Thank you for joining us for another episode of the "Wrong To Strong" 2-Minute Devotionals. This week our brother Gideon Indovina from Moody Bible College reflects on 1 Peter 2:16 which urges us to live as people who are free from sin, while not abusing our freedom, but instead using it to serving God. 1 Peter reminds us that Christ has freed us from the bondage of our sins and fleshly desires. However, even though we've been liberated, we often feel chained to our past. This devotional explores the concept of freedom in Christ and emphasizes the importance of recognizing and living out our new identity in Him. Let’s consider 3 practical steps to embed this truth in our lives: List the lies and false identities we’ve believed, bring them to God, and ask Him to reveal who we truly are in Christ.

(00:32):
Stay strong, keep the faith andlet's grow together.
We're on a mission from God fromdarkness to light.
And from Wrong To Strong.
Hi, I'm Gideon Indovina andwelcome to the Wrong Strong Two
Minute Devotional.
Today we're gonna be looking at1 Peter chapter 2, verse 16,

(00:54):
which states live as people whoare free, not using your freedom
to cover up what's evil, butliving as servants of God.
Peter reminds us that we've beenfreed by Christ and we no longer
need to live how we once were, but now we can live as servants
of God, but he warns us thatjust because we've been freed.

(01:16):
This freedom doesn't give us theright to abuse God's grace.
But the question is,"What havewe been freed from"?
The Greek word for free actuallymeans"to be freed from slavery".
So what were we slaves of?
We were slaves to our lives, ourfleshly desires, our sins, our
strongholds.
So if we've been freed fromthese things in Christ, why do

(01:39):
we still struggle with'em?
Look at it this way.
Let's say your arm is tied withthe chain and that chain's tied
to a boulder and a man comes upand he breaks that chain, and
now you're free to go whereveryou are.
But even though the chain's beenbroken, you still see the chain
wrapped around your wrist.

(01:59):
See, the bolder represents oursins, our strongholds, the man
who came in and broke that chainis obviously Christ and the
chain that's around our wrist.
Represents all of our memories, our life, all the things we've
experienced.
Even though Christ has brokenthat chain, we still see part of
attached to us.
And so we don't look actuallyfree even though we are.

(02:21):
And so the real battle isn't,has Christ freed us yet?
The battle is, do you believethat you've been set free?
The enemy is always trying toattack our identity.
You're a sinner.
You're an addict.
And while we do struggle withthings.
That's not who we are.
Before Christ, we were sinners, but now in Christ we've been set

(02:45):
free.
We still struggle with sin, butit's not who we are.
The reason why identity is soimportant is whatever our
identity is, we will live itout.
If our identity is being asinner, we are going to live it
out in sin, but if our identityis being someone who's been set
free, we will walk in thatfreedom.
Here are some steps we can do topractically apply this truth to

(03:07):
our lives.
It's number 1.
List the lies.
Write down the false identitiesthat have been labeled onto you.
Number 2, bring it to God.
Process this and ask him to takeit.
And number 3, ask him to revealto you who you really are.
I'm Gideon Indovina and I'mwrong to strong.
