In Genesis 17, Abraham is reminded of the promise that God has for him now, after 24 years of waiting. He laughs.
Abraham's laughter is probably after processing the reality of the matter:
- He has waited now 24 years.
- He has another son.
- He is still in an impossible situation; he's 99 and his wife is 89 years old.
- He has to reinforce his belief in God.
As you listen in, consider that we have a God of Possibilities in the midst of impossibilities.
Abraham is the Father of our Faith because God trained Abraham to learn how to trust God in something that is impossible.
