(00:32):
Stay strong, keep the faith, andlet's grow together.
We're on a mission from God,from darkness to light and from
wrong to strong.
Hello everyone.
My name's Omar Calvio, and thisis the wrong to strong two
minute devotional.
Yesterday I was asked to share aword of encouragement to the men

(00:54):
inside, Chicago's Cook CountyJail, and then when I was
praying and asking the Lord fora word for these men, a question
came to my mind, is thereanything too hard for the Lord?
This question could be found inGenesis chapter 18.
From verses nine through 14.
In this story, three menappeared to Abraham.
Two of them were angels.

(01:14):
One of them was the Lordhimself.
This is what it says.
Starting in verse nine, where,Sarah, your wife, the visitors
asked, she's inside the tent.
Abraham replied.
Then one of them said, I willreturn to you about this time
next year, and your wife Sarahwill have a son.
Sarah was listening to thisconversation from the tent.
Abraham and Sarah were both veryold by this time, and Sarah was

(01:37):
long past the age of havingchildren, so she laughed
silently to herself and said, how could a worn out woman like
me and enjoy such pleasure, especially when my master, my
husband, is also so old.
Then the Lord said to Abraham, why did Sarah laugh?
Why did she say, can an oldwoman like me have a baby?

(01:59):
Verse 14, is anything too hardfor the Lord?
I will return about this timenext year and Sarah will have a
son.
Clearly in this text, the Lordreveals himself.
It is him.
It is Yahweh, himself, speakingto Abraham.
Going to that question, isanything too hard for the Lord?
This is what's considered arhetorical question.

(02:20):
Basically, it's a question thatis asked in order to create a
dramatic effect or to make apoint rather than to get an
answer.
Of course, the Lord is implyingthat answer to be No!.
There's nothing too hard for theLord.
They serve as a reminder ofGod's power and ability.
To do what seems impossible tohumans uh, we could learn a lot

(02:40):
from Abraham Abraham'sconsidered the father of faith.
According to the Bible, it saysthat without faith it is
impossible to please God.
That's found in Hebrews 11, one.
So what is, faith, the Bibledefines faith as the assurance
of things hope for and theconviction of things not seen.
Meaning a firm trust and what isunseen and a strong belief in

(03:01):
what it's hope for.
What could we learn fromAbraham?
One believe in God.
Abraham's faith was demonstratedby his belief in God's promises,
including the promise of hisson, Isaac, and the great
nation.
Through him two, trust in God'spromises.
Abraham trusted God even whenthe circumstances seemed
impossible, such as when he wastold to leave his home and

(03:23):
family and travel to renew land.
So in Hebrews 11, eight, it saysIt was by faith that Abraham
obeyed when God called him toleave home and go to another
land that God would give him ashis inheritance.
He went without knowing where hewas going.
This scripture here clearlysummarizes what faith looks
like.

(03:44):
It says that Abraham wentwithout knowing where he was
going.
I like to think of it this way.
It's not about where you'regoing, but it's the one that you
are following.
When God is bidding you, come tome, follow him.
You may not know where he'sleading you, where you're going,
where he's guiding you, but putyour faith and trust in the one
who is calling you.
God will never leave you.

(04:06):
He will never forsake you.
No matter what you're fightingor going through in this season,
put your faith and hope in God.
There is nothing too hard forthe Lord.
There is no prayer that hecannot answer.
There is no mountain that hecannot move.
He is the one that makes a wayoutta no way.
First Corinthians two, ninesays, no eye has seen, no ear

(04:27):
has heard, and no mind hasimagined what God has prepared
for those who love him.
My name's Omar Calvillo and I amwrong to strong.
