Producer, director, actor, and entrepreneur Tyler Perry has been interested in buying a majority stake in BET Network. Perry and Byron Allen seem to be in a "bidding war" for Paramount's BET Network, as Paramount looks for substantial partners to invest. Byron Allen is the founder of Entertainment Studios and CEO of Allen Media Group. Byron Allen is well known for various acquisitions... The Weather Channel and an equity stake in Sinclair Broadcast Group's acquisition of Fox Sports Networks. Paramount's plans to raise money and shed assets are to pay down debt and invest in their two-year-old streaming service, Paramount Plus+.
