We are exploring guest MinJu's journey to become more fluent in both Fluent Korean culture and language. As someone who grew up largely in Manila Philippines,  MinJu is keen to learn more about her South Korean roots and shares her research on her FluentKorean website. I learnt so much from our conversation from MinJu's experiences in International School, how learning about Korean culture helps her understand her parents and the terms that Koreans adopt from other languages. A highlight of the conversation is MinJu's research about Gisaeng (or Kisaeng), women who were enslaved sex workers and also very well educated. Who knew?!  This really inspires me to learn more about East and Southeast Asian history, something I learnt nothing about at school! How have you explored the culture and history of your Asian heritage?
