Welcome to this bonus episode of Wrestling Discussions. I'm your host,
Ashley Janey, and I just want to thank God for
another year and blessing me to do another bonus episode
and Happy New Year's to everyone, and thank you all
for tuning in. And I hope twenty twenty five is
going well for you all so far and that you
will be able to achieve all of your goals this year.

(01:02):
And today's episode is gonna be about my thoughts about
Monday Nightral moving over to Netflix, SmackDown going to three hours,
and my thoughts about the matches that's gonna take place
on Monday Nightraw on Netflix.

Speaker 3 (01:16):
So let's get into it.

Speaker 2 (01:19):
So I'm sure you all are aware about Monday Night
Ral moving over to Netflix on January sixth, and that
SmackDown is gonna still stay on the USA Network and
will increased to three hours, which is cool by the way.
And I must say that Triple H made a very
great business decision to move all over to Netflix because
everyone is now used a streaming platforms to watch all

(01:42):
of their shows, so it definitely made sense to move it.
And the good thing about it is you can go
back to the episodes if you missed it, just like
it is on.

Speaker 3 (01:52):
The Peacock app So it was definitely a good move.

Speaker 2 (01:56):
You know.

Speaker 3 (01:56):
I just have to remind.

Speaker 2 (01:58):
Myself to reactivate my Netflix account before the six so
I can still tune in to the action.

Speaker 3 (02:04):
And I'm also looking forward to the.

Speaker 2 (02:06):
Mattress that's going to take place, like the match between
Ria Ripley and Live Morgan for the Women's Championship, Solo
Socoa and Roman reigns, and the match between City and
Punk and Seth Rollins and what a way to kick
off the new year. And I believe that John Cena
will make an appearance with this year being his last

(02:26):
year to compete, and Travis Scott will be performing, so
that should be good to see. So I'm definitely excited
about it. You know, this is also close to the
road to WrestleMania, which makes it even more exciting. And
the match I'm looking forward to seeing is the match
between Solo and Roman because this is pretty much blood

(02:47):
versus blood, and I want to see Roman recapture his
status as being the actual travel chief in regaining his
Ula Follah, which he earned a few years ago because
in Solo's Man he earned the ula follow after Roman
lost that Mania and when he was out of the
spotlight for some time. And Solo also feels he is

(03:09):
now the tribal chief since he has the Ula follow
and added more relatives to his blood line.

Speaker 3 (03:15):
But we all know who.

Speaker 2 (03:16):
The OTC is then his name is Roman Rains, So
I think that Roman will be Solo. If there is
no interference from the blood line, he should do it
with flying colors. But if there is interference, hopefully he
gets back up from jay O'sammy. And I also think
it's going to be a good match between Solo because

(03:38):
Solo is definitely a great competitor in the ring. He's
definitely come a long way in his career, and of
course Roman has a lot of fight left in him
and Roman has studied Solo long enough to know what
he's capable of and same thing with Solo. He studied
Roman enough to know his capabilities, so it should definitely

(03:58):
be a great match, and I I hope the Rock
makes a surprise appearance to let it be known that
he's back and he's gonna wrestle someone a Mania.

Speaker 3 (04:07):
And the match between Ria and Live may.

Speaker 2 (04:10):
Be an upset, and it's because I think Live is
gonna retain dude to interference because that's what happened at
SummerSlam when they went against one another, and it was
because of Dominic and that bad blood when Roqul returned.
So in my opinion, I think liv is gonna win
because of interference because we all know that Ria can
be lived because she's done it before in the past.

(04:33):
But if Judgment Day happens to interfere, that's gonna be
a challenge because that's gonna make it hard for Ria
to handle her business. So I hope that's not the
case because I would personally love to see Ria regain
the title, So we just have to find out and see.
And also Jay Ulso and Drew Mcatire we'll be on
the match card as well, which is a good move

(04:55):
to allow Ja to get some payback on Drew for
attacking him a few weeks ago on and attacking Jimmy
and Sammy. So I'm glad this match is gonna take place,
and I believe Jay should be able to beat Drew
because Jay.

Speaker 3 (05:08):
Is a top contender on Raw and the former IC champion.

Speaker 2 (05:12):
But I do understand that Drew is a former WWE champion,
But I still say that Jay has a chance and
he's gonna take advantage of it.

Speaker 3 (05:22):
And the match may end by d h That.

Speaker 2 (05:25):
Could possibly happen with Drew doing something to j illegally
or vice versa, so we should see. But I believe
it's gonna be a good match, and the match between
Punk and Rollins is gonna be an extensive match because
you have two people that despise one another and that
and also have some personal issues as well. And I

(05:45):
do believe it's gonna be an all loud brawl and
they're gonna tear the house down. But I don't believe
that we'll be a winner in this match, and it's
because they may beat one another so bad that the
ref may have to stop the match, or they they
may do a move on each other that will knock
both of them out, like, for instance, both of them
crashing through a table or crashing each other through the

(06:08):
roof of a hood of a car, So something like
that could definitely happen, and of course, but I do
know for a fact there's gonna be a lot of blood, sweat.

Speaker 3 (06:17):
And tears shed in the match.

Speaker 2 (06:19):
But I'm definitely looking forward to it because both of
them are very good in the ring and they know
what it takes to get the job done.

Speaker 3 (06:27):
So I really can't wait until this match.

Speaker 2 (06:29):
After everything they said to each other on Raw this
past Monday, you could tell it's going to be a.

Speaker 3 (06:34):
War between those two.

Speaker 2 (06:36):
And now with SmackDown standing on USA and increase into
three hours was also a great move, and it's because
it's gonna give more superstars more time to shine in
the ring or backstage during the interview, which is gonna
be a lot and then.

Speaker 3 (06:51):
It's also going to be a lot more matches, which.

Speaker 2 (06:53):
Is gonna be cool because I really want to see
the Street Profits get back on top, becoming number one
contenders for the tag team titles and eventually winning the
titles from Dy So I want to see what's gonna
happen with Tiffany Stratton and Naya Jacks since Nya it's
more cool with Candice Loarray now, I want to see

(07:15):
when Tiffany finally puts her foot down and challenges Candace
for stepping in her partnership with her and NYA. And
I want to see Tiffany stand her ground against NYA,
letting her know that I real cash in this briefcase.
And I also want to see be fav Russell Moore
since she did do well in that Women's US title tournament,

(07:36):
so I would definitely love to see her in the
ring more. And I also smell a breakup between Chelsea
Green and Piper Niven because we all know if it
wasn't for Piper, then Chelsea would not be the champion. Instead,
Meetschin would be the first women's US champion. And last
week on SmackDown, Chelsea didn't even acknowledge Piper for helping

(07:57):
her win the title, so that was definitely a slapping
face to Piper, and that's why I see her standing
her ground, attacking Chelsea for not acknowledging her and becoming
a number one contender for that title and eventually winning
the title, making her the baby face. But on the
other hand, you got meat shed that of course, still
wants another shot at the title because she definitely deserves

(08:19):
it because she was robbed at of it at Saturday
Nice main event, So I can maybe see a triple
threat match happening very soon for the title. But if
Chelsea happens to retain, it would be because she cheated.

Speaker 3 (08:31):
That's the only way I see her retaining.

Speaker 2 (08:34):
But other than that, I would love to see either
Meechin or Piper a champion, so we should see. And lastly,
we're gonna eventually find out who attack Jay Cargill or
a few weeks back on SmackDown, and I have a
few names on my list who I think did it,
so number one, so suspect number one, I think it

(08:56):
could be Bailey, you know, even though she is now
a baby face, but she has been a heel before
in the past, so maybe she may be trying to
be a heel again. And she is cool with Naomi,
so quite naturally she wants her in Naomi to be
the champions.

Speaker 3 (09:11):
And also, if you all been.

Speaker 2 (09:13):
Paying attention, Bianca really don't care for Bailey, and I'm
sure Bailey sees that. So in the back of Bailey's mind,
she could be thinking like I tried to make things
work and she still got her problems with me. She's
still mad with me, So since she has her issues
with me, I'm gonna take it out on her partner
and I'm gonna make sure they drop the titles so

(09:34):
me and Naomi can win. So she probably did it
in hopes of Bianca and Jay dropping the title since
that attack caused Jay to be out of action to
where she can't even help defend the titles. But Naomi
stepped in, And if you think about them, when Naomi
stepped in, where was Bailey ad to support Naomi. So

(09:55):
the second suspect I think did it was maybe Naomi.
And I know it sounds strange because her and Jay
didn't appear to have any be with each other, But
if you all pay attention, Naomi and Beyonca are very cool,
and Jade and Beyonca are also very cool too, and
Naomi may feel some type of way about that because
she wants to elevate with Bianca like she's doing now,

(10:18):
and she may only want Beyonca to be cool with
her and nobody else, So in the back of her mind,
she might be thinking this shit has only been on
the roster for about a year. She thinks she could
just come over to the main roster and dominate, go
to Mania to team up with me and.

Speaker 3 (10:34):
My friend and win gold with my friend taking my spotlight.

Speaker 2 (10:38):
I'm gonna let her know the hard way by taking
her out, So she could have did it out of jealousy.
And also, Naomi has been a heel in a long time,
so this may be her moment to become a heel.
And if she did do it, Beyonca may want to
be careful because Naomi can strike at any time if
they drop them titles, because of course, she wants to

(10:59):
elevate and she doesn't want to fall second to No. One.
And also, on the December twenty twenty twenty four episode
of SmackDown, you know, she had a strange look on
her face like she did something with Bianca and Byron
Saxton was talking about the incident with Jade. So that's
why I believe she could be suspect number two. And lastly,

(11:20):
the last suspect will probably blow our minds, but I
believe it can be true. I believe the third suspect
maybe Beyonca herself and The reason why I feel like
she is the suspect is because Russell Many would be
here in three months, so of course she would be
preparing to fight Ja that mania, which I feel will happen.
So she needed to do something to jump start beef

(11:43):
with her and Jade.

Speaker 3 (11:44):
And even though.

Speaker 2 (11:45):
Bianca was battling in the Women's US title tournament at
the time we found out, it's a chance she could
have done it before her match. And Beyonca lo KEI
may have always been jealous of Jade because Jay definitely
has a lot of potential, She definitely has a great physique,
She came over to the main roster fast, she did
do an awesome job at the Royal Rumbo last year,

(12:08):
and j can't give Beyonca a run for her money.
And Beyonca does want the spotlight to be taken off
of her for Jade, And she also may feel like
Jay was holding her back from singles competition to become
the women's champion, because let's be real, Beyonca wants to
redeem herself to become the Women's champion again because she
really enjoys that title being around her waist because she

(12:31):
did fall hard to get that to get those titles,
and in order for her to regain a title, she
has to focus more on singles competition. And that's another
reason why she could have taken out j because she
probably felt like Jay was in her way, in the
way of her becoming a women's champion, and she was

(12:52):
probably getting tired of sharing the spotlight with j And also,
Bianca has been a heel in so long since NXT.

Speaker 3 (13:00):
This can be a heel turn for her, leading.

Speaker 2 (13:02):
It to WrestleMania to challenge Jade because that twenty On
that December twentieth episode of SmackDown, Bianca also had a
strange look on her face about the situation, which leads
me to believe she knows something or maybe she did something.
So that's why I feel she could be suspecting number
three because I don't see anyone else who could have

(13:23):
done it besides Bailey, Naomi, or Bianca. But the truth
will be later revealed so and on SmackDown. So that's
another reason why I'm happy that it's going to be
on for three hours, so we could see the start
of a rivalry, a heel turn, and more drama. But overall,
I think that the debut of rob going to Netflix

(13:43):
is gonna be exciting and a huge and a huge success.
And I think three hours of SmackDown it's gonna be
awesome as well. So that's gonna do it for this
bonus episode of Wrestling Discussions. I hope you all enjoyed
it and that you all tuning in to all this
Monday on Netflix and smack Down this Friday on USA,

(14:05):
and I will be dropping the full episode soon, so
be on the lookout, and if anyone is interested, I
still have merch on my website and I will lead
that info in the description box in my new single
not Going we'll be dropping tomorrow at midnight that will
be available on all streaming platforms and it's a song

(14:25):
about standing your ground. So again, thank you all so much,
Stay safe, stay well, and God bless you all. And
also my thoughts some prayers go out to the families
of those ten people that lost their lives in that
Bourbon Street attack that took place in New Orleans on
New Year's Day. I just pray that God would give

(14:47):
those families to strength to cope with the situation and
so also give them the strength to heal their hearts.
In the name of jesus I pray Amen W

The Burden

The Burden

The Burden is a documentary series that takes listeners into the hidden places where justice is done (and undone). It dives deep into the lives of heroes and villains. And it focuses a spotlight on those who triumph even when the odds are against them. Season 5 - The Burden: Death & Deceit in Alliance On April Fools Day 1999, 26-year-old Yvonne Layne was found murdered in her Alliance, Ohio home. David Thorne, her ex-boyfriend and father of one of her children, was instantly a suspect. Another young man admitted to the murder, and David breathed a sigh of relief, until the confessed murderer fingered David; “He paid me to do it.” David was sentenced to life without parole. Two decades later, Pulitzer winner and podcast host, Maggie Freleng (Bone Valley Season 3: Graves County, Wrongful Conviction, Suave) launched a “live” investigation into David's conviction alongside Jason Baldwin (himself wrongfully convicted as a member of the West Memphis Three). Maggie had come to believe that the entire investigation of David was botched by the tiny local police department, or worse, covered up the real killer. Was Maggie correct? Was David’s claim of innocence credible? In Death and Deceit in Alliance, Maggie recounts the case that launched her career, and ultimately, “broke” her.” The results will shock the listener and reduce Maggie to tears and self-doubt. This is not your typical wrongful conviction story. In fact, it turns the genre on its head. It asks the question: What if our champions are foolish? Season 4 - The Burden: Get the Money and Run “Trying to murder my father, this was the thing that put me on the path.” That’s Joe Loya and that path was bank robbery. Bank, bank, bank, bank, bank. In season 4 of The Burden: Get the Money and Run, we hear from Joe who was once the most prolific bank robber in Southern California, and beyond. He used disguises, body doubles, proxies. He leaped over counters, grabbed the money and ran. Even as the FBI was closing in. It was a showdown between a daring bank robber, and a patient FBI agent. Joe was no ordinary bank robber. He was bright, articulate, charismatic, and driven by a dark rage that he summoned up at will. In seven episodes, Joe tells all: the what, the how… and the why. Including why he tried to murder his father. Season 3 - The Burden: Avenger Miriam Lewin is one of Argentina’s leading journalists today. At 19 years old, she was kidnapped off the streets of Buenos Aires for her political activism and thrown into a concentration camp. Thousands of her fellow inmates were executed, tossed alive from a cargo plane into the ocean. Miriam, along with a handful of others, will survive the camp. Then as a journalist, she will wage a decades long campaign to bring her tormentors to justice. Avenger is about one woman’s triumphant battle against unbelievable odds to survive torture, claim justice for the crimes done against her and others like her, and change the future of her country. Season 2 - The Burden: Empire on Blood Empire on Blood is set in the Bronx, NY, in the early 90s, when two young drug dealers ruled an intersection known as “The Corner on Blood.” The boss, Calvin Buari, lived large. He and a protege swore they would build an empire on blood. Then the relationship frayed and the protege accused Calvin of a double homicide which he claimed he didn’t do. But did he? Award-winning journalist Steve Fishman spent seven years to answer that question. This is the story of one man’s last chance to overturn his life sentence. He may prevail, but someone’s gotta pay. The Burden: Empire on Blood is the director’s cut of the true crime classic which reached #1 on the charts when it was first released half a dozen years ago. Season 1 - The Burden In the 1990s, Detective Louis N. Scarcella was legendary. In a city overrun by violent crime, he cracked the toughest cases and put away the worst criminals. “The Hulk” was his nickname. Then the story changed. Scarcella ran into a group of convicted murderers who all say they are innocent. They turned themselves into jailhouse-lawyers and in prison founded a lway firm. When they realized Scarcella helped put many of them away, they set their sights on taking him down. And with the help of a NY Times reporter they have a chance. For years, Scarcella insisted he did nothing wrong. But that’s all he’d say. Until we tracked Scarcella to a sauna in a Russian bathhouse, where he started to talk..and talk and talk. “The guilty have gone free,” he whispered. And then agreed to take us into the belly of the beast. Welcome to The Burden.
