and Holly.
Speaker 1 (00:51):
It's not fair that
people are seated first come,
first served.
It should be based on who'shungriest, who can drop you like
a bag of dirt.
Speaker 3 (00:58):
I'm a thunder, only
to pay up those when it's
raining.
Why are the pretty ones alwaysinsane?
Speaker 5 (01:12):
I gotta tell you, I
have no idea where this is going
.
Speaker 2 (01:19):
Do you just?
Speaker 3 (01:20):
get up in the morning
and figure out ways to make me
crazy.
Speaker 1 (01:24):
WQS.
Good morning, it is 6.08.
That's what was playing when wewent up to accept the award
Saturday night.
Speaker 2 (01:31):
It sure was.
Speaker 1 (01:31):
Yeah, wasn't that
cool.
Speaker 2 (01:33):
We should have walked
slower, so they could have
played some of our the entiresong.
Yeah.
Speaker 1 (01:38):
It's weird knowing
that the Abby Awards were
talking about the entry we sentin to be judged on the morning
show.
You do like a 10-minute pieceand that was the very first
thing that the judges, the radiofolks in other states, heard.
Speaker 5 (01:51):
Yeah.
Speaker 1 (01:52):
And this blows my
mind what happens Saturday night
?
Speaker 2 (01:55):
Do you see people
jamming to it?
Yes, their head bobbing.
Speaker 1 (01:59):
That's just a song.
Whether you like pop, rock, country, it's just one that's
going to be around forever.
Speaker 2 (02:04):
It's just a good one.
Speaker 1 (02:05):
It's just a relaxing
song and it was good to walk up
to.
And, if you missed the news, wehad an amazing night Saturday
night at the AlabamaBroadcasters Association Awards.
We need to find a way to putthese up in front of the camera.
Speaker 2 (02:18):
I know we won four
awards.
Yeah, I had to walk up to theone about mooning in the country
.
That's what you were trying tothink of that night it was, I
couldn't.
Speaker 1 (02:30):
That was it anyway.
Speaker 2 (02:31):
We called it
something yeah, we were, we were
.
We kept saying total eclipse ofthe heart.
Yeah, me and will, and then we.
It was no, I got mooned in thecountry.
Speaker 1 (02:41):
that was it because
that promo and that whole thing
won an award for best promo andwe can play the promo again, if
you want to, in a minute.
Speaker 2 (02:50):
Okay.
Speaker 1 (02:51):
We can play that.
But anyway, the big thing waswe were absolutely honored.
Yes, all four awards meansomething because it goes to the
radio station.
One, power 107.5.
One won for best sports talkshow with the Coach Burt Brown
Show.
We won that one.
Yeah, somehow, yeah, no, andthen we won three.
Speaker 2 (03:14):
We had a good entry
on it we did?
Speaker 1 (03:15):
We won three for WQSB
yeah, like you said, station
Promo for the Solar Eclipse.
We won Best Public Service, which we've got to give a shout
out to our buddy doug, and one.
Speaker 2 (03:26):
Yes, we got a shelter
our wolf stock.
Speaker 1 (03:29):
Promotion one for
best public service.
Uh promotion of the year yeahthat's for the state.
That is huge, that's huge.
And then in the final, one ofthe last awards of the night,
they hold what they call some ofthe big ones, like for tv, best
newscaster, best weather, yeah, best sports and then best
morning show.
And for the state of alabama.
(03:49):
We were lucky enough to win forthe the second year in a row
and it's unbelievable bestmorning show in the state of
alabama we were talking fridayand we really I think we we have
a fun show, yeah, whether it'sgood or not, I don't know.
I've never thought I was good atradio yeah.
I just enjoy what I do and Ihave fun and if you like it, I
(04:11):
hope you do.
If you don't, I'm sorry, I justlike to yap yeah, you know.
So we thought we put a goodentry together.
And they send these off forother radio people in other
states to listen to and judge.
So it's nobody in Alabama thejudge, it's other people.
It's like our peers in otherstates to listen to and judge.
So it's nobody in alabama tojudge, it's other people, it's
like our peers in other states.
And, yeah, it's an honor toknow that there are people
sitting there who do what we doand they listen and said you
(04:31):
know, that may be the best oneI've heard today.
I'm giving it a 10 out of 10yeah, it's an honor, for sure it
is and we may not.
Speaker 2 (04:40):
I don't know.
You said that we've nevergotten two in a row.
Speaker 1 (04:44):
No.
Speaker 2 (04:45):
I don't know if we
could do three in a row, that's
a lot of pressure.
Speaker 1 (04:48):
I was shocked we won
two in a row.
Speaker 2 (04:49):
Yeah, I can't believe
that.
Speaker 1 (04:51):
Because as the night
went on, we were thinking I just
don't want to Because we'd wonthree.
I thought this has been areally good night.
Speaker 2 (04:56):
Yeah.
Speaker 1 (04:57):
Three over the state
is huge.
Speaker 2 (05:06):
But to win the fourth
one yeah, that was an honor and
you kept saying, if we don'twin morning show, it's okay, it
is okay, we still have a goodshow.
Speaker 1 (05:10):
And I said, no, I'm
gonna flip the table and I would
have I'm gonna flip the tableand everybody is gonna get food
and salad dressing on theirbeautiful clothes, and I'm sorry
yeah, everybody's so dressed upwell then, yeah everybody looks
like we didn't even plan this, but most of our staff were
blacks.
Speaker 2 (05:26):
Yeah, so we made a
joke that, or you did that.
If we lose, it was going to bethe morning show, the M-O-U-R-N.
Speaker 1 (05:34):
We're all in mourning
.
We're in mourning, yeah, butit's weird because Stone showed
up, will showed up, ariel, rachel, yeah, everybody in black
.
Drew Carson.
Speaker 2 (05:45):
Well, Drew Carson,
Well, Drew's in blue, oh well,
he's always a little different.
You've got to stand out.
Speaker 1 (05:48):
But it was just a
great night.
A lot of pictures and videos.
I encourage you to go watch thevideos.
There's one of us winning themorning show and we'll talk
about that later.
Speaker 2 (05:57):
And Barry dropped the
microphone.
Speaker 1 (06:00):
It's probably the
second most embarrassing moment
of my life.
We go up to accept your award, you speak Great speech, and then
I walk up to the mic.
It's kind of pointed down soI'm going to move it up a little
bit.
The minute I grabbed it, itshot out of my hand, bounced off
the stage Like a rocket and thewhole room went.
(06:21):
I know Everybody got quiet.
Speaker 2 (06:27):
But, like you said, I
think it was meant to happen,
because you got a lot ofimportant words to say.
I think that kind of caughteverybody's attention.
Speaker 1 (06:32):
It did yeah some
people were still eating their
food and they were not payingattention when that mic dropped
everybody looked yeah, itstopped and what they were doing
and looked and then it gottheir attention and then you can
watch it.
We'll talk more about what wesaid, but it was an emotional
night and a special night and Ijust felt like there was
something I needed to say, yeah, and I thought that was the
perfect time.
Speaker 2 (06:52):
It was, and it was
hard to do get through.
Yeah, Well, it will always beBarry.
I think we were talking aboutReed and honoring him with the
award, and I think that for therest of your life, that will
never be something like oh, thisis easy for me to talk about
now.
Speaker 1 (07:10):
It's been three years
and it was not.
It was still.
If you want to watch the videoof us winning the award, which
is the first time this has everbeen put up on Facebook, usually
that's what happens in thatroom stays in that room,
basically yeah, other thanpictures of the awards.
What happens in that room staysin that room, basically yeah,
other than pictures of theawards.
Yeah, but there's a video.
There's a video and it's up onour Facebook page and we've got
so many nice comments and I'mtrying to reach out and respond
(07:32):
to everybody who commentedyesterday, but I was tired.
It's a good tired becausepeople were responding and it
means a lot.
Don't think that we didn't seeyour comments, because I read
every one of them.
No, I read every single one ofthem, Every single one of them,
and it makes us emotionalbecause we are excited for the
stations and the fact that ourowners couldn't attend.
(07:54):
I hated that as the first onethat Mr and Mrs Currington have
not been to because of healthissues, and hated that so bad
because I know they would havebeen so proud to have been
sitting there.
Yeah, hated that so bad becauseI know they would have been so
proud to have been sitting there.
Speaker 2 (08:04):
Yeah, it was a sad
moment to not have them there.
But they were super proud andwe were in contact with them and
were texting, and Drew wassending pictures and she was
proud of us along the way of allour wins, proud of us along the
way of all our wins.
But, you know, I'm thankful forthose that we sat with because
(08:30):
I really truly felt supported.
You know, like the people thatwere with us there I felt like
were truly happy for us.
Speaker 1 (08:41):
I don't think they
were there just to fill a seat.
Speaker 2 (08:43):
No.
Speaker 1 (08:44):
There were some
tables.
You look around and they werejust there because the company
had 10 seats and had to fillthem.
Speaker 5 (08:48):
Mm-hmm.
Speaker 1 (08:49):
Ours could have
easily said nope, got to help
somebody move, Got to go to aball game Got to do this Because
it's in Birmingham.
Speaker 2 (08:57):
Yeah, it's at
Birmingham and it starts at 7
o'clock at night.
Like that takes up your wholeday, finish till about 10
o'clock.
Speaker 1 (09:10):
It's about a three
hour thing and they took time
out of their lives to comesupport the radio stations, and
it means a lot, yeah rachel wasone of them.
Speaker 2 (09:13):
Yeah, stone stone,
and his fiancee will and his
wife carson sat next to me,carson drew sit right across
from
Speaker 1 (09:17):
us and yeah uh, and
it was a just a great night it
was yeah so we'll talk moreabout that coming up.
Other things going on todayweather wise.
How about the weather?
Speaker 2 (09:26):
25 to 30 degrees
cooler than this time last week
I know I'm I'm, I'm cold and I'mhot and I'm cold and I'm hot
filing a complaint oh, I don'tknow who is I don't know.
Speaker 1 (09:36):
Since we want an abby
, I think we've got some pull,
but it's a 57 today.
Last week it was 87 and it'sjust a nasty morning this
morning.
It's the kind of morning youjust want to roll back over and
lay down.
Speaker 2 (09:49):
Talking about nasty
yesterday.
Oh, it was miserable.
Speaker 1 (09:53):
It was nasty the
storms and the heavy rain but it
gets better during the week.
We'll tell you about that, butwhat else is going on today?
Speaker 2 (09:59):
Today is some of
y'all's favorite day.
It is National Beer Day ofy'all's favorite day it is
national beer day.
Speaker 1 (10:06):
Oh yeah, national
beer day and I will say, being
totally honest, I've never beena beer drinker just haven't.
Don't really have the taste.
I'm sure there's some out therethrowing their empty can at the
radio right now.
I'm sorry, but first of all youshouldn't be doing that at 617.
Speaker 2 (10:24):
Don't judge.
Speaker 1 (10:25):
Well.
Speaker 2 (10:25):
Some people just
that's how they live.
Speaker 1 (10:28):
Okay.
Speaker 2 (10:29):
We're not here to
judge.
Okay, fine 5,000 years is howlong people have been making
beer.
Wow, and beer is the world'smost widely consumed alcoholic
beverage.
Speaker 1 (10:41):
There was a lot
consumed Saturday night in that
room there was.
Speaker 2 (10:45):
Here's the ranking of
the most popular bar drinks.
Number one beer, at almost half50%.
Wow, yep.
Number two margarita.
Speaker 1 (10:54):
I get it.
Speaker 2 (10:54):
And number three wine
.
Speaker 1 (10:57):
I get that.
I guess, Because margarita, ifyou go have a Mexican restaurant
, if you're going to ordersomething different, you go
usually for a margarita.
You usually do, yeah, you gowith the food.
Speaker 2 (11:05):
Yeah, here's a little
something extra.
Dolly Parton has teamed up withKhloe Kardashian and the Good
American Denim brand to launch alimited edition collection
called Dolly's Jolines.
Speaker 1 (11:19):
I love that.
That's cute.
Jolines Instead of jeans.
Jeans Leans Jolines Joe leansInstead of jeans leans Joe leans
.
That's cute, very smart.
Speaker 2 (11:25):
Rhinestones and denim
that Dolly says will make any
butt look good.
Speaker 1 (11:30):
I've seen some of the
examples and they're supposed
to make you look slimmer.
Speaker 2 (11:34):
Yeah.
Speaker 1 (11:34):
Way to go, Dolly.
Speaker 2 (11:35):
I think that's what
good American, what Khloe
Kardashian's jeans do.
Anyway, I think you're right.
I think they're meant to taperyou and to be flattering.
Speaker 1 (11:42):
Yeah.
Speaker 2 (11:42):
And so, dolly, adding
rhinestones is only fitting.
Speaker 1 (11:46):
That's a good idea.
Yeah, I think those will sellwell, yeah.
Speaker 2 (11:51):
And if you're late
for work this week, try this one
.
Yeah, I'm late because I had toshovel all the pollen off of
the driveway before I couldleave.
Speaker 1 (12:01):
Until the rain came
yesterday, pollen was probably
the worst I've ever seen.
That would have worked.
It was so thick on my car.
Speaker 2 (12:07):
And you know what
pollen is.
Speaker 1 (12:08):
I know what.
Speaker 2 (12:09):
It's what happens
when flowers can't keep it in
their plants.
Speaker 1 (12:16):
Can't keep it in
their plants.
That's good, it's 619.
And Holly On.
Speaker 3 (12:19):
Alabama's Country,
giant WQSB, I've been gone.
Speaker 1 (12:26):
Since you've been
gone, other things since you've
been gone, what's been going on?
Speaker 2 (12:29):
A new study indicates
that excessive screen time
among teenagers, especiallygirls, can lead to sleep
deprivation and a risk ofdeveloping depression.
Oh wow, I absolutely believethat Last week it was my week
without the girls and I scrolledmore than normal and I felt
(12:51):
super depressed, gotcha, superdepressed.
Speaker 1 (12:54):
Well, like you warned
me about TikTok, because when
it finds out certain videos youlike, like, there's the
beautiful boy.
I'll give you an example themovie.
There's a lot of TikTok videosbased around that.
That's one of the saddestmovies, but it's a movie that
hits home to me and when I watchthose I get so sad at night
when I'm laying there lookingthrough my TikTok.
(13:14):
Yeah, you can't do that I know Ishouldn't be doing it, I know,
but I believe this.
They're like sleep deprived.
Yeah, how much sleep did youget two weeks ago when Harlow
was in the house?
Speaker 2 (13:24):
Yeah, See, probably
about four hours total for the
week.
Speaker 1 (13:28):
Okay, so, yes,
teenage girls, and she's not
even a teenager yet.
Speaker 2 (13:31):
She's a preteen?
Yeah.
The research looked at kidsgirls 12 to 16, revealed that
prolonged screen time wasassociated with poor sleep
quality, delayed sleep schedulesand an increased likelihood.
Why are you laughing it?
Speaker 1 (13:47):
was late.
Till summer, when school's out,it's going to get worse.
Speaker 2 (13:49):
And an increased
likelihood of experiencing
depression symptoms, like I said, usually particularly in girls.
Speaker 1 (13:57):
That worries me, one
of the girls.
Adults can handle it better, but girls sometimes are confused
and don't know how to handle it.
Speaker 2 (14:02):
Better, but girls
sometimes are confused and don't
know how to handle it.
I think it's because girls arevery comparative to their bodies
, to their lifestyles, to theirpersonalities.
Speaker 1 (14:13):
I agree.
Speaker 2 (14:15):
They see popular
people like influencers on
TikTok or Instagram or Facebookand they feel like they don't
measure up.
I feel like they're more likelyto compare.
I do think that boys this ageprobably do too, especially with
sports awards and stuff likethat, but I think with girls
(14:36):
it's hard not to compare.
Speaker 1 (14:41):
Totally agree.
Yeah, I totally agree with that.
Speaker 2 (14:44):
And he's being called
one of the worst pollen seasons
in the US history.
Experts say that the seasonalallergy sufferers are facing a
pollen tsunami.
Speaker 1 (14:56):
Whoa A pollen tsunami
.
Yeah, wow, not just a regularone.
That's true On the AES.
I mean, at least you have awarning, Mm-hmm.
Speaker 2 (15:02):
That's leaving
millions battling, sneezing
headaches, watery eyes, stuff, sinuses like never before.
Record-breaking pollen countshave been reported in cities
like Atlanta and Houston, andprobably Albertville, indicating
that it's been a brutal year.
Climate change is making itworse, with warmer than usual
(15:23):
spring temperatures.
Speaker 1 (15:24):
Yep.
Speaker 2 (15:24):
And when pollen come
in earlier, in higher
concentrations.
Speaker 1 (15:28):
Look at last week.
We had record highs in theupper 80s, yeah, and there was
no rain until Saturday night, yeah, and I've never seen it
that thick on my vehicle, Idon't think on the ground.
And there were people at theSnead game on Saturday talking
about man, my head is killing me.
I've always had allergies, allergies, but never this bad
before.
Speaker 2 (15:47):
Yeah, you should see
my porch.
My porch is painted black andit's just a solid yellow.
Yeah, so there's footprints, like it would be in the snow,
like footprints in the pollen.
Speaker 1 (15:59):
It's wild.
Hopefully this rain will getrid of some of it for a day or
two.
Then it's going to come backagain probably tomorrow.
Speaker 2 (16:04):
Yeah, it's going to
come back.
Speaker 1 (16:06):
It is yeah.
Speaker 2 (16:07):
Where's it come from.
Speaker 1 (16:08):
Well, trees, flowers
blooming.
Speaker 2 (16:11):
I mean I know that,
but like, how is it everywhere?
Speaker 1 (16:14):
I don't know it's so
bad everywhere.
Speaker 2 (16:17):
Everywhere.
Speaker 1 (16:18):
I don't even have
trees in the yard where I live
and it's still all over my car.
Speaker 2 (16:21):
I don't have many
trees and my porch is covered.
I don't understand.
Speaker 1 (16:28):
They just fall from
the sky.
The pollen fairy, I guessbrings it in.
Speaker 2 (16:30):
Yeah, that's what it
is.
I guess it's a pollen fairy.
Speaker 1 (16:32):
We'll have to get a
gun out and chase down the
pollen fairy.
Speaker 2 (16:34):
Oh.
Speaker 1 (16:34):
Lord had enough 631.
Speaker 3 (16:37):
WQSB Mornings with
Barry and Holly.
Speaker 1 (16:40):
Have you ever
considered trying something like
this?
No, seriously, why Do?
Speaker 2 (16:43):
you think my nerves
could, knowing me, do you think
my nerves could handle that?
Speaker 1 (16:48):
No, no, because we
had before the award show
started Saturday night.
Speaker 2 (16:53):
Full panic attack.
Speaker 1 (16:54):
I stood outside the
bathroom and greeted people for
ten minutes.
People come out they thought Iworked there.
Seriously, there was three guyswalking in and saying where's
the WH&T's table?
Oh, I said, hold on and I'llfind out for you.
Speaker 2 (17:09):
Well, here's how it
happened.
So we were outside and it waswarm.
I don't know what it is.
I have this thing about heat.
I don't know what it is.
I panicked it was very humid.
It was very humid.
Speaker 1 (17:22):
Yeah.
Speaker 2 (17:22):
So we stood outside,
we took pictures, yeah, and when
we were starting to walk in, Istarted getting dizzy, mm-hmm,
and I was like whoa, thisdoesn't feel right.
Speaker 5 (17:31):
Yeah.
Speaker 2 (17:31):
And then I started
seeing stars and then my ears
started ringing, yeah.
And then you looked over at meand you said Holly, you're
sweating.
Speaker 1 (17:40):
You didn't look good
at all.
No, I could tell you were not.
You never fake it, but I couldtell this is a real panic attack
.
I never fake it.
So we walked over to a quietplace in the room.
Speaker 2 (17:49):
Yeah, a little corner
.
Speaker 1 (17:50):
And sat down and they
let you catch your breath.
Speaker 2 (17:52):
Yeah, and then we
walked to the bathroom and I'm
going to be honest with you, hadto.
Oh yeah, I took the whole thingoff.
Speaker 1 (18:05):
In the bathroom.
Sure, did you know?
They have cameras.
Speaker 2 (18:08):
No, they don't.
That's illegal.
Okay, but while you were outthere greeting people and
showing people to their tables,I was.
I was in there sweating andnobody knew I was just in there
like a jaybird.
Speaker 1 (18:21):
I had no idea, I did
Wow okay.
Speaker 2 (18:23):
I got a paper towel
and wet it down and was like
wiping my chest Was anybody elsein there?
Speaker 1 (18:29):
Yeah, they were fine
with that no one saw me.
Oh, I thought you were justwalking around in front of the
mirror.
No, I got the napkin Over bythe hand dryer.
Speaker 2 (18:37):
No, I got it before I
went into the stall.
I got it before I went into thestall.
Oh, okay, I shut the stall doorI was getting worried and then
just, have you ever been in thatsituation where you're like
I've got to take my, I've got tostrip down, yeah, yeah, like
panic or hot, or like what wasyour situation?
Speaker 1 (18:54):
Similar Like you just
don't feel good.
These are burning up, like whenyou're sick and you've got to
get in the bathtub or somethingbecause you're just burning up.
Speaker 2 (19:02):
Yeah yeah, that was
scary, but anyway, I was just
sitting there naked in front ofthousands of people and they
didn't even know it.
Speaker 1 (19:10):
Well, you were in the
bathroom, so clarify that.
Speaker 2 (19:12):
It's not like you
were standing in the hallway.
Speaker 1 (19:13):
Yeah, Because you
would have won an Abby for that.
Speaker 2 (19:16):
I guess, yeah, I
would have.
What kind of Abby would youdare to give me Best?
Speaker 1 (19:20):
naked radio announcer
, I guess I don't know.
But then the most embarrassingprofessional moment happened at
the Abbey's.
That was so embarrassing itshouldn't have been.
It was.
You need to see the videobecause everybody I guess you
don't touch the microphone.
We'd already won a couple.
(19:40):
I went up there and I wasyou're talking and we won for
best, best morning show do youthink they tilted it down a
little bit for my hot?
I don't know, because it wastilted down.
So when I walked up and therewas a very serious moment,
serious speech, so I grabbed themicrophone, you can see it, and
I was going to turn it up justa little bit towards my face.
And when I when I grabbed themicrophone and I grabbed the
microphone holder at the sametime, and jumped out it squirted
(20:03):
out of the microphone holder, out of my hand, because the
other hand I had the abby awardand I couldn't grab it.
And it shot out in front of me,close to almost hit the table
in front of us and bounce aboutthree times and that's like the
most embarrassing moment becauseI I didn't have a microphone
and everybody went and you canlook.
I look over at sh, at Sharon,at DMC, and she looked at me
(20:24):
like I don't want to have ananswer on this one.
Go get it.
Speaker 2 (20:27):
Well, and then Ariel
Wilswap said that one of the
other on the other side.
Speaker 1 (20:33):
we're bringing you
the microphone from that side,
but the photographer Jumped upand grabbed it and walked over
and handed it to me real quickand I appreciated that because I
was about to have to go downthe stage and get it.
That was so embarrassing.
So somebody said why didn't youwait and drop the mic after
your speech?
So I did the reverse drop themic moment.
I dropped it before my speech.
Speaker 2 (20:52):
You knew it was going
to be so good you just went
ahead and dropped it.
Speaker 1 (20:55):
That was so
embarrassing.
Speaker 2 (20:56):
What if we did that?
What if we would have walkedout and said Thanks for the
Abbey boom?
Speaker 1 (21:01):
Boom and then, oh, we
need to make a speech, let's go
ahead and get it.
I don't know, but if you wantto see the videos of our Abbey
Awards which we had.
It was a special night andwe'll talk more about what
happened in a few minutes, butwe were lucky enough and blessed
enough to win four awards, including Best Morning Show, and
it could have been sweeter.
Speaker 3 (21:25):
And we'll talk about
that coming up.
But first it's news weathermore is coming up.
Mornings with Barry and Hollyhere on Alabama's country giant
WQSB In the meantime, a lot ofstuff going on.
Speaker 1 (21:31):
How about a Minecraft
movie?
Talking to our staff movieexpert Stone last night, who
works at Premier Cinemas, hesaid every single show in the
head sold out.
Speaker 2 (21:43):
Let me tell you
something yeah my daughter went
with her dad, yeah, friday night.
He said that's the most funthat he he's in his 40s yeah
he's ever had in a long time.
He said all the kids were justscreaming and yelling and
clapping and loving it, havingthe best time ever.
And there is a famous childYouTuber that died in real life.
(22:11):
No, that was a famous Minecraftplayer that live streamed and
they honored him in the movieand whatever his name was I
don't remember his username, butit says so-and-so never dies.
That's so sweet.
Speaker 1 (22:24):
Whatever his name was
, I don't remember his username
but it says so-and-so never dies.
Well, someone said it was soweird because there are certain
parts when favorite parts of thekids they will all clap and
cheer yeah, and they know whenit happens.
And they said this is crazy, yeah, that they're so involved
in the movie.
I know, and I noticed lookingout the window at Lucas
yesterday parking lot full.
Speaker 2 (22:41):
When we drove by for
the Abbeys it was packed, Not a
spot open.
Speaker 1 (22:46):
So between that and
the Chosen is what I'm
understanding.
Those two movies are packing inthe theater.
Speaker 2 (22:51):
Yeah, so a Minecraft
movie earned $157 million during
the opening weekend.
It's the best opening of theyear so far and the best opening
for a video game adaption ever.
Wow, yeah, and then A Workingman, I don't know.
Speaker 1 (23:08):
Jason Statham, that
was number one last week.
Oh, yeah, yeah, yeah.
Speaker 2 (23:11):
Earned $7.2 million,
and then the Chosen Last Supper,
part 2, brought in $6.7 million.
Speaker 1 (23:17):
People have seen that
are so emotional, saying it's
dealing with the Last Supper asthey get closer and closer to
the Rapture.
Yeah, and so they say that thisone is so well done and it's so
beautifully done part one andtwo and they'll be on TV on the
Chosen coming up in just a fewdays.
Oh Well, they show it in thetheater so you can see it on the
big screen first.
(23:38):
Oh okay, Then they'll bring itto TV.
So everybody who likes tostream the Chosen all the
seasons.
Speaker 2 (23:43):
Is it free?
Speaker 1 (23:44):
Yeah, on streaming it
is.
Oh okay, chosen has a free appyou can download.
That's good yeah.
Speaker 2 (23:50):
I'm really sad about
this.
Yeah, elton John says that hisvision loss is getting worse.
He says I can see you, but Ican't see TV.
I can't read, I can't even seemy boys playing rugby and soccer
.
Speaker 1 (24:10):
He's able to do
concerts because he can still
sit at the piano and do that, but he's had to cancel and
rearrange some of his tourschedule.
Speaker 2 (24:13):
I know I've seen
Elton John live.
Ooh, that would be good.
I can show you some videos Iwas like third row back.
Speaker 1 (24:20):
Wow, yeah, love his
music.
Yeah, love his music.
Yeah, he's got so many goodsongs.
Speaker 2 (24:24):
I loved it.
He puts on a show like he's inhis 20s.
Wow yeah, it was so good, yeah.
Actor and former child star JayNorth, best known for his
starring role in Dennis theMenace.
Speaker 1 (24:37):
He was Dennis, the
Menace, the little boy.
You remember the picture, yeah.
Speaker 2 (24:42):
He's died.
Speaker 1 (24:43):
He passed away this
weekend, yeah.
Speaker 2 (24:44):
He died.
He was 73.
Speaker 1 (24:47):
He was so good as
Dennis the Minister.
Speaker 2 (24:49):
Oh yeah, not the one
that I'm thinking of.
Speaker 1 (24:51):
I bet it is.
The little boy with blonde hair.
Yeah, they had some in themovies and they had him in the
TV show.
There's been different Dennis'sbut the one in the TV show,
that one, jay North, has passedaway at 73.
Oh my gosh.
Yeah, he had had a battle withcancer.
Speaker 2 (25:06):
Yeah, Well, it said
he passed peacefully.
Speaker 1 (25:08):
Yeah, I don't know if
I ever believe that.
What Peacefully?
Yeah, I don't know.
How do you just I know, I know.
Speaker 2 (25:16):
I don't think you can
.
No, anyway, president Trump,I'm not going to go that dark on
a Monday.
President Trump on Friday saidthat he would sign another
executive order to delay the lawthat effectively bans TikTok.
I mean, it talks about apossible buyout.
The order will postponeenforcement of the TikTok sell
(25:37):
or ban law for 75 days.
Speaker 1 (25:39):
So at least 75 more
days.
So they try to fix this.
I don't think we're going toget rid of TikTok, but they
enjoy to get it fixed and quithaving these.
Speaker 2 (25:47):
I know Quit doing
this.
Speaker 1 (25:48):
Telling us it's going
to end this weekend.
Speaker 2 (25:49):
There's a lot of
small businesses and influencers
that use this for income.
Speaker 1 (25:54):
That's their job.
Speaker 2 (25:54):
They need to quit
being jerked around Are we going
to have it or not.
Speaker 1 (25:58):
Yeah, make a decision
.
All right.
Birthdays are next barry andholly on alabama's country giant
wqsb, and again saturday night.
We had a big night for theradio stations.
All three of us uh, two out ofthe three won abby awards.
So congrats again to power 1075winning at abby uh best uh
(26:18):
sports talk show wqsp.
Lucky enough to win three.
Uh, just a huge honor saturdaynight.
And it was so good to havestaff there hanging out together
.
We got a couple of them.
I mean, they were part of theshow over the past 12 months,
for sure so the morning show.
We were lucky enough and blessedenough to win uh best morning
show in the state and I wascompletely shocked yeah, I
(26:39):
really was I was too.
Speaker 5 (26:40):
I know I wasn't so
sure because you guys this it
last year.
Speaker 1 (26:43):
This is Rachel, by
the way, and Rachel was part of
the show over the past year, part of the station for many
years, and you looked nice.
Saturday night Everybodydressed up nice.
I thought yeah we did.
It's weird because we didn'tplan this, but we almost all
wore black.
Yeah, we all wore black.
Except for Drew Drew he.
He's blue, he's true, yeah, butwe're doing our black outfit in
case we had to do the morningshow M-O-U-R-N-I-N-G, in case we
(27:05):
didn't win, we were going toall be dressed In the morning,
yeah.
So the Abbey Awards.
It was a nice night for theradio stations and I'm so happy
for the Curringtons.
They couldn't be there, I thinkit's an honor to win something
for them, for their radiostations.
Speaker 5 (27:22):
Absolutely.
Speaker 1 (27:23):
So we won four on a
Saturday night.
So what are your thoughts onthe night?
It was a big night, wasn't it?
Speaker 5 (27:27):
It was a big night.
I thought it was a well-put-onevent, yeah, and I think we all
enjoyed ourselves, had a goodtime and I'm just thrilled about
the Abby's we won.
Speaker 1 (27:40):
I'm too yeah, oh, you
may get a bill for a microphone
.
Speaker 5 (27:45):
Oh yeah, the mic
dropped.
I totally forgot about the micdrop.
Will said boo yeah.
Speaker 1 (27:51):
The most embarrassing
part of my career, and you're
behind me fist bumping.
I was going, yeah, and then Ihear Will booing me out in the
crowd.
I was like mic drop.
If you haven't seen the video.
The video of us winning theaward is on our Facebook page.
It was an emotional moment andyou did a fantastic speech that
I walked over and I was going toadjust the microphone and move
(28:13):
it up.
I wonder why nobody hadn'ttouched it all night.
Now I know why, Because when Ibarely moved it I squeezed it it
fell and it shot out of my hand.
And it hit the ground.
But we were talking on the wayhome and, I'll be honest,
something told me that that wasmeant to happen, and here's why,
as we were walking up, theywere playing our music, a part
of our show, and when it stopped, I could still hear people
(28:34):
talking.
Which things like this.
They don't pay attentionsometimes, they're just kind of
doing their own thing.
Speaker 2 (28:38):
They're serving
dinner.
Speaker 1 (28:39):
They're doing things.
So they're doing things.
So you gave your part of thespeech, which was fantastic.
When I dropped the mic it'slike when the mic hit I heard
some and then, after they pickedit up, the room was completely
quiet.
It was you could hear amicrophone drop.
You really could and theneverybody turned around and
looked it's like it almost wasmeant to grab their attention so
(29:01):
they could hear something thatI was going to say.
Speaker 2 (29:03):
Yeah, Because last
year, when which?
Speaker 1 (29:05):
really is what I
don't happen.
It's almost meant to be.
Speaker 2 (29:08):
Last year, when we
won the Abbeys, you didn't want
to speak.
No, you didn't say anything.
Speaker 5 (29:11):
No.
Speaker 2 (29:12):
I just walked up and
said thank you.
Thank you, ms Currington and MrCurrington.
Speaker 1 (29:28):
And thank you ABA
with aba.
But this year we said, okay,we're both gonna speak and talk
about yours well, yours, well, let's bring will into here too.
We were talking on the way homeand, uh, what you said was so
nice and I appreciate that youuh commented what.
Tell them basically what yousaid, or will can if you don't
feel comfortable in talkingabout it, but it was very nice.
Speaker 4 (29:44):
But when you went up
first, well, uh, holly had just
mentioned how, um, you know howthis year has has been tough, uh
, and also that, uh, you make iteasier for her each and every
day, and I think you make iteasier for all of us.
Uh, each and every day, um, andI think you make it easier for
all of us each and every day.
I also think our dress attirerepresented kind of the year.
(30:09):
We were all black and blue.
You know this year's been tough, but you know, and what you said
, barry, I think resonated witheverybody.
I mean, when you have yourpeers and broadcasters
throughout the state give you astanding ovation for what you
(30:29):
said, that speaks volumes.
And the fact that you knowy'all two have won a
back-to-back award and that'svery uncommon unless you're the
radio station down in Auburn, apparently, that's true, but the
fact that y'all won an award, that's rarely done back-to-back,
(30:50):
and I think too, barry, withyour situation three years ago,
it still resonates today becauseit still affects people every
day.
And the fact that both of y'allare affecting lives daily, not
here just at the station, butout there across the airwaves.
I mean, we're covering nearlyone million people in the state
(31:15):
and they love to hear y'allevery morning.
They love seeing y'all out inthe community.
So I think this award is verydeserving.
Speaker 1 (31:24):
Deserving, I
appreciate that, because it was
very emotional and what holly'sgone through over the past year.
We don't give a lot of detailsand we're not going to and that
I've been through over the pastthree years, but mainly three
years ago.
But for the past year, forholly, didn't it a lot to me to
win, because holly has beenthrough so much and you still
come in here every morning andyou leave your troubles at the
(31:47):
door, like we've talked aboutfrom day one, because we people
sometimes don't most times don'twant to hear sad things yeah
occasionally we do talk aboutthe emotional things, but for
the most part they want you tocheer them up, and that's what I
want.
When I hear a morning show, yeah, make me smile, make me laugh.
But you've done that.
You've walked in, even thoughyou're not before.
Might have been the mosthorrible night ever, you put it
(32:07):
to the side, came in and youentertain the, the listeners
yeah every day yeah, I pulled itup.
Speaker 2 (32:14):
I'm.
I want to play the clip of yourspeech.
I'm going to go ahead and playthat sorry about that.
Speaker 1 (32:22):
I want to try to get
through this real quick.
But, uh, I never thought I'd behere wanting to work at a
morning show.
Three years ago I was gettingready to leave the house to do
the morning show and I found myson lying on the floor and he
died of an accidental fentanyloverdose.
And at that time I thought Icould never do radio, or
(32:42):
especially a morning show.
But we were never promised notto have bad days or bad times
here on earth.
By God.
God never promises that.
He promises he would be besideus and he would help us through
all of our bad days.
So weeks later I decided Iwanted to try again.
So I went back to work and, thanks to God, he lifted me up
and gave me a chance to go backand do what I love and that's
(33:05):
make people smile.
And for Holly, my best co-hostever, I said I want to go back
and do this and to win this.
Speaker 2 (33:11):
After what happened
three years ago.
I just don't give up.
No matter what happens, godwill be with me.
And then you got the onlystanding ovation of the night.
I know of the night.
I know, I know I have chills.
I know we talk about reed a lotand I think I don't think I had
(33:31):
anything to do with reeds andbarry's healing, but I don't
think that barry really spokeabout reed a lot before.
No, we the show together.
I think that I showed Barryit's okay to talk about what
(33:52):
happened and to honor him and Ithink that through our private
conversations outside of theradio, um, you know we've talked
about him a lot and barry knowsthat he's meant to honor his
son and I think that that wassuch a such a good way that you
(34:15):
did on saturday night well, itwas very emotional yeah and will
.
Speaker 1 (34:21):
When we left the
stage uh, we had our picture
we're supposed to.
Then I went to the bathroom.
Speaker 2 (34:26):
When I come out, will
was standing there and that
meant a lot well, I thought Isat down and I said barry went
to the bathroom, he's emotionaland will just immediately stood
up and didn't say anything toanybody, just stood up and went
to and found you and I thinkthat you know the people that
were there that night at theaward show are people that
(34:50):
really support us and love usand care about us and I'm
thankful that the people thatcame with us were there I agree
it was a good night it was.
Speaker 1 (35:04):
You couldn't have
picked a better table full of
people no, you couldn't becausethey were all there for the
right reason yeah, they were tosupport the company.
Yeah, and it meant a lot to winsomething, to win four for the
company yeah, it did and youknow this job is hard.
Speaker 2 (35:18):
I know that, um, you
guys working out there
construction and you guysworking out there in factories
and plants I know you've got ithard being a single mom having
to do it all.
It's like in that moment all ofthat melted away and it was
(35:54):
worth it.
It's worth it because I thinkwe can help people change.
We can change people's lives.
They tell us we set the tonefor their morning or we make
them smile when they've had abad day or a bad week, or that.
Speaker 1 (36:11):
Those are the
comments that mean everything to
us when we're out and peoplesay you impact my life well, me
and rachel and we'll have talkedabout this before you don't
give yourself enough credit whatyou've been through the past
year.
That's why winning it this yearmeant more to me than awards.
I've been lucky enough to win acouple in my career, but this
(36:33):
one meant it was special Becauseyou had a horrible year.
Speaker 2 (36:39):
I really did.
Speaker 1 (36:40):
And to put aside what
you're going through and come
in and do what you do.
That's why this award means themost to me.
Speaker 5 (36:46):
Yeah, it really does.
Speaker 2 (36:47):
Because you deserve
it.
Health scares and issues.
I've had surgeries.
I've had the hardest thing youcould ever imagine happen with
your children, other than death.
Yeah, it felt like a death.
Speaker 1 (37:05):
But you still came in
every single day and Rachel's
talked about it and Will'stalked about it.
If you're listening you cantell.
And that's a professional andthey honored you Saturday night
and you deserved it.
Speaker 2 (37:18):
They honored us.
Speaker 5 (37:19):
Yeah, it's you, and
me, it's you they honored us.
Speaker 2 (37:22):
Yeah, it's you and me
.
It's you and me, barry.
Speaker 1 (37:25):
Yeah, Well, I'm glad
we won the award and it's an
honor to win it for the company.
Yeah, Because at Currenton youcouldn't work for any better
people.
Speaker 5 (37:32):
That's right.
Speaker 1 (37:33):
Yeah, and I'm glad
you were there, rachel.
I'm glad Will was there.
It didn't mean a lot to us tohave y'all there, wouldn't have
missed it.
It was fun, it was.
It was a lot of fun.
If you want to watch the videoof the, the famous, mic drop.
Speaker 2 (37:48):
That's still the most
embarrassing thing I've ever
done.
Speaker 1 (37:49):
Yeah, that was great,
yeah I'm gonna kick my own butt
.
I said what?
Oh my god, yeah, I just wishyou could?
Speaker 2 (37:53):
I wish you could have
seen me fist bumping?
Yeah, I did, because I was likeyeah you dropped the mic.
Speaker 1 (37:57):
Yeah, and will booed
me Mic drop.
Thank you so much, and you canhear it.
Speaker 2 (38:00):
You can hear it on
the video.
Speaker 1 (38:02):
He goes boo, it was
perfect, the whole thing was
perfect.
I wouldn't change a thing.
I wouldn't either.
Yeah, no, all right.
Thanks Rachel, thanks Will,it's 7.58.
Speaker 3 (38:11):
WQSB.
Speaker 1 (38:12):
Morning.
A record-breaking year forpollen.
For many reasons it's beenwarmer than usual this time of
year, extremely warmer, and Ibelieve it.
Saturday we were at Snead andthose vehicles were covered.
It was just awful.
Speaker 4 (38:32):
One thing, and I
talked to Ariel yesterday about
it If you notice some of thesedogwoods and these azaleas and
everything, the blooms on themare more full, they're more
brighter and all those bushesare more full.
Speaker 1 (38:42):
So I guess the pollen
would contribute to that, and
some of the experts say that thewinds have been so strong
lately.
If you notice, we've had20-mile-an-hour winds about
every day.
It's blowing in pollen fromother areas, other parts of the
states.
That's crazy.
We're getting their pollen.
Speaker 5 (38:57):
Yeah.
Speaker 1 (38:57):
And we were talking.
It was a big weekend, anemotional weekend, had a great
time Saturday and Saturday nightand we were talking.
That was very emotional for youWill yeah, so you're on air in
our prayers this weekend and Iknow yesterday was a hard day
for you and your family.
Speaker 4 (39:12):
Yeah, it was.
You know, a year ago for thoseof y'all listening I lost my
daughter, shockingly lost mydaughter, shockingly lost my
daughter.
And yesterday, of course, wedid some reminiscing on the good
memories and all that.
But at the same time we had acelebration because her body is
(39:36):
healed and she's not having toface those daily challenges.
And for y'all, those dailychallenges for the past year
have been difficult.
It's been difficult on a lot ofus, but surrounding yourselves
with people like yourselves, itjust makes the days very easy or
able to manage them better, Iwould say.
(39:58):
And like I said yesterday, itwas emotional but at the same
time it was a celebrationbecause we were fortunate to
make it as long as we did withher and we appreciate that.
And God giving us the strengthto make it through it definitely
shows his power and how hisdaily works in us help.
(40:23):
And you know, holly, I know, with your situation going from
being in, you know the world'scoming to an end, but now look
at the rewards and awards.
You're reaping the benefits.
Everything's going into yourfavor, staying in his way,
staying faithful to him and trueto him, and he's blessing you.
(40:43):
I mean he through that, throughthat tough season.
He's blessing you andeverything that you can possibly
do and same time with you, barry, yeah, giving you the
strength you know you weretalking about the mic drop that
could have calmed you to be ableto get through it.
You know like give you thatlittle that you probably
wouldn't have said or been ableto get through it.
You know like give you thatlittle that you probably
wouldn't have said or been ableto get through.
(41:03):
I think it really did and andthat set the tone.
But you know, seeing everythingin hindsight, you're like god,
thank you, thank you foreverything that you did, and
especially with with cameron.
Unfortunately, on the worldlystage I've fostered, but the but
the eternal stage she healedand I can't wait to see her.
And thank y'all for doing whaty'all do.
Speaker 1 (41:25):
It's easy to say that
Some people say, like Reap has,
well, he's in a better placenow.
It's easy for somebody to say, when they haven't lost that
person, right, that is true, that part is true.
But the fact that they're nothere, that's it's a daily.
It's a daily struggle.
That's why I know you had atough time, because we've talked
and there are dates that'sgoing to hit you and bring up
(41:45):
memories anniversaries, the dayof her birthday, the day that
she passed, the day that you didthis, the day that there's
certain dates that you can'texplain it, grief.
You can't get past it.
You just got to somehow dealwith it.
Speaker 4 (41:58):
It's so hard, it is,
and it's a daily struggle you
somehow deal with it and it's sohard it is and it's a daily
struggle.
You know if it's a smell or ifit's a TV show or if it's a
sound, and it's like youimmediately go back and then you
start, your mind gets racing tothat day and you're like you
know what could I have donedifferent or what more I could
have done, but it is.
(42:21):
It's a daily struggle to getthrough and I know there's a lot
of people out there that canunderstand and relate to that
and I think that's how youresonate with people and, holly,
I know that's how you resonatewith people.
And you know, in all things youjust got to give glory to God
because you know he allows usand sets up a platform.
(42:43):
Barry, saturday, you had aplatform, yeah, and you
acknowledged God and told Godthrough your experience, like
you're going to have the harddays, but he's going to be with
you through it all.
And he continues to do that.
And the same thing with you, holly, and anybody listening out
there.
God's given you the opportunityeach and every day to choose
him.
So do it, especially in thisworld, because I do.
(43:06):
I want to.
I have my tough days, you know.
I ask my questions why, why, why, absolutely?
But there's so much peace inwhat he has planned for us.
We may not know it today, wemay not know it tomorrow, but he
has planned for us.
We may not know it today, wemay not know it tomorrow, but he
, he has a greater plan for usand we got to choose him.
Speaker 1 (43:24):
And you're going to
have those struggles and barry,
you and I've had thoseconversations I was thinking on
the way into work this morningthat, uh, honestly, what I said
saturday night, there's more Iwanted to say, but it was hard
enough to get through that partof it.
But I would not have been ableto come back to work had God not
been there.
He gave me the strength becauseI was done.
(43:46):
I even told Mrs Kerrington whenwe talked.
I said I can't do this anymore.
But over time I think God gaveme the strength to come back.
We wouldn't have won that awardSaturday night without God's
help.
Yeah, yeah.
Speaker 4 (44:05):
And he gives you the
strength every day, yeah, and he
puts people in your lives.
He's put y'all in my life forthat season that I've been
through.
Hopefully I would hope that heput me in y'all's life through
y'all's seasons that y'all havebeen through.
Hopefully I would hope that heput me in y'all's life through
y'all's seasons that y'all havebeen through.
But it's all like I said, inhindsight it's like a reality
(44:30):
that you're like, oh, now I seewhy you've done that, because
now you can get through anything, holly Perry.
You can get through what you'vebeen through Because you're
strong and like your speechsaturday, it didn't have to be a
long five ten minute speech.
Your minute was probably.
Your speech was probably lessthan a minute, but it resonated
(44:52):
with everybody and everybodyagreed and that was the platform
that he gave you and youanswered your call, holly.
You answer your call at threeo'clock in the morning to get
here and come in and do what youdo, despite of what all you're
going through.
Y'all are answering the calland honoring him and and that's
that's.
All we can do is just answerour call and honor him and
(45:14):
acknowledge him for the greatthings that he's put into our
lives, because I wasn't surewhat I was saying, if anybody
was even listening.
Speaker 1 (45:22):
But at the very, very
end, when they showed up, I
just said, yeah, I should havedone this.
Yeah, it was meant to be, yeah.
Speaker 4 (45:33):
And for me yesterday
was really difficult, really
difficult, and I know noteverybody understands, but the
people that have been through itthat have understand.
I got probably three textmessages yesterday out of all
the people that I know, all thepeople that pray for us and help
(45:55):
us.
I got three text messages.
One of them was from you, barry, because you know and I know
it's difficult to understandthat you know what somebody goes
through like that.
It's hard to say something ordo something, but just pray.
You don't have to necessarilytell somebody something, just
pray.
And those people like you Barrythat message me, that
(46:19):
understand, that just adds to itthat you know there are people
out there that do care and dounderstand what you're going
through and I appreciate you somuch I can't even begin to
describe how much I appreciatey'all.
Speaker 1 (46:32):
Well, I knew you
needed to hear something because
I told you, sometimes peopledon't know what to say, right,
sometimes you don't even knowyou're even close to saying the
right thing, but just saysomething.
Yeah, sometimes sayingsomething and showing up for
somebody means more thananything.
That you say yeah, just show upfor them.
Yeah, just be there forsomebody, and whether it's a
word or pat on the back or a hug, that means everything yeah,
(46:55):
and, and you know you say inthat after your speech go into
the bathroom and just be inthere.
I walked out and you were there.
Yeah, that meant everything tome, because Holly, we hugged on
stage, because she was there theminute I finished talking, and
that meant more to me than I canever tell you.
That was about the lowest partof my I've been in a while, but
(47:18):
you walked over and lifted me upbecause you cared and that
matters, and we care about you.
That's why this award is yours.
I know we did it together, butthat's for you.
You had a terrible year andthat shows you you did not go
through the year in vain.
Speaker 4 (47:33):
You did it to help
people and you did, and God gave
you the strength, no matter thedoubts that you may have had or
the uncertainty that you mayhave had.
He did it and he gave it to youand gave you the strength to
get through it.
Speaker 1 (47:49):
Yeah, yeah, thank you
.
Speaker 4 (47:58):
What a Monday it's an
emotional day.
Speaker 1 (48:01):
but it's an emotional
day, but it's a good day,
because just know that, nomatter at your lowest point, if
you think you cannot get throughit, don't give up.
You just keep believing in Godand he will get you through it.
Amen to that.
It's tough, I mean.
Some days are like yesterdaywas an anniversary.
It's probably the hardest dayand it's hard to explain to
people who haven't been throughit, but it really sucks.
Speaker 4 (48:23):
Well.
And yesterday, the weather, youknow, it's like God's crying
with us.
Yeah, you know, even though itwas raining and wet and I know
there's a lot of stuff going on,it's really kind of fitting for
the scenario and situation that, hey, you know, heaven's
(48:44):
morning along with us, but atthe same time there's
celebration in heaven and that'swhat we pray for to get to.
Speaker 2 (48:48):
Yeah, we're going to
bury you in some track pants and
some laced up shoes, because weknow you're going to be running
as soon as you hit those gates.
Yeah, yeah, yeah, at leastthat's what.
I'm trying to live running assoon as you hit those gates.
Speaker 4 (49:01):
Yeah, at least that's
what I'm trying to live for and
pray for.
Speaker 1 (49:05):
We do a great job and
you're part of this show too.
You're part of that award too.
We're sitting over therebecause you come in every day
and some days you don't want tobe in here either, I'm sure like
probably today it was not yourbest day.
I'm sure you'd rather be homejust getting over yesterday, but
you still put on your shoes andcome on in.
Speaker 4 (49:23):
Yeah, well, and I see
y'all's success, I see y'all's
potential, I see this radiostation's effectiveness and
potential and you know, y'alljust make it easier coming in
here each and every day.
So thank y'all, and same thingfor the listeners.
You know, in here each andevery day, so thank y'all, and
same thing for the listeners.
(49:43):
You know, yeah, um, even thoughI just come on for my short
little you know 10 minute spiel, you hear so many people saying
hey, I heard you, and then theyhear y'all and what we've talked
about.
So I mean better, yeah, absolutely, you make a
difference you encourage people.
Speaker 1 (49:55):
No, you do you
encourage people yeah I'm
looking at the comments nowpeople watching on facebook live
and people.
We do this job for one reasonto make people smile.
Yeah, and if we can.
I know this may be more of adowner today, but we're just
trying to.
If you're going throughanything, the main part of this
little break is don't give up.
Yeah, it's going to be hard toget through and you you're not
going to feel good for a whileif something happens, but
(50:17):
eventually that's today.
Speaker 4 (50:19):
The sun may not come
up outside, but it will tomorrow
, yeah, and you know those thatare listening out there send a
message to somebody, like youdid yesterday, barry, just a
word of encouragement, or just Ilove you, or you know to me
that just reaching out and beingthere and showing up speaks so
much, and I just, you know, givea call to action to everybody
(50:42):
out there, just, even if it's asevered relationship or, you
know, a relationship that's onthe rocks.
Or just just send a message andtell somebody, hey, I'm
thinking about you today andthat I love you.
And if you don't feelcomfortable sending sending them
something, pray for them, yeah, because we all could use them.
I know for sure I could usethem every single day.
Speaker 1 (51:04):
Yeah, I agree.
My main thought one last thingSaturday night here's the way I
look at it is show up for peoplethat you care about, because
God shows up for you every day.
If you care about somebody, show up for them and be there
for them For sure, in some waylet them know.
Yeah.
Speaker 3 (51:21):
So thank them know.
Yeah, so thank you will.
We appreciate you.
Thank you all right, it's 8, 24mornings with barry and hall
here on alabama's country, giantwqsb.
