(00:02):
And you know.
All right.
What is up y'all?
(00:23):
It is Brother Pyro.
And joining me today for a W'SForbidden Door, my co-host on
wrestling, crossroads Land andSeal.
Welcome back, DeRio.
And how's it going?
Today we're gonna do something alot really special with this
one.
I think it being a hybrid of anA EW and a.
(00:46):
Uh.
New Japan.
New Japan.
Thank you.
And sprinkle in a little CMLL,right?
Uh, I think if I can make itwork.
I think I'm gonna upload thisepisode and our recap for
Forbidden Door to both channel.
'cause I think that would be alot of fun.
Oh, I think so.
(01:06):
Um, so I know we're recording abit early.
Given collision tonight.
Still don't know what more theymight add.
'cause Tony Conn loves to dosome last minute additions.
Not saying something.
I'm trying to be nice here.
I'm trying not to rag all overthe company.
(01:27):
Oh, I'm, yeah.
I'm gonna try my hardest.
All right, so with that beingsaid, let's start us off.
Why don't you bring us in?
Alright, well, we'll start offwith the, uh, new Japan, the
IWGP World HeavyweightChampionship match.
We have Zach Saber Jr.
Taking on Nigel McGinnis.
(01:49):
Uh, we got here because therewas a, uh, four-way technical
match on a collision, and inthat match, Nigel won the
opportunity to take on ZachSaber Jr.
Dude, to think last year was hisfirst.
Last year, this, this time lastyear, we're talking all in
London.
That casino gauntlet first matchin 14 years.
(02:11):
Mm-hmm.
Fast forward a year.
Now he's got it shot at one ofthe biggest prizes in all of pro
wrestling.
Oh, I know.
And it couldn't have happened toa better guy.
I mean, his journey to get backto where he is right now is
nothing short of inspirational.
Oh no.
Honestly, it's been watching hiscareer the way I have.
(02:32):
I really didn't get to watch alot of his in Ring career.
I've always known him as acommentator.
So getting to see this, uh,outside of, you know, seeing the
highlights that I have from whenhe was full-time active, getting
to see him come back and, uh,continue to do something that he
loves.
It warm, absolutely warms myheart.
(02:55):
Oh, I, yeah, I mean, I'm, I'veknown him mostly from when he
was in TNA, um, wrestling overthere, and he put on some, I
forgot he was in TNA.
Yeah, he put on some bangersover there.
I know.
Predominantly he was in, uh.
Ring of honor.
Yes.
And I, I know I didn't get toreally watch much of that
career.
No.
His Ring of Honor stuff wasreally good as well.
(03:17):
Especially his matches with, uh,Danielson were just the stuff of
Legends and Ring of Honor.
Oh yeah, dude.
Like last year, that rivalrythat he had with Danielson
actually stemmed from my careeris different because of Yep.
Because of you, because ofinjury.
I should be where you are.
Mm-hmm.
So to see him fight back after14 years.
(03:38):
Uh, from that set injury to getback here is, is gonna be
amazing.
Oh, I agree.
Now, going into the predictionshere, um, almost everybody is on
board with, uh, Zach Saberexcept for Flash.
He is gonna be going with NIJone.
That one?
Yeah.
No, that one really caught meoff guard when.
Uh, looking at this,'cause Iknow he's not super familiar
(04:03):
with either guy.
I wonder if that this was just athrow a name to throw a name.
That's a good possibility.
But I do wanna pick your brainas to why, why Mr.
SB or the sj?
Well, with, with, uh, saber, heis probably the best technician
in the world right now in anysingle wrestling promotion and
plus, um.
(04:23):
I just don't see them takingthe, uh, new Japan title off of
a guy from New Japan and puttingit on an a EW guy.
Would you really be surprisedthough?
I would not be surprised, but atthe same time, I don't see it.
Just like I don't see Tony Kahnever putting any one of his
titles on a person from anotherpromotion.
I was gonna say,'cause you saythat, but like, let's.
(04:45):
Let's, let's break some stuffdown.
We've had Moxley in a EW as IWGPWorld Champion, but he also had
a contract with IW.
He also had the new Japancontract.
Okay.
We've also, we're Okay thenwe're gonna go with Mercedes
Monet, who is currently holdinglike nine titles.
(05:11):
Yeah.
She just won her ninth oneyesterday.
Outside of the TBS title, whichis the only a EW branded one.
That's fair.
But I mean, there's possibly Andisn't one of them from New
Japan?
Yes, she has one of, she has,uh, one of the new Japan belts
and she would not under contractwith a W So again, would we
really be surprised?
(05:31):
Would not be surprised.
But I just don't see it.
I don't, I don't see it for thereason being with Nigel not
being a full-time, a full-timeguy with him.
Primarily on commentary.
I just don't think that that isa good look no for, for your
champion.
No.
Like you're gonna want to putit, have it on somebody that's
(05:53):
gonna be able to defend itregularly and be able to really
keep up in the ring.
Not saying Nigel can't, butagain, him being as up there in
age as he is, he's, I'm gonnainjuries kind of cost him his
prime.
I, I, I, I'm with you and Idon't see it happening, but you
(06:15):
and I don't see it happening formuch different reasons, correct.
I agree.
Alright, going into, uh, ournext match Triple Threat
elimination tagged match for thea EW tag team titles, we have
Bandido and Brody, Brody King,or, uh, as it's come to be
(06:35):
known, Broido Broido.
We have FTR and we have the hurtbusiness walking in as
champions.
Uh, we had an eliminatortournament, uh, to determine
number one contenders withBROIDO and FTR meeting in the
finals.
That match ending, uh, I don'tremember if it was time limit
(06:57):
draw or double count out timelimit draw, but resulting in
Tony Khan announcing it'll be athree-way eliminator.
F uh, for these tag titles andhow convenient.
I mean, yeah, I 100% am reallylooking forward to this match.
(07:19):
Uh, Hertz Syndicate has donereally well since arriving in a
EW.
I do wish their partnership withMJF would've lasted a little
longer.
Not gonna lie, that was reallyentertaining.
Oh, that was very entertaining.
But just like a lot of things ina EW, something that becomes
very entertaining, they drop itpretty quickly.
Uh, FTR one of the best tagteams in pro wrestling today,
(07:41):
I'm gonna die on that hill.
Well, I, I'd even go say one ofthe best tag teams in pro
wrestling history.
Easily their best team on theroster.
Mm-hmm.
Uh, and this again, speaking ofthings that are entertaining,
Brody King and Bandido being thetag team we didn't know we
needed.
Yeah.
Has given me freaking life.
(08:02):
My guy, oh, they've been puttingon bangers and that was ma in
these eliminator matches.
But yeah, look, I love the howconvenient aspect that you had.
Um, I can see this playing outin a number of different ways
for the sake of the story that,um, we're progressing towards.
Christian Cage and cope withtheir rivalry with FTR?
(08:28):
Yes.
That started back cope's,starting back at Dynasty
Christian, kind of being addedto the mix recently.
Yes.
Uh, going into predictions, youand Twisted went FTR.
Cauldron and Flash are ba Andoand I know the, I know the team
(08:52):
I gave initially, but you knowwhat, we're gonna be a little
split three ways'cause I'm goingwith the hurt syndicate to
retake.
Okay.
Fair enough.
I know, I know who I said, butthinking about it, here's how I
can see it playing out.
'cause I'm gonna defend myargument for a second.
Sure.
Broido is just too new to, uh.
(09:14):
And I don't think they'vesolidified themselves as a TAG
team well enough yet to justifyputting the titles on me.
Makes sense.
I love FTR.
You know that they're gonna getanother shot and reign with
those titles at some point inthe future.
But again, given the rivalrywith COPE and Christian,'cause
(09:38):
we know how both of those menlike to operate.
I can see them somehow gettinginvolved, costing f uh, being
and being the reason FTR, youknow, loot focus.
Costing them the match.
I can, I, I see, I see the pointon that one right there.
(09:59):
But I also think that, you know, with uh, COPE and Christian,
they got some business to handlea little bit later on in the
show.
So, I mean, they might notnecessarily get involved in the
finish on this particular match, but I see FTR depending on where
this match lands on the cardthough,'cause I can see this
happening later on the card thanChristian Cage at Copes match.
(10:22):
Um, as well.
Yeah, so I can see that stillplaying a factor, just like I
can also see FTR gettinginvolved with Edge, or I'm
sorry, with COPE and Christian'smatch mm-hmm.
As well.
Right.
But, and I think that's justgonna add more fuel to the fire
that is that rivalry.
And I, I can see that.
But also with the next big onegov all out taking place in
(10:44):
Toronto, what better thing tosit there and add to that
particular match?
'cause you know, we're gettingto FTR and COPE and Christian
Oh, exactly.
That's exactly what I, but toput the belts on the line in
Toronto, that's where I'mthinking that they're gonna go
with.
Okay.
Okay.
I didn't realize that they weregonna do that in Toronto.
Yeah, it's in Toronto.
All Out is in Toronto.
That's gonna be awesome.
(11:04):
Yes.
Um, yeah, no, I, I actuallydidn't realize that, but now
that I know that little bit ofinformation, I think that's
gonna be fun to, to really playon.
We're gonna have to just waitand see what happens with this
one.
Yeah, I agree.
But who do you think getseliminated first though?
(11:25):
That's a great question.
I think the first team out isgoing to be her syndicate.
Really, I think it, I thinkabout it, it's old school ECW
psychology.
Like if there is a three-waymatch, like perfect example of
this is when Taz was gettingready to leave the company, he
was put in a three-way danceagainst Mike awesome.
And Meato Tanaka.
Mm-hmm.
(11:46):
And he was the very first personeliminated in that match at the
very beginning of the show.
And everybody was shocked.
And by taking the champ out, nowyou're building the anticipation
of, yes, we are gonna have a newtag team champion at this point,
and you know, who, who is itreally gonna be?
Okay.
Okay.
I see that.
Yeah, I, I see that.
What about you?
I, I was gonna go with Broido.
(12:09):
I, I, I think just again, withhow new of a team they are, I
think it's gonna be like aslight miscommunication that's
going to, going to cost themthis chance.
Yeah, I can see that.
I can see that very easily, butit's definitely gonna be a fun
match to watch.
Oh yeah.
Alright.
Going into the next match on thecard we have Kyle Fletcher
(12:29):
defending the TNT Championshipagainst jmu.
Takahashi.
Now, Takahashi announced back inMay that he was going to be
fighting.
At Forbidden Door this year, noone that really knew exactly who
he was gonna be fighting.
Nobody knew who he was gonna betaking on, well, in an eight
person tag.
He happened to show up as, uh,one of the mystery opponents to
Kyle Fletcher, the Young Bucks, and also the rest of the Don
(12:51):
Callis family member, uh, JoshAlexander.
And, um, Takahashi actuallypinned Alexander at that point
and made his intentions knownthat he wanted Kyle Fletcher and
Kyle Fletcher's.
Like, you know what?
I want anybody from New Japan, and I'll take you.
And so I think this is gonna bea really good match.
I mean, Kyle Fletcher has reallycome into his own ever since,
breaking away from Osprey and,uh, the, the empire, so to
(13:14):
speak.
And so this is just gonnasolidify him even more as a
possibly top guy, whether hewins or loses.
Oh, yeah.
I think this solidifies hiscareer regardless.
He's definitely become a greatsingle star, and I hate, hate,
hate, hate, hate, hate, hate, hate, hate, hate.
(13:35):
Hate.
Hmm.
Tell me how you really feel.
Loathed Depi can't stand givingthis man credit for anything
that he does, but Kyle's KyleFletcher's singles success is
(13:55):
thanks in large part to thetutelage that is Don.
Callous.
I would agree wholeheartedly onthat one.
Don Callous has really helpedshape and mold the young, such a
young talent.
'cause Kyle Fletcher is stillrelatively young.
(14:17):
Oh yeah.
Very easily.
And again, I can't stand givingDon call any type of credit.
If so, if I can avoid it.
I will, but this is one of thosesituations that I really can't,
Kyle Fletcher doesn't becomethis proto star or this big rye
(14:40):
doesn't have this big rise.
Isn't this superstar to be?
Mm-hmm.
Because I'm not gonna say he'squite that superstar next face,
whatever.
At this moment, but he's well onhis way.
And if he doesn't align with DonCallis, I don't think we get
here.
At least not this quickly andnot this aggressively.
(15:05):
Oh, no, no, we do not.
And, uh, let's also not takeinto, let's also take into
account, you know.
Uh, Takahashi in this match.
Takahashi is definitely one ofthe best, uh, athletes, one of
the best wrestlers in the world.
Um, not, doesn't get enoughcredit for, no, he doesn't.
He's, he's a very fly under theradar kind of, kind of star.
(15:25):
Mm-hmm.
But we also have to realize hehad, with that being said,
though, we also gottaacknowledge the work that he's
done and how well rounded and.
Uh, I'm trying to, he's a verywell-rounded and well-respected
and well traveled wrestlerthat's there.
(15:45):
We thank you.
Thank you.
Yeah.
So moving into predictions onthis one.
Um, it is four on one.
Now, normally I'm the one on theisland by myself, but hope
strangely enough, over the lastfew les and pay-per-view, I have
not really been on an island bymyself.
Uh, so one person is takingTakahashi and that is flash.
(16:07):
And the reason why is he justdoesn't like Kyle Fletcher and
doesn't want him to win.
I feel like that is fair, but Ithink again, with Don Callis
being in his corner, alwayshaving something up his sleeve,
Fletcher has the edge especially'cause with I Taka Hashi
(16:27):
setting, he, this is pretty muchgonna be his last.
European show.
His last London show.
Yeah.
Him and Tahashi both said that.
What, what sense does it makehere knowing that a EW really is
wanting to keep London and theO2 arena in such a heavy
(16:50):
rotation every year?
Yeah.
And if they do pull that triggerout of it, I don't think I can,
I don't see him holding it verylong, so I can't justify
Fletcher dropping that title.
No.
No, I can, I, I don't seeFletcher dropping the title at
all, but it is going to be ahell of a match to take a look
at.
(17:11):
Alright, going into our nextmatch, a EW Women's World
Champion Timeless Tony Storm, defend against Ring of Honors
World Women's Champion, thefallen goddess known as Athena,
about freaking time.
Dude, we have only been buildingto this for God knows how long.
(17:36):
Athena has proven that she canhold a company on her shoulders
and be the face of a company anda division.
Mm-hmm.
She, uh, earned this opportunityby winning that, uh, gal, the
casino, g battle Royal back headall in.
And after a few weeks ofteasing, she did announce.
(17:59):
Yo, I'm cashing in at ForbiddenDoor.
'cause why not cash it in on oneof the biggest stages that a EW
has to offer?
Yep.
And as much as I would love tosay timeless got this with the
crowd behind her like she did.
Was it last year?
Last year?
Or was it the year before?
(18:19):
Uh, the year before.
Because LA last year she lost itto, uh, Mariah May.
Mariah May, but the year beforeshe came out victorious.
Mm-hmm.
Against, I think it was Sreyaactually.
Yes.
Um, going into our predictionsright away and then we can
continue to break this down.
Uh, myself and Twisted are goingAthena.
(18:40):
Timing just feels right.
Everybody else says to timeless.
Tony Storm.
I want, I wanna know before Icontinue to break down why I
went Athena and I think I canspeak for twisted.
When I do go into my reasonings,I want to know why you have the
champ ticket.
So I.
It didn't really want to go withTony Storm, to be perfectly
(19:01):
honest.
I mean, we've had thisdiscussion before where I
personally think Tony Storm isgetting a little stale on her
persona right now.
I mean, it's just, it's becominga one trick pony.
I mean, yes, it's wordeddifferently, but it's just how
many times can you hear the samedribble every single time she
comes out?
But be that as it may, shehasn't gotten outside of, you
know, a couple years ago whenshe beat Soraya, she lost last
(19:22):
year, uh, in London, and now Ijust think that they're not
gonna have her lose two years ina row in London.
That's all.
Okay.
I mean, last year was, youreally couldn't go wrong.
No.
But with how over Mariah maybecame, I think it was hard not
to listen to the fans last yearversus in this instance, I feel
(19:43):
storyline wise, characterdevelopment wise, like all
signs, point to Athena, again, you're not gonna have her hold
this ring.
Hold a company title for as longas she has without having some
kind of plan or without, uh,giving her something more.
(20:04):
In that aspect, you're notgonna, you know, build up this
moment, this match.
You're not gonna have her on topof being the longest rating
Women's champion in Ring ofHonor history.
I'd be a very short list toreally compare it to.
Hasn't been around that long.
(20:24):
No.
You also aren't gonna give herthe opportunity to now win the,
the, the rights to challenge forthe title if there really wasn't
a Sure, a sure thing for her.
If, if, if I'm making any senseto you.
No, that makes sense.
I get where you're going withthat.
And with Athena, I mean, Iagree.
(20:44):
She's proven that she can hold acompany on her back.
She definitely does not belongin Ring of Honor.
For as long as she has had, shedefinitely should have been
featured on A-W-T-V-A heck of alot more.
And honestly, like I, I thinkthis is now the way that you get
to it.
'cause we're getting to that.
We're seeing that more and morelike we're seeing her featured
(21:05):
on a w more and more sincewinning this, uh, this
opportunity.
Yeah, and I think this is howyou really solidify her as.
As they start on your women'sroster in a, in a time where a w
your women's roster is kind oflacking, you're missing a lot of
big names, whether it be becauseof injury or, uh, personal time
(21:29):
off or whatever the case may be.
Bad booking.
Uh, Tony Storm hasn't had a, uh,a big name opponent really in a
while.
No, I mean, yeah, she hadMercedes at.
All in.
Very glad Mercedes didn't winthat, but I, that's where I
thought that was going.
(21:50):
But outside of Mercedes andAthena, where, where, where have
we gone with notable names tochallenge for the woman's title?
And that's'cause they also haveit built up any notable names to
really go the title.
That's, that's my point.
They have the opportunity withMegan Bain.
Who Megan Bain looks like amillion bucks and could have a
(22:11):
great program.
I mean, they almost struck.
Fire with Harley Cameron and itkind of fizzled after that.
They dropped it for almost noreason.
So I mean, they got plenty ofopportunity to build up the damn
division.
It's just that for one reason oranother, they can't just get
past looking at either Tony orMercedes.
That's it.
And, and, and, and again, mything is like, like we said, bad
(22:36):
booking on their part.
I also just with.
The character itself now runningstale, this tidal reign really
isn't as entertaining or asexciting or as elevated as her
first reign was.
(22:56):
True.
Very true.
And I think we, the fans justwant not her.
Oh, no.
Yeah, anybody.
It, it's getting to the pointwhere it's, uh, felt like back
in the day where it was anybodybut Roman.
And that's anybody but Roman,anybody.
Like, we've had a lot of those.
Anybody but you moments?
Yes.
Roman going into the women'sdivision for the longest time
(23:19):
in, uh, wwe, e.
Anybody but Charlotte?
Yeah.
Anybody but Tony.
Agreed.
Agreed.
But I just unfortunately don'tsee them taking the belt off her
right now.
I, I, I am, I am willing to, uh.
S give Athe of the benefit hereand she walks out of London.
(23:41):
Double Champion.
Uh, well, I hope so.
Here's hope into that.
But moving through into the nextmatch that we got going on, we
have got the unifiedchampionship, um, with.
OTA taking on Swerve Strickland.
Now, how did we get here?
We got here by, at all in, uh,swerve and Osprey took on the
young bucks and, uh, with one ofthe stipulations being that if
(24:03):
the Bucks lost, they would loseall their EVP powers.
Uh, swerve and Osprey took careof business bucks, no longer
have any of that power, and EDAbasically came out and was like,
Hey, you took away my, uh, elitebuddies.
Powers from them.
And so I don't really like youand I think I'm gonna take you
out.
And Sws like, word.
Let's go.
(24:24):
Uh, I will say I am loving, loving what they are doing with
the, ah.
With this storyline.
Yes.
They, they, they built a lot ofgood stuff.
This is a lot of layers goinginto this whole thing.
So, I mean, this is actuallysome really good story, dude,
(24:45):
making references to when theywere in TNA is generation Me.
Mm-hmm.
Max and Jeremy.
But yo, like, the way that theyhave gone about messing with
Nick and Matt has been.
Top tier level trolling and I amhere for all of it.
(25:09):
Yeah.
Taking away the pyro, I mean theTitan Tron, uh, basically
showing them getting, you know, kicked all over the place by
swerve in Osprey.
I mean, it's been beautiful.
No music.
No music.
I mean, the ra, the entrancedoor didn't go all the way up
one time and they had to crawlunderneath it just to get
moving.
Dude, dude.
Everything about this has beenbeautiful and I don't wanna see
(25:33):
them back in their EVP power, atleast not onscreen.
No, no, no.
I, I, I'm sure they still dohave the power backstage, but
like, on using it as theironscreen persona, I prefer them
for them to, you know, back offof that.
Yeah.
And they're doing a really goodjob of that now.
I agree.
I agree.
This is me and we, I know we'vetalked about this before, but I
(25:55):
genuinely feel like if you arein a position of power, just
'cause you have it doesn't meanone, you should abuse it.
Look at Cody when he was one ofthe EVPs.
Mm-hmm.
He did a really good job ofbalancing out his, his control
and his in ring character.
(26:16):
Same thing with, uh, omega.
Omega's doing a really good jobof that.
Yeah, I know Jericho is kind ofpart of that group as well a
little bit in terms of likehaving, you know, his creative
control and having a say in whatgoes on in the product as one of
the founding members.
(26:36):
And you can see he's, he does apretty decent job of balance.
Yeah.
Sometimes a little more in hisown favor than.
It should be, but I'm not gonna, you know, talk about a man
that's not, that hasn't beenaround in a while.
No.
And who knows if he's even gonnabe around at a w at the end of
the year as they've been talkingabout.
(26:57):
Yeah.
But that's a different story fora different time.
But, uh, go ahead and bring usinto the predictions.
So going into the predictions,uh, myself and you are going
with Okada.
Everybody else is going withSwerve.
I.
Love swerve.
I would love to see him holdsome gold again.
It's been way too long.
(27:17):
It's been about a year, hasn'tit?
About since when he lost toDanielson at all.
It in London.
In London.
It's been a year.
That was a badass match though.
I still, I was still go back andwatch that anyways.
Oh, that was great.
But again, with, uh, and I knowthey're, they're gonna be part
(27:39):
of a match later.
But that, uh, lights out, steelcage, patch.
I do feel like in some fashionthe books are gonna find a way
to get involved.
I, and that's what's gonna be,that's going to be what hurts
sw, chances of winning.
I, I would agree with that oneright there.
(28:00):
And Ada has just been, he'sbeen, he's been, he isn't, he
isn't the rainmaker that we onceNo knew new and appreciated and
respected, but also the way theyhave booked him though to look
like he is essentially this kindof Gods figure that really,
(28:20):
'cause think about it.
Mm-hmm.
He really shouldn't have one atall in.
No, he shouldn't have Thatshould have been Kenny's moment.
Yeah.
But this is one of those, I'mgonna flex my creative control.
And I get that they have such a,they have such a deep rooted
history.
I be it only having a, A handfulof matches.
(28:42):
Yeah.
The rivalry stems from justbeyond the ring at this point.
Yeah.
Yeah.
Which is kinda stupid.
Kind of shush.
Shush.
Okay.
Sh.
But like, I don't get why we'rein this position.
(29:02):
I don't, I don't get why Alta isin the position that he is right
now.
It just doesn't, the only thingI can think of is why they still
have the unified title on himgoing in is'cause they're
getting ready to do their, youknow, continental classic again,
and they want him in that one.
Um.
To sit there and just defend, you know, the, the strap and I
(29:23):
get it.
Okay.
With the blurring the titles, are we still getting that
Continental Classic check?
I have, I have a feeling that weare gonna be getting the
Continental class or like, arewe gonna get like a different
variance to that or, see that'swhy I, that's why they shouldn't
have called this the unifiedtitle at this point.
They should have just droppedthe international one.
Just said, okay, this is stillthe now Continental Classic,
right?
Like title, not calling it theUnified plus.
(29:44):
That's also so damn confusingwith the fact of the unified
title.
Usually you're thinking of likethe big world ones, but we're
talking mid card titles, two midcard titles.
I mean that were essentially thesame title.
It makes no sense, but I feelthat they're still gonna have
the Continental Classic, andthat's why they kept it on eda.
And that's why I still feel thatthey're gonna keep it on EDA
after this.
(30:05):
That's like if I took, and I'mgonna go with, Hmm.
I'm, I'm trying to think of thebest way to put this because I'm
trying to think of like co othercompanies and their titles.
That'd be like me taking the exdivision title from TNA and what
(30:27):
was once the Cruiserweight titlein WWE e to blur them like
they're the same title.
Or we can sit there and just useWWE e example.
'cause I see where you're goingwith this.
That'd be taking the Women'sIntercontinental title and the
Women's United States title.
Combining'em and saying, this isthe unified champion.
(30:48):
Like, like I could see thatworking with your Women's World
Championships or the Men's WorldChampionships.
Please don't ever do that againthough.
No, I, I'm liking the whole twodifferent sets of titles for per
one set of titles per show kindof thing.
Yeah, we didn't like it whenthey had the tag titles hooked
up.
(31:08):
I wasn't entirely mad at itbecause of the way they've been
booking that at that time.
Their lackluster divisions.
Tag divisions on both shows, butnow, but now they've got a
match.
But now that they've been ableto expand a bit more and are
booking them properly, I'm okaywith them being separated.
Sure.
But All right.
(31:31):
Cope and Christian Cage takingon Chris Kip Sabian and Kill
Switch.
Yes, it should have been NickWayne, but Nick Wayne D did come
down with an injury.
Uh, broken foot now beingreplaced by Til Switch, or as I
will forever call him, he's LuSource.
Yep.
And congrats for him to beingable to come back after being
(31:53):
away for almost a year withdouble pneumonia in both of his
lungs.
Yeah.
No, dude, I am so happy that hewas able to come back.
It, it really did.
Like I didn't think he wasgonna, I didn't think he was
gonna come back.
Did think he was gonna comeback, uh, anytime soon.
Not, not as quickly as he did.
So the fact that he was able tobe at that, thank you Jesus.
(32:16):
Uh, but this really just goingback and forth with the, the,
the patriarchy kind of turningtheir back on Christian cage
after their loss on all in, uh,coping, being able to make the
save once, uh, the beat downstarted and FTR got involved
more recently, uh, post.
(32:38):
The strict, uh, the Cope andStokely match.
Once that Beatdown happened oncope, Christian kind of
returning the favor of, I'mgonna play Captain Save, bro.
Mm-hmm.
Come save you.
Not happy about it, but he stillhave saved him.
Uh, them finally giving eachother the embrace instead of go
(33:01):
yourself or go find yourself.
Uh.
Now we, after, I think it's beenabout 11 years plus since we've
seen them as a TAG team, I thinkit's uh, 14, been 14 years since
we've seen them as a tag andfirst time since 2011.
I'm really excited for thismatch.
For anybody that doesn't knowwhat COPE and Christian can do
(33:25):
as a TAG team, please, please goand educate yourselves.
They are probably one of themost decorated TAG teams.
In all of tag team history, Ithink they're behind only the
Dudley's and Harvey's, like Isaid, one of the most, and mind
you that's saying something, considering neither one of them
(33:46):
has really held TAG team gold,at least together outside of the
slash wwe.
True.
Think about it.
You're, you're talking.
You know the Hardee's who haveheld Ring of Honor Tag Gold, TNA
Tag Gold, triple A Tag Gold likethey've held tag gold all over
(34:09):
the world.
You're talking the Ws.
W-C-W-E-C-W-T-N-A.
Wwe.
Wwe.
New Japan.
New Japan, like decorated TAGteams.
They've, they are probably, ifyou are talking Mount Rushmore
of TAG teams.
(34:30):
Edging Christian are on thatMount Rushmore.
If you're talking teams thathelp revolutionize and
popularize tag team wrestling, you're not getting a name
outside of Edging Christian.
And if you are having thesediscussions and not including Ed
and Christian or Adam Copelandand Christian mm-hmm.
(34:52):
You don't know wrestling?
No.
No.
You don't know.
They are definitely a very vitallich pin in the history of
professional wrestling.
It's, and I am loving, again, mychildhood, kind of mm-hmm.
Brought back to life here.
Just provide just a little, justenough to make me want to pay
attention to a EW on a moreconsistent basis, uh, going
(35:17):
into.
Uh, our predictions.
You and I seem to have forgottenthis going into the show.
Oops.
We can give ours live as soon asI read off Cauldron's flashes
and Twisted'cause everybodythere is on the same page.
It's gonna Adam and ChristianCage and you know what?
(35:39):
I'm gonna kind of side withthat.
I'm, I'm siding with that aswell.
All right.
So a unanimous front, AdamCopeland and Christian Cage to
pick up the dub today.
One, they have the experience asa team.
Do I feel like tempers mightstill be a little touchy
considering they've been at eachother's throats for a little
while now?
(36:01):
Yes.
But do I see them kind ofovercoming that due to their
long history as a tag team?
Due to the fact that they knoweach other so well that they are
so close in and outside of thering.
Yes.
Experience is going to be a keyfactor in this match.
And like I said, there is verylittle tag teams with as much
(36:26):
experience together.
Yeah.
And then cope and.
Christian cake.
Oh yeah.
You're not gonna sit there andmatch up.
The experience factor on thatone.
And kind of like we touched on alittle bit before with All Out
happening in Toronto, give themthe win, give them the momentum.
Have them built up to when theyeventually take on FTR.
I mean, it's gonna be as simpleas that.
(36:46):
No, that's going to be.
Explosive.
It's gonna be great.
Alright, so moving into the nextmatch.
We have the TBS Championship ata fatal four-way.
Uh, the current champion ofeverything in the universe right
now.
Mercedes, Monet, uh, taking on aW's.
Alex Windsor, uh, CML L's,Persephone and Boz from New
(37:06):
Japan.
Uh, this is gonna be a prettyinteresting match.
I mean, uh, Alex win, uh,Windsor.
Earned her spot by winning a,was it a triple threat match?
I think it was.
I believe so.
Yeah.
Triple threat match earned herway into that spot.
Uh, CMML announced Persephonewas gonna take part in it.
Then New Japan just announcedilla.
They didn't really say why theyput him in there.
(37:27):
They were just like, Hey, we'reputting him in a NIPS match.
But this should be a veryentertaining match, especially
with the contrast aisles.
And if people have not seen illayet, oh, they are in for a
shoot.
I will.
I will say I am very.
Unfamiliar.
It was a fatal four way fatal.
Four way.
Okay.
Because it was Alex WinDor,Billy starch, queen Ata and sky
blue.
That's right.
Um, I will say I'm veryunfamiliar with Mozilla's work,
(37:52):
so I'm looking forward to this.
Yeah, it's gonna be a greatcontrast in styles.
Um, a lot of good in room work.
I mean, and say what you wantabout Mercedes Monet, she does
deliver on a big stage when itcomes to matches and stuff like
that.
Yeah, but it's the.
I am pretty much booked to wineverything.
Oh, I know, I know.
(38:13):
That's why we're gonna, this is,is a, again, this is another
example of anybody but you.
Mm-hmm.
'cause for the love of God,anybody but Mercedes.
Well, going into some of thepredictions right here,
unfortunately, you, me and, uh,flash are all on the Mon Monet
(38:34):
train.
Because we'll get into that in amoment.
Um, we have, um, twisted goingwith Persephone.
Duh.
I think that's,'cause that nameholds a really special place in
her heart.
Okay.
Right now.
Right.
And we're just gonna, we'regonna go with that.
We're gonna go with, andCauldron is going with Alex
(38:55):
Windsor.
I think, uh, cauldron is kind oflike anybody but Monet at this
point.
I, I, I think so too.
Which is perfectly fine with me'cause anybody but Monet.
Yeah.
We're noticing a theme with thewomen's champions in aaw.
Anybody but this person, anybodybut the champion.
Yeah.
And, but unfortunately I justdon't see them because also when
(39:15):
was the last time she reallydefended that TBS title?
Uh, I think the last time shedefended it was against, was it
Ann Harley Cameron?
Probably, I think it was againstHarley because then there was
the, uh, the women's tournamentto sit there and, uh, the, uh,
queen, the Owen Hart tournament.
And she did defend the titlethere, and then she ended up
earning the spot to go it to allin.
And that's my thing is what, outside of giving her almost
(39:39):
every title in almost everycompany.
What have they really done withher champion?
No, they haven't done anythingreally.
Give somebody else anopportunity.
Somebody that we're gonna see alittle more frequently that's
gonna be able to do somethingwith that, uh, TBS title.
You've done a great job inelevating it by name, but not by
performance.
No, I agree.
But unfortunately, um, untilthey build somebody else up,
(40:02):
which they're not capable of, ormaybe hopefully Sky blue or Stat
Lander comes back intoaccidentally, I would've loved
for Sky Blue to be.
In this match.
Yeah.
Instead of Alex WinDor, nodisrespect.
Or even maybe a former championknown as uh, Julia Hart.
Julia Hart.
Because like she's so over withthe crowd and she did a really
(40:26):
good job that first time around.
I wouldn't mind seeing it again.
I wouldn't mind either.
Or maybe even a will aNightingale putting in this
matches.
Yes.
Oh my God.
Somebody acknowledged the factthat Willow has been such a
workhorse.
Yeah.
Give her some damn love.
My God.
(40:48):
Well, moving into next match, why don't you bring us something
to you next match.
Ooh.
Ooh.
Match you and I were talkingabout on the way up here to
record hangman Adam Page defendshis newly wound.
A EW.
World title against M-J-F-M-J-Ftechnically wound this
(41:15):
opportunity by winning thecasino gauntlet.
Back it all in.
However, he's been a, afterweeks of attacks on hangman and
messing with hangman, hangman, finally like, dude, if you and
you know, and hangman tellinghim, if you want this title,
you're gonna have to cash inthat contract.
(41:37):
If you want this title, you'regonna have to cash in that
contract.
Mm-hmm.
MJF being the ultimate heel thathe is.
Because he is the ultimate heel.
He is right now, uh, after himand Rico, she kidnapped Mark
Briscoe and kind of manipulatinga lot of this in his favor.
(42:00):
You're gonna agree to my terms.
I will burn this man alive ifyou do not agree to agree to my
terms.
I don't have to use my contractbeing one of those terms
Champion's advantage.
Thrown out the window.
Yep.
Dqs, g dq and count out will nowcount for the title change,
(42:21):
which is going to be fun.
It is.
And'cause it's not something yousee very often.
I, I'm thinking, going into ourpredictions and what is going to
be a surefire hard hitting, hitting match, you, me.
Cauldron, go hangman, twistedflash.
(42:45):
MJF.
Now do I.
Me predicting that he wins thismatch doesn't mean I don't see
him.
Me predicting a hangman walk, winning the match.
Doesn't mean I don't still seeMJF walking out his ship.
No, I see where you're goingwith that one right there.
Because MJF very easily couldlose this match.
(43:08):
Hangman's still so beat up andthen MJ F signs the contract.
Another match comes right after.
There we go.
Ref's still in the ring postmatch.
Rick Oche will probably getinvolved.
Let's be real post match.
MJF with the help of ricochet, beat down Hing man, just a
(43:28):
little more expending whateverlittle bit of energy he would
have had left MJF not as fresh, but also not as beat down.
Yeah.
And in these types of matches,in this type of environment, it
does also'cause the fact that hestill has that contract in his
back pocket.
Oh, yeah.
(43:48):
Well, all, he basically can havetwo title matches in one night.
He can, he can, and, but thistype of environment is more.
Hangman style.
We've seen how Hangman works inthe No dq.
Well, it's actually not a no dq.
It's not a no DQ mess, butstill, but it's still that type
of wild unhinged environmentthat Hangman can sit there and
(44:09):
find himself into.
And I just don't see them takingthe title off of him this soon
after put after the rocket, theystrapped onto him, dude.
And honestly, like this versionof Hangman is probably the best
version of Hangman.
We've had in a while.
I want to see what they do withthis.
Right.
I see.
I Is it only his second reign?
Please let it mean somethingwith this new persona.
(44:31):
I agree.
I agree.
And then what's probably gonnaclose out the show if this
doesn't mean an event and closeout the show, you kind of booked
this ma, this card wrong.
No, but there's a reason why Isay this match might not, this
next man is going to be the onethat kind of closes out because
the.
Lights out, steel cage match.
(44:53):
Now, usually when they have thenet lights out match, that means
it's unsanctioned.
Unsanctioned matches at a EWusually are the ones that take
place after all the carthappens.
That's where I'm kind of sayingthat this is probably gonna
close out the show, but on oneside you're gonna have Darby
Allen.
Osprey Kane Hashi and the GoldenLovers versus the Death Riders,
the Young Bucks and Gabe Kid.
(45:16):
Now we got here in a lot ofdifferent ways.
A lot of things happened to sitthere and kind of put this match
into play, we had the deathriders, you know, beaten down.
Um, I forget who it was that,uh, it was an appointed Moxley
had that.
Then after the Match, Moxley andthe death riders were just
beating the crap out of him.
Out comes Darby to make thesave.
(45:36):
And Darby, Darby Bean Darby, youknow?
Yeah.
And trying to get, uh, a gluttonfor punishment.
A glutton for punishment is anunderstatement.
Um, but then he comes out, helpsdo some of the beat down the
bucks.
Then some make their way into itbecause the death rider in the
Bucks are now kind of all buddybuddy.
Very loose alliance, very, veryloose alliance especially.
(45:57):
Um, I'm gonna, I'm gonna, I'mgonna quote WWE for this one in
your women's tag team Champions.
They're not friends.
They're allies of convenience.
Agreed.
I agree with that one.
And so, because the books are init, well, that's where the
golden lovers kind of come intoplay.
They're like, uh, hold on asecond guys, how you doing?
(46:17):
And then last but not least, getting ton of Hashi as the last
mystery opponent for them andjust the reaction.
From the Death Riders and fromthe Bucks was just pure, you
know, gold on that one.
And, you know, twisted evenbrought together that, uh, she
loved how this whole match, uh,started to come together.
Her favorite part also wasfinding out, um, that TV was
(46:39):
mocks finding out that teen a EWgot Tona Hashi because Mocks
hasn't really been able to getthe best of Tonah Hashi in any
company that he's ever worked,uh, worked in.
That is.
Valid.
Yeah.
And so this match is just gonnabe pure chaos.
It is going to be belts bell.
You're gonna moxley.
Iss probably gonna bleed beforehe goes in the ring.
(47:02):
I can at least see him making itto the ring.
Okay, fine.
And then he bangs his headagainst the steel cage as he's
entering it and there's hisbusted open spot.
But he's definitely gonna be thefirst bleeder That's real.
He's gonna be the first bleeder.
Right.
And so I'm excited.
This is gonna be pure chaos.
This is gonna be, you know, typical a EW blood and guts type
(47:22):
of match that they've been knownfor over the last several years,
or ever since the inception ofthe company because they wanted
to make themselves a little bitdifferent because, well, let's
face it, WWE doesn't really doall that blood and guts types of
match.
No, rightfully so.
Because sometimes you wanna say,but let's be real.
Blood And Guts was just theiranswer to war games.
Yeah, it was.
They just couldn't take, havethe name.
No, they couldn't.
(47:43):
Uh, but going into thepredictions, uh, it looks like
Flash and Ma Yep.
Myself, we are going Deathriders baby.
Everybody else is going team.
A EW.
Uh, so pyro.
Why are we going a EW here?
Uh, again, they're the wholestory behind, you know, my mock
(48:06):
losing the title and whatever itis, you, they're not team a w
trying not to let them hold thiscompany hostage.
You've already started kind of,uh, this is that you've made it,
you started making that work.
Bucks without the EVP Powersdeath rider, without the title.
(48:29):
You're just, I think it's, uh,it's, it is gonna be a slow
breakdown for the death writersand the books before you build
them back up because at, atthis, at that point, if you're
just gonna put'em right backinto a momentum, uh, swing
upward.
Mm-hmm.
What was the point in havingOxley lose the world title?
(48:51):
What was the point in having theBucks lose that ev ev that match
for, uh, EVP control?
You know, like.
True.
I see it.
I see where you're going withthis, but in my estimation, the
best thing for A is to try tosit there and get a little bit
more shine back onto the deathriders and a little bit onto the
bucks.
Because in order for you to havea baby face, you need solid,
(49:13):
credible heels.
I mean, these.
Win or lose, they, they're allgonna be the death riders and
the bucks are solid, crediblefuel.
But then that's two pay-per-viewin a row that the death riders
and Bucks lost in separatematches and everything else like
that.
You don't wanna sit there, havea pigeon hole like that.
Don't think, I don't, I don'tthink it loses them any real
credibility.
'cause even after they've lostthe matches, their matches at
(49:37):
all in you saw they were still, you know, coming up doing what
they do, beating people up.
Wanting back, trying to takeback that control.
Yeah.
I just think you gotta, yougotta break'em down before you
can give'em that chance toregain that fair.
I can, I, I see that like, like, like they, they say that there's
(49:59):
nothing worse, worse or scarierthan a man with nothing to lose.
There's still a lot to lose forthe death riders and for the
books before they are put intothat.
I'm backed into a cornerposition now.
Now with nothing to lose, I'mgoing to become even more so
(50:20):
unhinged.
I'm going to turn up my level ofchaos.
Okay.
But I, I do also see a, the wildcard in this match with Gabe
Kid.
Gabe Kid is gonna sit there andbe able to bring something a
little bit more to the tablethat the death riders, uh, have
been kind of needing over thelast couple of months actually.
And so he is gonna be a nice bigX factor and I think he's gonna
(50:41):
be the one that kind of helpsneutralize Tanah Hashi a little
bit just because of their newJapan connection.
Yeah.
Yeah.
I feel like that's a very, verysolid, uh, statement.
But as always, this a w show, even though it's, you know,
quite a bit of matches that wehave on there, you know, they're
gonna be able to deliver.
Let's just hope that they keepthe car match times to less than
five hours this time.
(51:03):
I was gonna say, I would saythis is.
Not as bloated a card as we'reused to.
No.
So I'm happy about that.
But with that being said, Ithink that brings us through the
match card.
It does all of our predictionsfor AOWs forbid door.
Um, so with that being said, wehope you guys enjoy the show,
(51:26):
um, and we will be back later onwith the recap.
Sounds good.
I like it.
