(00:00):
This historical Fresno theatre isn't just known for its
architecture, it's also known for its ghost.
In this terrifying episode of Where Chuck Tells Podcast, we
explored the haunted halls of Warner's Theatre, a 1928
landmark where visitors and workers have reported shadow
figures, ghostly piano music, coat spots, and the spirit of a
(00:25):
protectionist who never left. That's right, my witch is the
norm. On this We Star Toast podcast,
we are going to be talking aboutthe Warner's Theater located in
Fresno, CA, a known haunted place.
It was even mentioned in the Fresno Bee article.
Let's get straight into it. Hi, I'm over this enormous
(00:54):
welcome to always Talk to Us podcast.
I'm your husband, Rich, and today we're going to be talking
about a haunted place in Fresno that I just found out known as
the Warner's Theater, not with an E with an O Warner's.
So before I get into the podcast, this discussion is
advised. Everything I talk about is just
pure speculation to the best of our knowledge, and this is just
(01:15):
from the research that I've done.
Did you guys say that all of a sudden there's firecrackers?
It's people doing fireworks. I don't understand why.
And also, it's so hot that I have the AC running in the back.
But let's get straight into the podcast.
Before we get into the home depart, let's talk about a
(01:36):
little history of the Warner's theater.
It was built in 1928 by an architect named Benjamin Marcus
Retica, and then the original owner name was Alexander
Pathogis. Well, a little side note.
Within the month of October in the year 1929, Alexander
Pathogis was arrested because hewas accused of raping a girl
(01:59):
named Eunice Pringles who was 17years old.
And then come to find out it wasacquitted because allegedly she
was being paid by the RKO, whichwas a film production.
And so they dismissed the case. Now here's the theme though, it
was said that Eunice Pringle went to go see Alexander with an
empty chamber, which is a littleroom before hits the lobby.
(02:22):
One story was he was saying, oh,I want to be with you.
And she was like, uh, uh, and sohe started ripping off her
clothes and biting her and giving her bruises right from
his side of story or Eunice Pringle went to go see him and
fetch him a skit, meaning she was, you know, pitching him this
idea or whatever. And he was like, uh, he wasn't
into her proposal. And so she attacked him.
(02:44):
Then people in the place claimedthat they saw him grabbing by
one of her leg as she was walking out, begging her.
So we, we don't know if it's true.
I'm just, you know, I just thought I put the history out
there. But again allegedly go back to
the topic, the original name of the theater was named after
Alexander Pathogis in the year 1928.
(03:05):
But there in the year 1929, the Warners bought the theater and
they named it Warners with an E But then in 1960 or 1950, 1960,
I'm going to emphasize the O, but it was named Warner's
Theater. It's still pronounced Warner's.
But you know, I just want to emphasize the O.
They changed the name from Warner's to Warner's because
(03:28):
they didn't want to have trademark, you know, problems.
And so they decided to change the name after that.
And then in the year 2023, they named the theater Warner's
Center for Performing Arts. And now that we got the Warner's
theater history out of the way, let's talk about the haunted
part. There's a group from Porterville
known as the Paranormal MovementInvestigators, which their
(03:50):
acronyms or what this sounds foris or the shortest PMI.
They're known to be like ghost hunting investigators.
They basically go to the Warner's theater and do ghost
hunting towards there. Right?
Now I did write notes here because it's a long list but
bear with me. Reported paranormal activity one
the ghost of a man in the balcony.
(04:12):
Many visitors and workers have reported seeing a shadowy figure
watching from the balcony, believed to be a former
projectionist or actor who had died there #2 unexplained music
and voices. People claim to hear piano music
playing when no one is there. Some also reported hearing
whispers or even laughter, especially late at night #3 cold
(04:35):
spots and moving shadows, sun chills in specific area like the
stage wings or backstage halls. Dark shapes are even seen moving
without any explanation #4 the organ plays itself.
The massive Warlitzer. How do you pronounce that
warlitzer? What's the Lord, what's his old?
(04:57):
I'm going to do my best. The massive Warlitzer type organ
is centerpiece of the theater had allegedly play on its own
even when unplugged #5 haunted basement staff refused to go
alone in the basement, said to be the creepiest part of the
building where old costumes and props are stored.
Since that was the paranormal activity, Let's talk about some
(05:20):
theories of the Warner's theater.
It is said that some believe thespirits of vaudeville performers
never left. So I was looking to see what
that meant and basically is a genre for like actors and
comedians and, you know, folk music and singers.
Another theory says a tragic death may have occurred on the
site, but no official records were confirmed.
(05:42):
A little side note, I also wrotethis down.
Paranormal investigators and ghost hunters have visited and
captured strange Evps, electronic voices phenomena and
unexplained EMF readings. Local ghost tours often include
the Warner's Theatre as they stop, right?
And then I posted the video on Instagram, Facebook and TikTok
(06:04):
and this was the comment that was written, so I'm going to
read it to you guys now. One of the users said definitely
haunted. I saw a man with a tuxedo top
hat sitting in the upper privatebox located in the stage right
from Instagram said I have done one of these ghost hunting tours
there even though I personally didn't notice anything.
(06:24):
Lots of other people in our group did.
And then from Facebook. The balcony is definitely
haunted. I work security there for some
events. Oh hell no Oh hell no.
The fact that it's haunted, I'm good.
I was doing research for the podcast and as I typed it in,
they just recently had a ghost tour in May, so we missed it.
(06:48):
I wanted to find out another one, but it won't happen until
next year unless we start a petition.
Maybe all of us can like go. I wouldn't mind going if you
guys were going to go. I will leave everything.
LinkedIn the description box below.
I was doing research for this haunted place in Fresno and then
this came up and I was like, dude, we've talked about Cardi
Mansion. We talked about the UMC
(07:08):
hospital. We talked about to high school.
How come I never knew that the Warner's Theater located
downtown in Fresno on Tuolumne was haunted allegedly?
If you guys ever been there, drop down a comment, let me know
and I hope you guys enjoyed thispodcast.
Now next week, I do have to mention we're going to be
(07:30):
talking about Janitor's Scary Story.
There's a gentleman named Tommy. He's going to be a guest on our
podcast next week where we're actually going to go to his
house and hear his ghost experience.
One of them that he mentioned was at a juvenile hall that he
said it's so scary and evil thatit's not a spirit, it's a
demonic entity. I've worked at the juvenile hall
(07:52):
and that place I could tell you the difference between ghost and
demonic stuff. That place I experienced very
demonic. Is this the one on Kings Canyon?
The one that they turn into a school.
It's the one on the 99, the newer one they built.
It's off 99 in Central. Yeah, it's the newer one.
(08:13):
Yeah. I experienced something there
that I'd rather tell you a person because it's something
very, very scary and I don't talk about too much.
But yeah, that was that. That was so I could tell you
this. It was such a scary experience
that I walked on vacation and called the contractor, that I
had a contract in the janitorialfor the Infirmary area of the
(08:35):
juvenile. I turned I turned down $4000 a
month because I didn't want to clean that place.
Right. I turned it down because I knew
it was demonic and that at that moment I knew that there was
ghost. I'm like, no, unless somebody's
in here actually touching with me, there's there's no way, no
(08:55):
possibly this could happen. And that opened up my mind and
unfortunately just so many things happened in that place.
Peculiar. So stay tuned for next week.
I'm so excited. I can't wait to hear it.
But with that being said, don't forget to like and subscribe and
I'll see you guys next week on the West Star tells podcast.
Best to be everyone. Bye.
