Traffic it's magical.

Speaker 1 (00:45):
What constitutes something being magical?

Speaker 2 (00:48):
I think it's a feeling Right.
It's like an overall feelingyou get when I get that feeling
Nope, not that.

Speaker 1 (00:55):
Not that one, a different one A different,
magical feeling.

Speaker 2 (00:58):
Got it All right.

Anyways, guys, glad you're here.
Yes, we're glad that you havetuned in to our Disney series.
So this summer we just kind offigured everybody's going on
vacations.
We might as well talk aboutsome of our favorite vacations
and our favorite place, which isWalt Disney World.
So so far we've knocked out ourtop 10 list.

Speaker 2 (01:17):
Yes, our tips and tricks.

Speaker 1 (01:19):
Yep, we've talked about Magic Kingdom, we've
talked about Epcot, we've talkedabout Hollywood Studios, we've
done the Animal Kingdom.

Speaker 2 (01:26):
We've done all the four parks.

Speaker 1 (01:28):
And you say to yourself, but that's it right.
I mean that has to be it.

Speaker 2 (01:32):
That has to be it.

Speaker 1 (01:34):
What else could they possibly talk about?
Why am I here?
Well, my friend, I'm glad youasked.

Speaker 2 (01:41):
Did they ask or are we just prompting?

Speaker 1 (01:44):
I asked on their behalf.

Speaker 2 (01:45):
You asked yeah, they were thinking it.

Speaker 1 (01:46):
They were.

Speaker 2 (01:47):
We know.
We know what you were thinking.

Speaker 1 (01:49):
Yeah.
So so, Amber, why, why are theyhere?
Why are they here?
Tell them.

Speaker 2 (01:55):
So you, our friends, are here today on our last of
our Disney series, the lastepisode, because we're going to
talk about things other than theDisney parks that you can do
while at Walt Disney World, andthose things are Visit Disney
Springs, which used to bedowntown Disney.

Speaker 1 (02:12):
I still call it downtown Disney I know it's okay
that you do.

Speaker 2 (02:15):
And the Disney resorts.
There are tons of resorts andthere's fun things that you can
do at the resorts even if you'renot staying there.

Speaker 1 (02:23):
It's true.

Speaker 2 (02:24):
We're going to talk about all of that.

Speaker 1 (02:25):
It's true, so buckle up.

Speaker 2 (02:27):
Click, click.
So maybe you and your familyare.
You know you're taking a tripto Disney, but you don't have
park tickets for every singleday.

Speaker 1 (02:36):
Yeah, or maybe you just want to take a day where
you're like you know what, let'snot go to the park today, we're
going to chill.

Speaker 2 (02:39):
We're going to chill, yeah, but also want to have
some Disney fun, still have thatDisney feeling, disney
experience.
The magical feeling, themagical, so let's talk about
Disney Springs, okay, okay.

Speaker 1 (02:50):
I'm ready.

Speaker 2 (02:52):
So if you're not familiar with Disney Springs, it
is basically like a Disney park.
It's basically like a hugeoutdoor shopping center with
tons of shops and restaurants.
The stores are not all Disneythemed.
There's some nice, just otherkind of stores there, Disney
restaurants, themed restaurants,I mean kind of anything that
you can imagine out at DisneySprings.

Speaker 1 (03:11):
Yeah, there's some really cool restaurants which
are actually some of my favoriterestaurants on Disney property.
Yeah, actually are at DisneySprings.

Speaker 2 (03:19):
Oh, for sure.

Speaker 1 (03:19):
Yeah, so we have one called the T-Rex.
Is it called T-Rex?

Speaker 2 (03:24):
It's called T-Rex Cafe.

Speaker 1 (03:25):
Yeah, t-rex Cafe and there's dinosaurs in there.
But they're like, okay.
So we took the kids when theywere really little.
It's one of our favorite littlememories because then we have
it on video, yeah.
So the kids were little and wewere like put a phone in front
of them or a camera in front ofthem.
We're like, oh, and tell usabout the dinosaurs.
He's like I saw the dinosaursand do, we, will, do, we will Do
, we will Do we are.
And he was just like enamored.

Speaker 2 (03:48):
Every couple of minutes, the animatronic
dinosaurs will come to life.

Speaker 1 (03:52):
So it's like Rainforest Cafe, which there
also is one of those at DisneySprings, but it's like
Rainforest Cafe, but withdinosaurs.

Speaker 2 (03:58):
Yeah.

Speaker 1 (03:58):
Which is great.

Speaker 2 (03:59):
And you know what the food is actually.
It's fantastic, really good.

Speaker 1 (04:03):
I think I had one of the best like salmon.
Yes, I think I had a barbecuesalmon.
Some things are one of the bestthings about it the food is
excellent.

Speaker 2 (04:09):
So, that's a fun one if you have littles, because the
dinosaurs are will, we will, they will, we will.
There's T-Rex Cafe, rainforestCafe, which you mentioned, which
, if you're not familiar withthat, it's like animals
everywhere kind of thing.
They're animatronics.

Speaker 1 (04:23):
Yeah, but this one's inside a giant volcano, yeah,
which erupts every hour.

Speaker 2 (04:28):
Yeah.

Speaker 1 (04:29):
Which is kind of a fun thing to see with your kids.

Speaker 2 (04:31):
It's super fun.
It's fun to do.
You need to do it at least once.

Speaker 1 (04:34):
You know what I think it's important for me to tell
just a quick little aside story.

Speaker 2 (04:37):
Okay.

Speaker 1 (04:39):
So we've loved Disney for a long time.
Some of our friends have talkedabout taking their kids to
Disney.
You're like, oh, it's tooexpensive and they don't really
remember it.
So we're just going to go toDisney Springs.
So they just went and tooktheir kids to Disney Springs and
told their kids that they wentto Disney, which and it was okay
.
Look, they did.

Speaker 2 (04:56):
To a little child who doesn't remember, and there's
like the big, huge Disney store,so you take them in there.

Speaker 1 (05:02):
But I was being obnoxious so I asked their kids
like what was your favorite ride?
Yeah, and they're like shut up.

Speaker 2 (05:09):
There's a little train and a carousel out there.

Speaker 1 (05:12):
There it is, that is true, that is true.

Speaker 2 (05:15):
You know a Disney park, but it's still fun, Super
fun to go.
One of our favorite sort of, Iguess, casual dining spots that
maybe is not super expensive iscalled Earl of Sandwich.

Speaker 1 (05:26):
Yes, earl, as in like a royal Earl, like a duke or an
Earl.
Like a duke.

Speaker 2 (05:32):
Earl of Sandwich.

Speaker 1 (05:33):
Yep, another side note I'm just going to sit here
and do Okay.

Speaker 2 (05:37):
Here's a word of the week.
You're just doing side notes.
I'm talking and you're justgoing to do You're going to do
content.

Speaker 1 (05:40):
I'm going to do side notes.
Neat, okay, I'm going to grabit, enjoy this Jack's freshman
year of high school, he was apart of homecoming court.

Speaker 2 (05:50):
Yes.

Speaker 1 (05:51):
And so there's a homecoming king and queen and
there's prince and princess, andthey go down the royal line.
Well, jack was a freshman whenhe was nominated for this, and
so the female is the duchess andthe male is Duke.
He didn't know this term, so hejust thought it was dutch and
duchess, so he was like.

(06:12):
He came home one day and he waslike hey, I got voted, I voted
for homecoming dutch and I waslike what.

Speaker 2 (06:17):
What is that?

Speaker 1 (06:18):
And so, yeah, just low key, we call Jack the dutch.

Speaker 2 (06:21):
So if you happen to see Jack walking around a real
life, just call him dutch.
It's fun, he loves it, thedutch Okay.

Speaker 1 (06:28):
Back to Earl of Sandwich, which was not one of
the homecoming designations.

Speaker 2 (06:32):
This sandwich shop is phenomenal, so good.
Oh my gosh, we still talk aboutit.
It's like hot sandwiches andthey're all super good.
So definitely, if you're atDisney Springs, hit up Earl of
Sandwich.
You won't regret it.

Speaker 1 (06:42):
Yeah, so we opened up a bakery called okay.
So this isn't, it's not like aDisney IP type thing, it's
called Gideon's Bakery.

Speaker 2 (06:52):
What is IP for people who don't?

Speaker 1 (06:53):
know Intellectual property.

Speaker 2 (06:55):
Which means what?

Speaker 1 (06:58):
It means an idea or a character that Disney owns.

Speaker 2 (07:03):
Got it, thank you.

Speaker 1 (07:05):
So Aladdin would be an IP.

Speaker 2 (07:06):
Correct.

Speaker 1 (07:07):
So.
But Gideon's Bakery?
No, it's not.
It has its own.
It's not owned by Disney, eventhough they have a space in
Disney Springs, right?
So Gideon's Bakery, it's almostlike okay, I don't know how to
describe it it's like a hauntedmansion.
If you got to go inside ahaunted mansion, there was a
bakery in there.
Pretty much I mean it's kind ofwhat it is, but like when I'm
telling you that the cookies arelike as big as your face.

Speaker 2 (07:25):
They're the size of a plate, like an actual plate.
They weigh a half a pound.

Speaker 1 (07:28):
Yeah, they're like a half pound cookies and they're
the best cookie you've ever had.
But you have to wait in a line.
And when I'm saying wait in aline, sometimes the wait's like
an hour.
So like vote for your leastfavorite family member, Say, hey
, we're going to go to exploreDisney Springs and have fun.
You're going to wait in line atGideon's.

Speaker 2 (07:48):
But does that mean they get to have like first bite
of the cookie, or is there likea reward for that?

Speaker 1 (07:53):
And I think the reward is that they can increase
their favoritism within thefamily.

Speaker 2 (08:01):
They can move up from Dutch, so they know that
they're not liked in the family.
They know, they know.

Speaker 1 (08:07):
And they can move up from Dutch to Prince in the
lineage of the family.
Be like look, you're the Dutch,You're the Dutch.

Speaker 2 (08:16):
But if you wait in line at Gideon's, you can be the
prince.
Make sure you check outGideon's Bakery as well if
you're out there.
It's so good.

Speaker 1 (08:23):
It's really good.
Oh, there is another actualattraction there that I've never
done and never will do ever.
So right behind the Starbucksin Disney Springs there's the
giant hot air balloon and mostlikely if you've been around on
Disney property, you've seenthis hot air balloon go up.

Speaker 2 (08:40):
Yeah, you can see it from the highway.
You see it from all over, Fromall the parks just about.

Speaker 1 (08:44):
So there's a hot air balloon.
It's tethered to the ground.
You can go up in it and itgives you like an awesome view
of Disney property Me, no, gothere, nope not gonna happen.

Speaker 2 (08:53):
I'm gonna get you to do it one day.
You won't, it is my life goalthere is not a tether that has
ever tethered.

Speaker 1 (09:03):
That tethers enough to keep me on the ground.

Speaker 2 (09:07):
It's not gonna like release and go floating off into
nowhere.

Speaker 1 (09:11):
No, but I've seen it like start moving in the wind
and stuff.

Speaker 2 (09:14):
Okay, we will pick a not windy day, hard pass, we're
gonna do it.

Speaker 1 (09:17):
Hard pass on the giant hot air balloon at Disney
Springs.

Speaker 2 (09:20):
So Disney Springs great place to go Check it out.

Speaker 1 (09:23):
Also really fun places to go the resorts, I
think, okay.
So most people think that whenthe only way you can go to a
Disney resort is if you'restaying at the Disney resort,
okay, wrong, okay wrong.

Speaker 2 (09:36):
That's the parent.
That is a parent noise that youjust made.

Speaker 1 (09:38):
Yep, I did.
It's like put that down, Eh, ehso.

Speaker 2 (09:43):
It's universally understood.

Speaker 1 (09:45):
Our kids listening to this podcast just got like PTSD
.

Speaker 2 (09:48):
Yeah, oh God, what did I do?
Oh, what was I doing?

Speaker 1 (09:50):
They heard, eh, and they're like what did I do?
Anyway, so you can go to any ofthe Disney resorts.
You can either go and havedinner there.
There are restaurants, variousrestaurants.

Speaker 2 (10:00):
So good, Different Disney resorts which are
fantastic.

Speaker 1 (10:02):
We'll cover some of those Also.
You can just go kinda explore.
So one of my favorite times ofyear at Disney is Christmas.
It always is.
Christmas is amazing at WaltDisney World and one of the
coolest things that we've everdone is for my birthday.
One year we got a massive groupof people together, a bunch of
our friends and family, and wewent to all the different Disney

(10:24):
resorts just to go see theirChristmas trees, and there are
some of them that you canactually walk from one resort to
another, and so we walkedaround go to see the Christmas
tree you see in the big giantgingerbread village that was at
the Grand Floridian.
That was really cool.
The incredibly massiveChristmas tree that's at the
Wilnerness Lodge.
It's just so cool.

(10:45):
So there are a lot of reallyfun experiences that are at the
resorts.

Speaker 2 (10:49):
Just go and hang out at the resorts.
You can walk around, you can.

Speaker 1 (10:54):
Look, when we lived at Walt Disney World which is
the whole reason that we'redoing this whole podcast series
is because we're experts andwhatnot I used to take my laptop
and just go work at thefireplace at the Wilnerness
Lodge At Wilnerness Lodge, likeall the time I would just post
up here's fireplace this is agreat place to work, yeah it was
amazing.
It made me feel like I was inthe mountains.

Speaker 2 (11:13):
So our family has stayed in a couple of them.
We stayed at the All StarResort, all Star Sports, excuse
me, all Star Sports, resortSports.

Speaker 1 (11:21):
Resort.

Speaker 2 (11:22):
When the boys were younger and they loved it, they
thought it was a blast.
I mean, all the resorts arethemed so well.
The grounds are really themedso you can run around and enjoy
those.

Speaker 1 (11:32):
And we've also stayed at the Port Orleans Resort, yep
that was the very first onethat we ever stayed at.
Yes, and it was.
It's obviously like Mardi Grasthemed and whatnot, which was so
cool, and so they give likeMardi Gras beads and coins.

Speaker 2 (11:48):
Yeah.

Speaker 1 (11:49):
And so Jack had never been to Disney World.
So we went down, we went to gostay there, and there's this guy
that opens the door, says hellothere, friend, and gives Jack
beads and this little coin andhe goes.
Why did they give me this?
Why do I have this?
Why did they give me this?
Yeah, it was great.

Speaker 2 (12:04):
Yeah, so we've stayed at those.
I'm sure staying at the resortsare amazing and wonderful, but
we're just saying if that's nothow you roll.

Speaker 1 (12:14):
Which, look, I we've said it before on one of the
podcast episodes that normallywe would suggest staying off
different property.
It's a lot cheaper, it's a goodway to do it, but if you, if
you want to go and hang out theresource, they're great place to
hang out.
So there's a couple differentways you can get around to like,
connect the resource.
Some of the resorts areconnected, so there's the
monorail resorts, which are allconnected via the monorail, and

(12:36):
it's let's see, the GrandFloridian.

Speaker 2 (12:38):
The Grand Floridian and the Polynesian Resort, which
is my favorite and contemporaryand the contemporary yeah and
then wilderness lodge you eitherhave to drive to or you can
take a boat to you can't take aferry boat, that's right.

Speaker 1 (12:50):
Yes over from Magic Kingdom over there.

Speaker 2 (12:52):
So we're gonna focus on those four, just for this
sake, just because there's a lotto talk about, and I think
those are the ones that wemainly hung out at around Magic
Kingdom, for sure.
So we talked about thecontemporary, the wilderness
lodge, polynesian and GrandFloridian.
Let's see.
So, okay, let's talk about thepoly, because you love the
Polynesian, that's my favoriteone, is it?
That's your favorite?

Speaker 1 (13:13):
Yeah, and I really don't have like a super concrete
reason of why that's myfavorite one, I think it's the
smell.
I love the smell, Guys.
The smell of the PolynesianResort is the best thing in the
world.
It smells tropical and likeFruity.
I don't know how do youdescribe smells.

Speaker 2 (13:33):
I don't know, but Disney knows they know how to do
that though.
They know how to attachfeelings to smell?

Speaker 1 (13:39):
I can smell it.

Speaker 2 (13:40):
They pump that smell through that whole building.

Speaker 1 (13:42):
I do, and it's amazing as soon as you walk in
you're like honest.
So the Polynesian Resort, asyou can imagine, polynesian
Village Resort Is that right.
As you can imagine, it's basedon, like Polynesian culture, so
it's a very Hawaiian typetropical.
Yeah, and so there's Tiki'severywhere and there's like a
lot of really cool ornatewoodwork and water fountains and

(14:04):
Different statues and thingslike that all around Yep, which
are just so cool.

Speaker 2 (14:09):
You feel like you're on an island, like a tropical
island.

Speaker 1 (14:12):
It's extremely, it's extremely immersive.

Speaker 2 (14:14):
The food is great.
We love Kona cafe.
Kona cafe is amazing.
Oh, Hanna is there.

Speaker 1 (14:20):
Everybody loves Ohana .
That's kind of that kind ofseems to be like a Disney fan
Go-to.
Yeah that's like the one of theultimate places that you want
to go and eat.

Speaker 2 (14:30):
Yeah which is so good and then you can also get
Dolwips at the Polynesian Resort.

Speaker 1 (14:33):
I forgot about the Dolwips yeah.

Speaker 2 (14:35):
Maybe I'm not correct in this, but I think there are
some flavors that you can onlyget there.

Speaker 1 (14:40):
I think you're right like we.

Speaker 2 (14:41):
They had a lime one one time.
That was so good a lime.
Dolwip.
Yes, it was legit.
So you get.
You can go to the Polynesianand hang out and you can get
your Dolwip.
And then they have this reallyawesome beach Down by Bay Lake
that you can go and just hangout on the beach.

Speaker 1 (14:58):
But not only can you just hang out, it is a killer
spot to watch the fireworks.
It's a very cool spot to watchfireworks amazing spot to watch
fireworks at for like the 4th ofJuly or any night at Walt
Disney World.

Speaker 2 (15:10):
So we were there with your whole family, where there
was like 20 of us.

Speaker 1 (15:13):
Yeah, we posted up for 4th of.

Speaker 2 (15:14):
July posted up for 4th of July.
We had all planned out y'all.
We were so excited and we hadeverybody there and we're
hanging on the beach, we'retaking pictures and then all of
a sudden, as Florida does thisGigantic dark clouds starts to
form and roll over and we justgot like Drenched and got run

(15:35):
out of there and didn't get tosee the fireworks.
Yep.

Speaker 1 (15:37):
All right, let me tell you a wish I would have
known.
This is something you wish thatI wish I would have known.
Okay, um the Polynesian resort,if you park in the main parking
lot of Magic Kingdom on theheroes side.

Speaker 2 (15:50):
Mm-hmm.

Speaker 1 (15:51):
It's within walking distance of the Polynesian.
You literally there's a littleentrance over there.
You walk straight into the polyand a lot of times what we
would do is if we parked on thehero side of the Magic Kingdom
Parking lot.
We would just walk through thepoly and then hop on the monitor
monorail to Polynesian insteadof going to the ticket
transportation center yeah, theother way.
So that's kind of a cool littlenote.
It's a really beautiful walk atnight.

Speaker 2 (16:13):
It is so so often like torches everywhere.

Speaker 1 (16:16):
So we would.
We would take there there.
So we talked about this before,I believe.
But there's the, there's themonorail.
You can go to Magic Kingdom andthen there's also the ferry
boat.
Then to the differentIndividual resorts that are on
that monorail line, you can takea boat, a smaller boat,
directly to those docks.
Yep, so at the end of a longMagic Kingdom night, when

(16:37):
there's a million people waitingfor the monorail, if we parked
in the heroes lot, we would takethe small boat Directly to the
Polynesian and hop off there andthen walk to the parking lot
from there.

Speaker 2 (16:47):
Yeah, I think people are maybe a secret intimidated
to do that because I think whyI'm not staying at the resort?
I can't take the resort itdoesn't very.
It's like a peaceful littleride it's a really unique
experience.

Speaker 1 (17:03):
Yeah, it probably one of the cooler ones out there on
Bay Lake to be able to come, asmaller boat and like.
It's a very cool vibe.

Speaker 2 (17:11):
It's a good vibe, so that's a good one.

Speaker 1 (17:13):
Okay, let's go.
Let's go around Towards MagicKingdom.
Okay, you want to hit the grandFloridian, the?
Grand Floridian and boy, is itgrand it is great.

Speaker 2 (17:22):
The lobby is beautiful.
Usually there's somebody inthere playing a grand piano.

Speaker 1 (17:27):
They used to have a ragtime band.

Speaker 2 (17:29):
Yeah, they played in there.

Speaker 1 (17:30):
That was made up pre COVID yes, pre-covid, they had a
ragtime band that was made upof, like, old men that had
retired, that just wanted toplay like Ragtime music was
fantastic.

Speaker 2 (17:40):
I hope they bring that back.

Speaker 1 (17:41):
It was amazing.

Speaker 2 (17:43):
We used to Park there because you would order like
Cookie on the app.

Speaker 1 (17:50):
Okay, so a little little backstory.
The, the resorts, are closer toMagic Kingdom than the actual
parking lot of Magic Kingdom.
They're much closer, yeah, andso why would you not park there?
Well, you can't park therebecause you're not staying there
, right?
I found a loophole when I'mlike I ordered.

Speaker 2 (18:10):
I know you all listening this like anybody.

Speaker 1 (18:13):
Then, yeah, clint found a loophole.
What, how could he do such athing?
So, anyway, I found a loopholewhere they're like if you order
food at the grand, at the GrandFlurry, and they have to let you
order a mobile order a cookieand Then I'll show.
I'm a like hey, I ordered food,and they're like okay, great,
you can park right over here.
And then I would park overthere and we would rock paper

(18:34):
scissors which one of us had togo get the cookie, because you
had to walk a little bit fartherthan everybody else.
Yeah so somebody, usually Owen, would run, pick up the cookie,
eat the cookie on the way to hopon the monorail.
We hop on the monorail, we'rein Magic Kingdom in like three
minutes, yeah, and it's wayfaster.
It was way faster.

Speaker 2 (18:50):
I don't think they let you do that anymore, so they
shouldn't have let me do thatto begin with.

Speaker 1 (18:55):
There's no reason why they should ever let me do that
.
It's a it's a Disney loophole.
There are several of these thatthat I've discovered over the
years.
That one I'm pretty proud ofthat your role following wife.

Speaker 2 (19:07):
Just oh, oh she's so uncomfortable.
I'm so uncomfortable.

Speaker 1 (19:11):
She gets so uncomfortable cannot handle it,
cannot handle the cookie to buyto get a parking spot.

Speaker 2 (19:20):
Anyway, um, you can't .
Yes, so then you can hop on themonorail from the Grand
Floridian there's shops andstuff in there to wander around
into, but then you can take itover to Magic Kingdom.
Or they just recently, likewithin last year, made a pathway
that goes all the way From theGrand Floridian to Magic Kingdom
.

Speaker 1 (19:37):
Can I, can I tell you Disney lovers, disney
vacationers, this is somethingthat you must do at some point
in your life.
You need to take an a lateevening stroll Between the Grand
Floridian and Magic Kingdom.
It's this beautifully litSidewalk with all these old

(19:58):
lanterns along the way.

Speaker 2 (19:59):
You're walking along Bayleigh.

Speaker 1 (20:01):
It's amazing.
If you do it at the right time, you may be able to see the
water parade that they do everynight.
They do that like kind of likethe electrical water parade.
It's just such a coolexperience and and so chill, and
I have a lot of great, greatmemories of like aimer Not going
, and like having awesomeconversations and taking long
walks around Bay Lake together.

(20:22):
Super, super thankful for that.
All right, so let's, let'scontinue around.
We're gonna.
We're gonna pass right pastMagic Kingdom.
Okay, ignore that, it's on yourleft, you're gonna wave at it.
There it goes, there it goes, and we're gonna keep going to
the contemporary resort thecontemporary resort is the one
that the monorail actually goesthrough.
Guys, it goes through it.

Speaker 2 (20:44):
Our kids always thought that was the neatest
thing.
The monorail was through abuilding through a building,
you're inside the hotel.

Speaker 1 (20:52):
It's so cool.

Speaker 2 (20:52):
I've always known we've never stayed there.
I've always wondered whatthat's like to stay in the hotel
.
Do you hear the monorail goingin and out?

Speaker 1 (20:59):
Well, I, mean it's a pretty silent monorail, it's not
like this.

Speaker 2 (21:03):
No, don't they have no no, I mean you hear, like the
announcement as the doors areopening and closing Please don't
clear the doors, yeah.

Speaker 1 (21:11):
Yeah, the kids have that memorized in both English
and Spanish.
They do and have t-shirts tothat effect as well.
Also we can.
Can we just okay side, okay, before we talk about Give, give
our listeners a ballpark, aballpark of how many Disney
themed t-shirts or clothing, apparel items that that we have

(21:35):
or have had while we live there.

Speaker 2 (21:38):
Gosh, that's really hard to say between all of us.
We have at least a hundredt-shirts have to which, now that
I'm thinking about it, I shouldhave those turned into like a
blanket or something you can do.
You know how you can do thatwith t-shirts.

Speaker 1 (21:50):
Now there's companies that take like are you going
crafty mom on us over here?

Speaker 2 (21:53):
No, I'm not doing it oh okay.
You look really weird.
There are Companies that youcan send, like your kids sports
jerseys and over the years andstuff like that, and they'll
turn it into like a Throwblanket.

Speaker 1 (22:10):
So you want to throw a blanket of formerly sweaty
t-shirts.
You're not selling this to me.
Yeah, let's get the pit stainones, okay.
Anyway, I think over under weprobably got about a hundred.
We have a lot of like, andthey're, they're usually.
We really love A obscure Disneythemed things.

(22:30):
Yeah so um, I like one that hasEdna mode on it, but it says
but it looks like a Gucci shirt.

Speaker 2 (22:38):
Or anything from Goofy Movie, or anything from
Emperors New Groove Emperors New.

Speaker 1 (22:42):
Groove?
Yeah, totally so anythingthat's kind of off the beaten
path.
We're not talking about Mickeyand Minnie like holding hands.

Speaker 2 (22:48):
Which is so funny, right, when you're at Disney
World, you're wearing all theDisney things.
Right, you're buying the Disneysweatshirts and the T-shirts,
and the hats and the you'rebuying a Pluto hat with the ears
you know this platform.

Speaker 1 (23:00):
I wanna use this platform right now to stop the
shaming of people wearing thesame shirt.
The Jensen family reunion withthe Mickey Mouse Like who shames
that?
Everybody does.
They shame them on, like socialmedia and the stuff like oh,
I'm not wearing I'm not becauseremember, there's actually

(23:21):
shirts that say I'm not wearingthe stupid matching shirts.

Speaker 2 (23:24):
Oh yeah, like guys, have fun, just wear the matching
shirts.
Have fun, wear the matchingshirts, just wear them.
I did it.
Yep, we did it.

Speaker 1 (23:29):
I'm a non-conformist.
For your mom's retirement, Isure did, we did it and it was
super fun.
It was really fun.

Speaker 2 (23:36):
We got the picture and everything it was great, all
right okay so I don't know thatit's cool to wear Disney.
Is it cool to wear Disneythings outside of Disney World,
though?

Speaker 1 (23:44):
See, I'm struggling.

Speaker 2 (23:45):
That's why I'm saying we own all of these Disney
shirts.

Speaker 1 (23:47):
But they're all in like storage yeah.
Because we don't wear themanymore and now you're trying to
make blankets out of it.
So clearly you just answeredyour question.
Do you rather it be a sweatyformer sweatshirt saying blanket
than actually wear it in yourlike normal life?

Speaker 2 (24:02):
I just mean that it would get some use, or like we
could have it around the houseand like Just rags.

Speaker 1 (24:08):
They're just like random, like rags to clean up
things around the house.
Now I'm not wearing thatanymore.
I'm not gonna wear Disney.
No, it's a nice one.
Anyway, hey, if any of you guyswant some free Disney merch
apparently it's either theoptions are rags, blanket, or we
could just send it to you.
We got lots of Disney shirts sowe could send you away.
Okay, beep, beep.

(24:28):
I just heard the monorail haunt.
We're back into thecontemporary resort.
Here we are.
I lost her mojo over here.
I'm just picturing this blanket.
Stop, stop with the blanket,sorry.

Speaker 2 (24:51):
She's okay, okay, all right, contemporary.
There's places to eat, there'sgood food, you know, I mean it's
Disney food.
They have Mickey's Cafe, right?
Is it a character breakfast?

Speaker 1 (25:03):
And they call Mickey's Cafe or something like
that.
There's a character breakfastwhere you can actually have Chef
Mickey.

Speaker 2 (25:08):
That's it, Chef Mickey.
Yeah, you can have breakfastwith the characters.
That's fun.

Speaker 1 (25:12):
There's a couple of really cool like kind of hidden
secrets.
I will say this For oneanniversary Amber and I it was
our 15th 15th anniversary.
We ate dinner at the CaliforniaGrill.
Is that what it's called At thetop?

Speaker 2 (25:24):
of the contemporary, so you get this amazing view of
Bay Lake and Magic KingdomIncredible.

Speaker 1 (25:30):
We ate our sunset and then there's a deck where you
can go out and watch thefireworks at night.
And like it was magical, it wasawesome.

Speaker 2 (25:39):
It really was.
You had a $100 steak.

Speaker 1 (25:41):
I had a $100 steak and you had a pork chop.
That was better than a $100steak.
That's what I remember, happy15th, happy 15th.

Speaker 2 (25:48):
Yeah, $100 steak.
Oh, and I also saw Peter Pan inthe lobby, do?
You remember that I saw PeterPan.

Speaker 1 (25:55):
Wait, like it was really here In the hotel.

Speaker 2 (25:57):
Yes, I have a picture of it.
We were on an escalator with it.

Speaker 1 (26:00):
Oh wait, I remember it Because you were like Peter
Pan.

Speaker 2 (26:04):
Well, it was like seeing your teacher outside of
school Sign my t-shirt blanket.
Oh I, we could do that, Peter.

Speaker 1 (26:11):
You think?

Speaker 2 (26:11):
you can get it signed .

Speaker 1 (26:12):
Yes.

Speaker 2 (26:13):
No, but like it's just like seeing somebody out of
context, right Like you seePeter Pan in the park.
That makes sense, but he wasjust like in the hotel lobby.

Speaker 1 (26:21):
Was he staying there?

Speaker 2 (26:22):
I have no idea.
It was just Peter Pan.
Wow, that's pretty cool.

Speaker 1 (26:26):
Okay, so that's the.
That's the monorail resorts.

Speaker 2 (26:29):
Those are the monorail resorts.

Speaker 1 (26:31):
Okay, we're gonna hop on to a little boat.
We're gonna make our way overIs there a boat specifically for
Wilderness Lodge?
Yes, there's a boatspecifically for Wilderness
Lodge.
We're gonna make our way overto Wilderness Lodge.
Okay now, I said earlier thatPolynesian's my favorite resort.
I think, pound for pound, polynesian's my favorite.
I love Wilderness Lodge.

Speaker 2 (26:49):
It is awesome.

Speaker 1 (26:51):
It's amazing.
It's very rustic, it's verymountains and the scale of it to
me is what gets me?

Speaker 2 (26:58):
You walk in that lobby and I don't know how many
stories.
It is 10 stories.

Speaker 1 (27:02):
I don't well, that's we used to do, okay.
So again, resorts are great togo and just hang out like for
the day.
So our kids would just go intothe Wilderness Lodge and just go
run all the stairs Just likeyep it's raining outside because
it's Florida.
We're going to Wilderness Lodge.
Go run the stairs.

Speaker 2 (27:20):
Run children.

Speaker 1 (27:21):
They would zigzag the way all the way up to the very
top and then wave at us whileAmar and I were down at the
bottom and, like that was a funday.
There's also, you know, I don'tknow if you recall this, but
there was you can go up to thelobby.
In the lobby, you can go up tothe desk and you can ask for a

(27:43):
chart of hidden Mickey's thatare hidden around the resort,
and you can do this at a coupledifferent stores.

Speaker 2 (27:47):
It's like a scavenger hunt.

Speaker 1 (27:48):
It's a scavenger hunt for hidden Mickey's and it
gives you clues.
We did that one time and hadthe most fun.

Speaker 2 (27:53):
Yeah, it's so much fun because it takes you all
around the resort looking forthem, it gives you clues and,
yes, we had a blast.
I don't know if they still dothat, but if they don't, you go
there and demand that they startit again.

Speaker 1 (28:03):
Yeah, it's really fun to go all the way up to the top
.

Speaker 2 (28:05):
Tell them which I would have known sent you.

Speaker 1 (28:07):
Yes, yes, tell them that.
Okay, speaking of which I wouldhave known.
Let's tell our people about thetime that you went to
Wilderness Lodge, and with asquirrel in your purse.
Let's do that.
Let's do that.
What a weird story.
Yep, okay.
So here's a story you've neverheard before.

Speaker 2 (28:21):
Okay.
So we're living in Florida andI had these guys come out and
work on our pool and they knockon my front door and I open the
door and the guy is holding ababy squirrel and I'm like hi,
and he's like this, I found thisin your yard.
It fell out of the tree, it'smom's nowhere around here and

(28:41):
just hands me the baby squirreland I'm like I don't know what
to do with this.
He's like oh, I've raised thembefore you.
Just you know you take care ofit and like walks away.
So I call you and I'm like wenow own a baby squirrel.
You're like the heck we do.

Speaker 1 (28:54):
It sounds about like what I would say I don't know
what to do with this.

Speaker 2 (28:57):
So I Google and apparently you can like, you
know, you can raise them and youcan have his pets, which we was
not our intention.
So the kids get all attached tothis little tiny baby squirrel
because it's cute.
What do they name it?
Squirrely, squirrely.

Speaker 1 (29:10):
We have very creative kids.

Speaker 2 (29:11):
Right, so they're attached to the squirrel.
We kind of take care of it andtry to feed it for a couple days
, but it gets to the point where, like the thing is like pooping
on you when you're holding itand it just feels chaotic.

Speaker 1 (29:24):
It's not cute anymore .

Speaker 2 (29:26):
No, once something starts defecating.

Speaker 1 (29:30):
Yes, pretty much Okay .
So here's the conundrum that weare faced with.
We could just put it backoutside.
Yeah, like that could be easy.

Speaker 2 (29:38):
Good luck to you, baby squirrel.

Speaker 1 (29:39):
Okay, but it may survive.
It may be fine, but I'll tellyou this every time somebody
runs over a squirrel in ourneighborhood, our kids would
assume that it was theirsquirrel.
Yes and so we didn't want themto have the trauma of every dead
squirrel that they see in ourneighborhood, for forever was
their squirrel.
So instead I come up with abright idea let's take him to

(30:04):
Wilderness Lodge.

Speaker 2 (30:06):
What a great place for a squirrel to grow up.

Speaker 1 (30:08):
We're better for a squirrel to enjoy his formative
years than Wilderness Lodge.
But then we're faced with theconundrum of how do we get him
from the parking lot ofWilderness Lodge into, like, the
actual like other side of theresort where all the cabins and
whatnot are.

Speaker 2 (30:27):
Out back.
There's beautiful grounds,there's trails, there's woods.
It's a really neat place.
It's a great place for a babysquirrel.

Speaker 1 (30:34):
Yes, a perfect place for a baby squirrel that you
don't want.

Speaker 2 (30:37):
Inter squirrel in my purse.

Speaker 1 (30:39):
Inter squirrel in my purse, s-i-n-p.
Squirrel in my purse.
Alright, so you like that.
So Amber has to put thesquirrel in her purse and take
it through the lobby ofWilderness Lodge.

Speaker 2 (30:55):
So we just gonna picture, if you will roll,
following self me, yeah, walkingthrough a lobby of a hotel with
a squirrel in my purse.
So we get out back.
We find a good spot.

Speaker 1 (31:08):
We set the squirrel free, set him free to live a
life that I am sure he, to thisday, is still very much enjoying
.

Speaker 2 (31:18):
So there's a Hudson's Do Disney video of this, but in
the video we picture it like wejust happened to see a baby.

Speaker 1 (31:24):
Yeah, we didn't really want to be like we took
the squirrel from our house andwe're dropping it off at Disney,
so we don't even know if that's.

Speaker 2 (31:33):
Is that a thing like?
Is that, are we gonna get introuble?

Speaker 1 (31:36):
I think I'm not.
Please don't tell anybody.

Speaker 2 (31:38):
Yeah, if you're listening to this.
Just don't tell anybody.

Speaker 1 (31:40):
Bob Iger is listening to this.
They're like black, blacklisted.
We've been black listed, whycan't your?
Didn't your parents love goingto Disney?
Well yeah, they got caught fortaking a squirrel to Wilderness
Lodge one time and my mom'spurse and talked about on the
podcast.
Now they can't go back.

Speaker 2 (31:56):
Weird story.

Speaker 1 (31:57):
It's a weird story.
It's a very weird story, but Ido love Wilderness Lodge.

Speaker 2 (32:00):
It's beautiful.

Speaker 1 (32:01):
It's a beautiful place and just the boat ride
over to Magic Kingdom is reallyspecial.
It's great.

Speaker 2 (32:05):
Yep.

Speaker 1 (32:05):
Man, we got some random stories about some of
these resorts and whatnot.
That's some that's.

Speaker 2 (32:12):
That's some interesting stuff mostly circled
around shenanigans, I thinkshenanigans.

Speaker 1 (32:16):
I agree, look, one of the reasons why we want to
start this podcast and beginwith is because we want to share
, like, some things that we wishwe would have known, and also
just be able to share somestories with our friends.
Like we have some really crazystories, like how many of your
friends have ever stuffed asquirrel in their purse and
walked it through the lobby?

Speaker 2 (32:31):
of a Disney Resort.
I'm gonna start using that forlike get to know you games like
what's the oddest thing aboutyou?
Like I smuggled a squirrel inmy purse.

Speaker 1 (32:39):
Unfortunately, that's not the oddest thing about you.
I wouldn't.
I don't know what it is.
It might be in your top five.

Speaker 2 (32:47):
Really.
Yeah, there's something odderthan that.

Speaker 1 (32:50):
Odder, odder.

Speaker 2 (32:52):
Odder.
Odder Is it more odd Odder.

Speaker 1 (32:58):
It was a squirrel, not an odder.

Speaker 2 (32:59):
Oh my gosh dad.

Speaker 1 (33:02):
Oh, dad joke, got him .
Guys, thanks for listening tothe pod.
Listen, we, we're a year in tothis.

Speaker 2 (33:08):
I cannot believe that .

Speaker 1 (33:09):
This is episode 30.
I think this episode 30.
We set out to have anopportunity to be able to
connect with more people than wecould ever have over at our
house to have dinner.

Speaker 2 (33:22):
Yeah.
That's the whole purpose forthis, although if you're
listening to this and you reallywant to come over for dinner,
just come over, you can ask.

Speaker 1 (33:29):
You can ask it's fine , don't?
I mean just don't, just don'tinvite, maybe just ask us to
come over to your house fordinner.

Speaker 2 (33:34):
No, you can come to our house.

Speaker 1 (33:36):
That's fine, bring your own squirrel.
B-y-o-s.
B-y-o-s.

Speaker 2 (33:42):
No, do not bring any squirrels to my house.

Speaker 1 (33:46):
I'm here for the t-shirt blanket.
I have brought you a gift of asquirrel.
May I please have dinner?
The whole reason we do this pod, though, is we want to share
with you guys some things thatwe wish would have known, some
lessons we've learned along theway, but also, like this is just
fun for us to be able to tellstories.
Amar and I really love eachother, and we love laughing at
each other, and, like she waslaughing so hard a minute ago,

(34:07):
it's hilarious.

Speaker 2 (34:08):
I'm crying.

Speaker 1 (34:09):
I know that makes me laugh.
Disney World, okay, one of ourfavorite places in the world.
Yep, we, we have spent a lot oftime there.
I did say in a lot of timethere.
We moved our family across thecountry to live there for a
while.
It will always have a specialplace in our hearts, a special
place in our family.
Yeah, I'm excited for the daywhen I get to go as a

(34:29):
grandparent.

Speaker 2 (34:29):
That's gonna be fun.

Speaker 1 (34:35):
Peep-A-Pan.

Speaker 2 (34:36):
Peep-a-pan another t-shirt.
To give me the t-shirt, put iton the put it on the blanket.

Speaker 1 (34:41):
Hope it, hope it makes the blanket that's like
the centerpiece of the littlet-shirt blanket that you've made
, so Peep-A-Pan.
But we're really grateful thatwe get to share some of these
stories and we're so gratefulthat we had the special years
there that we had for sure, ourkid family time our kids are at
a point now we're they're alittle bit older and they're
gonna start having their ownfamilies and doing their own
thing, and so the fact that wegot to live there and do that

(35:04):
For the time that we did isreally special to us.

Speaker 2 (35:06):
So if you yourself are planning a trip with your
family, please reach out.
We you're never bothering usasking us questions about Disney
, or where should we go, whereshould we eat or what should we
do.

Speaker 1 (35:16):
We love that it's really fun because we don't get
to go anymore as much and so weget to live vicariously through
you and your vacation, and so,like, the best thing in the
world is when somebody will textme, be like, hey, I'm at
blankity blank and I want togive dinner reservation.
What's the easiest way for meto get from blank to blank?
I'm like, oh, just take theskyliner, do this, do this.
That's that kind of stuff's funfor us.

Speaker 2 (35:34):
Reach out to us at wishpodcast and there's some
messages.
If you have any friends orfamily that are going to Disney
soon, shoot them this podcast, let them know.
Hopefully this will help withsome, you know, wondering what
to do or what there is to do.

Speaker 1 (35:46):
Yeah, so that's time I that's tying a bow, little
magical bow, on our Disneyseries.
So share with your friends ifthey're gonna go to Disney or if
they just want to be able tolaugh at a bird trying to think
it's a good idea to make ourt-shirts into a Sweaty blanket.
And nobody wants to lay underanyway.
Season three check it out.

(36:07):
Season three is on deck.
So this coming up, this comingfall, at the end of summer,
that's when fall comes.
I Don't know why I needed todesignate that not the fall that
.
Yeah, not no.
So it's not the fall that comesafter spring, not that one.
Anyway, into this summer, a,we're not gonna start rocking

(36:28):
some episodes for season three, but yeah, so be able to look out
for that this fall.
We're excited to be able tocontinue to do this and thanks
for giving us time on yourcommute.
We hope this is beneficial toyou.
Yeah, and it's something thatmakes you laugh and helps you
get to know us a little bit more.
Maybe you learn some thingsthat you wish you would have
known.

Speaker 2 (36:46):
Yeah, like how to make blankets out of t-shirts.

Speaker 1 (36:49):
You nobody's learned that.
Nobody wanted to know it.
Nobody wanted to know it.

Speaker 2 (36:54):
Like oh, you can do that.

Speaker 1 (36:56):
Yeah, somebody just learned that today today, yeah,
and that's enhanced their life, wow, all right.
Well, all of you guys out there, enjoy your sweaty blankets and
we will see you next time.
Wish I would have known isrecorded in the beautiful hill
country of Austin, texas, thelive music capital of the world.
