Welcome back to another episode of the "Wrong To Strong" 2-Minute Devotionals. This week Klavs Vadonis, who has been involved in Cook County jail ministry for over a year, shares a devotional based on Matthew 21:28-32. The passage tells the story of a man with two sons who are asked to work in a vineyard. One initially refuses but then goes, while the other agrees to go but does not. Klavs explains how Jesus uses this parable to expose hypocrisy, emphasizing that true obedience to God is demonstrated through actions rather than words. He encourages listeners to reflect on their own actions, repent, and align their lives with the Word of God.

Welcome to the wrong too strong, two minute devotional each week.
We're blessed to have a newguest share a powerful scripture
and a word of encouragement toignite your spirit and fuel your
journey of faith.
Let these messages inspire andstrengthen you as you grow
closer to God and embrace thetransformation he has for you.

(00:32):
Stay strong, keep the faith andlet's grow together.
We're on a mission from God fromdarkness to light.
And from Wrong To Strong.
Hello, my name is Klavs.
Welcome to the Wrong To Strong.
Two minute devotional.
I've been doing jail ministryfor over a year now.
And yesterday when I was in thejail, I was doing this teaching

(00:56):
on Matthew 21 and I was sharingthese thoughts with the guys.
The passage I want to talk toyou about today is, uh, it comes
from Matthew 21, starting fromverse 28.
And it says this, uh, tell me,what do you think about this?
There was a man who had twosons.
He went to the first son andsaid, son, go and work today in
the vineyard.
The son answered, I will not go,but later he decided he should

(01:19):
go, and he went.
Then the father went to theother son and said, Son, go and
work today in the vineyard.
He answered, Yes, I will go, buthe did not go.
Which of these two sons obeyedhis father?
Have you noticed how Jesusalways has a way of looking into
people's hearts?
And expose them.
He usually does this withparables, especially towards the

(01:39):
Pharisees.
And now, in this text, we seehow Jesus uses this parable to
make people see a situation froma different perspective.
And in this parable, Jesus isrevealing the hearts of the
Pharisees.
He's revealing their hypocrisyand using these two sons as an
example.
There is one father and twosons.

(02:00):
The invitation to obey goesforward to both of the sons, but
only one obeys.
The other one says that he'sgonna obey, but never does.
This text reveals that God, ismore concerned what we do,
rather what we just say.
Jesus wants a real relationshipwith us.
we can say that we want to obeyhim all we want, but if we don't

(02:21):
obey him, then it all is invain.
God wants a real relationshipwith us.
He does not want hypocriticalpeople who say one thing and do
another.
James 1 22 says, but be doers ofthe word and not hearers only,
deceiving yourselves.
So we can live a lifestyle wherewe say one thing and deceive

(02:41):
ourselves where we think we'realso obeying that thing, but
we're actually not followingGod's commandments.
So today I want to encourageyou, if you feel convicted, if
you feel like the second sonwho's saying one thing and doing
another, Repent.
Repent and turn back to Jesus.
Turn 180 degrees around and walkthe right direction.

(03:02):
I'm Klavs and I'm wrong tostrong.
