Welcome to a new episode of Ye Olde Dragon's Library storytelling podcast!

Season 11 features a new scene every other day from an upcoming release.

This project isn't titled yet -- want to help come up with the title?

The working title is PENELOPE'S STORY, and relates how Penelope, cousin of Helen of Troy, met and married Odysseus, king of Ithaka, and hero of THE ODYSSEY. And more important, explores why she waited 20 years for him to come home from the Trojan War.

This book was previously released as THE DARK ONE, through LTD Books, and then THE DREAMER'S LOOM, from Amber Quill Press. It has been out of print for years, but is being re-titled and revised and re-released because of the popularity of EPIC: THE MUSICAL.

What is EPIC about? What else? THE ODYSSEY put to music, with animation. It's brilliant. Go check it out for yourself -- and then come back every other day for a new scene.

Eventually, this book will be released on Kindle and Kindle Unlimited, and then as a complete audiobook, and a deluxe edition hardcover, through Kickstarter.

YOU can be part of the process. Check The PENELOPE page at YeOldeDragonBooks.com for updates, to comment, and vote Maybe your name will appear in the Acknowledgements page, to thank you for your help!

Cardiac Cowboys

Cardiac Cowboys

The heart was always off-limits to surgeons. Cutting into it spelled instant death for the patient. That is, until a ragtag group of doctors scattered across the Midwest and Texas decided to throw out the rule book. Working in makeshift laboratories and home garages, using medical devices made from scavenged machine parts and beer tubes, these men and women invented the field of open heart surgery. Odds are, someone you know is alive because of them. So why has history left them behind? Presented by Chris Pine, CARDIAC COWBOYS tells the gripping true story behind the birth of heart surgery, and the young, Greatest Generation doctors who made it happen. For years, they competed and feuded, racing to be the first, the best, and the most prolific. Some appeared on the cover of Time Magazine, operated on kings and advised presidents. Others ended up disgraced, penniless, and convicted of felonies. Together, they ignited a revolution in medicine, and changed the world.
