We would have less people to connect with on the road if it
wasn't for you startings. And so now, like sometimes we'll
go somewhere and I'll be like, oh, we're meeting up like with
Ryan one time in Washington. It's like, Oh yeah, Ryan and
Drew, they're in Washington. Let's meet up with them.
They're they're RV people. Welcome back to the RV Queens
Podcast, where we're all about women making money on the road.
(00:21):
I'm your host, Kate White, and today's episode is something a
little different. There's no guest today.
Well, let me rephrase, I'm the guest today.
This episode is an informal recording of me and my husband
Drew, sitting outside at the picnic table with a glass of
wine celebrating 2 years since Istarted RV Queens.
(00:42):
What began as a creative outlet has become something I never
expected. A business, a thriving
community, and a beautiful way to connect with women who are
living boldly on the road. In this episode, we reflect on
how the RV Queens brand started, what it's taken to grow RV
Queens while keeping it light and aligned with our family
(01:02):
life, and the moments we're mostproud of along the way.
I don't want this episode to just be about me and the brand
I've built. I want it to be an invitation to
you. Use this conversation as a
chance to pause and reflect on your own journey.
What have you built, what stretched you within the past
couple years? And what are you proud of that
(01:24):
maybe you haven't said out loud yet?
And who can you share that with?Whether it's your partner, a
business best friend, or a fellow traveler, I want you to
use this episode as your permission slip to celebrate how
far you've come. Use the questions that Drew and
I asked each other as a startingpoint for your own reflection.
And if you're craving deeper connections with women who get.
(01:46):

favorite beverage and let's rollinto this sweet little sunset
conversation. This is Drew White with RV Kings
(02:27):
podcast. Shout out to my kings Kate.
Happy 2 year anniversary of RV Queens.
Thank you. What was the biggest challenge
of starting Ivy Queens? Probably overcoming my fear of
failure and really just staying light with the.
(02:50):
Concept. And what does that mean?
Like, well, at the very beginning I started it as a
hobby. You know, I did it for fun and
then within a few months, like Ialready had brands reach out,
like I monetized it and then I was like, Oh my God, this is a
business. So then the temptation was there
(03:11):
for me to make it heavy. That's what I mean about light.
Like keep it fun, like, you know, happy, positive and not
like business, business, business.
I think what you mean by heavy is, well, what actually, I'm not
(03:35):
going to ask Mike I. Just told you what I mean by
heavy well. Kind of.
Like you. Said what you mean by light is
that you didn't want to make. It heavy.
OK, OK. So so.
I didn't want to feel stressed out by it all the.
Time. We're having the conversation
now like you're talking. I don't want to feel stressed
out by it all the. Time like your other ventures.
Like my other business you didn't want.
(03:56):
To be all consuming, yes, that'swhat you need.
Yes, fair, yeah. What's been the funnest part?
Talking with the ladies every week, almost every week for like
the past two years. Got to get to know face to face
one-on-one. What are you most proud of?
I think it's whenever people tell me stories about because of
(04:18):
RV Queens, I've been able to blah blah blah.
Especially like the community members and RV queen circles,
like they make business connections that help one of
them like make some money or they were inspired by and
learned from another RV Queen that helped them grow their own
(04:38):
business or whatever. I love that.
I had another question but I lost it.
I heard the duck walking. We're disconnected by Alfie the
duck. This is our buddy right out.
But what I'm what I'm actually proud of and appreciate about it
is like this winter, we had connections with all these
(05:01):
families that we wouldn't have had, like the kids had all these
friends and couples came over for our campfires that were like
the reason most of them got invited is because you had a
connection with them from RV cruise.
And so like we would have a muchsmaller community, which is
fine. I mean, I like our community,
but like we would have less people to connect with on the
(05:22):
road if it wasn't for you startings.
And so now like sometimes we'll go somewhere and I'll be like,
oh, we're meeting up like with Ryan one time in Washington.
It's like, Oh yeah, Ryan and Drew, they're in Washington.
Let's meet up with them. They're they're RV people.
That's happened multiple times. And so if you didn't have that,
like we would have a lonelier Rd. experience.
(05:43):
And so, yeah, that's been awesome because you've you've
like I think I said to you afterwilling campfires, it's like
campfire and apples like all youin community that you've built.
Yeah, I just meet people. It's pickleball.
If you're anything like me and love soaking up that Midwest
lake life in the summer, I've got a spot you have to check
out. Coconut Cove RV Resort in Hazel
(06:05):
Green, WI is in our journey campground that's packed with
fun for the whole crew. They've got.

rentals and tons of family friendly activities.

cabin, this tropical themed resort has what you're looking
for. Click the link in the show notes
(06:25):
to book now and start your journey with our journey.
What's something people wouldn'tbe surprised to know about you
with running your business? That I spend maybe 5 hours a
week on this. 5 to 10 depending on the week, depending on what's
going on. Going to call BS off.
(06:45):
Here what? How much time do you think I
spent on this? Probably 10 to 50.
No, yeah, no, yeah, let's let's talk.
I'm talking about mental energy. No, I'm talking about actual
time. But also there's a.
I'm talking about actual sit down do the work time.
I think between podcast interviews and you have the
(07:07):
morning times out. Right, but but like half my
morning time is working out. But then there's always like
you're always listening to MarcoPolos and.
When you say always. I shouldn't say always.
You're listening to Marco Polos frequently and usually you've
(07:30):
got like, I need to get this newsletter out.
I mean, put this out and and you're kind of like fitting in
work in between everything that like, I don't think you track
all that. OK.
I would say the first year .5 I was doing all that, but now I
have help behind the scenes. So like my Sundays I don't do
(07:50):
any work on it because I have sweet Kim who's the community
manager, right And when I do Marco Polo's, honestly it's
Monday mornings and Thursday mornings on the road to work out
and on the road back. That's like my dedicated Marco
Polo time. I might spend a little bit every
I'm wrong with that but like. OK, OK, I'm on.
(08:15):
Because I but by the way, it's because I've done that on
purpose, because I don't want tofeel like I have to do this and
I'll do nuts and crannies. Well, I'm going to share what
I'm most proud of with you aftertwo years of this, OK, whether
the camera's on or not. What people don't know about you
(08:37):
is how when you ran other businesses in the best, how much
it was all consuming for you andyou really just like, you know,
whatever you're doing, you were like laser focused and all in
and you have like when you're saying that thing about lighter,
(08:58):
like you really have. I just wanted to clarify what
that meant. But you really have like you
love this and you're passionate about it, but you've been able
to be like, OK, I am going to belike with the kids first and
that's my priority and our family and travel is priority.
You take care of like, a lot of things that like we can't even
(09:23):
get into. How many things?
Do you take care of a lot of things and, and our family,
like, you know, is able to do all the things that we do
because of you. And so you do have a way better
balance this time around with this.
And I would say that you've likebeen done a great job of like,
(09:44):
you know, keeping this as like something that you're passionate
about. But like, it's not like you're
going to like, I'm not going to,I'm going to set up systems
because this isn't going to overtake my life.
The other thing that, like, people wouldn't know about you
like to answer the question I asked you is how passionate you
are about like helping women andhelping entrepreneurial women,
but other women just in general and to find community.
(10:06):
And like you, you were doing that in Omaha where you start
like a networking thing and through it.
Yeah, huge. And so it's just a natural gift
that you have. But like, I'm, I'm really proud
of how you've given all these women like a community and then
that us guys did a benefit from it too, you know.
(10:28):
But I'm, I am most proud of how you've handled like balancing
everything and that like you've,you have succeeded with this and
grown the business. You've helped all these women in
the process, but you have like really been able to keep it
light to you as yet. So.
(10:51):
Thank you. Cheers to.
You. Cheers.
