(02:30):
we get started, I do want to letyou know that this is actually
going to be a two parter.
There's a lot in this subjectthat we're talking about today
and how you see yourself how itaffects your journey. And so
this is a two parter. So at theend of this, just make sure that
you look for part two of thisepisode. And I hope you enjoy
(02:53):
time to get back to the show.
Today we're diving into asubject that I have to say has
kinda had me perplexed for sometime. And just to kind of give a
little update, you know, what'sbeen going on with me, I've
(03:16):
literally just been taking myown advice, and making sure that
everything that I'm telling youthat is helpful to do, and I've,
I've done it before, and I mightbe doing things a little
differently as I grow. But Istill want to make sure that if
I'm telling you to do something,or suggesting something for you
(03:39):
to do that, I'm doing it myself.
And I know it works because I'mdoing it myself. So that's kind
of where I've been the lastthree weeks is just really
getting that balance of youknow, emotional health, mental
health, spiritual health. Andnow physical health. He yay
Latin dancing. Give me a hollerif you're doing Latin dancing,
(04:01):
by the way.
So that is where I've been. AndI've kind of been perplexed by
this question, because probablyabout four weeks ago, I was
creating another podcast talkingabout the Proverbs 31 woman. And
it just got me thinking and so Iwas gonna do a whole other
episode had it all recorded, butyou know what, I could not
(04:25):
release it because it just didnot feel right. It wasn't
getting to the message, thepoint of where God wanted me to
present it for you, or evenwhere I needed to be with that.
So that's what we're gettinginto getting into today. This is
like a delayed message delayedby the Lord because I had to get
(04:49):
through some things to be ableto present this to you so that
God can reach you where you areright now. So I mentioned the
Proverbs 31Women and this isn't necessarily
all going to be about theProverbs 31 woman. But basically
in summary, what happened isthat I was like reading about
the Proverbs 31. Woman, and thenit just kind of struck me like,
(05:12):
okay, I used to hate hearingabout the Proverbs 31 woman
because I was like, I am justnot her. And that just got me
thinking, like, what is that allabout? If you look at the
Proverbs 31 woman, she's aregular woman working hard to
take care of herself and herfamily. And in reality, that's
(05:33):
really all of us.
Each of us are a proverbs 31.
Woman, you may not haveeverything that is listed in
that particular proverb that theProverbs 31 woman had, but
you're still working hard totake care of yourself, your
family, your circle, everythingin your responsibility, and
(05:57):
really got me thinking of justthis mindset that we get about
either the Proverbs 31 woman, ormaybe it's somebody that we see
on social media, or somebodythat we know in real life that
just seems to have all together, they're like, the perfect
person, and you're just like, you know what, I'm just never
(06:18):
gonna be her. And I started justkind of taking a look and
realizing that the onlydifference between you in that
perfect person, quotations, perfect person that just seems
unattainable to you, isperception.
(06:38):
That's really the onlydifference between you and this,
Proverbs 31, perfect woman inyour life. And it just really
got me thinking about how we seeourselves. And this really gets
into the message of who God saysyou are, that you are loved. You
(07:03):
are fearfully and wonderfullymade. You are created by the
Almighty God. I mean, if youread the scriptures, and think
of all the things that God hasdone for his people, so that
they can have salvation, honey, you are his people. And you need
to hear that you need torecognize that if you have a
(07:25):
relationship with God, and Godis working in your life, you are
his people, you are part of hisplan, from the beginnings of the
world, from Adam and Eve, youwere part of his plan, you are
his people.
And that's really where I wantto take us today. And really,
(07:46):
where I want to take ourperspective of how we see
ourselves and how that's reallybroken down, just in the day to
day life that we have right hereright now, and 2021. So we're
taking a modern look at thisproverbs 31 woman, and really
just taking a look at the truthof the Scriptures that is
(08:09):
timeless, and how it affects howwe really should be seeing
ourselves. I'll ask you this, because this is one of my
exercises that I have people doto really just help them to see
themselves more clearly.
So first thing you do is takeyour most prominent thought
(08:30):
about yourself. Most often, it'sa negative thought that is
prevalent in your brain. Most ofthe day, when you think about
yourself, it's this negativethought I want you to write that
down. And you can do thisseveral times, there may be
several things that you thinkabout yourself, just write those
down, because we're exposingfraud, we're exposing those lies
(08:56):
right now. So write thatprevalent site down, and then
really look at it, read it outloud to yourself.
So for myself, when I was goingthrough this, the main thought
was, I am worthless. And youknow, I just kept telling myself
(09:16):
that and what I didn't realizeat the time was that every time
I told myself that it was justingraining it more and more into
my heart in my mind. And itwasn't until God really just
started working on me andchipping away I was like God
here you can have the keys tothis temple, you got the keys,
(09:36):
do whatever work you need to do.
And that is when God like reallygot to work.
So then I'm starting to look athow I'm looking at myself and I
start these exercises and writedown this prevalent thought of I
am worthless, and then I'm justlooking at it and I'm thinking
(09:58):
about it. I'm like Who does Godsay I am? Does God actually say
this in the scriptures? And thereason why we're, we're asking
is this who God says I am, isbecause God is our Creator. He's
the one that knows more aboutyou than you know about
yourself. He knows every singlefacet of you. And he knows every
(10:22):
single possibility that he hascreated for you, because he is
the all mighty, omnipotentcreator, he knows everything
about you, your past, yourpresent, and your future.
So that's why we take theseprevalent thoughts to the Lord,
and we take them to his livingword that he has given us. And
(10:45):
we can take that Living Word andreally look at the truth of what
that prevalent thought is. Soobviously, if I look in the
Scriptures, I'm not going tofind it say that you are
worthless, I'm going to find itsay that I am worth more than
rubies as a woman of God that Iwas thought worth the price that
(11:09):
Jesus paid to die on the crossso that I could have the
opportunity to live an eternallife with him in heaven.
There's so much truth in theScripture, that we can literally
use that to combat thosenegative thoughts that are
prevalent in our minds thatplague us day in and day out.
(11:32):
And they're basically theoperators of that emotional
roller coaster. We need to firethat operator and not feel bad
about that. Sorry, not sorry.
Actually jubilant! So as we moveforward with this, and you look
at that prevalent thought, takeit to the Scripture, what does
(11:55):
God's word say about whateverthat prevalent thought is? Maybe
it's, I am unlovable to you, girl. Let me tell you, there's
so much in the scriptures thatsay that you are absolutely
loved. And there's absolutetruth that you can find there.
(12:16):
Now, the other thing that Iwonder about when I think about
those prevalent thoughts is,Where is that coming from. And
usually, it's something that youhave started to believe, but
it's because of influences thatare coming either from the world
(12:37):
or spiritual warfare, and we'retalking the enemy of God, I'm
not going to name that enemy,Oh, God, because I will glorify
God, and even just identifyingthat. So a lot of times, those
negative thoughts are actuallyfed by things that we believe
(12:57):
from either the world orspiritual warfare. And pretty
much it's all spiritual warfare.
Because the enemy of God is theenemy of our souls, he just
wants to take us out so that Goddoesn't have us in heaven.
That's basically it.
And God is giving us these toolsthat we can use to combat that.
(13:21):
And so that is the basis that'sthat's the reason for this
podcast. Because if I canequipped you, with these tools,
and help you understand how youcan combat these battle tactics
that are being used against you, you're going to be all the
better and you're going to becloser to God, because of it.
(13:43):
That is the ultimate goal. Iwant you to have the ultimate
best relationship with God ever, and continuing to grow beyond
your wildest imagination. So ifyou ever wonder what my motive
is, that's it.
So let me ask you, we know thescripture in Jeremiah 2911. For
I know the plans I have for you, declares the Lord. So we know
(14:04):
that scripture and in times oftrouble and times of fear and
worry, a lot of times, that's ascripture that we hold on to,
you know what, like, I'm goingthrough a hard time but God
says, I know the plans I havefor you. But I want to look at
that in a slightly differentperspective right now and ask
you how are you ever going toachieve the plans that God has
(14:28):
for you, if you're stillallowing your thoughts to be
influenced by God's enemy? Andat first, I don't know you may
think Well, no, I'm not lettinghim affect me. But the enemy has
subtle, very subtle and usesmany means to try to influence
us in try to break us down.
(14:50):
And so we have to be as thescripture says, circumspect,
watching. We have to watch ourgates, our eyes or ears or in
our mouth, we have to watch ourgates, guard our gates, and just
really start to limit or justsafeguard yourself. It's
(15:11):
basically like what people saywhen they're trying to stay away
from toxic situations or toxicpeople. It's the same thing. But
it's with a spiritual eye andrecognizing the enemies games
and how the enemy works. Andone, once you learn emotional
intelligence, which is a lot ofwhat I'm trying to teach you
(15:32):
here, once you begin to learnabout emotional intelligence,
your eyes are going to be open, and you're going to be able to
see like, Oh, that's what'sgoing on here. Like, you're,
you're literally getting insidethe enemy's planning meeting,
and being able to see what kindof tactics are being used on
(15:54):
you. And that's gonna make youall the more stronger, and all
the more closer to God. I mean, this is gonna be I mean, this is
life changing. It was absolutelylife changing.
For me, this is what took me Godworking in me and showing me
this after I was in a placewhere I literally was ready to
(16:16):
end my life. And I called out toGod because I knew it wasn't
right. And I didn't know whatelse to do. And gotcha right up
right there. In that moment, when I called out in when I
asked him to begin working in meand showing me how he was going
to work in me what future I hadwith him. That's when he began
(16:39):
to show me and I began to learnabout and learn how to use
emotional intelligence. It is anabsolute game changer. And it
may not sound like it'ssomething that is spiritual
warfare, but it really is. It'sgiving you a weapon in the
battle and a brand new weapon inthe battle, brand new defense in
(17:03):
the battle that you can use todefend yourself. And basically
its offense and its defense, butwe're learning how to use it as
offense right now. Because Godis our defense. And he's like
the best Okay, I ain't nobodycan go up against God. No. Yeah,
that didn't work the first timehe tried it. I don't know why
(17:24):
he's trying again. Anyway,moving on.
