(00:22):
What's up y'all?
It is Brother Pyro and we arebringing you a very special
episode, first episode of our,uh, sister podcast, uh, or our
spinoff wrestling crossroadsLand in Sea, where we will be
covering AAA, CMLL and stardom.
(00:49):
Joining me for our first episodeand my co-host for our spinoff
DeRio.
What is going on?
It's about time.
We've only been talking aboutdoing this for a couple of years
now.
The stars have finally alignedto get it done, sir.
I agree.
I mean, especially with prowrestling in the state that is
(01:11):
in right now where you can getit in so many different, uh,
mediums and be able to enjoy itso much, and with the topnotch
quality that's coming out of allthese promotions nowadays, I
think now was probably theperfect time to get it.
I agree.
So, Mr.
Desario?
Yes.
First episode.
Of the new podcast.
How you feeling?
I'm feeling great.
(01:32):
I'm feeling really good abouteverything.
Excited to sit there and, uh,bring out, uh, some more
promotions that a lot of peoplemay not be paying attention to,
especially in the United Statesright now.
That's the main thing that's,that is that is why we are
landing sea.
'cause we are coveringeverywhere across the globe.
Yeah.
Nobody else is really touchingthese promotions.
It's only right that we sitthere and get it on the ground
floor running.
(01:52):
Especially with so many excitingthings happening.
Right, because like if you thinkof like some of the bigger name
pods.
Uh, or like radio shows thatcome out of like, you know,
Sirius xm.
Mm-hmm.
The, the Sam Roberts podcast.
Stephanie McMahon's podcast.
Our favorite.
Busted open.
Busted open.
Ain't nobody covered any ofthese international shows.
(02:14):
No, they are not.
So I'm glad we get to do, give,uh, wrestling fans something new
and something to look forwardto.
So how about you bring, youstart us off.
Uh, one.
What do you think is gonna openthe mat, the, the show?
Well, it, I think what mightopen the show just to kind of
get a lot of people out there tointroduce them.
(02:36):
I think we're gonna be gettingthe, uh, Copa Bar Doll match to
start everything off with Jesus.
Now, if anybody is not familiarwith Copa Bardo, it is a unique
twist on a Royal Rumble match.
He filled me in on.
There's like 15 minutes beforewe went live, y'all.
I mean, and they are going forperhaps the greatest prize in
(02:56):
professional wrestling, theBardal Cup.
What is the Bar Doll Cup you mayask?
Bardal is an oil company.
That sponsor is a sponsor foraaa, and in their contract, they
have a stipulation where theyhave to have a match every year
for Bardal, and they've turnedit into the Bardal Cup.
Now, if you win that Bardal cup, what do you get?
A trophy.
(03:16):
That's it.
Just a trophy.
Trophy and bragging rights thatyou did it.
I feel like we were talking andI feel that they need to have
like a title match stipulationor something, really make it
mean something.
Other than the, uh, how did youcall it?
The motor oil cup?
Yep.
The motor oil cup.
That's basically in a nutshellwhat it is.
(03:36):
And you know what, who knowswith this being kind of a new
beginning for aaa, with theirpartnership with WWE and TKO,
maybe they come out withsomething afterwards and said,
winner of this match gets afuture, you know, either LA
Latin Championship match orWorld, or make a championship
match.
I mean, who knows?
They might come out and saythat, but as of right now, it's
the mortar oil cup.
Um, we don't know who theparticipants are just yet,
(03:58):
though.
All right, but like, given theroster mm-hmm.
Who, who do you, who are somenames you can see in it?
Well, and possibly winning?
Uh, so off the top of my head,Loredo kid, I would, I would
love to see Loredo kid actually.
Yeah.
I mean, he's contracted to theTriple A.
He's contacted the TNA.
(04:19):
He's got all the inner workingsto sit there and be with that,
you know, promotion and be aface out there for people to be
able to latch onto.
He really.
A solid international star, andI can see that being a really
good pick.
I think somebody else that Ihaven't seen much, uh, I haven't
really seen him on the card.
Mm-hmm.
So I'm hoping he's part of this.
What about it got like Octagon?
Yeah.
Octagon.
(04:39):
I see.
Being in this match as well.
Especially since they didfeature him on, uh, king of the
Ring, uh, right after they didthe, uh, world's collide.
Pay-per-view.
Oh, money in the bank.
Money in the bank.
Thank you.
Oh, money in the bank.
Not king of the ring.
Knocking king of the ring.
I'm mixing the two up.
You're good, you're good.
But yeah, I mean they, they put'em out there on money, the bank
and so.
They got faith in him.
They got faith in that guy.
Um, another guy that you canprobably see, maybe WWE sits
(05:02):
there, bring somebody down fromthe main roster.
The LWO guys.
I wouldn't mind to give themsomething'cause like.
Ray's injured, they separated.
Selena Dragon Lee's the only onethat's got anything really going
for him right now.
Mm-hmm.
Give some love to Cruz and, uh,Joaquin.
Yeah, I mean, please give somelove to them like they are
actually a phenomenal young tagteam and they have not gotten
(05:26):
the chance in the spotlight thatthey deserve.
No.
The only chance they've gotten, which was recently with their
tag team title Match AgainstJudgment Day, which was, uh,
ruined by the Americanos.
Um, but another guy that canalso bring in why not Santos
Escobar.
He's not doing anything.
And also Los Garza's already onthe card anyways.
Right.
Speaking of them being on thecard, I'm gonna transition to
(05:47):
our next match.
Sure.
Street fight for the AAA tagtitles held by Los Garza, Berto
and Angel.
Really happy that they won thatback at their last show.
Yes.
Uh, I think it's, I think it's anice uplifting for the company
and I think WWE e doing what aEW did when they first started
(06:07):
their partnership with.
New Japan.
Mm-hmm.
Bring all these guys onto, or atleast all their big name guys
onto our show, so that way thesefans that wouldn't necessarily
be familiar with the producthave a reason to go back and
look.
Yeah.
Absolutely.
Have a reason to go back andwatch.
They weren't giving, uh, loadsGarzas really money
opportunities in the TAGdivision, and I think it's
(06:31):
criminal.
Mm-hmm.
But now with, you know, the WWEE TAG Team championship or the
World Tag team, champ ships.
This, I think is the best way toone.
What is what?
Like where do these titles comefrom?
Now I'm going back, I'm looking,I'm familiarizing myself with
product I wouldn't have normallypaid attention to.
(06:52):
Um, and they take on circusMaxima.
Oh yeah.
It's what, uh, psycho Clown andAno.
Thank you.
I, I don't know why my.
Dispatch is actually gonna be alot of fun.
Especially'cause since it isAAA's big show, we're not, I
(07:14):
don't think they're gonna slowit down really.
No.
It's not gonna be one of thoseslower paced buildup kind of
street fights like we're usedto.
Mm-hmm.
It's gonna be from the word go,just boom, boom, boom.
Everybody's firing on allcylinders.
We're, we're gonna do what wecan to, you know, really beat
the hell out of each other, butalso put on a good show.
(07:37):
Um, and seeing is it's just you, myself, and twisted, uh, who,
uh, gave predictions.
I know you said you wanted, uh,Los Garza, you had Los Garza
Twisted, had Los Garza.
I'm going C Maximo.
No, I'm actually gonna sidewith, uh, I'm gonna side with
(07:58):
you guys and go Los Garza aswell.
Like I think again, this is areal good way to test if you
can.
You know, maybe put'em on thebigger stage that is WWE and
make them the face of your, yourtag division.
Really good test here.
Plus they have the roots thereto really like, justify why
(08:19):
they're champions.
I, I, because think about it,they've all started Santos, uh,
angel, angel and Berto all havefamily ties and, and, or.
At one point were part of thepromotion themselves.
Absolutely.
And with them notice, so it'snot like, it's not like they're
(08:42):
outsiders.
No, they're not coming in forthe, they have their roots very
solidly planted in Mexico rightthere.
And also notice how once theywon those, uh, AAA titles.
The whole dissension and breakupof, uh, legato kind of went
away.
Yeah.
Honestly, I think that juststemmed from them being
frustrated, not gettingopportunities, not seeing many
(09:04):
wins, you know, not havinganything tangible for their
careers in the moment, becausefrustration is gonna lead to a
lot of, a lot of stress andfighting.
And like, think about it, youhave siblings.
Mm-hmm.
When you guys were stressed outtogether, tell me.
And you could correct me if I'mwrong, there were little petty
(09:26):
squabbles here and there.
Oh yeah.
While you guys were stressedout.
You know, I don't know how closeyou guys are in in age
specifically.
I was gonna say likerelationship wise, but like in
age, I know me and my oldestnephew, we fight more like
siblings, but we were only threeyears apart.
So like, I'm in my senior yearof high school, he's in his
freshman year.
(09:46):
We're getting, we're bothgetting ready for our finals.
And we're, we're stressed out,so we're going at it just'cause
we have no out.
Uh, yep, I know and what, whatfrustration does sit there and
breed a lot of that type ofcontempt and things that go
along with it.
So I'm not surprised that theydropped that whole storyline
going on for SmackDown rightthere.
But, uh, this is gonna be areally banger of a match and
(10:06):
only the AAA style.
That can be where you're talkingabout frenetic from bell to
bell.
And that's gonna be awesome tokind of watch with all these
different guys.
I'm expecting a really goodshowing from Anos, considering
that this is his environment.
Oh, 100%.
Alright, go ahead and take usinto the next one.
Uh, the next match we got goingon is gonna be for the AAA Latin
American Championship, where wehave the champion El Messiahs
(10:28):
taking on EO del Wagner Jr.
Don't get, don't look at me forthe pronunciation.
Don't look.
You did that on purpose and youdon it and you know it.
I literally just taught you howto say the words properly.
I know, I know.
And I'm sorry about that.
But going back into the, howthis match kind of came about,
(10:51):
um, you had, uh, Wagner Jr.
Win a number one contendersmatch.
This was even before the lastaaa, uh, big show that they had
going on.
Um, and Elba.
He's held the title for quite awhile right now, and he's
actually had his last big match,uh, taking on Alberto El Patron
in a, uh, loser leaves townmatch, which Alberto lost.
So we no longer have El Patronor Del Rio for some of our WWE
(11:14):
fans out there, um, in thecompany, or do we, we don't
know.
I'm, I'm, this is a storyline ornot.
I'm, I'm really happy if wedon't have him considering one.
Let, let's, let's break him downreal quick.
Mm-hmm.
He wasn't all that great.
No.
On the ring.
He didn't connect with the fansno matter how they tried to spin
(11:34):
it.
The coolest thing about him wasRicardo Rodriguez.
Mm-hmm.
Was his, was his personalannouncer and his fancy ass
Rolls Royce.
That's true.
Otherwise, he was a veryforgettable, forgettable persona
inside the ring, over pushedbecause they wanted to try to
have their next big Latin starafter to try to replace Ray
Stereo.
(11:54):
You weren't, which you can'treplace Ray, you not replace.
You can maybe find aplaceholder, but you're never
gonna replace a guy like RayMysterio.
Mm-hmm.
And not only with Patron, andhonestly, quit trying to make
the next such and such the nextwhatever.
Oh yeah.
Be original, let them bethemselves.
Right.
And well, with the way wrestlingis now, I think we're kind of
(12:14):
going more into that.
They're being themselves now atthis point in time, as opposed
under to the Vince regime wherehe was always looking for his
next big white meat baby face orthe next top foreign heel.
Things along that.
Right.
Liking that, and that's a lotmore of an organic, but also
just.
Patrol comes with a lot ofoutside controversy and noise.
I was not gonna bring that up,but you, I'm, you're, I'm going
(12:35):
to just,'cause like if we'regonna talk about reasons in Ring
that we're okay with him notbeing around, he's not great for
business.
Nope.
On a, on an outside the ringlevel.
He's a liability.
He's a liability.
We were talking about championsbeing good in media.
Mm-hmm.
(12:55):
Or stars in general being goodin media.
'cause I think that's one of thethings that just come with the
territory of being a prowrestler.
Yes.
He's not one that you want inthe media.
Almost every time he's been inthe media, it's been for
something negative.
Mm-hmm.
The DV with, uh, sre mm-hmm.
DUIs up the wazoo.
(13:16):
Like that man has a track recordof not being the smartest.
Outside the ring and also notbeing very repentant for any of
his, uh, actions.
Well, exactly, but all right.
That side tangent over, let's.
Go back to talking about thismatch.
It's gonna be a great banger ofa match.
(13:36):
And actually we can also put alittle bit of history into this
match as well.
I was gonna say, go ahead and oobviously you broke down how we
got to the match, but Yep.
And so, 16 years ago during theone of AAA's, uh, triple mania
events, um, Wagner Junior'sfather took on Al Messiahs for
the AAA mega Championship.
Which Wagner Jr.
Ended up winning.
It's a match that a lot of AAAfans are still calling one of
(13:57):
the top five matches of all timeinside of that promotion.
So this is gonna be a reallygreat nod and a throwback to how
we got there.
I love that.
Almost every match though, youcan find some kind of history.
I love that.
I, uh, a lot of the company likeis so enriched in history and so
enriched in its family tiesmm-hmm.
That you can be like, I know wedidn't, we don't get to see it a
(14:19):
lot with like ww No, but like.
I'm gonna use Cody, ROS as,actually, as an example, dusty
never won the world title.
Mm-hmm.
Cody has, whereas like aaa, oh,my dad held this title.
I was able to hold this title.
My uncle held this title, youknow?
Yep.
Going down from the generationto generation to generation on
(14:42):
where everybody's lineage andeverything comes from, and it's
like, you know, you're reallypart of the family if you sit
there and take care of that.
Um, so going into thepredictions, um, I'm personally
going with.
Messiahs, I, I'm going messiahson this one.
I love.
Uh, Bogner Jr.
But he's been in the company fora little while right now, and he
hasn't seemed to really gottenthat hero welcome, hero status.
(15:05):
He can't seem to get above acertain level, and even though
Messiahs has kind of slowed downin the rink, considering he's
been around forever now, I mean,he was in Lucia underground as
No, he's, no, he was Mil mortes.
That's what it, how did I say?
I, I don't know.
Well, but yeah, I.
I miss Flu Underground.
(15:25):
So do I.
So do I.
Um, see, and myself and Twisteddefinitely went, uh, Wagner
Junior.
I know you were, you're saying,you know, he's been around for a
while and he can't seem to likereally break through.
This might be the opportunityfor him to do so.
It might be.
I mean, and who knows if thefan, but like, here's the other
part too.
Who knows if the fans are gonnajump on board with that?
(15:45):
That's fair.
You always gotta pay attentionto how the fans react to.
Everything.
You and I talk about that quiteoften.
All right, we're jumping into athree-way for the S
championship.
Fabi, Apache, Flammer, andNatalia all going at it to be
(16:11):
crowned women's champion, essentially pretty too much.
Um.
I know you were breaking it down'cause I don't remember how.
Uh, Natalia got involved.
So flas Flammer has been thechampion for quite a while now.
She actually defended, uh, thetitle last year against Fabi,
uh, beating Fabi and Fabi hasn'treally been seen quite since.
(16:32):
Uh, during one of the lastcouple of sets of TV tapings.
Natalia has kind of showed up,said she wanted to compete at
best, and then Fabi kind of cameback right around the same time.
Who knows if Nataliaspecifically asked to work with
her?
It kind of seems like it becausethere's been a bunch of six
women tag matches.
Well those two have basicallybeen fighting against each other
and the other four women are bigignored.
But let's be honest, when itcomes to the AAA Women's
Division, it hasn't been allthat.
(16:55):
It's not all that spectacular.
No disrespect to the women andtheir talent and the hard work
that they put in.
Mm-hmm.
It just has no direction.
But it it, it's not anything toreally write home about like
strong women's divisions inwrestling.
I'm not gonna count stardom'cause it's an all women's
promotion.
Mm-hmm.
(17:15):
But like NXT seems to have theright idea on what to do with
their women's division.
Yeah.
Main rosters still have somehiccups, but they're doing
better.
They're doing better.
They're, they're hit and miss oncertain things.
A EW is getting better, butthey're still not great.
No, it's basically a two womanshow, but like, it's still
(17:37):
something a lot more tangiblethan, than triple A than what
they're doing in AAA right now, which is.
So I'm glad that they'rebringing in, like WW is bringing
in some of their people mm-hmm.
To really help elevate more ofthat product.
Yes.
Like Natalia Lola, who's gonnabe on the show a little bit
later on, on what that uh,they're, they can also bring in
Zeel at some point if they Iwould love that for Lina.
(17:59):
Actually.
I was just thinking about thatring.
Selena, you know, Stephanie Vikiwas part of World Collide.
I wouldn't mind seeing her backon.
Wouldn't mind seeing that backon.
I mean, it all depends howcertain, um, legal things pan
through, if you know what I meanwith that.
So what some of the threats thatwere made against her with
certain wrestlers in the past.
(18:19):
Yeah, that's fair.
Um, but like I wouldn't, um,speaking of Natalia though,
'cause I don't see her reallywinning this match.
No.
Personally, I think the, uh,title stays with Flammer.
Um, going into thosepredictions, I went flammer.
Uh, twisted with Natalia and I'mundecided.
(18:42):
And you're undecided.
You know what?
That makes a lot of sense.
Yeah.
And the reason why I'm undecidedis, uh, Flammer, I mean, while
not spectacular, she's proven tobe solid as the women's
champion.
You know what you're gonna give.
She's gonna be consistent on atime to time basis.
I don't think they're gonna giveit, I don't think they're gonna
pull a TNA though and give it toNatalia, the outsider.
Yeah.
But I wanna see the version ofNatalia in this match that we've
(19:03):
been getting on.
The blood sports shows'causeshe's been absolutely killer
dude.
I agree.
WWE needs to let her bring thatto TV and you know, it is, it's
interesting'cause I waslistening to her on busted open,
uh,'cause she now has a one hoursegment on one of the shows.
And, and, um, they were talkingto her and she's like, I've gone
(19:23):
to Triple H and said, Hey, isthere any way we can try to,
what can we do?
And he's like, well, where doyou see Natalia fitting in on
the show?
And she said she thought aboutit outside of a tag team.
She can't really picture whereshe fits in just yet, so that's
why she's going These otherpromotions, I, you know what I
love and appreciate that she,she understands like,'cause
Triple H talks about it all thetime when you have a roster as.
(19:46):
The good as big and as deep asyou, as WWE has it, finding a
spot for everyone on every show,on every card is just impossible
to do.
Mm-hmm.
So it's highlight the storiesthat are gonna bring me the
most, the most fan attention.
(20:07):
Yes.
Which I love that.
But sometimes you do kind of getthese guys that are forgotten
about.
Agreed.
Like Natalia probably one of themost solid, best women's
wrestlers in the entire country.
And I love that she's actuallybecoming a great mentor and you
know, her working with these AAAguys, if they're gonna keep
(20:27):
doing stuff with WWE e, they'regonna need some kind of guidance
on how to work the WWE e systemas well as their AAA system.
Mm-hmm.
I think Nael is a really good,uh.
Bridge for that.
Yeah, for the women.
Like a Natalia, if you were tosend, who else is a solid, uh,
mechan?
Mechan send out, like send outthese vet women that have been
(20:52):
there for a while and that's,you're not really using.
Right.
So like, as much as I hate tosay it, send, send an ijax to
like, show them how to.
Work that WWE system like shehas, she's really been kind of
floating in the air.
You know what, it also posesanother issue of not only is she
(21:14):
an outsider, but why not createa, a, a giant character.
That's true type thing for her.
Mm-hmm.
Because they don't, they don'treally have too many big, giant
characters.
Exactly.
Right now outside of, uh,hamburgers and even then, like,
not all that, he's not all thatbig.
Mm-hmm.
Exactly.
I wouldn't mind.
(21:34):
Like I know we, we were readingrumors, rumor Mill, you know,
Alma has been dormant for awhile.
Mm-hmm.
They're talking about possiblybringing him on the show.
That'd be great.
'cause like, as much as I lovethe lucha lucha style, you gotta
have construct, you gotta givehim some give, give somebody,
you know, that contrastingstyle, have them.
(21:58):
It is gonna be a good match.
That tower of a person Plus, Imean, and speaking of Oma, where
I may not have liked his styleall that much, different
audiences react differently.
Look what happened when he wentto pro wrestling, Noah, he got
over like mad because became achampion.
But think about it, in Japanagain, a lot of those roster
guys, like a lot of those peopleare, aren't built that big.
(22:20):
Yeah.
And Japan has always been knownto showcase that those foreign
talents that are big as these,as like how they should be as
giants.
Yep.
AAA, I think can really dosomething.
By going that route.
You know, Anaya, jacks and Omo,who also are some big guys that
(22:45):
we're not really seeing rightnow.
Off the top of my head, I can'tthink of two.
Well, bro, he's hurt right now, which I would've said Otis.
But Otis is hurt.
Otis is hurt right now.
Um, because they do, they wouldkind of fit that style.
I know they're wrapped in, in alot, but like they got, they can
really go.
(23:06):
And benefit from a Wyatt sixappearance in aaa.
Maybe, maybe like a one, especially with like a one, A
one-off or like short termstory.
Yeah, but like an Eric Rowan, massive man.
Yeah, he'd be great.
Yeah, Rowan would be great inthere.
But then moving into the nextmatch that we have going on
(23:26):
here, we have an IntergenderIntergender six person tag.
Uh, we have Lola Vice, Mr.
Iguana and Nino Heza versus theJudgment Days.
Finn Baller, JD McDonna, andRaquel.
Rod Rodriguez.
I think this is gonna be reallysolid actually.
Um, Ballor and McDonough.
(23:50):
Known for more the Europeanstyle ballor, the Japan style as
well.
None like you have one side.
That's not at all lucha prettymuch.
No, they are gonna bestraightforward.
I'm gonna hit you hard.
We're gonna prob they, but theycan fly if they need to, but
it's not their main predominantstyle.
(24:10):
They're just gonna come straighton the attack with everything.
And then on the other side, youhave.
Mr.
Iguana who has had the meteoricrise since Worlds collide, dude
has gotten.
So over so quickly.
Yeah, I mean, as, uh, we weretalking about before the
podcast, the last four triplemania that, uh, Mr.
(24:30):
Iguana has done.
He's been in the, uh, motor oilcup Battle Royal, the last, you
know, four years.
And now here he is beingfeatured prominently in a match
that just goes to show how wellhe was able to get himself over
with one appearance.
But also shout out to, uh,Lindsey Dorado for helping to
really solidify my as well, my,you know what, Lindsey Dorado,
who.
I wouldn't mind seeing back inthe WWE ring.
(24:51):
Right.
Because remember the last timewe saw him was a little house
party.
Um, but you know, there wasthat, there was, there's the
fact that like Lindsey DoradoYes.
Helped.
But once that match,'cause hehimself did it, they, they
started featuring him regularlyas a crowd staple.
(25:12):
Like if you look Yep.
He's been on raw in the crowd, but he's been on raw.
Mm-hmm.
He's gotten himself.
He got himself over and heprobably did the bare minimum to
do it.
True.
He did have a TAG team match onSmackDown not too long ago
against Los Garzo.
Yes, he did.
And then psycho clown.
And I love that I, again, whatwe were talking earlier, I love
(25:37):
that with this partnership,they're gonna.
They slowly wanna startinterjecting a lot of these, uh,
AAA guys and gals onto theirSmackDown and raw shows.
Mm-hmm.
Possibly NXT dude who doesn'tlove, like, iguanas great for
like the kid merchandising too.
(25:57):
Especially if you start sellingstuffed animals.
Yes.
The, the, the, the, the, thelizard.
Mm-hmm.
Which they will, it, it, it'd begreat.
Yeah.
You're gonna make so much moneyoff of him.
He's got the talent.
I just say.
Yep.
And then let's also talk aboutthe best part of this match too,
getting Lola license into thismatch as well.
She's getting some more repsoutside of NXT, getting some
more exposure.
(26:18):
She hasn't been getting a lot ofexposure on NXT.
No.
And she's been getting featuredpretty regularly on TNA, I mean,
not DN AAA over the last, uh,several weeks as well.
So she's really starting to finda footy to become a regular
character, to kind of get herfeet wet and keep everything up
developing for her as she isbecause.
She's got all the talents in theworld.
She just needs to figure out away to be consistent and get it
all put together.
(26:38):
This is the perfect spot, Ithink.
Oh, yeah.
Plus there's also more to thismatch involving level vice, as
you were telling me earlier.
Yeah.
So the.
Mr.
Iguana was a tag team, uh,intergender tag team champion
with La Herrera.
They've held the titles for alittle while and then Lola comes
into the picture and now she'skind of trying to steal Mr.
(26:59):
Iguana away from her.
Now it's, we're kind of gettingtowards the end of that story
right now, but that's how sheended up getting herself into
this match.
'cause La Herrera cannot befound for some strange reason,
but Lola's like, Hey, you need apartner?
I'm in.
Alright.
Going into the prediction.
So going into our predictions.
We have, well, sorry, we haveTwisted going with Mr.
(27:23):
Iguana.
Za and Lola, vice Pyro.
Who do you have going?
I'm going with, I'm, I'msticking with that too.
Uh, as much as we know, judgmentDay is gonna have something up
their sleeve.
'cause it's them the good heels.
There's the X factor of Roxanneon the outside.
Mm-hmm.
There's, I know he's featuredlater on the card and we'll get
to that.
Uh, but Dom is gonna be in thearena as well.
(27:46):
And that PAC mentality, butalso, again, we've seen the
pride that these AAA guys andgirls have.
Yes.
When it comes to protecting thebusiness, protecting their
business specifically.
Yeah.
I, I see that.
But for me, still, I gotta gojudgment day on this whole thing
right here.
I don't see them losing thismatch.
(28:06):
Um, I do.
I But the AAA guys, they'regonna get their shine.
They're gonna get everything.
'cause Finn and JD can makeanybody look like a million
bucks.
Oh my God.
But I just don't see JudgmentDay, especially with the TAG
team champions going into a, ohno, it's not gonna be, it's not
gonna be them that eat the pin.
It's gonna be Raquel.
Oh, maybe Raquel.
It's gonna be Raquel.
I don't see Raquel eating pinagainst Lola.
(28:28):
And here's other, here's theother interesting aspect with
this match that I'm trying tofigure out.
In aaa, whenever they do theseintergender matches, men can
take on the women and.
So forth.
But WWE typically doesn't dothat if a female tags in the
other female has to get inthere.
So I'm hoping they don't changethat aspect for this match,
because if Raquel can get inthere with the men, or Lola with
(28:49):
jd, dude, that would be amazingto kind of watch, dude.
So I'm like, let's hold forreal.
So WWE, ETKO, if you are hearingthis, please do not change that
aspect.
Them, let them let them.
Let these men and women actuallyduke it out.
The one part that's giving mehope that they will let the men
and women duke it out is a spotthat happened on SmackDown
(29:09):
yesterday where Candace Ray cameoff the top rope during the
street profits Deanna and hitthe, uh, hair on a Ford, on Ford
Duke.
That was beautiful.
Or let's, okay, another thingthat gives me hope for that.
Okay.
Bfab, Nikki Cross and CandaceLaRay all be somehow being
involved in that TLC match atSummer Center.
Agree.
A couple weeks ago.
(29:29):
I agree.
Yep.
And even though they didn't sitthere and touch the guys really
all that much, but it was, theygot to be involved in a match
that's not women heavy.
Yes.
And.
If we can maybe, you know, sharesome of that love with this six
person tag match tonight, I'dappreciate it.
But like I said, he would befeatured on the card later.
(29:49):
WWE e's intercontinentalchampion.
Dirty Dominic Mysteriorepresents the judgment date in
a fatal four-way for the tripleA mega championship involving
himself.
El Grande Americano version twoof four.
Uh, hold up.
No.
(30:10):
After I said what I said there'slike four ambassadors.
This Americano, he just trainedreally hard, hit a growth spurt
at the right time and slimmeddown quite a bit.
I mean, this is the same guywe've seen since the very
beginning, version 2 0 4.
Nah,'cause he's a lock mailertoo.
So he hasn't been hitting thesun.
Let's, let's be real.
He's not his TA either, butversion 2 0 4 of El Grande,
(30:34):
Americano, LWS Dragon Lee.
And your triple A mega championel?
Yes.
And do you remember how we gothere?
Uh, so I know the Kingo came outto, uh, kind of address the
crowd?
Yes.
It was interrupted by, I wannasay it was Dragon Lee first.
(30:55):
Mm-hmm.
They, you know, they talked itout and then Americano picks up
then.
Then Americano came out, hestarts running his mouth'cause
it's what he does best.
Mm-hmm.
And then as that seems to beconcluding, a masked figure came
in kind of.
Again, start talking.
Started a whole mess.
'cause there was a drawbackensued with this.
(31:17):
Mm-hmm.
Under that mass.
But dirty Dom, he wants to beknown as the greatest
intercontinental champion of alltime.
He also wants to be known asKing of the lucha.
Yes.
You know what, how do you dothat?
You win the AAA megachampionship right here.
Uh.
This match is going to be fun ashell to watch.
Oh, I'm, I'm here for it.
(31:39):
I'm here.
You have four absolutely amazingtalents.
Mm-hmm.
There's already chemistryamongst almost all of them.
The odd men out being El GrandeAmericano.
We'll see.
Let's be real.
He's a lot newer to them.
He is a lot newer to them.
But also, let's not forget andlet's not discount the amazing
(31:59):
reaction he's been getting fromthe Mexican crowd.
Oh my God.
They are loving this character,dude.
They're eating him up.
Like my nephew eats his cereallike it is beautiful to watch
'cause it is.
Through the sing along that heled with them.
Oh my God.
That the winner.
That was great.
And even in the parking lot ashe was trying to leave.
(32:19):
But, but yeah, no, like it is,it's gonna be a lot of fun to
watch four different styles oflucha.
'cause like, that's the otherpart that gets me is everybody
here is Lucha.
Yes.
Nobody has the same style oflucha present.
No, they do not.
I mean,'cause Dragon Lee is moreof a flyer.
(32:41):
Then you've got the kingo is ahybrid.
Dom is a little more on thetech, on the like brawler kind
of side.
Right.
He can fly when he needs to andwhen he wants to.
And it's funny'cause like we'vetalked about an interview that
he did where he's like, and if Ido this, you know, X like nine
(33:02):
times out of 10 or whatever.
Oh cool.
It's just another one.
But if I only do it that like.
One time that 10% out of ahundred matches, I do it maybe
10, 15 times you're gonnaremember it a lot more.
Mm-hmm.
And then you have, uh, El GrandeAmericano, who's more of a
technical wrestler, more of atechnical wrestler who can have
a little bit of a mean streak in'em from time to time.
(33:22):
But everybody has their ownunique style when it comes to
approaching lucha.
So seeing four contrasting luchastyles.
It is going to be fun to watch.
Uh, going into our predictions.
Twisted said the Kingo walks outand retains.
Yep.
I agree with, uh, vi Kingo.
(33:42):
I think Theo's gonna hold ontothe title, however, I could very
easily see them putting it onDom to put, I was gonna say my
prediction is gonna be dirty.
Do why one, give him somethingjust a little more tangible.
He, and again, it's not likehe's an outsider to the
business.
His dad wasn't, his dad was partof the first worlds collide.
(34:06):
Yes.
Like 30 odd years ago.
Yes.
So it's not like he's really anoutsider to the lucha business
either.
His dad, his uncle, you know, everybody.
If you were a Mysterio, you'rein the business.
You were in the business.
Eddie was part of it.
Who we think his real dad is.
That that, that it's his realdad.
(34:27):
He acts lot like him, but likeyou also have the presence of
the judgment day in the arenaand you know they're gonna get
involved.
True.
But also, let's take a look at.
El Grande as well.
'cause as we're talking about 20 4, there's, there's two more.
I was gonna, I was, oh, I wasgetting there.
I was like, you can also see, Idon't see him walking away with
(34:47):
it, but I can see theinterference really kind of
helping him gain momentum atsome point in this match.
You know more, I'm thinkingabout it too when we go back to
like be the motor oil cup.
If LWO is in that match, thenDragon Lee has backup as well.
The Kingo is the only one whodoesn't that backup.
And again, a lot of these AAAguys are gonna have pride.
(35:08):
So you know, there, there mightbe an emptying of the locker
room to just like kind ofbalance everything out.
Yeah.
We might see a fair four way, who's to say?
But again, I can see them one, giving Dom a little more
credibility to his career, showing a little more faith in
him in his career.
And I think this could also beif they have him or like a
(35:30):
Dragon Lee, win this match.
Now that title represented.
On raw.
Yeah.
You get to see it a lot moreoften.
People are going to be investedin what he's holding, what that
is.
Go back, watch product, watchmore aaa.
Now you're getting moreviewership for AAA and you can
justify that purchase.
(35:51):
That's a good point.
And honestly, Dom is one ofthose guys that we love to hate
and hate to love.
Because we've all, anybodythat's watch, been watching for
any period of time has gotten tosee him grow up.
Yes.
As a competitor in, well, notonly a competitor.
I mean, he literally grew up, Imean, they had custody for him
(36:13):
in a ladder match 20 years ago.
But that's my point.
We've got to watch him grow upas a kid and as a competitor.
Yes.
And I think this would be theright move.
And again, base his, hisarrogant attitude of Ab King of
the Luchadors, solidify that, yeah, he's going, he's either
(36:36):
going to get a lot of love orhe's gonna catch the utmost
heat.
And you can still build withthat.
And then who's to say, you know, you let'em hold it for a while.
Come say, survivor series.
That's a real big one.
It's taking place in California.
(36:56):
You can in, you can include someof the AAA guys.
You could guys for that.
Guess what?
Dom versus Akino or Dom versusOctagon or Dom versus Iguana or
whatever at Survivor series forthe mega championship.
You can, I can see that.
(37:16):
But another thing too is.
I, so the reason I'm going Vigois because I wanna sit there and
keep the belt on AAA guy, and ifyou're gonna be getting more
eyeballs, you can sit there andreally, really get build up.
Vigo and I know the Mexican fansare getting a little sick of
them.
He's turned heel because of itrecently.
Um, but the WWE e audience whohas seen him, every time he
(37:36):
shows up on the screen, they'restill loving him.
They, they cheer whenever theysee him on screen, run his
house.
And that's because we're, we'reslowly getting familiar with his
work.
So I, I can see them wanting tokeep the belt on him as the face
of the company and just to kindof keep it in there.
But, but you could also runlike, and again.
So Saddam does win or whatever.
They take the title off of theKingo.
(37:57):
Mm-hmm.
These three guys are on the mainroster in WWE E.
Yes.
This is how you maybe host onRoss series of tournaments or
whatever for match between Ron,Ron SmackDown take all mix in
the AAA guys, mixing guys fromthe roster, NXD, whatever.
And now you have a littlebracket.
(38:21):
To then really have an excuse tobring more of'em up and
familiarize even more.
Uh, that's true.
And you know, this is, thisright here is only the beginning
because like we stated at thevery beginning of this podcast,
this is a brand new start foraaa.
This is a, basically, not sayinga hard reset, but this is a new,
but it's a reset that they'veneeded.
They, they have,'cause they'vebeen going down a little bit
(38:42):
with some of the.
The characters they've beenhaving, and with some of the
storylines, now it's time to sitthere and really get a lot more
cohesiveness and to get somemore eyeballs and also get them
into the American audience, which is what Conan has been
trying to do with AAA for yearsnow.
And so I'm really lookingforward to seeing how all this
is gonna play out and wherewe're gonna be going from here
after this particular triplemania.
(39:03):
Oh yeah.
I'm excited for the next one.
So, and I think that brings usto the end of the card.
This does bring us to the end ofthe card.
So, Rio, any other, anythingelse you wanna say?
Um, no, I think we pretty muchcovered everything on, on here.
I just want everybody to sitthere and really take this event
in because the, if this is yourfirst experience with aaa, you
(39:25):
are not gonna be disappointed.
No, you're not.
Like, honestly, soak in this newfound show.
Soak in the new information.
Like don't watch it as a WWE Bguy or whatever.
Watch it.
Watch it for the sake of being awrestling fan.
Yeah, kill the tribalism.
Enjoy all wrestling.
(39:46):
Thank you.
And I think, and again, likeyou've said, this is something
new.
This is a new style for a lotof, a lot of American based
fans.
Please, please, please enjoy it.
Agreed.
All right, y'all, we are goingto head out.
We hope you guys enjoyed thisfirst episode of Wrestling
(40:06):
Crossroads Land and Sea.
We hope you enjoyed Triple Maniatonight and we will see you back
for the recap, meda.
