SPEAKER_00 (00:00):
Hey, I've got
another quick bonus episode for
you today about metabolism.
Most people are blaming theirmetabolism for lots of things.
I talk about metabolism beingthe source of much strife when
it comes to fat loss andbuilding muscle.
But to be honest, metabolism isnot really the issue most of the
time.
What you're actually dealingwith is one of a few common
(00:21):
scenarios.
Maybe you've been under eatingfor so long that your body has
adapted and your maintenancecalories have dropped.
That is just a temporary changein your metabolism, but it's not
the root cause.
The root cause is theunder-ating.
Maybe your insulin sensitivityis lower than average and you
would do better with moremovement, different training,
better carb, more carbs, andbetter carb timing.
Maybe you're just not matchingyour approach, your current
(00:42):
lifestyle and recovery capacityright now.
The problem is often that youdon't know where you are in that
journey, right?
You're following a plan designedeither for someone else's
situation or maybe even for yousix months ago or a year ago.
And your friend who doesintermittent fasting or keto and
says, oh, this is great, or doescarnivore or trains in a
(01:03):
different way, and then they getresults, you look at them and
you're like, oh, I should trythat.
They might have different workschedules, stress level,
training demand.
They're probably not doingsomething sustainable anyway.
You can't really peer behindthat curtain.
And so you really have to findout what works for your
performance goals.
And I say performance as acatch-all for feeling good,
looking looking good, betterhealth, better longevity.
(01:24):
So I put together a short quiz.
I wanted to share that with you.
It's free.
It helps you identify which ofthese scenarios you're actually
in right now.
It asks you about specificthings right now, like your
energy patterns, how you respondto different foods, your
training recovery, sleepquality, dieting history.
It's very short.
It's not like a big, you know, coaching intake or anything like
that.
And then based on your answers, you get a sense of whether
(01:45):
you're dealing with metabolicadaptation or insulin
resistance, suboptimal recovery,or maybe things are actually
functioning well.
And it tells you that, itvalidates that and says, you
know, maybe you just want somebetter structure and we're going
to give you some ideas on that.
And then after you take thequiz, you can go one level
deeper if you want, request amore detailed, personalized
report, provide a little bitmore information so it knows how
to do that.
(02:05):
And by it, I mean the softwarethat I've written that will send
you the report because you getit instantly.
And then you get macro rangesbased on the evidence, training
recommendations that match yourrecovery, practical tips, even
some recipes.
And I want to be clear aboutsomething.
This isn't gonna tell you thatyou have some special metabolism
that's unique and requires adifferent approach you've never
heard of before, some you know, secret to unlocking your
(02:28):
metabolism.
The fundamentals are still gonnawork for everyone.
What it does do is help youfigure out where to start with
those fundamentals based on yoursituation right now.
So it just helps you target itin, like a decision tree.
It's that you know, if you'vebeen chronically under-eating,
you might have to focus onrecovery in your diet before you
push for fast fat loss.
If your insulin sensitivity islower, you might benefit from a
(02:48):
different approach to your carbsand timing.
And the report gives you ranges,it doesn't give you rigid or
restrictive prescriptions.
It suggests approaches, notrules.
It recommends how to track on adaily, weekly, monthly basis.
And a lot of people are justguessing at this stuff.
You know, random calculators andmacro splits online, random
programs.
(03:09):
They don't think about theirvolume or recovery, constantly
hopping around, constantlychanging, and never quite
knowing what's actually working.
Maybe you did something thatworks, but you don't know it
works, so then you move on tosomething else.
And this instead gives you asystematic starting point.
You know, you'll have data onwhere you likely are, you'll get
recommendations based on thatassessment, and then you'll have
a framework for some of thistracking to see whether what
(03:30):
you've been recommended isactually working.
So just go to witsandweights.comslash quiz, take the free quiz.
It's two minutes.
That's it.
You're gonna get resultsimmediately.
And then, as I mentioned, if youput in a little more information
to personalize it, you can get adetailed 15-page report, will be
sent by email.
So you can save it and keep itfor yourself, totally free with
the macros and the training andthe recipes and all that.
(03:53):
But even if you just want toknow where you stand in general,
the quiz results are gonna help.
So go to wits and weights.comslash quiz.
It takes two minutes, totallyfree.
Your metabolism is probably notthe root cause.
You probably just need a betterstarting point given where your
metabolism stands today.
Go find out where that is.
Witsandweights.com/slash quiz,and I'll see you tomorrow.
