As a beacon of inspiration, our latest podcast episode unfurls the narrative of world evangelism, a story not of obligation but of elation in sharing salvation's joy. We weave through the rich tapestry of God's unending love, from the very blueprint of creation to the present day, beckoning a prayerful focus on global mission fields, like Indonesia's vibrant youth. The pages of "Christian Missions in Biblical Perspective" by J Herbert Kane await those yearning for a scriptural compass, guiding the missionary's heart amid the diverse landscapes of faith.

Amidst our profound discussions, we elevate the enduring spirit of Georgia Webb, whose legacy in equipping missionaries with Spanish whispers through the corridors of time, inspiring single women called to this sacred journey. Bridget Young, the poignant voice behind "Lost in the Gray," blesses us with her testimony, confronting the complexities of faith when life's hues blur. Together, we explore the essence of contribution in God's work—whether through giving or going—and invite you to join our ongoing mission to empower evangelism with your insights and stories, creating a fellowship enriched by the transformative message of Jesus Christ.

W. Austin Gardner (00:01):
Well, I want to welcome you to the third
podcast of the World Evangelism, the third episode of the World
Evangelism podcast.
I am so blessed that you wouldtake the time to watch on
YouTube or to listen to thepodcast and to invite other
people to like and subscribe andto share.
You'll be able to help us.
The goal here is to encourageand inspire world evangelism.

(00:27):
I don't want any guilt tripsput on anybody.
I don't want anybody thinkingthat if they're not a missionary
they're somehow failed.
I just want us to love Jesusand let the love of Jesus flow
through us, so that we love allpeople and want people to be
saved.
Our God is a wonderful, lovingGod From the very beginning.

(00:49):
The plan of salvation is His.
It doesn't start at Calvary, itdoesn't start in the New
Testament.
Before the foundation of theworld he already knew we would
sin.
He already knew man would fail.
Jesus was already prepared togo to the cross.
God didn't hate us and Jesusstep in to save us.
But God, loving everybodyeverywhere, was willing for his

(01:11):
son to take on the consequencesof all of our sin and to pay the
sin debt for everyone in theworld, so that everyone already
is reconciled.
Second Corinthians, chapterfive.
God doesn't hold their sinagainst them not anyone because
the debt's paid, the gift isprepared and it's theirs just to

(01:32):
believe and receive.
And so, as we talk about worldevangelism, I just want you to
get excited about theopportunity to share the gospel
message with other people.
Now for our Bible verse today, Iwant to take you to Genesis 9
and verse 17.
I need you to know.

(01:53):
I think you do know, but I wantto remind you that all of
salvation starts with God.
It is God who loved us first.
It is God who sought out Adamand Eve.
Adam and Eve, when they messedup, believed there was no hope
and no remedy and they ran, butGod ran to them.

(02:13):
They hid, but God found them.
They didn't look for God, butGod looked for them.
And that's what God's doing allaround the world Looking for
the lost, looking for those thatare His, that have lost their
way and don't know and need thegood news and this covenant he
made with Adam and then Noah.

(02:35):
This verse here is about Noah.
The Bible says and God saidunto Noah this is the token of
the covenant which I haveestablished between me and all
flesh that is upon the earth ofthe covenant which I've
established between me and allflesh that is upon the earth.
God made this covenant with usand he made it with all flesh
that is upon the earth, and so Ijust want you to remember that.
I want you to realize that, from the very beginning, god has

(02:57):
wanted everyone to hear thegospel, and God's wanted
everyone to be saved, and he isactively working in our hearts
to carry his good news.
No guilt and no pressure.
But maybe, like me, it was bornin you that God loves everybody
and you want to share thatmessage.
I have loved doing exactly that.

(03:20):
I have loved sharing exactlythat the gospel message of Jesus
Christ.
Now, I have not yet learned andI will learn, but I have not
yet learned how to put on thescreen for you what I'm looking
at, to put on the screen for youwhat I'm looking at, but I want
to remind you that we ought topray.
We can't do everything, but wecan pray, and so I want to

(03:50):
challenge you to be involved inpraying for the world and
praying that people would getsaved, praying that people would
hear the gospel message ofJesus Christ.
So far, I have introduced you toChina and I know you know about
China and I know you're alreadypraying Now.
Thank you for that.
And then we have talked aboutIndia, the second largest
country in the world, and now Ibring you to Indonesia.
And Indonesia is a country insuch desperate need of the

(04:13):
gospel message of Jesus Christ, such desperate need of the
gospel message of Jesus Christ, and they are in the top four
countries in the world.
And so let me give you somefacts about Indonesia Now.
I have a few friends there andI hope you do.
I hope you have missionariesthat are traveling and serving
God all around the world.

(04:34):
But Indonesia currently, 57% ofthe people live in cities, in
the urban area.
Jakarta is their capital, and26% of the population is under
the age of 15.
That means one out of everyfour people are young.
They're still tender, they'restill open and could hear the
gospel.
They're still tender, they'restill open and could hear the

(04:58):
gospel.
Now there is a little bit of aproblem because there are 722
languages in the country.
You can find all this onoperationworldorg and all you
got to do is search for thecountry.
Their largest religion is Muslimand that is about 80% of the
people, and in what they callChristian, what they call people

(05:18):
.
Christian is 15.9%, and only5.6% of them are evangelical.
Out of the top 50 countriesthat persecute Christians around
the world, indonesia is in thevery top.
Indonesia is number 33 in thetop 50 of the places.
Now, it's a country in greatneed of the gospel.

(05:41):
It's Muslim.
It's hard, and so anybody weknow any of us, you and I as we
know people that are serving Godthere.
We should be praying for themthat God would help them carry
the gospel, and remember thecovenant Genesis, chapter 9,.
After the flood, he made acovenant with Noah, but that
covenant was to all flesh.
You see, god doesn't have justa few handful of chosen people,

(06:01):
it's all flesh, and so I justwant to challenge you to bear
that in mind and remember that.
Now, then, I like to talk to youabout a book each time, and the
book I'm about to show you andtalk to you about is Christian
Missions in Biblical Perspectiveby J Herbert Cain.

(06:23):
Now, those of you that areinterested in missions, this is
going to be a hard book tolocate.
I'm going to try to give you alink to it, but I want to tell
you, any book you can get by JHerbert Cain is well worth your
getting.
You should get the book and youshould use the book and you
should learn from him.
I have used him extensively.

(06:43):
What a great man and what aprivilege to be able to get a
hold of his books, and you needto do it now, while they're
still available.
He takes in this particularbook and he outlines how does
missions fit in the Bible, because sometimes, you know, you
tend to believe that missionsis only a New Testament thing,
but that's not true.

(07:04):
So he starts off with missionsin the Old Testament and then he
goes to missions in the Gospel,in the Acts, in the ministry of
Paul, and the Bible just keepson going.
He goes into historicalmissions A well-worth-your-read
book.
I hope you'll try to get a holdof this book and use it.
Now I'm going to talk to youabout a historical person.

(07:25):
That's not very historical, butthis is our third podcast and
this person's extremely specialto me.
Her name is Georgia Webb andshe wrote this book and it says
more than a dozen.
And I want to say this becauseI want you ladies to know that

(07:46):
you can be used.
Georgia Webb never married andshe is an old, old lady now and
she's the lady that taught meSpanish when I went to Mexico.
And she's the lady that taughtme Spanish when I went to Mexico
and she's the one that had theschool there and she taught us
how to speak Spanish and shehelped us to take the gospel.
She helped over 200 familiesover 200 families take the

(08:09):
gospel to the world.
And I don't know.
I wish I knew exactly how oldshe is she's well into her 80s,
and so this book right here isin English and Spanish.
She gave me this copy more thana dozen.
But what I want to talk to youabout Georgia Webb is I think
sometimes ladies doubt there's aplace for them, right, and they

(08:33):
don't know how much impact theycan have.
But Georgia Webb started alanguage school and taught 200
missionary families how to speakthe language.
Georgia Webb was a children'steacher and a ladies teacher and
Georgia Webb has lived and isstill living, but she has lived

(08:53):
a life, an example life ofsharing the gospel of Jesus
Christ.
This book here is 50 years andmore of ministry in the country
of Mexico.
So if you're listening, I justwant you to hear this and I'm
telling you this from the bottomof my heart and as sincerely as
I know how to.

(09:14):
If it bursts in you a desire totake the gospel and you're a
girl and you wonder well, wherecould I fit in if I'm not
married and I'm not a missionarywife.
Is there a place for me?
Georgia Webb would scream yes, there is.
And Georgia Webb would take ina Tennessee country boy with no
ability and push and harass andmake me learn Spanish.

(09:39):
And everything that God allowedme to do around the world in
Spanish had a lot to do with hertraining and her teaching.
So, young ladies, you listen.
I just want you to know thatmaybe it's birthed in you.
So many young ladies think, boy, god wants me to be a
missionary and you let thingsstand in your way and you don't
step out.
So I want to challenge you tostep out.

(10:01):
Remember our verse, genesis 9,17, says that it's a covenant
with all flesh.
Remember that Indonesia is indesperate need of the gospel
message of Jesus Christ.
I just want you to know God hasa plan and a place for you.
Now, something I am adding toour podcast as of this week I

(10:25):
want to say a challenge to mymissionary friends and then I
want to say, a challenge totheir pastors and mentors and
supporters.
And so the first challenge thisweek to the missionaries is
this.
So the first challenge thisweek to the missionaries is this
it's easy for you to get sohung up on producing that you

(10:48):
get discouraged.
Missionary attrition rate is atwell over 40%.
Missionaries quit.
They get discouraged, they messup, they fall into sin, and a
lot of that is because, missionary friend, you are
putting undue pressure on you.
God called you to be the seedsower, not the fruit grower.

(11:14):
You are the seed sower, not thefruit grower.
It's not your job.
Your job is to sow the seed.
It's the Holy Spirit's work.
He has to convict people.
He has to save people, he hasto open people's eyes, and he'll
do that.
So you work the process.

(11:34):
I want to challenge you to justgo out and share Jesus with
people.
Share the joy he put in yourheart.
Don't go out condemning themand putting them down.
They already know they're insin.
They already know they need aGod.
Go out and show them that Jesusloved them and died on a cross
for them and they can be saved.
Show them that salvation is notsomething they work to do, but

(11:56):
a gift they receive.
So remember this process, notproduct Process, not product.
Learn the language, learn theculture, share the gospel, go
out soul winning and go home andgo to bed and relax and know

(12:18):
that God will do God's work.
It's his harvest, not yours.
It's his work, not yours.
Some will sow and some willwater, but it will be God who
gives the increase.
Now that's a word to mymissionary friends.
I'd like to share just a briefword with supporters.
I'd like to share just a briefword with supporters.

(12:39):
Mysteries sometimes feel, Ithink, a pressure they don't
need to feel.
They feel like all the churchesand people that are supporting
them are watching them to seewhen they get a church started.
They feel like if they don'tmove quickly enough, you'll not
love them, respect them orsupport them.
I don't think that's true aboutyou, but that is a mistake that

(13:02):
the devil places into theirmind and something they think.
So I want to help you.
Help them by praying, notpressuring.
Praying, not pressuring.
Praying for people but notputting pressure on people.
Praying for people but notputting pressure on people.
Praying for people but notputting pressure on people

(13:23):
that's what I want to challengeyou to work on.
I want to challenge you to beconcerned about them as
individuals.
I want to ask you to be intouch with them.
They sometimes I hate to admitthis, but Mr Aries will
manufacture things for theirslideshow, because if they don't
produce enough, you might notlike them.

(13:53):
When I was still in Peru, amissionary contacted me and said
I need to make some picturesfor my slideshows.
Back in the days when therewere slideshows, he said you
know, and so I had this.
My ministry was three or fouror five times larger than his,
so he wanted to come to mychurch and stand in my pulpit
and have his picture taken satin Sunday school classes and
have his picture taken sat downwitnessing and discipling people
, and have his picture taken allat my church.
And he asked me if I'd bewilling to let him do that.

(14:14):
And I said, of course I'll beglad to anything I can do to
help you Cause.
And he did that and used thosepictures.
Bad on his side because he wastoo worried about the product
and not the process.
But nobody's made more mistakesas a missionary than I have,

(14:36):
and also maybe bad on the partof supporters who pressured
instead of prayed.
So if I could help you today, because that's the purpose of
this.
I want to encourage and inspireworld evangelism.
I want to empower young peopleto carry the gospel message of
Jesus Christ around the world.
I believe that's what you wanttoo, and so, if you'll help me

(14:57):
with the world evangelismpodcast, we'll bless the givers
and we'll bless the goers andwe'll bless everybody else, and
we'll bless the world by prayingand we'll learn a little bit,
and we'll bless everybody elseand we'll bless the world by
praying and we'll learn a littlebit about the Bible.
As we go through this and thenall along the way, I'm going to
be bringing to you specialeditions Right now.
Tomorrow you should hear thelast of a three-part series by

(15:20):
Bridget Young, who wrote a bookcalled Lost in the Gray, and
Bridget shares her testimony ofwhat it was like to be lost in
the gray, because it wasn'tblack and white, it wasn't yes
or no, it was a hard decisionand she had to figure that out
because she was losing anotherbaby, and it was the baby or her

(15:43):
.
So read the book and listen tothe podcast and thank you so
much for being a part.
We want to empower young peopleand everybody, givers and goers
.
We want to inspire people tocarry the gospel message to the
world, and the minute I don'tthink I'm helping you or
blessing you, I'm going to stopthis podcast.
So thank you so much forlistening, and if there's

(16:05):
anything I can do to help you, feel free to get in touch with
me.
