, so I be.

(28:59):
You can look up Edgar Cayceneck exercises.
It's like you bring your headup and down and to the side.
It feels good.
Anyway, it's good for the brainand for the blood flow up to
the head.
But it really opens that up.
And that brings up anotherpoint, which is, you know, a lot
of what I am doing right now isreminding people that the human
voice may not necessarily bethe most authentic.

(29:22):
So now is the best time tochannel.
And it's about religion.
You know, if I'm calling inJesus, I'm not like doing whole.
I work with a lot of recoveringCatholics.
It's more like who was Jesus,as a brother, as a teacher, as
someone who held his arms open,or who was Isis, the Egyptian

(29:43):
goddess, the mother right,mother right.
It doesn't really matter who wechannel, but I do feel that
reinforcing the higher frequencyenergies, channeling that
information, is so valuableright now because we don't know
what truth is always.

Speaker 2 (30:03):
Yeah, well, and I love that invitation because I
think there's a lot of peoplewho are scared or timid to be
put in a position where they canbe available to channel.
And I think there's so much ofit where it's like if you set
yourself up in intention and anintegrity with a specific deity,
someone who you're alreadyfamiliar with and comfortable

(30:25):
with, right Like, you know theirpersonality, you've read about
them, you felt their energy, youknow their personality, you've
read about them, you felt theirenergy, you know their presence,
they know when they're with you, and then to be a vessel, for
that is a healing and clearingexperience in and of itself,
because you're able to bring inthe embodiment of who they are.
And so I'm a I've been a hugefan of deity yoga, where you're

(30:47):
really embodying their energy,their essence.
As you channel, as you bringtheir wisdom forward, and to
feel them in your not even justin your presence, but in your
physical container, it feelsamazing because they're leveling
you up there.
They have that frequency, theyhave that energy of a higher

(31:09):
dimension that usually is prettyintangible for us, and now
we're calling it forward to bepresent with us.
And then then the voice comesthrough, or the message comes
through.
Their knowingness comes throughand you're all.
If you're always in yoursovereignty, if you're always in
your free will, you can all belike okay, now I'm no longer
available for this, and youseparate, right, and so it's

(31:31):
this, this constant recognitionof like, this is who I am, this
is what it feels like to be inunison with a deity, to utilize
their voice forward, to mix withmine, my filter, if you will.
And then what is it like tolike?
Okay, and now I release you.
Thank you for your, yourpresence, your being, your

(31:51):
knowingness, your authenticity, their, whatever it is that was
brought forward, and now we'reseparated once again and what
you're left with is thisblessing of this higher ascended
energy.
And so it feels amazing andthis is just one technique to
like yeah, it's one way toreally bust right out of the the
chaotic, um disrupted heavyenergy that we're all feeling

(32:13):
right now is like do that work?
Whether it's a personalpractice that you're doing just
for yourself, or you're doing itlike as a channeling for a
group?

Speaker 3 (32:22):
Yeah, yeah, it's interesting.
I've never heard of deity yoga.
I love that, like I don't.
I don't do yoga as a regularpractice but I would do that for
sure.
Wow, just so.
So healing on so many levels.
I was going to say.
I think where most peoplestruggle is and this is where I
love teaching, and I'm sure youdo too it's like, well, I can't

(32:45):
talk to Buddha, like who am I?
You know, there's this, there'sa self-worth thing too.
So feeling that presence andreally embracing, and I love it
when people like start hearing,sensing.
It's not like I'm hearingvoices like my husband talking
to me out there, for example,it's it's like in my head and
it's just kind of knowing.
This is the message I need tofeel hear, sense right now.

(33:07):
Um, and then just start writingdown what you're getting,
because and I'll say this, if alot of your listeners do, they
do this.

Speaker 2 (33:19):
No, I would say no.
This is something that I'vebeen practicing ever since I
went to Japan for my Reikipilgrimage.
I'm really understanding how dowe connect with Buddha, how do
we connect with the deities ofMount Karama and how are they
connected to the Reikipilgrimage.
But I'm really understandinghow do we connect with Buddha,
how do we connect with thedeities of Mount Karama and how
are they connected to the Reikisymbols.
So this is something I teach inmy, like, reiki masters
masterclass.
Like it's not informationreadily accessible to the West.

(33:42):
It's something that's heldsacred in Japan, amongst the
Reiki practitioners there, andit's just been lost.
It's been lost to the West.
So I'm reclaiming a lot ofthose original practices and no,
and learning how to okay, here's the main practice of it.
And then, how can we do it withother deities?

(34:02):
How can we do it with the onesthat were more readily available
for, whether that's Archangel, michael or that is, um, you know
, shiva or whoever it may be.
Yeah, that's.

Speaker 3 (34:15):
That's really cool.
I like that oh.

Speaker 2 (34:16):
I'd love to go to Japan.
We have our, our pilgrimagecoming up again in May.
There's a couple more spotsleft.
You're welcome to join.
Hey, what, what is it?
We'll, we'll, we'll, help youput that.
What is that?
May 9th through the 16th, withroots of life.
Bruce taylor is a verytraditional reiki uh teacher,

(34:37):
trainer and um.
He does these amazingpilgrimages where we really get
to the shamanic roots of reiki.
We meet the head priests and goto temple spaces that are
typically unopened to the public.
It's the, it is a pilgrimage,it it will change your life,
like I absolutely, absolutelylove it.
And so I was introduced to alot of these concepts that are

(34:58):
so unfamiliar to the West.
But it it totally makes sense, and so I've been practicing ways
in which I can bring in theseenergies and really feel their
power, their presence throughoutmy body.

Speaker 3 (35:11):
Yeah, I mean they're ancient, this is stuff that
they've been doing for thousandsof years and I mean we can get
into, like what happened, thatwhole.
Let's just pretend like that'snot happening and look more at
where we are right now.
Right, totally Scientific, quantitative, I do think that
we're moving back into thequalitative aspects of being and

(35:32):
realizing.
That's why we do what we do.
The intuitive strengthening.
Yeah, I mean, I could go off ona total tangent.
You saw me do it in my head.

Speaker 2 (35:44):
And I'm like we could go there.
We can totally go there.

Speaker 3 (35:49):
Maybe in another podcast We'll see.
I mean, oh no, no, maybe inanother podcast We'll see.
I mean, maybe people havequestions stemming from this one
, but yeah that sounds amazing.
Unfortunately, I already havesomething those dates, but I
will stay tuned because thatsounds like it's right up my
alley.
That's pretty awesome.

Speaker 2 (36:05):
Yeah, for sure, for sure.
So what other practices do youlike to do to kind of help you
find your center space, likewhat are your?

Speaker 3 (36:13):
go-tos.
Well, I have one of the firstthings I teach in the
metamorphosis.
The mentorship that I do isjust how to open space right.
You do it with the directionsright.
I have golden pillars that I use, one of the center, and they
all connect and they extend upto the heavens, down to the core
of the earth, and I say thisbecause it doesn't matter what

(36:36):
practice you're using, just keyback to like when I was in fifth
grade playing with ouija boards, and I go, oh my god, like it's
whatever we were inviting in,because we had no idea what we
were doing like I think about itnow.
I mean there's, and it's not adefense mechanism or like a
protective shield, it's more oflike it's intention.

(36:57):
Yep, I said it earlier, it'sall about the intention I'm
opening and holding the space tobring in these aspects of light
and love to this planet, because she needs it, we need it
.
So that's one.
I do open up the space.
I I'm constantly checking whereI am, like physically, like
what's my body doing, how am Ifeeling emotionally, mentally,

(37:18):
where I'm into it, and it'squick opening up like a flower
in the top of my head, a Lotus, and it just shoots up, connects,
and then I connect myselfdirectly to the earth as well.
Um, one of my favorites, though, is I'll give you actually two
Um.
There are a lot of times where Ifeel like, because of who I am

(37:40):
and I'm, I'm just.
I always feel like I'm justopen and I I don't.
I can, I can absorb and buffera lot.
You probably get that too, yeah, but what happens is, like I
said, that feeling in my body, that kind of solar plexus like
Ooh, someone's dumping on meright now, and I can feel it.
And I start like is this mine?
No, um, the minute that I feelit, if it's a client, if it's a

(38:00):
family member, a friend orwhatever, I'll pretend like I'm
in a limousine, driving and theytaught this to me.
Like, do this?
I'm driving in the limousineand the person's talking and I'm
like I'm going to roll up thewindow because I'm just going to
put, like, glass in front of meso that it's pelting off the
glass instead of absorbing intomy build.
Yes, works, like I.

(38:21):
Just so I'll be like, yes, doing it, but it absolutely
makes a difference.
The minute that I start feelingthat in my body like that, oh,
this is not feeling good.

Speaker 2 (38:33):
Yeah, yeah, and that visualization of, like, I'm just
creating this glass plate.
They can still see me, but I'mnot having to absorb at all.
Yeah.

Speaker 3 (38:43):
They talk about that with narcissists too.
Um, I don't know if you knowCindy Dale.
She's amazing.
Um, c Y, n, d, I, d, a, uh, l,e.
She's one of the mentors that Iwork with and she just uh,
anyway, she, she talks a lotabout, uh, healers and
narcissists, and those tworeally go hand in hand,
unfortunately, because thehealer always wants to heal, the

(39:03):
narcissist always wants to finda better right.

Speaker 2 (39:05):
Yeah, that was my first marriage.
Yeah.

Speaker 3 (39:11):
But she talks about putting up a disco ball around
you because basically what theydo as narcissists is they'll
reflect back to you all thebeauty that you are in the onset
, and then they get you and theyhook you in and then you're
like, oh, oh, my gosh, well, they had this tragic childhood.
I'm going to save them.
And you know all the.
We don't mean to do it, butshe's like the minute that you
catch that, put the mirrors upand reflect back to them what

(39:34):
they're unloading onto you, andthey do it, they're, they're
brilliant at it, yeah, yeah, so,so that's, that's one, or maybe
two the, the, the limo driverand the mirrors.
The other one that I like is Ilike working with cherub angels.
Some people use a waterfall, butlike when I pick something up,

(39:55):
so I do that breath, work, breathing in my name, breathing
out that person or situation, and then I will close my eyes,
like after I do a reading, several readings in a row, for
example or after my day ofworking with my mentees, I'll
just imagine this pink liquidlight coming down through the
top of my head, and I alwaysenvision it like there are three

(40:15):
little angels above me andthey're holding, like glass,
pictures of this pink liquidhealing light and I can see
their little wings.
I can see their chubby cheeksand pudgy little bellies and
diapers.
Whether they're real or not,it's imagination, right?
Yes, yes, yes.
And then it will just pour thatpink liquid healing light down
through my crown and I canliterally even now feel it

(40:37):
moving all through my body, likemaking my organs sparkle like
Mr Clean.
Remember those commercials andall the way down my legs to my
feet and just let it flow out myfeet picking up the residues.
I love that.

Speaker 2 (40:54):
I love that.
That's beautiful.

Speaker 3 (40:56):
And then I waited a little to have angel mommies.
So, oh, that's great, that's sofun, it just it makes me smile.
But we for that.
That cleansing part is huge forsure.

Speaker 2 (41:09):
Yeah, so we have like the cleansing practices and
then just like the thisknowingness, this intention
setting of what I'm availablefor for today.
You know, like I think when wewake up in the morning, we go
straight to go, go, go, rush, rush, rush, do all of the things
.
There's something that I thinkin myself what I recognize when
I really started makingenergetic shifts in my life was

(41:32):
I went from this frantic morningenergy into a state of flow in
the morning and now, like I usedto get so dysregulated just by
like trying to get my kids outthe door and making everyone's
breakfast and making like noteating myself and like rush,
rush, rush, rush into.
I'm worthy of the five minutesit takes to like get centered in

(41:53):
the morning, to do a morningmeditation or to take an
intentional shower, versus likejust thinking of all the things
I have to do in my brain.
Right, and like setting yourday up.
Like one of my favorite thingsto do in the morning is to have
a morning music playlist thatgets me motivated, that gets me
excited that I can dance throughmy morning and my hour song.

(42:13):
So if I'm making, I'm doing allthe same things.
I'm making the breakfast, I'mpacking the lunches and now I'm
like I get to eat.
While I'm doing that and I'mmoving my body, I'm feeling the
music, I'm listening to thelyrics and I'm vibing with it.
So it's a high vibe, intentional music set that makes
me feel good.

(42:34):
So it's kind of like whateveris your music, I don't care what
genre it is, but does it helpyou feel leveled up, excited for
the day, knowing that your dayis a blessed day, and then
starting in that energy so thatwhen things show up, you're
using all of what Jess just justgave us of going Nope, that's

(42:54):
not mine.
Oh, nope, that's not not mine.
I can clear that, I can movethat through and you're staying
on this wavelength of like highvibe, intentional energy.
Yes.

Speaker 3 (43:05):
I love.
Well, what's funny is that'swhat Isabella, my daughter and I
do when she wakes up, makepancakes and we listen to music
and it, just it.
It sets this tone.
So I love that you're thatyou're doing it too.

Speaker 2 (43:20):
Absolutely.
If I could promote that toeveryone because it's doable.
Like, get your Pandora or yourSpotify or whatever playlist
that you have and play positive, intentional music to set your
day off Right.
Like if you're waking up andyou're listening to Money
Marketplace and NPR.
Is that setting your vibe forthe day?

(43:40):
It is, it is, but is that thevibe you want?

Speaker 3 (43:44):
Right, right, like, what do you want to be
introducing?
Absolutely, yeah, I love that.
The other thing, too, I wasgoing to mention it earlier but
I'm looking outside.
I love cardinals.

Speaker 1 (44:01):
There's a whole story there, for another time maybe,
but I look out my window, thereare wrens and squirrels, and
that's the other thing.

Speaker 3 (44:08):
I'm reminded every day, too, that the animals speak
to us.
I'm sure you talk about it aswell, absolutely, that the
animals speak to us.
I'm sure you talk about it aswell, absolutely.
So when we're stuck.
Yesterday, an owl a barred owlwas sitting right outside our
bathroom window.
It's on my Instagram, so if youwant to look, it's just my name
and YSP.
But it just sat there and myhusband's like banging on the

(44:31):
window.
I'm like stop, he's going tofly away.
But the owl showed up right ata time when, um, like, I started
teaching this online groupclass, and they always show up
in the midst of these powerfulthings that I'm about to
introduce.
Yes, yeah, you're like.

Speaker 1 (44:48):
you don't need to be nervous, We've got this.

Speaker 3 (44:50):
And the owl was just like hey, what's up?
Let me turn my head this way,Check you out.
Turn my head that way, Totallychill, and I'm like that is the
most beautiful thing.
But those little, I mean Idon't see an owl every day, but
when they show up, yeah it'shuge.
But the squirrel squirrelsabout planting seeds, the wren
is about, like for me, the maleand female wrens have they?
they carry the load.

(45:11):
It's about the balance ofmasculine, feminine.
So every animal, creature, color, number, everything means
something and if we can stoplong enough to see that that'll,
that's another message.

Speaker 2 (45:28):
It's like the channeling Right, and I feel
like if we're watching for thesigns of support, like looking,
knowing that the universe isshowing up for us, whether that
is in, you know, a feather andyou're on your path, or the
animals showing up at yourwindow, or if you're out for a
walk and you see a rainbow, likewhatever it is like there's

(45:50):
that space of gratitude that thenatural world is trying to
speak to us and it's it allcomes to that space of are you
an open and available to evensee the blessings are all around
you?
Yeah, you know, like so oftenwhen we're in this heavy energy,
our noses to the grindstone,we're keeping our note, our head

(46:11):
down, we're, we're walking onthe path and we're not lifting
our heads up to seeing thebeauty of the world all around
us and we just dismiss it.
And what if we didn't?
What if we stopped and smelledthe roses?
What if we took our time?
What if we were more mindfulabout?
What are the energy that we'reusing to have repeated thought

(46:31):
and thought patterns, like somuch of our subconscious is just
repeat again and again andagain, overthinking the
conversations that we had or theto-do list that we have.
And what if we can quiet thatall down, to recognize, wow, the
daffodils are starting to peakout, or whatever natural beauty

(46:54):
is around you.
Can we honor that, can wewitness that when we're washing
the dishes, when we're wateringthe plants, when we're doing our
mundane tasks, can we be in astate of gratitude rather than
an of our brain patterns of justrepeated thoughts?
Because they're, they're just,they're just too much.
They're just too much.

Speaker 3 (47:14):
They are.
It's using that mind and hearttime wisely.
And, like you said, grace, Iagree.
Sometimes I'm like, oh my gosh, why am I thinking about this
thing again?

Speaker 2 (47:27):
I teach this I should Right, uh-huh.

Speaker 3 (47:34):
But yeah, it's about making good, positive use of
that time when we can rememberto do so again.

Speaker 2 (47:42):
Yeah, and it can be, it becomes easier.
I think it starts with a bit oflike thought catching like oh,
there's that pattern again.
It's having that awareness.
You know so much of our healingprocess, meaning the awareness
to to come first.
Awareness is always the firststep of healing.
So, oh there, I'm in a pattern.
Oh there, I had that reactionthat, like I always do, but I
want to intentionally change it,like, whatever it is like

(48:04):
having the awareness of I'm.
I'm creating my thoughts, I'mcreating that, my external
reality of my situations.
Can I take responsibility ofthat?
And therefore I'm moving out ofvictimhood mode and into
empowerment of going.
I choose what I get to see, Ichoose what I get to experience,

(48:25):
I choose the situations I'm inand that, therefore, I'm going
to be more intentional aboutwhich circles I participate in,
what thoughts I participate in.
But it all comes down toawareness of like.
How does that show make me feel?
How does scrolling make me feel?
Like, whatever it may be,whatever activity it is of going
, and sometimes it's just likeI'm in a car and I'm mad at the

(48:48):
traffic and I'm in a spiral oflike, frustration of going.
I can make a new choice, evenhere, of giving out a
compassionate, loving energy andthen turning on the music to
something positive, listening toa positive podcast.
That's positive, changing theenergy from within to going.
I have another choice.
I did this the other day.

(49:08):
I was really I think I wasreally angry or frustrated, I
had just an immense amount ofemotions and I'm like what can I
do right now to switch out ofthis energy?
And I turned on a guidedvisualization and it was an hour
long, like it was a long one,and I was like a completely

(49:28):
different person by the time itended.
I was so grateful for it.
I'm like I have the 45 minutes,I have the hour to do this
container because I am justpissed off right now, like life
could.
Like I'm so grateful for it.
I'm like I have the 45 minutes,I have the hour to do this
container because I am justpissed off right now, like life
could, like I'm so mad, likewhatever it was and going.
I'm recognizing my energy.
What's going to shift me out ofit?
And to do a whole hour.
I think I went.
It was like I set it all up.

(49:49):
I was like I'm going to do anEpsom salt bath with the
meditation.
I'm going to put the essentialoils in, I'm going to light the
candles, I'm going to do ittotally up because I got to get
out of this energy Right.
And so you give yourself theopportunity.
Like it's okay that you'refrustrated, it's okay and you

(50:10):
have a choice to like do youwant to stay in it or do you
want to shift out of it?
What do you need to shift outof it?
It could have been five minutesfor someone else.
I needed a freaking hour, likeI needed the whole thing.

Speaker 3 (50:23):
Um, yeah, and if you're trapped, like in an
office or you're in a placewhere you obviously can't excuse
me, I'm gonna go to thebathroom and make an Epsom salt
bath in the toilet.
Toilet, Just finding somethinggetting outside making an excuse
.
Yeah, Again, there's thatnumber four again, Like what can

(50:43):
you foundationally do?
But I love it for me, like withtraffic.
I just it's a it's a personalkind of joke, Like I don't like
when people ride my tail andit's an aside, but I'm just
gonna throw it out there Causeit's funny.
I don't like when people ridemy tail and it's an aside, but
I'm just gonna throw it outthere because it's funny.

Speaker 2 (50:56):
I don't like it.
It makes me nervous.
My husband does it to otherpeople and I like punch him
Right.

Speaker 3 (50:59):
Yep, yep.
So when I see that, and then Isee people doing it to me, I
just, I just want to stop my car, slam on the brakes, walk out
and tell him to back the F off.
But I don't.
Instead, what I imagined andthis was advice from a Buddhist
that I was friends with who saidimagine that they just have to

(51:24):
take a really big dump andthey're trying to find a toilet.

Speaker 2 (51:29):
Right, that will elicit that compassion right
away.

Speaker 3 (51:33):
It's compassion and humor, because then I'm like, oh
my God, like the anguish theymust be going through right now
as opposed to it being about me,it becomes like it really does
become.
Oh, that is their stuff, yeah, they just have to poop.
Really bad, I mean, it's like, yeah, you're making it up, but
it does, or they have a pregnantwife and their passenger seat
who's about to have a baby.
Like recreating the story.

(51:55):
Yes, so that it doesn't becomeabout us, or it isn't.
We realized wait, this isn'teven really about me to begin
with.
It's hard to do, but once youcan like shift the neurological
pathways, like our needs, responses to it, like you were
saying, it's a challenge, but itstarts to sink in.
Yeah, for sure, I love that, Ilove that.

(52:15):
And then it benefits everybody.
It's not just you know, it's anonverbal benefit.

Speaker 2 (52:22):
Right, well, and I think that, like loving this
conversation because, like youcan see, there's so many small,
little tangible things that wecan have the exit to, like it's
accessible to everyone.
You don't have to study foryears and years and years to do
these practices, it's just aboutstarting with.
What can you do today?
What's going to help you feelgood today?

(52:43):
And it does, and I think that'sso much of you know.
A lot of times, energy workers, healers, will be down on their
self because they're not thislove and light will be down on
their self because they're notthis love and light, beautiful
creature, a hundred percent ofthe time, and I'm like no one is
, no one, no one is.
We are all human as well asspiritual beings, and we're

(53:05):
wearing a human suit in anextremely an extreme time in
this world, right, so, like it'sokay and what's going to feel
good, like and I think it'salways like, do the thing that
feels good, what's the nextthing you could do that's going
to feel good?
And and that just having thatquestion is going to help you

(53:26):
shift.

Speaker 3 (53:27):
Yeah, for sure.

Speaker 2 (53:32):
Oh gosh, the whole.
Like I'm a, I'm a spiritualbeing in a human suit, it's.

Speaker 3 (53:37):
It can be rough down here, you guys it can't, and you
know it too like um being intune with these with with higher
frequencies sometimes I'm likewell, why don't you come down
here?

Speaker 2 (53:51):
yeah, can you just come fix it, please make it, and
they.

Speaker 3 (53:56):
That's a divine timing thing.

Speaker 2 (53:57):
Whoa, my goodness, that's tough Well and I feel
like, as like a star seed, likethey are, you know, like of
course we are, of course we'rethere, we were.
You are a star seed, embodiedin this human suit, doing the
work, because, no, we can'tphysically come down and like
shift politics, but we can standso many star seeds who are

(54:22):
innately aware of the energythat's happening to help
everyone shift up and out.
That is the, that is the beautyof all of this Like so no, they
can't directly influence, butthey can indirectly.
I'm here and directly becauseof them, shifting timelines and
shifting energies and doing thework, and so I'm like, thank you

(54:42):
for being here.

Speaker 3 (54:45):
Yeah, um, I like to make jokes out of it and give
them a hard time.
You're like no, but it's true.
And I was going to say say too,I think a lot of us are.
Um, I feel sense that a lot ofus are potentially in situations

(55:05):
which seem kind of hopeless, and a lot of it is.
And, um, I mean, I grew up my,my family was a recovering
alcoholic house.
I grew up with the 12 steps andElena and the serenity prayer
and I was going to say I mean, alot of what I'm telling people
right now too is to it's likerelinquish the control You've

(55:26):
got to give it to the powersthat be.
Yeah, and that's really hardfor those of us who are fixers,
who are able to do things, tochange things, to plant seeds of
hope and love in situationswhere it's just it's impossible,
where the other person is theonly person that can make that
change.

Speaker 2 (55:47):
Yes, absolutely.
I share this with my studentsall the time of like we can't
want the healing more than theother person.
Right, it won't work, it won'twork.
And then you're you're wastingyour energy or wasting your time
, you're wasting your talents onsomeone who isn't open for

(56:07):
healing.
They're not open for change.
What's the point?
So, yeah, right, and so the thethen focus on you, be the
example of transformation, bethe example of empowerment and
then hopefully, in theirwitnessing of that, they'll
choose that they're ready toheal and that they want change.

Speaker 3 (56:29):
And sometimes they have to go through some hefty
stuff and you have to sit thereand just go.
Oh my gosh, it's trust, it'sfaith.
These are the higher frequencyvirtues that we're all um as
healers working on right now.
So I'm kind of sending out Idon't know who, whoever's
listening in right now.
If you're going through that, Iam sending such huge hugs.

(56:50):
I know you are too Like it's,it's, it's been all around me,
but it's, it's actually a partof our leveling up.

Speaker 2 (56:59):
You know that Absolutely and, on that note, I
think this is has been a reallybeautiful, amazing conversation
with lots of tangible techniquesthat everyone can utilize.
I would love for you to sharewith our audience.
