What does it truly mean to be the "Greatest Of All Time"? Beyond sports legends and celebrities, there lies a profound truth about your own greatness that's hiding in plain sight.

Your fingerprints, retina pattern, and voice are completely unique to you—sophisticated biological signatures that have never existed before and never will again. This level of customization isn't random; it suggests you were intentionally designed for something extraordinary. The paradox? Everyone else shares this same uniqueness, making us all simultaneously special and common in our distinctiveness.

When we celebrate certain individuals for their achievements while dismissing others, we miss the deeper wisdom: we were all created to contribute something different. Not everyone will climb Mount Everest or solve quantum physics equations—and that's precisely the point. Our differences create a tapestry of complementary abilities that enrich our collective experience. The true challenge isn't competing with others but discovering our authentic purpose.

As Marianne Williamson powerfully articulates in "Our Deepest Fear," what truly scares us isn't our inadequacy but our immense power. Many of us dim our light to avoid making others uncomfortable, but this serves neither us nor the world. Like the sure-footed mountain goat traversing seemingly impossible terrain, we must be resolute in expressing our gifts, regardless of external validation or recognition.

Your greatest gift to the world isn't shrinking to accommodate others' insecurities—it's shining so brightly that you unconsciously grant permission for everyone around you to do the same. When you embrace your unique capabilities, you don't diminish others—you elevate them.

Speaker 1 (00:24):
Thank you for listening to this episode of
Wise Black Pearls.
We're going to talk about thegoat today, and when I say the
goat, what comes to mind?
Or, for that matter, who comesto mind?
Do you have an image of a goaton the side of a mountain, on a
sheer cliff, looking like he wasabout to fall, but he's

(00:46):
sure-footed and resolute aboutgetting where he's going?
Or do you get an image ofMuhammad Ali, the greatest of
all time?
That's what the letters in theword goat stands for.
It's an acronym.
It's when you make a word outof the first letter of other

(01:08):
words to come up with the wordthat you're using.
So we're going to talk aboutthe word GOAT today and we're
going to talk about what itmeans to you and how you can
become a GOAT.
You see, the way we're createdreally is the evidence that you
need to know that you alreadyare the greatest of all time.

(01:28):
Take a moment and think aboutwhy the Creator built you the
way you were built, with yourown individual fingerprints.
No one else on the planet hasit like you do, or your retina.
No other person living or thatever lived before you had your

(01:50):
retina, your voice boxTechnology today can recognize
your specific voice print.
It's pretty amazing thatsomeone, something, saw fit to
make you so incredibly unique,so specialized, custom-made even

(02:13):
, and that distinguishes youfrom everyone else on the planet
.
But here's the part that wealso get confused it also makes
us, just like everyone else onthe planet, unique and special.
So when we celebrate peoplethat do amazing things, it's a

(02:37):
great thing, but when we hate onpeople, it's a waste of time
and energy, because they're justlike us.
They're unique and special aswell, and that's why it's
critically important tounderstand, recognize,
acknowledge and even celebratethe differences between us.

(03:00):
We were all put here uniquelyso we could do something
different, and it may not besomething that everyone wants to
celebrate.
There are people who have doneamazing things and we never hear
about them or see them onsocial media or listen to them

(03:25):
on podcasts or, for that matter, even know their names.
But they're here, they're amongus, they're unique, they're
amazing and they're just likeyou.
I mean, really, how excitedwould it be if everybody could

(03:47):
do a dunk on a basketball courtor if everyone could solve the
mystery of black holes, ifeveryone understood quantum
physics, if everyone knew andhad the ability to hike to the
top of Mount Everest or swimfrom Cuba to Miami.

(04:13):
We all have our own specialgifts and our own special
ability, and the most difficultjob we'll have in our life is to
figure out what that is.
But once we find out, once werecognize our reason for being,
there's nothing and no one cankeep us from our greatest and

(04:36):
most important thing Now.
Finding your true identity isone of the easiest and hardest
things you'll ever do.
One of the easiest and hardestthings you'll ever do, because
whenever you start a thing andit feels like it's too difficult
, we tend to stop, we give up,we quit too soon, we stop just

(04:58):
before we get the prize becauseit seems too hard.
But we've also been given thegift to trample down things that
get in our way and in so doingit makes us stronger, it makes
us ready to do the things thatwe were sent here to do.
That makes us great and specialand amazing, and maybe the

(05:21):
world will see it and maybe theywon't.
But the critical thing is tounderstand that you are walking
in your gift, that you aremoving your miracle in a way
like the goat on the side ofthat mountain, that you're
sure-footed, that you'reresolute, that your message is

(05:43):
going to come through and itdoesn't matter if someone agrees
, disagrees, or that they evenknow who you are.
I recommend that everybodylistening to this podcast go to
their library and get a book byMerriam-Williamson A Return to

(06:07):
Love.
I'm about to share a poem fromthat book and I hope it inspires
you and keeps you motivated asyou move towards your special
gift.
We have to remember that ourgifts are not for us, they are
for everyone around us.
Are not for us, they are foreveryone around us.

(06:30):
It's why we need to let ourlight shine as brightly as it
can, and when someone says thatyou've outshined them or
overshadowed them, it's probablybecause they've turned their
light down so low.
They have chosen to hate on youinstead of celebrate with you.
So keep your head up, shineyour bright light, walk in your

(06:57):
gifts and be in joy.
Now I'm going to take a momentand share this poem, our Deepest
Fear, by Marianne Williamsonfrom the book A Return to Love.
The reason why I shared thatpoem with you is because there's

(07:21):
very specific parts of it thatreally resonated with me, the
part that got me when I firstheard it, when she said you
don't serve the world byshrinking so that others won't
be uncomfortable.

(07:41):
I think it's important to knowthat if you're thoughtful,
respectful, clear and conciselisten to me talk about being
concise but if you are then whatyou have to share could quite
possibly be one of the greatestgifts that you could share with

(08:05):
the world.
In much the same way, her poemreally resonated with me and
hopefully it will resonate withyou.
And now our deepest fear fromthe book Return Love by
Merriam-Williamson Our deepestfear is not that we are

(08:26):
inadequate.
Our deepest fear is that we arepowerful beyond measure.
It is our light, not ourdarkness, that most frightens us
.
We ask ourselves who am I to be?
Brilliant, gorgeous, talented,fabulous?
Actually, who are you not to be?
You are a child of God.

(08:48):
Your playing small does notserve the world.
There is nothing enlighteningabout shrinking so that other
people won't feel unsure aroundyou, shrinking so that other
people won't feel unsure aroundyou.
We were born to make manifestthe glory of God that is within
us.
It is not just in some of us,it is in everyone.

(09:12):
And as we let our own lightshine, we consciously give other
people permission to do thesame as we are liberated from
our own fear.
Our presence automaticallyliberates others.

(09:33):
I hope I've given you somefodder for thought that lifts
you up, invigorates you andcreates anticipation and
enthusiasm as you move throughyour day.
