In this deeply personal conversation, Desmond Elliot, actor and politician, sets the record straight, and it’s not what you expect.
He opens up about how finding work back then was an extreme sport. “I did a lot of ‘waka pass’ roles,” he says, laughing. But the grind was real and the rejection was even more real.
Desmond also shares how a chance introduction to Asiwaju by Adams Oshiomhole completely changed the course of his life. “For some reason, Asiwaju just liked me,” he says, still surprised.
He speaks with clarity about being contested against by Olumide Oworu during the 2023 elections. “I wasn’t angry with him,” he says. “I was hurt by the veterans who endorsed him.”
From the screen to the streets, from heartbreak to hope, this is Desmond Elliot that you will fall in love with again.
