An electrical issue is thought to have been the cause of a fire in the 700 block of Wildwood Avenue in Kankakee overnight. Kankakee Fire Chief Brian LaRoche says the call came in just before 12:30 this morning and when firefighters got to the scene they found a small fire in one of the bedrooms of the home. The fire was quickly put out and reports say it seemed to have started in an electrical outlet. Damage from the fire was put at about 10-thousand-dollars, no injuries were reported, two people were displaced by the blaze.
Bradley Police report an instance where shots were fired in the Village Thursday. In a Facebook post, Bradley Officials say it was just after three Thrusday afternoon when they were called to an attempted burglary in progress in the 100 block of South Jefferson Avenue. While on their way there, officers were informed shots had been fired with garages and at least one car hit by the gunfire. Bradley police chased the suspect vehicle into Kankakee where Kankakee Police reportedly picked up the chase, but ended the chase because of concerns for public safety. Bradley Police say it appears to have been an isolated incident and it is still under investigation.

A family favorite light show returns to Olivet's Strickler Planetarium this weekend. Professor of Astronomy and Planetarium Director Madeline Shepley. Show times are 6 and 7:30 tonight, and 4:30, 6 and 7:30 tomorrow night. The Ooky Spooky light show will return the weekend of October 24th.
St. Anne Pumpkin Fest starts today
It's a sure sign of fall, the St. Anne Pumpkin Fest is going on this weekend in St. Anne. Becky Pinson is the entertainment coordinator for the Fest. She says things kick off today with the rummage sale at the Parish Hall
