Michelle Remington (00:00):
Welcome
back, you beautiful warrior, you
(00:02):
have just entered into part twoof this two part episode on how
you see yourself, and how it isaffecting your life, how it's
affecting your future and theplans that God has for you. So,
so far we've gone over sometools that you can use to assess
(00:27):
where you are, you take thatprevalent thought that just nags
you and burdens you in your mindthat you think about yourself.
Write that down. And then yourooted in God's word. look that
up in God's word and find thetruth about what God says about
you in His Word, and you'regonna find that that thought
(00:51):
that nags you that is justprevalent in your mind that's
just negative on you and breaksyou down. There's no truth in
it. And so we're going to takethat and we're going to allow
God your Creator, to tell you,who you are, and the truth of
who you are. So we're gonnacontinue on with that, in this
(01:15):
next part of the episode, I hopeyou enjoy.
Worth It! Intro (01:18):
Welcome to
worth it, the podcast where we
answer anxiety, deflate fear, and shut down shame, because
ain't no woman got time for thatyou were made to thrive. My
mission is to help you getdeeply rooted with God and
reclaim your weapon that theenemy of God has been using
against you. After going tobattle for my own mind three
(01:39):
years ago, I realized that thereis a war going on for our minds,
a battle that begins with how wethink says you have much more
control than you realize, witheach episode, you'll learn how
to fight back and become moreconfident and the truth that God
already knows, you are worth it.
I'm Michelle Remington,Christian mindset coach, thought
(01:59):
strategist, and warrior Mama.
Grab your sword daughter of theking, it's time to unleash your
inner warrior princess.
Michelle Remington (02:17):
So as we
move forward with this, and you
take that thought, I want you totry to look at this prevalent
thought that's been in your mindand try to go back and think
back on where that came from andpray about it. Let me just tell
you, you can take all of thesethings to God. And the best way
(02:39):
that you can really move throughthis journey is with God, and
you got to get real with God.
And it's gonna take somepractice, okay, because quite
honestly, I would pray to God, Iwould say the same thing every
time. And I would pray to Godevery every day, and there's
nothing wrong with that. But ifyou're in spiritual warfare, you
(03:00):
have to get real, you got to getreal about your emotions,
because I was I would notunderstand what God was doing.
And I would be angry aboutsomething that was going on. But
I was like, well, I can't talkto God like that. So I'm just
gonna keep it to myself, well, that was only eating away at
myself. So you really have toget to the point where you can
(03:23):
be real with God. And it maytake you some practice, and
that's okay. But getting to thepoint where you're real with God
is where real healing canhappen.
For example, for me, years, andyears ago, when I had had some
miscarriages, we had been tryingfor years and years and years to
(03:46):
have a child. And I was so mad.
I didn't understand why it washappening. And so for a while, I
would think, you know, I can'tbe mad at God, I just can't do
that. But I realized after awhile that it wasn't getting me
anywhere. So then I would go toGod. And I would say, God, I'm
so angry. I don't understand whythis is happening. Please help
(04:10):
me to understand helped me toget through this. In it's in
that raw emotion of being realwith God, that He began to work
in me it was kind of like, stepping up and be like, God,
I'm ready for you to, to levelup. Let's level up. Okay, let's,
let's go further. Let's gohigher, because I know that
(04:34):
you're my strength. You're theone that is helping me through
this life. You know exactlywhat's going on. I'm just
frustrated because I don't knowwhat's going on. So please help
me.
It's just opening a door for Godto work more in your life. So as
you go through this, and look atthat prevalent thought, starting
(04:59):
to think about what where itcame from. And maybe there's a
precise memory that you canremember. Or it might be
something this just kind oftrickled in, over the years of
thinking that you're worth iteither way, you have to gain the
strength and the courage tobegin to change those thoughts.
(05:21):
And believe it or not, it can bescary at first, because you get
to the point where you'rethinking, I'm stuck. This is
just the way I am. This is how Ithink I can't change the way I
think. And I was there before.
And then I got to the pointwhere I'm like, Well, I'm just
so frustrated with with where Iam, why do I keep telling myself
(05:42):
that I can't change that I can'tthink in a different way that I
can't see things in a differentway. I mean, God made us so
complex and so flexible andadjustable. Not to make it sound
like furniture, but you know, Imean, he made it so that we can
adapt to the situations, whycan't our brain adapt? Why can't
(06:07):
we learn how to think moreclearly about things and see
things more clearly. I mean, after all, when you begin your
relationship with God, I mean,God's already working in you,
he's doing the work, right. Soif you then in this journey to
(06:27):
try to change your thinking andgain emotional intelligence,
it's just like, when you'restarting your walk of faith with
God, you're asking God to workin you and help you to see these
things.
It's, it's just kind of abroader path. But you're asking
God to do the same thing. Butnow you're more of a
(06:48):
participant. Now, I'm using alot of psychology terminology
here. And you may have heardthis before, of having like,
limited beliefs. But I'm goingto put it to you a different way
with this question. How can weseek and live for God and for
(07:08):
his ways, if we limit ourthoughts to the ways of this
world, we actually can limitourselves in how we think. And
also in how we see ourselves, wecan limit ourselves with all of
that. I mean, and this is alltrue in the scriptures. And we
(07:30):
have many examples in thescriptures of people that
limited themselves, because theywere stuck in the thought
patterns in the ways of theworld. But then again, as we
began a relationship with God,that's what we're getting away
from is realizing that the waysof the world aren't working
anymore, and we want God's ways.
So is just taking up more ofthat barrier.
(07:56):
We're basically with thisjourney, we're doing everything
that you would when you begin arelationship with God, but we're
taking it a step further. Andyes, you may be taking those
steps again, but you're takingthose steps again, further along
in your journey with God withmore wisdom, and more knowledge
(08:17):
and a closer relationship withGod, that's gonna lead you and
guide you further up themountain. So looking at where
these prevalent thoughts havecome from, usually, they come
from lies that we believe aboutourselves, either somebody
(08:37):
influenced us when we wereyounger. And that's something
that we just kind of latched onto because we didn't know any
better. You're either younger,or you were more vulnerable at
that point.
So we have to decide if we'regoing to keep living those lies
that are keeping us in thatlimited space that are limiting
(09:02):
our growth. Because in yourrelationship with God, when you
decide that you're going to livefor God and begin a relationship
with him, you make a choice tolet go of some things. Or we're
just doing that, again, we'remaking that choice to let go of
those lies that are holding usback from living a deeper life
(09:27):
with God, and really allowingGod to take us to the plans that
He has for us. And one keyfactor as you go along this
journey, and you start toanalyze those negative thoughts
that are prevalent in your mindand really assess Is this
(09:48):
something that's based in truth,or is this something that is a
lie that I've been believing?
And the reason why we'regrounding it in God's word is
because we know that God's wordis is the ultimate truth.
So it's not do I believe thisabout myself or not? It's what
does my Creator, the ultimatecreator of everything say about
(10:11):
this thought that I have beenthinking? What does he have to
say about it? Is it true? Ifit's not true, and I'm telling
you right now, it's not, it maybe true to some people that may
think that but usually whenpeople act out, and abuse and
(10:31):
like mentally, physically, emotionally, any, any sort of
abuse, when people say thingslike that to you to break you
down, that's literally arepresentation of some mess that
they have going on in their ownmind their own heart, we need to
pray for them. But you may be ina spot where you're vulnerable
(10:52):
at that moment, and you justdon't know that we know it. Now
you do.
I just gave you another toolthat you can use. And it will
help you to process youremotions better to process and
react to things better, knowingthat the mean nasty, negative
things that people say, arecoming straight from them, it's
(11:15):
a reflection of some kind ofemotional mess that's going on
in them. So when you understandthat those lies are untrue, the
key is that you have to believethat you are worth it. And I'm
not just doing some gimmickything with the show name, you
(11:36):
have to believe that you areworth it, you're worth the
journey, you're worth your life,Jesus, that you are worth it,
when he died on the cross foryou so that you would have the
opportunity to live in eternallife, you have to believe that
you are worth it.
And that starts with believingthat you are here for a reason.
(11:59):
And it's not just somecircumstance, happenstance kind
of thing. You are here for areason, you are here on purpose
for a purpose because Godcreated you, your life is worth
it, you are worth it, yourjourney ahead, is worth it.
(12:20):
Jesus sacrificed himself becausehe thought you were worth it.
And I'm just gonna be very real, very raw here. If you believe
that Jesus died on the cross foryou, so that you would have the
opportunity for salvation and tolive in eternal life with him in
(12:41):
heaven, then you have to believethat you are worth it.
And it's not some worldly, youknow, girl, I'm worth it kind of
thing. This is fighting words, are you worth the fight? And the
answer is yes, the creator ofthe world has already answered
that question. And so when youbegin to answer that question,
(13:02):
Yes, Lord, I believe I am worthit. And I believe that you have
a plan for me, and I'm going totrust you. And I am going to
submit myself to you God, sothat I can live out that plan,
live out that amazing libertythat you have for me. So with
(13:23):
all that said, it's time to getto work if you've been feeling
stuck, or stagnant, ready tomove, but there's just something
blocking.
Today, that block has been takenaway, today is the day to move
ahead and keep moving. So maybeyou start with that one thought
(13:45):
that is prevalent in your mindthat just plagues you day in and
day out. And just really causesyou so much misery and pain. And
it feeds your fear and youranxiety. Start with that one
thought, and then be bold. Andtake that next thought, and the
next thought and the nextthought and analyze those
(14:06):
thoughts. Put them up againstthe Word of God. Is it true? I
can already tell tell you theanswer that it's not, but put it
up against God's word. And whatI want you to do is read out
God's word, when you find it inrelation to whatever that
prevalent thought is. Read thatout loud, is what I call a
(14:30):
double whammy or a triple whammyrather. So you're reading it.
You're seeing it with your eyes.
You're speaking it out loud, andthen you're hearing it with your
ears. That is powerful.
You are telling yourself theopposite of whatever that lie
is. And what you're tellingyourself isn't just mere words.
(14:52):
It's the Word of God. And wealready know that the word of
God is powerful, sharper than atwo edged sword. sword, piercing
even to the dividing asunder ofthe soul and spirit, and of the
joints in the morrow, and is adiscerner of the thoughts and
intents of the heart, the Wordof God will cut through those
(15:14):
lies, and will infuse into youlife. Because God's word is
life. It's time to fight foryou. If you've felt like you've
been fighting against yourself, now it's time to turn the tables
because God is ready andwaiting. And it's time to fight
(15:37):
for you. You're worth it. Godthinks you're worth it, you have
to believe that you are worthit.
Let's go ahead and finish inprayer. Lord Jesus, we're in a
spiritual battle. For souls. Theenemy is trying so hard to take
(15:59):
down as many of the women thatyou have created and love as
possible. And Lord today, I'm sothankful that you allowed me to
provide tools, and some actualsteps that can be taken to begin
combating that. So I pray, Lord, that for each woman as she hears
(16:23):
this begins to take those stepsto combat those lies, and take
back her weapon to take back herrightful mind that should be in
you.
And I pray, Lord, that You wouldhelp her through this process,
open our eyes, her mind herheart, help her to see those
(16:46):
lies, director in your scriptureso that she can find your truth.
And I pray, Lord, that You wouldhelp her to draw closer to you
with each step. She takes, Lord,God, you are so good, and you
love us so much like we cannoteven contain it. Or even think
(17:06):
about the whole of how you loveus in our minds. It is so big
and so profound. And I thank youfor that God. And I pray, Lord,
that You would continue to workmightily in us. And I pray,
Lord, that along the way, thatyou would help us to build each
(17:26):
other up, as well. As we learnemotional intelligence, and how
you want us to use the emotionalintelligence, it's going to make
us stronger. And I pray, Lord, that You would help us to use
that strength that you aregiving us to build up others and
continue the chain of the womenthat you are building up back to
(17:51):
yourself. We praise you, Jesus,we glorify you, God, I pray,
Lord, that You would help eachwoman that hears this to draw
closer to you than they everthought possible. It's in your
name Jesus, we pray. Amen. Amen.
