I am joined by actress Kanako Nakano who I discovered through White Pearl, a play about a fictional skin-whitening cosmetics company. In this episode we’re talking about colourism, the prejudice based on skintone usually with a preference for lighter skin. We share our Asian experiences of colourism and how I was encouraged to keep out of the sun so I don’t tan. What are your experiences with Asian beauty standards and colourism?
