Hello Less here. Many of youlistening to this may already know me
(00:44):
from the Worse Than Fiction podcast.I'm glad you're here for this. If
that's the case, and if thispodcast is new to you, this is
a different version of the original.Worse Than Fiction is a true horror podcast
that is aimed at making the listenerfeel the terror of real stories. And
(01:06):
to do that, I only telltales that have a resolution. Those are
the stories that have all of theavailable information accessible and are able to be
told in full with no rabbit holesto dive into. Unsolved, however,
will leave us all speculating as towhat may have happened, as unsolved stories
(01:32):
usually do stories of unsolved disappearances, murders, and perhaps other odd occurrences that
may leave you with more questions thanthere are answers. These tales are,
after all, worse than fiction aswell, and quite often not having an
answer can be a torment that lingersuntil a loved one's final day. I
(01:59):
want to bring these stories to light, and, with any bit of luck,
maybe even reignite that fire that leadsto a conclusion. I will readily
admit, though, that the normalstories of terror I tell are more than
enough work to keep me busy, which is why I won't be doing this
(02:21):
alone. In fact, the majorityof these stories will be told by a
co host, and I'll come intoit with some of the facts kept secret
from me, though I will dosome of my own research, and that's
where I'm coming in. My nameis Chelsea, and I help run a
little spot on Facebook called The detestableand the damned. I want to know
(02:46):
what keeps you up at night, what you're afraid having, your own search
history, and I'm here to bringthat to you. My background is in
biology, so eventually i'll share thatwith you. Until then, it's the
mysteries then not knowing. After all, sometimes the unsolved is truly worse than
(03:09):
fiction. This case is a veryfrustrating one. Imagine it was your son
or brother or husband. It's beeneight long years and not even a shred
of clothing has turned up from thisone. It has affairs, murder for
higher, questionable detective work, andone man seemingly caught in the cross hairs.
(03:32):
But you never saw this one onthe ID Channel or anywhere else.
Come to think of it, I'dlike to think that here in Appalachia we
take care of our own, whichis why I'm telling you this story with
less. Our first episode is abouta young man, early mid twenties,
lean handsome, had everything going forhim. He walked out his front door,
(04:00):
said bye to his mother, andwas never seen again. He isn't
his dangered missing person, not justa missing person given danger. They they've
just not done anything. Fuck aboutGod, but a bag. He comes
(04:24):
home with a gun, borrow markand it's forehead. Your your story doesn't
match up with what the police haveto say. What's the weas that today?
We're right. I'll try to tellyou we're not going to try this
thing here and me, okay, witness, sir, I got witness.
(04:47):
Oh yeah. It scares me toknow that my brother isn't this hymn And
if something had happened to him andhe asked for protections, he wouldn't get
to justice. He just like loveingwith the justice he deserves. But I
(05:09):
can't answer you a question. I'msorry that I can't answer your question.
But I'm not the police department andI'm not doing this. I'm not doing
the case. What if it wasyour job or a job or a job
