Hello everybody, and welcomeback to the yellow shoes
Podcast. Today is Sunday, August11. As we're recording this,
we're going to try to get thisup for you as soon as possible.
So that may mean that editingmight not be perfect, or, you
know, there might be littlethings that we normally try to
get out that we might just keepin just to get this up ASAP. But
it is d 23 weekend right now,and we just got the biggest
(00:42):
amount of announcements that Iprobably could honestly think of
last night at the parks andexperiences horizons panel, I
guess you could call it.
And we just want to go througheverything with you guys today
and last night, we did tune into a live stream that somebody
put on YouTube. I don't know ifthat's Kosher or not, but plenty
(01:04):
of people were live streaming itso, but Disney was not. So we
ended up just turning it on,finding it, and watched it live
with everybody. And so we stayup to like, one o'clock in the
morning watching it, since we'rehere on East Coast time, and
wow, it honestly, I mean, wehave our thoughts about it, but
overall, I'm pretty content.
Yeah, I mean, I think they hadto come in and, like we were
(01:26):
saying beforehand, because weinitially weren't even planning
on watching it all, and then wejust couldn't find anything else
that we wanted to watch. So wewere like, You know what? We
might as well just like, seewhat's going on.
And based on last D 23 I didn'texpect them to, like, have
anything substantial toannounce, even though they
(01:46):
needed to. And I was really, honestly, like, we were both
talking about it, it's hard toimpress us at this point with
anything Disney. And I think weboth were pretty impressed.
Yeah. I mean, I will say, as Iwas actively watching it, I feel
like, well, reflecting on it.
Now, I think what theyannounced, like, I ended up
being content with at the end ofthe day, but as we were watching
it, I was like, okay, like, let's move this shit along.
(02:08):
Like, if you watched it, likelive for any reason, like, if
you have to watch it live, you'll know what we're talking
about. And even people who werethere were, like, saying the
same thing. So the whole like, bit, like, in the first, like,
75% of it was that they're like,it's a musical journey. And
literally, everybody, we're 45minutes in the live stream at
this point, and like, jack shithas happened. And I'm like,
(02:31):
okay, announced any Yeah, like, they literally the first like, I
think I didn't like, I haven't,like, looked at the timestamps,
but probably, honest to God, 45minutes plus into it, they
announced, literally nothing.
They're just singing and doingall, like, it's just like, oh my
god, okay, let's get this shitmoving. And I was like, this is
not gonna be good, becausethey're clearly like, stalling.
(02:52):
Yeah, they're stalling becausethey don't have anything to
announce. And honestly, I stillthink they were stalling because
they, I think too, for a lot ofthese things, then they ended up
just like, kind of cruisingthrough them because they don't
actually have that many details.
And they're just like, Okay, well, like, we're gonna rattle
these things off and then we'llkeep moving on to kind of like,
distract you from the fact thatwe really gave you no
(03:14):
information, but it'll satisfyyou, because we're gonna, like,
break into the song after right?
And honestly, I don't even knowwhat happened. Like, part of it,
I think, too, is, like, obviously people are live
streaming on their phones andthings like that. So audio is
not the best. Plus, you're inthis, like, big arena where
things are echoing. And, like, not everybody has the best
(03:35):
seats. Like, sound is off. Butlike, honestly, some of the
performers, I was like, thisstate, they were really bad.
Like, this is not good. Like, ohmy. Like, really bad. Were
really, really good, yeah. Buthonestly, I feel like war was
bad than good. And I was like, okay, like, Yeah, I think I
can't remember everybody, butI'm pretty sure, like, the only
people that were actually solidwere Megan, trainer, Rita Ora,
(03:56):
that one girl, I can't rememberher name, but she was really
good at the end. Like, she wasyounger.
Oh, she the Dead Pool girl. Ifelt bad too, because I feel
like her, like, whole, like, like Her singing was, like, kind
of, like overcast by the shtick, but like, she was a really good
singer. I have no clue she was,but like, I don't know. And
plus, it was hard because, like,we were watching it, like, on
(04:16):
like, somebody's recording. Solike, we couldn't, like, see the
performances as well. Like wewere more just, like, looking at
the screens the whole time, soif they weren't, like, zooming
in on them, but I don't know, Ijust feel like there's so many,
even like Pentatonix, like, didnot sound good. And like, like,
I mean, I'm not like, thebiggest Pentatonix fan in the
world, but like, I listen tothem during Christmas time, you
know what? I do my duediligence. I give them my you
(04:38):
know? Like, I give them whatthey need. Like, when it counts.
And I was like, Oh my God. Like, that was like, not good, but
that's besides the point. And Idon't know, but I just think the
whole, like, like, a lot of thesongs, like drug out. And I was
like, Okay, let's wrap this shitup. Okay, like, unnecessary.
That whole aspect of the wholething was completely
(04:58):
unnecessary. Yeah.
Yeah. But anyway, we have a lotto talk about, yeah, so we
should probably just get into itwithout me bitching too much.
But again, I feel like that wasmainly my biggest complaint with
it as a whole, was that, likethey were stalling, and, like,
some of the stuff, they didn'tgive us enough information, but
they're like, everybody justshut the fuck up and sit down.
(05:19):
Okay. And so the whole idea withall of this too, was that they
were like, these are not likeblue skies ideas. These are
things that are activelyhappening, that we are actively
breaking ground on, that weactually have in the works. So
technically, from what they'resaying, this should all actually
happen. But, you know, we'vealso been told shit before and
things not happen. So like, obviously, take anything Disney
(05:40):
says with a grain of salt,I'm speaking in all this, in the
re in the like, idea that it'sactually all gonna happen, yeah,
and I think I'm a little bitmore optimistic, because they've
fired well that in within thelast year, they're like, we're
dumping a ton the Money, basically guaranteed. So it's
like, okay, so I think themanpower behind it, right?
(06:03):
Gotcha. So we're gonna start offgrant has this all bullet
pointed for us. So I'm justgonna start from I'm not gonna,
like, go in a specific ordernecessarily. I'm just gonna go
in the order that he has thesewritten down. So Disney Cruise
Line. And obviously this isn'tnecessarily an order of it being
announced. I think, honestly, most Yes, like backwards, it's
(06:24):
just kind of hodgepodge. ButI think you did organize it by,
like, Disney World versusDisneyland versus I tried a
little bit, but it was mainlyhow I saw the summary articles
after the fact to try to makesure we didn't forget anything.
Yeah, so Disney Cruise Lineannounced that there will be
four new ships setting sail.
(06:45):
They're still in development, but those, those will be setting
sail from between 2027 and 2031this doesn't surprise me. That's
basically all the information wewere given. Yeah, nothing else
specific. We were trying to lookat the art, but it kind of like
yeah, all the ships looked thesame. It's kind of hard to tell,
but overall, I just pray to Godit's not the same layout as the
wish. That's all I want. That'sall I want is for to not be the
(07:07):
same fucking layout as the wishmy arch nemesis, okay? And
hoping, well, I'm figuring thatit's gonna be a totally
different design. Yeah, all fourof those ships will be the exact
same design. Yeah, exactly. Ithink they're all gonna reflect
each other and all be likesister ships. But I'm hoping to
God, that they take all thereviews from all the ships as a
whole and morph them together tocreate something everybody can
(07:30):
enjoy. Yeah, another thing theydid announce is that on the
Disney destiny, which we justgot tons of news about, like,
what, a week or two ago, that's the ship that's gonna be
like heroes and villains sort ofa thing. And you know, that
needs a toll on an episode of mehaving issues with that.
(07:51):
But one thing that they havedone, right, finally, they all
did announce that they are goingto have Hercules as a stage show
on the ship, which has beenneeded for years. Yeah, well,
I'm excited about that. I mean, technically, back in the day,
they did have a Hercules, themusical emphasis muse in the
(08:12):
beginning, Nicole,if you saw that, if you got the
honor to see that while it wason, it was literally my favorite
show. When I was a kid, I wasobsessed. And it was kind of
like them. It wasn't like justthe story of Hercules. There was
like other stuff. Like, it waslike a theater is putting on
Hercules. So it was kind of likemultiple layers to it. But this
is just gonna be like Hercules,um, so kind of like how Frozen
(08:34):
is on the ship and tangled. It'snot gonna be like a matrix
thing, if that makes any sense, kind of like the golden Mickeys
is and stuff like that. Andstuff like that. This is just
gonna be straight out Hercules.
So I am optimistically excitedabout it. I am a huge Hercules
fan in multiple ways. So that'sone thing I am looking forward
(08:54):
to me too. I mean, will I evergo on the Disney destiny?
Probably, but I won'tnecessarily be happy about it,
moving on, because that's cruiseline, okay, that's not the
that's like small potatoes. Andthe grand scheme of all this,
we're just gonna go right intoDisney World News. Since,
honestly, Disney World waspopping off, I'm shocked,
(09:16):
because I feel like Disney Worldat D 23 always gets like the
least amount of likeannouncements Well, or the most
amount, but, like, leastsubsequent, yeah, the last few
years it's been allinternational parks getting,
like, all the really cool stuff.
Yeah, I agree. I think nowthey're trying, finally trying
to put money into Disney World.
And kind of what grant you hadsaid was that they would have
(09:39):
put more out for Disneyland, butsince they are just now getting
all the permits and things likethat for that expansion, like,
that's my assumption, yeah, Idon't see, like, just not able
to happen quite yet, like, anyconcrete plans for anything,
because we all know the historybetween Disneyland and the City
of Anaheim, and like, thecommunity there, and like arch
nemesis, they all hate eachother. And, like.
(10:00):
But like they also can't livewithout each other, so it's kind
of like that's the only thingreason I can think of that
nearly as much it's the enemiesto lovers trope.
So I think they're stillfiguring all that out. So we do
have tons of announcements forDisney World. One thing that I'm
pretty sure nobody had on theirbingo card was a Monsters Inc
land is coming to HollywoodStudios. Now, tons of people
(10:23):
said, Oh, this idea of thelaugh, or like, the door room
coaster, has been a thing for along time. I personally never
heard about it, but I don'tknow. I also maybe don't play
too much into, like, a lot oftheories and like things people
(10:43):
have heard through thegrapevine, like, I mainly just
like, take on what is like, actually said by Disney
themselves. So I've never heardof this, but a lot of people
said they have. But constructionis to start in 2025 according to
Disney, and it's going to be thefirst suspended roller coaster
at Disney. And supposed to belike, you're going through the
Laugh Factory, and you're goingthrough where all the doors are,
and it's looks really, reallycool. And I'm so excited for
(11:05):
this. And it's Disney's firstsuspended roller coaster. And I
know growing up, like, thosewere my favorite type of
coaster. So this one, like, Ithink out of all the
announcements, is what I'm mostexcited about. Plus, like, we're
getting a whole land surroundingit, which will be really
exciting. And I don't know, I'mthrilled, because Monsters Inc
was one of my favorite movies asa kid. I think that was like the
first Pixar movie that I reallylike, fell in love with, because
(11:27):
Toy Story came out, the originalToy Story came out, and Toy
Story two, like, when I Well, the original Toy Story came out
before I was born, and then ToyStory two, I think, came out the
year I was born. So, like, Imean, obviously I'd seen those
and whatnot, butMonsters Inc came out when I
was, like, three, four yearsold, so that was like, prime
time for me to be watchingthings like that. And I really,
like, I looked like a lot likeBoo, and I was, like, told I
(11:50):
looked a lot like Boo as a kid.
So I think that, like, justreally stuck with me. And I just
loved Monsters Inc. And thenthey, like, never came out with
second one, but of course, nowthey have the Disney plus show,
which I think, like, did fairlywell. We tried to watch it. It
wasn't for us, not that it was, like, bad, but just like, wasn't
for us. But I am so excitedabout this, and the fact that
we're getting the whole land isexciting. I think the main
(12:10):
question on everybody's mind is,like, so what's gonna go at
Hollywood Studios? Yeah, andlike, Well, I think before we
talk about that is like, I thinkthe big reason that going to
Hollywood Studios is so painfulis that everything's a an E
ticket attraction andeverything, it's just the wait
(12:32):
times are very, very long. Sohonestly, the more attractions
the better. Yeah, I agree. So Ithink, because the thing is,
typically, as rides get older, like you, like less people want
to ride them. But that reallyhasn't been the case. I thought
it was you, because rock androller coaster and tire Ferris
still draw a ton of people, right? But then there's things
(12:54):
like Smugglers Run that's one ofthe newest rides in the park,
and even a year after it opened.
I mean, now we're Pat like, afew years later, but even a year
after open, 30 minute wait.
Like, it just doesn't, like, which part of it does have to do
with, like, how fast you'recycling through people, but it's
advanced Star Tours. Everybodylike, yeah, and I don't feel
(13:14):
like there's enough attractionsto still spread that crowd out.
I agree. And I think Didn't theysay one of the two attractions
is going to be like, gearedtowards kids, or am I just going
out? I think that's I don't knowif that's necessarily true, but
I'm assuming it will um, becausesince this coaster is going to
have a height requirement, I'monly going I would have to
(13:34):
assume that they're going to dosomething that's more family
friendly, that there's no heightrequirement for which I think is
much needed in HollywoodStudios. So I'm really anxious
to see what they have in storefor that. And I think it'll be
really, really cool, and I hopeit gets done efficiently. And my
I think a lot of people aretheorizing like, where is this
(13:56):
gonna go? A lot of people arelike, Muppets is gone. I
genuinely don't think they haveenough room for Muppets. I don't
either, and I say that mainlybecause, like, one time we were
evacuated off a rise theresistance, and we came out at
Muppet vision. So, like, I thinkpeople don't realize, like, the
rise of the resistance isbasically all in Muppet vision,
(14:18):
yeah, or all of them up at land.
And I think, and I know thatthey could relocate or build a
new one, but I think getting ridof one of the very few quick
service options at HollywoodStudios whenever you can go on
the other side of the park andget rid of launch bay, which is
just a warehouse and like someother filler attraction in that
(14:39):
cars show, yeah, more room overthere. Like, that makes so much
more sense. I really think it'sgonna go where launch bay is,
slash, like, I do there, that'swhat I really think where it's
gonna go. And people are like, well, they're not gonna get rid
of the Little Mermaid. Like, I'mnot saying they're getting rid
of Little Mermaid. I don't thinkthey're gonna get rid of Disney
Junior dance party. I don'tthink they're getting rid of the
Little Mermaid. I think they'regonna get rid of launch bay.
(15:00):
And further back, like, theyhave area back there and
warehouses and things of thatsort. That's personally where I
think it's gonna go, just spacewise, plus, like, I think we all
can admit at this point, like, why is Star Wars drug throughout
this damn Park? Like, let's packit up. Everybody. Like, let's
pack it up. Okay. I think launchbay was, like, after Disney
(15:23):
acquired Lucasfilm, they'relike, Oh, this is cool. And then
it just stuck around becausethey have nothing to, like, half
the shit in there, because theyused to have, like, displays in
there and stuff. I feel like alot of that's not even there
anymore, or it's just been thesame for years. So we haven't
been relevant at this point. Andhonestly, they have so many
little corridors and little crapin Galaxy's edge. If they want
(15:43):
to set up a formal Meet andGreet spots for anything, which
I don't know if they wouldagain, they can easily do that
over there with no problem. So,you know, that's not really a
relevant issue. So I don't Ipersonally think it's gonna go
back where launch bay is, but Iguess only time will tell. And
that's the whole thing is they, they're never gonna tell you
(16:04):
where shits gonna go, except forwhenever they discuss Indiana
Jones, which we'll get to later, because that was already a
given, that Daniel land was onthe chopping block. But they're
never gonna say it there, because then they're gonna get
rides in the streets. No matterwhat, no matter what, they're
gonna get rides in the streets, yeah, which is fine, yeah. And
I'm sure part of it too is someof them, they're not even 1,000%
on where things are gonna Yeah.
(16:25):
And the thing is, too, as soonas permits filer filed for this
shit, like it's gonna come out, like, not through Disney
themselves, but throughsomebody. So we'll find out
sooner rather than later. Ithink, yeah. And I'm just
hoping, because they're saying2025, for a lot of this, I'm
hoping instructions,instruction, right? So I'm
hoping that, based on the timeline that they
(16:47):
gave us for animal kingdom, thatwe'll see things starting to
open in like 2028 2029 Yeah. AndI'm a bit more hopeful for well,
like with Monsters, Inc, likethis roller coaster like that.
They're not necessarilydeveloping as much new
technology for as something likerise the resistance. So with
this, it's like, they're gonnaprobably buy a roller coaster
(17:10):
from a roller coaster builder.
You know what? I mean? It'sgonna be pretty straightforward,
and then it's just gonna be allthe like, pretty things that
they're gonna have to, like, right do. So I don't know.
Hopefully it'll go prettyquickly. I'm just curious if
they'll bring that like, Iforget what it's called, like,
hide and seek, whatever. I don'tknow what it is, but it's like a
(17:31):
monsters. Inc, ride where you, like, look for the monsters with
a flashlight. It's in one of theAsian parts. I'm curious if
they'll bring that there as,like, a, you know, a slower
ride. But also, we already haveToy Story mania in that same
park, so I don't know if they'lldo something similar or not, but
who knows. I'm just curious whatthe other attraction will be.
Because I think they said too, Ithink they did, but it's so hard
(17:52):
making that up. Yeah, it's sohard to keep track. But moving
on again, I don't want to spendtoo much time on any of these
things. We have so much to talkabout.
We are getting cars at MagicKingdom, which is another thing
I don't think anybody evenspeculated, not at all. I was
shook to my core, um,and so this is going to be as
(18:13):
part of the Beyond frontierland, or beyond reimagined
section of frontier, but I theyhaven't said anything. Where
else are you gonna put it? Iknow, like, even if, okay, a lot
of people are like, they'regonna close um, Tom Sawyer for
this and like, fill in part ofthe like, even if that's like,
(18:34):
that's my theory, yeah, that'sfine. But like, that's still
like, the beyond Big Thunder.
Let's like, let's be for real.
They probably weren't gonna, like, actually gonna keep Tom
Sawyer forever? No, yeah. Sothis is going to be interesting.
So there's gonna be twoattractions. One's gonna be
like, um, not the same ride, butlike, similar to radio Springs
(18:56):
Racers slash test track.
But the whole thing with all ofthis is it's not going to be
Radiator Springs at all. It'sgoing to be like them out and in
the west and like, you know, kind of like, um, the shorts
that they have on Disney. Plus, now I don't know what it's
(19:17):
called, but, um, it's not goingto be taking place in Radiator
Springs. So we are not gettingRadiator Springs at Magic
Kingdom. So Magic Kingdom, whichI understand that they don't
want to do play things. But alsowish you getting Raider springs
at Magic Kingdom, even if itwasn't the same rides in it. But
oh well, I'll take what I canget, and then one's going to be
a more kid center ride, which Ifeel like is just going to be
very similar to TomorrowlandSpeedway, except for, oh, hop
(19:39):
probably like something like, like the Luigi ride, or maybe
it's like a track. Okay, Ididn't, yeah, so construction
for that supposed to begin in2025
as well. And a lot of people arebutthurt because they're like,
well, that's not part of thefrontier, and there's cars, and
it's supposed to be.
(20:00):
Covered by which, okay, Iunderstand that completely. But
the thing is, none of youbitches were saying that
whatever they opened Tiana's. Soif you didn't give a shit about
them bringing Tiana into thefrontier,
don't say shit now, okay, yeah,and I'm a Tiana stand, so that's
besides the point. I'm not likebut that ship has sailed.
(20:21):
Everybody, we're not likearguing about all just frontier
land in name only at this point, because none of it's really
cohesive. So yeah, because firstof all, for Tiana, both the
location nor the timeline makessense for the frontier. This
isn't the Oregon Trail.
Everybody like, you know what Imean. So that ship has sailed of
staying with the theme of thefrontier. Which is fine, yeah,
(20:43):
which is fine. I think it up.
Don't start bitching about that.
Whatever. We could have bitchedabout that three years ago when
they announced Tiana's Bayouadventure, right? So that being
said, Just stop. Okay,um, next announcement for Magic
Kingdom. So much for MagicKingdom. Villains, land is
coming to Magic Kingdom. Sothis, they didn't say a start
(21:07):
date. However, he said, overall, these things will be starting at
least in the next five years.
Yeah, I'll believe that when Isee it. But I'm excited. I'm
excited. Okay, this is one thatpeople have been asking for, for
they wanted a park, right Park?
But whenever they did the wholeblue sky about beyond Thunder
(21:30):
Mountain, they were like, maybea villains land. And everyone
was really, really excited. So Ialso maybe in Kanto, and I was
like, and nobody was bitchingabout that either, about it not
making sense with Frontier, butagain, whatever. But I think out
of anything, the villains landmakes the most sense for Magic
Kingdom. Your magic kingdom. Ithink it's gonna be really,
(21:50):
really neat. I think it'll bereally cool too. And I honestly
feel like they're gonna find away to be able to connect it
with both the like beyondfrontier like area. And I think
they'll be able to somehowconnect it back to fantasy land.
I really hope they can make somesort of entrance via fantasy
land, because I feel like thatmakes sense story wise, yeah,
um,but also, I don't think making a
(22:13):
dead end land is very efficient, because, like, Frontier land
right now is essentially a deadend land with Tiana and Big
Thunder. Like, there's no like, you know, you can't loop back to
anywhere from that. You have tocome back out of it. So I feel
like, if they just are going tocontinue that, keep going back,
that's going to be reallyinefficient crowd wise. Yeah.
(22:37):
But I feel like at the sametime, too, with everything
Disney's recently been doing.
It's like, if they have landsomewhere and they can put it
like, no matter how inefficientit is, then that's what they're
gonna kind of do, yeah, so we'llsee. But I think they would be
able to connect it back to frontor to fantasy land, like, I
think they'd be able to figuresomething, yeah, um, but there
with this is supposed to be twomajor attractions. They didn't
say anything about what they arein the concept art, there's
(23:01):
looks to be a roller coaster. SoI'd be shocked if they don't end
up doing a roller coaster in oneway or another, but I'd be
honestly shocked too, that ifthings don't look totally
different than whatever thisinitial concept art true, but I
still feel like they they'regonna do some sort of sort of
roller coaster. I think it'slike villains, like, obviously
it's Disney, so it's still likegeared towards, like geared
towards like everybody, butlike, this is for the Disney
(23:23):
adults at the end of the day. SoI feel like they're gonna do
some sort of roller coaster. Andhonestly, I think, um, they
should make it like drop, likethe Hagrid coaster does. If you
guys have been on hagrids atUniversal it like drops, Google
it. Um, I feel like that wouldbe really cool. Because I just
feel like I don't know theenergy that they're going for,
yes, and I think because theyalso said how they'll be, like,
(23:45):
dining in this land andshopping, which, like, obviously
it's Disney, so of coursethere's going to be food and
merch. But I think if they woulddo a villains character dining
experience, it would do really, really, really well, yeah. I
think that would be really neat.
Yeah, I think it'd be or sincethey're now in the area of era
of doing these lounges at parks,if they would do some sort of
(24:10):
villains lounge, that could bereally cool as well, or both.
Who knows. So I'm curious to seewhat speculations people have
about that. I feel like, thoughlocation wise for that, nobody's
really like, I think it's morethe jury's just out on, are they
gonna get rid of Tom SawyerIsland or not? Other than that,
I feel like there's no otherreally question of, like, where
that's gonna go, since they kindof discussed options for adding
(24:32):
on to Magic Kingdom already.
Yeah. And I don't think there'sreally anywhere else to get rid
of anything else other than TomSawyer's Island. No, if that,
well, I don't think that there'senough room, even if you knocked
out, like Storybook Circus, circus at all.
So that will be interesting. I'mcurious too, though, if they'll
end up likethat stupid railroad, like, just
(24:54):
reopened. Like.
We gonna make another stopthere. Like, are we? Do we
really have to do this? Like, you know? So I don't know what's
gonna go on with that, but weshall see.
Our next announcement for DisneyWorld is the tropical America's
(25:15):
Animal Kingdom is now a go. Sothey had discussed this last D
23 for replacing diner land USA,and it is now a go. And so
there's gonna be a villagecalled Pueblo Esperanza. It's 11
acres, which really isn't thatbig.
Yeah, it's well like becausethey tossing the numbers out,
(25:37):
and I don't know what to compareit to. So, yeah, I just think
about an acre being the size offootball field, I know, but it's
just not big in the first place.
So it's not like, I'm like, whenmagic kingdom's like 100 acres,
11 acres, um,but construction will begin on
it later this year. They did saythey're going to do it in
phases. So it's not like they'regoing to like, close dining, or
they're not going to close likedinosaur tomorrow, or anything
like that. I mean, I'm surethey're going to start like
(25:59):
they've already leveled where,probably is. And I'm sure it's
gonna go back farther than that.
Like, I don't think they're justgonna, like, use the area that's
already developed there. So I'msure they're gonna start on that
stuff and then do it. I bet theyclose basically everything
exceptdinosaur and the quick service
over there, yeah, and then gofrom there. So they're gonna
(26:22):
have one of the largest quickservices at Disney hacienda.
Well, it's a hacienda, ahacienda, okay, so I have a lot
of like food from Latin America, yeah. So it's gonna be like a
mix of Latin American foods, which, honestly, like Animal
Kingdom is in desperate need aquick service. Oh, yeah,
(26:42):
honestly, please, Disney, ifyou're listening, please make
inside seating like, I'm beggingyou, it looked like this was
gonna be a big, like, covered, good. No, not covered inside. I
mean, air conditioned, I don'tknow, but like, it was at least,
like, not outdoors, because it'stoo damn hot for that shit.
Okay, yeah, and animal kingdom,I understand we're supposed to
(27:05):
be in all these places thataren't here. But my ass trots
over the restaurant stores everydamn time just to get some AC
okay, it does. And, you know, Iunderstand, like, there's, like,
the Pandora restaurant, whicheverybody loves, which, like,
you know, I go there every oncein a while I really do, like,
you know, most time I feel likeI go there. I feel like, though,
at Animal Kingdom, I am forcedto pick to where to eat based
(27:27):
off of air conditioning. Yeah,I'd love to eat flame, tree
barbecue. I really would, butI'm just it's really hot, 90
degrees, and there's no asscheeks are sweating. I'm not
sitting outside, okay? Or ifthere are fans, and they don't
work, but it's like a fan justblowing around the 95 degree
heat. That's not exactlyhelpful. And it's, you know, six
feet above my head, that's,that's not helpful, okay? But I
(27:48):
think the the type of food, too,Animal Kingdom definitely needs,
and I'm sure it's going to bedelicious, yeah, because Disney
does, I mean, I know it's goingto be beyond just Mexican food,
but Disney does Mexican foodpretty Mexican food pretty well,
yeah. So yeah, I'm excited aboutthat. And they did
(28:09):
announce three attractions forthe area. So one obviously
replace dinosaur. That's goingto be Indiana Jones. It's going
to be a new story based on Mayantemple. And so if you've been on
Indiana Jones in Disneyland.
This won't be, it'll be the sametype of attraction, like, the
same attraction, like, you know, like dinosaur is kind of, like
you're in a vehicle off roadingsort of thing. But it's not
(28:29):
going to be the same story, which I am excited about. So
it's not going to be copy andpaste, yeah, and like, even if
it was, I'd be excited, becauseI love the, like, Indiana Jones
ride is one of my favoriterides. Oh yeah, me too. But
overall, I'm excited that'sgonna be a new storyline, just
because I figured we could useit. And they also announced
there's going to be Encanto, themadrigal house. I don't know
(28:50):
shit about Encanto. I don'treally care about Encanto, to be
honest with you, don't bring outthe pitchforks everybody. I
don't want to tell youI'm nervous because
I don't want it to be just likea screen ride.
Yeah, I don't think it will be.
Well, it's gonna, well, I'msaying like, it's gonna be a
bunch of screens and, like, afew animatronics, and that's
(29:11):
what a lot of people are nervousabout. Yeah, it looks like it's
gonna from the concept art, which, you know, who knows if
this is going to be accurate ornot, it looks like it could be
like a trackless ride vehicle,um, and if it's trackless,
there's gonna be a lotof screens. Yeah, I don't know.
I think that there's a potentialfor it to be really cool, yeah,
(29:33):
so we'll see the jury's out onthat one. But you know all the
bitches loving conto, so theygot what they wanted. Okay, now,
everybody, leave us alone. Andthen they also announced they're
doing a carousel. And it kind ofhas a story behind it, where
it's like hand carved this man'sfavorite like, who lives in the
village, his favorite Disneycharacters. So I think that'll
be a cute spin on it. I thinkthere's definitely a need for
(29:57):
more.
Family geared rides at AnimalKingdom. Well, especially if
you're getting rid of like, thatkid, right? Like Triceratops
spin like, you're gonna needsomething to replace that. Yeah?
So I think this is a goodchoice. Yeah, one thing I have a
question about that they didn't,haven't mentioned yet. So right
now, in dining land, they havelike that, I don't the dig site
(30:19):
and stuff like that, it's kindof like a playground for kids. I
am wondering if they will eitherkeep that, or at least, because
I think it could go really wellinto the theming there. It could
go well into the Indiana Jonestheme, that sort of thing. And,
like, I think they'd have torenovate it a little bit. But
I'm wondering if they're goingto keep that or just ditch it
all together. I thought theykeep it because I just think
it's a good thing for kids tohave to do. I think it's like, a
(30:40):
good idea.
Plus, like, especially withinKanto, being over there, it's
gonna draw a lot of familieswith kids and plus the carousel.
Like, I think they just need tokeep things in that park for
younger children. I agree, but Ithink that scrap it, I just
don't even know. Because, like,I feel like that's not
necessarily useful space, though, like, you know what I
(31:02):
mean, it's not necessarilytaking up a ton of space. Yeah,
I guess that's true, but whodoes so? We'll see what happens
with that. Obviously, if theydid keep it, they'd have to,
like, re theme it a bit, andstuff like that. But I do think
that would be cool to keepbecause I feel like doing it
like Indiana Jones themed couldbe, like, really neat. Yeah, it
would be fun. So anotherannouncement for Animal Kingdom
(31:23):
is the tree of life is getting anew Zootopia movie in it, so
it's replacing it's tough to bea bug. Sayonara, bitch. I i
threat so much. I hate thatshit. I can't remember last time
I was on it trauma from a youngchild, horrible trauma. I hate
that shit. Sayonara, I loveZootopia. So this is great.
(31:45):
Yeah, Zootopia is great. So thenthat opens next winter. So it'll
probably more to be likejanuary, february of 2026, but,
but still, but still that, I andthat. So that'll be good. I
think it'll get a new lease onlife. Animal Kingdom deserves a
new lease on life. Not sad tosee it's tough to be a bug go. I
(32:10):
don't think really anybody is,except for that bitch who, or
who, over the years, has DM mecountless times to sign a
fucking petition to save flick.
Bitch. I don't care about flick,so I won't be signing the
petition to save flick. I'msorry if you're listening to
this, if you're offended aboutthat, but I don't give a fuck
about flick, to be honest withyou, I've never liked A Bug's
Life. It's always traumatizedme. So anything that we can
(32:30):
remove A Bug's Life from Yeah, like, let's just in that movie
as a whole. So I think we'refinally, have we finally moved
into Disneyland. Oh, well, no,Disney World. There's a few
other things, but I don't know.
We're just gonna go in order ofthis. So Sorry buddy. We're
jumping around a littlebit Disneyland. So this, we knew
some of these things we knew, but we're just growing upon the
(32:53):
fact, kind of like the tropicalAmericas thing at Animal
Kingdom. So the avatar land ofDCA is a go. It is going to be
inspired by the way of water theupcoming fire and ash and other
upcoming avatar films, five years never knows when to
stop. Yeah. And according to theD 23 Expo, one of the most
(33:15):
iconic stories of all time, incase you didn't know is avatar.
Oh, and it's timeless. I cameout
1015, years ago. I don't thinkthis is one of the most iconic
stories of our generation, butof all time, not all time. Yeah,
when it's just a rip off ofPocahontas, but I don't know. I
(33:38):
haven't seen the second one. Soit's just space Pocahontas, it
really is, but, um, that shookme to my core. But I honestly do
not care. Okay? I mean, I loveflight of passage, okay? I love
to totally canteen. Pandora isbeautiful. You know? I think
it'll look really cool. I'm moreso excited because there is the
potential, which, obviously thisis not confirmed nor denied. And
(34:00):
also, we don't have a name forthis traction, I don't think,
but there is the potential thatthis ride could be like the
pirates ride in Shanghai. If youdon't know what I'm talking
about, Google it. Google thePirates of the Caribbean ride
Shanghai. Disney. It is thecraziest shit you'll have ever
seen in your life. Like, if youthought Rise of the resistance
(34:21):
was crazy, this is crazier. It'slike, that's that ride alone
makes me want to go over toShanghai Disneyland. And, I
mean, I think it excites me moreon a Shanghai level, because I
care more about Pirates of theCaribbean than avatar, but I'll
take what I can get. So that'sthe only reason I am curious
about this is, if that's what itends up being. Plus, I'm
(34:45):
curious. I'm like, since this isgoing to be a whole land, are we
literally just getting thatride, or we gonna get like,
another ride? I have no idea. Soalso, like, where do they have
room to put anything? Well, theyalready planned this, I know,
but still it's gonna be, like,behind i.
Uh, I don't know, behindAvengers campus or something. I
don't really know. That's not myproblem. So that's their
(35:05):
problem. Does it make sense forCalifornia? No. Does anything at
California Adventure make senseanymore or from its conception?
No. So it's a free game.
They're also doing a CoCo rideat California Adventure this, I
think we're saying goodbye toMonster sing everybody. I think
(35:26):
everybody's kind of realizedthat that they're gonna say
goodbye to Monster Singh forthis, which is fine, it's gonna
be a boat ride. So I think it'sgonna be a very traditional
Disney sort of thing. I'm alsonervous that this is just gonna
be a bunch of screens and a fewanimatronics. I think it's gonna
be like frozen, yeah, which isbasically just screens, the
animatronics. But so whatever. Imean, I don't care, or not care
(35:48):
about Coco, so I just think thiswill be interesting, because if
this goes well, then who knows, maybe one day, it'll replace the
three covid euros, even thoughgrant, and I've talked about
that, and that would be alogistical nightmare for them to
replace. And I think that's moreso why? The reason that rides
still there is because theydon't really know what to do,
how to do it, because they'dhave to break down walls and
(36:09):
stuff, because that queue holds12 people. Like, you couldn't
put anything that draws a crowdthere. You'd have to, like,
really reconfigure everything.
So, I don't know. Plus, like, the boat ride itself isn't very
long, so, you like, it wouldjust be a whole
cluster of chaos. But I thinkthe main reason I'm excited
about this is, A, something new,and B, the music and Coco is
(36:35):
really, really good. So I thinkit's, like, totally pretty,
right, you know? So I think ifit's all really geared towards,
like the music, then it'll be areally fun ride.
So that'll be interesting, saythe least. Work on that doesn't
begin until 2026 so see you allin 2028 2029 with that probably,
yeah, especially with how longdrawn took, yeah. So another
(36:57):
announcement coming fromDisneyland. This makes me so
emo, everybody. They are, forthe first time ever, creating an
audio animatronic of WaltDisney, and they are going to
have a like stage show, essentially, kind of like great
moments with Mr. Lincoln. That'sWalt Disney, a magical life of
Disney. If you've never seengreat moments with Mr. Lincoln.
(37:18):
It's basically call ofpresidents, but like, just
Abraham Lincoln. But that was, like, Disney's first, like audio
animatronic crazy thing wasgreat moments with Mr. Lincoln
that's still out on display atDisneyland.
And so now there, it seems thatthey're going to be making it a
rotating theater, because theirinitial, I think, like after the
initial run of this show, they're going to play in
(37:39):
rotation with great moments ofMr. Lincoln, is what they said.
So this is opening in 2025 soit's soon, and I'm so excited.
Said that it's like the wholeshow, like the bit is that it's
supposed to feel like you'regoing into Walt's office and
just chatting with him as he'sdeveloping the idea of
Disneyland. And like, talkingabout his life, and like, yeah,
(38:02):
career, and like, what DisneyLand is able to do for people,
like in the years ahead, and allkinds of stuff like that. So I
think it's gonna be really cool.
It's gonna be very emo. And thisis Disney's response to not
being able to give Disneylandback carousel progress. So, but
no, that's gonna be, it's goingto give everybody chills. All
(38:22):
the Disney adults are going tosub, including myself, that's
going to be such a slay. Um,good for them for that one and
all, and the fact that it opensnext year, yeah, wild. But
that's because it's, like,literally, it's one audio
animatronic, like, yeah. Butstill, you know how Disney takes
forever to do anything. Sotheoretically, it shouldn't take
long, um, but I am curious. I'mlike, so when are we gonna get a
new something for Epcot Americanadventure pavilion? Because
(38:46):
let's wrap that shit up,everybody. Yeah, probably never.
So news, phone, Avengers campus.
We knew that they were going tobe extending adventures campus,
but they have announced they'reactually doing two new
attractions rather than justone. I don't know shit about
Avengers. I don't really careabout Avengers. All I know is
the one ride vehicle theyannounced looks a lot like the
(39:08):
spider man ride at Universal.
That's from 1998but there you have it. Avengers
fans take one's like an eggscrambler, and I think it's like
a cop out just to say there'sanother ride. But yeah, it's
doubling the size of the land.
Universal does? Yeah, you knowwhat? I know it is. Disney can
(39:32):
play that game too. Yeah.
Other things that they announcedthat are Avengers adjacent,
Shanghai announced a new SpiderMan coaster. There was not much
news for the Internationalparks. I think they just got
such big overhauls that they'relike, Okay, well, we're tapped
out. And then new Spider Manattraction at Hong Kong
Disneyland, as wellas for Disneyland Paris, they
announced that there's going tobe the frozen land that's going
(39:54):
to open in 2026 because, youknow, they are rebranding the
Disneyland Paris.
What's it called? Now, is itDisney, Disney Studios, yeah,
Disney Studios, Disneyland,Paris, Adventure World, or is it
just Disney's Adventure World,Disney Adventure World, Disney
World. That sounds fake, Okay, everybody, yeah, it sounds
really bad. It's giving SpyKids. It's giving the amusement
(40:17):
park in Spy Kids. That's fake.
It sounds not real. Buthonestly, it was a shit show to
begin with. So honestly,honestly, whatever I I don't
know, like, I feel like thatwhole situation over there, I
don't know to tell them. Soname, whatever you want. Well,
and it looks like the area thatFrozen is at, like, I guess
there's a model at D 23 peoplesaid it looks really, really
(40:37):
empty, but it's this big lagoon, and I think it's so they can
expand and put new lands in overthe next 30 years. Yeah. So it
probably won't be done for 30years, but at least it'll be
like, Oh, here's something newthat's coming out, and then
five, like, five years later, here's something else that's new
and here's something else that'snew. So yeah, they need it over
(40:57):
there, yeah. But you know, theyshould do something like that at
Disney World, because that makessense. Yeah. And another thing
they announced at DisneylandParis, which I am kind of
confused by, is they are doing aLion King attraction. And I'm
still kind of confused if it'slike because they didn't
necessarily say a Lion Kingland, I don't know. No, they
said it new Pride Lands area, okay, so I don't know what this
(41:18):
is exactly gonna be, but, um,there's going to be a log flume
ride based off of the Lion King.
Is literally Splash Mountain.
But the concept art looks likethe CGI, like live action stuff.
Yeah, that's but then they keptsaying based on the 1994 Yeah.
So, like, if you're gonna makethis live action literally,
leave us alone. Let us like, just forget it. Just forget it.
(41:39):
Okay, it's like the story fromSimba as a cub TO THE LION KING
or something. So I don't know ifthey're gonna make this the CGI
version. Don't talk to me ifthey're gonna make it the
animated version. Okay, great.
My biggest thing, I'm justconfused why it had to
necessarily be a long flumeride. I just that doesn't really
(42:00):
make sense to me with any partof the weird lines. That's
weird. I did petition to grantand said that if they were going
to make a log plume ride atDisneyland Paris, for some
reason, Disneyland Paris, I'venever been there, but for some
reason, they have all the faceor not face fur characters, if
you will, for the Emperor's NewGroove out constantly. I don't
know what fanbase. Apparently, there's a big fan base for the
(42:23):
embers new groove in Disneyland.
Paris specifically that wesomehow don't deserve in the US.
I don't know, like we don'tdeserve the fur characters here,
supposedly, but they have themthere. So if there's that big of
a lure there of the embers NewGroove, what more of a sleigh
would it be to do an Emperor'sNew Groove log flume ride. We're
about to go down a hugewaterfall. Yep, bring it on.
Literally, what could be moreperfect, the little roller
(42:46):
coaster part of Splash Mountain, slash challenges by you
adventurethe wrong level. Literally, what
could be more perfect? Okay?
Honestly, I think if Eartha Kittwas still alive, we would have
had an Emperor's New Groovesequel. And so all I can ask is,
Disney, can you at least putsomething embers new groove in
(43:08):
the villains area of MagicKingdom? Yeah, I hope so. But
the log flume ride would be sucha good idea. But obviously that
is not happening, but stillconfused of what a log flume has
to do with the Lion King. Isthat Mufasa shoving or not?
Mufasa scar shoving us off theedge of the clip? POV, your
(43:31):
Mufasa, that'd be really weird.
And then you get trampled by thewildebeests.
So back over to Disneyland,California. Tiana Bayou venture
is going to be opening onNovember 15.
(43:52):
People are like, it's it's done,but it's just, I think they're
trying to figure out, becauseapparently, Disney still can't
build shit without it beingbroken at the same time, even
though it's brand new, becauseat Disney World, they've
experienced a lot of outageswith the animal audio
animatronics and Tiana's Bayouadventure, causing the ride to
shut down numerous times a day.
Not sure what's the issue withthem. And as you know, this is
(44:12):
tales, oldest time for Disney.
You know this goes rides, theresistance, this guy, you know,
everything they've opened in thepast 10 years. Okay? And we're
just lucky that when we wroteit, it wasn't, yeah, we got
broken down, yeah, um, butthey're finally gonna open it in
November.
They also announced two newlounges coming to Disney World,
(44:33):
one we already knew about, thepirates inspired one at Magic
Kingdom. People like, there'slike, rumors, like, two weeks
ago, they're like, Oh, they'renot doing it anymore. And I'm
like, No, they are. But like, why would they tell you first of
all?
And so they did confirm it, sothat is happening,
and they didn't say where, though, because at first
everybody thought it was gonnahappen Tortuga tavern, but then
(44:54):
people are now speculating gonnahappen, right? So right outside
the pirates ride, I don't know.
I still think it's gonna happen.
Tortuga tavern. Does it reallymatter? No, no, I don't think it
does. But they're also opening anew lounge at Spaceship Earth.
So this was formerly, like, theGM, like, GM, right? Yeah, GM
lounge. GM Lounge, which is,like, for private events, like,
(45:15):
you'd have weddings there, um,corporate events, stuff like
that would happen there. It'sright above Spaceship Earth. You
can, like, see there's, like,Windows on spaceship Earth. If
you're this one, I'm excited, yeah, if you're like, on the
side of World Showcase lookingat Spaceship Earth, you can see
all the windows up there. That'swhere it's gonna be. So those
are both playing to open nextyear. So quick turnaround on
those. I mean, you're nevergonna get to see the inside of
(45:37):
that shit at Spaceship Earth.
That's gonna be booked and busy.
Yeah, so that's gonna beunfortunate, but it is what it
is. And honestly, I don't knowI'm I like how it's gonna be
pirates the Magic Kingdom. I amjust a purist in the sense. I do
not believe in alcohol MagicKingdom. But you know that ship
sailed when they opened Skippercanteen, I just hope that they
(45:58):
keep that shit inside there, like I just really hope they
don't let people exit withalcohol. I'd assume that it'd be
inside if they're billing it asa lounge and they want, you
know, I'm just hoping they don'tlet people, like, walk out with
it after like, but I think, though it's like every other
like, like, August, cantina andstuff like that, they want you
to buy a $30 drink in a specialglass, and you're gonna be there
(46:20):
and you're gonna stay there.
Yeah, so I think that's, that'sjust my biggest fear. I'm like,
don't let that because, sorry, that's not what Walt would have
wanted. No, I know you, butshe's a lie. And say, well, oh
no. And notjust about alcohol, other things
too. Oh, what would No, hewouldn't okay. And also, slay to
is it like Roy? Junior, junior, junior boy, the third showed up
(46:42):
to D 23 unlike some otherDisney's we know who on a yap
about the company, this manshowed up has been helping,
helped with the animatronic ofWalt. So this is Walt's
great, great nephew.
(47:03):
Just nephew. Great No, greatnephew, yeah, great nephew. I
think great, great to be Walt'sgreat nephew. So salute to him
for showing up wearing fuckingMickey ears. That's a sleigh. He
was happy to be there. He washappy to be there also with all
of these, I just need to saytoo, how, whenever they like the
beginning parts of all of this, watching this live, I would just
(47:25):
they would say something. I'd belike, pass or like, approved,
you're good. Like, keep likenext, approved, good.
I am the board of directors.
Okay, so where are we at? I lostmy spot. Oh, man. Okay.
Reimagine Test Track is openingback up in 2025 yay. We were
(47:48):
hoping for, we were assuming, but yeah, until we get, actually
get something we and the thingis, too we could actually get up
in 2026 or 2027 because you knowhow that should always gets
pushed back. Um, one thingthat's exciting is that they're
going to be adding newadventures to, uh, featuring the
Mandalorian and grogu toMillennium Falcon Smugglers Run
in 2026I didn't really think about this
(48:09):
because, you know, they do allthese overlays for Star Tours,
but Millennium Falcon SmugglersRun is the same thing. But,
like, they never said that, likethey would potentially do that.
So this is cool. I don't thinkthat was in their cards so
quickly after it opened. Oh, Iagree. And I think they were all
shook to their core whenever, ayear into opening, you could get
on that ride in a 30 minute waitwith no problem. Yeah, and I
(48:30):
really like that ride, but toknow, a lot of people don't,
because, like, unless you're thepilot, then you just can't see
shit, right, or you're justlike, stressed out the whole
time. And I think maybe for me,it's, like, it doesn't matter if
I'm in the back because I'mtaller, so I could still see
everything, but like, if you'reshorter than, like, obviously I
get it exactly. So I thinkthat's good that they're doing
(48:51):
that it's always nice to be ableto keep, not that that's an old
ride, per se, but like, it'sjust nice to keep things fresh
as they can. Oh, yeah. So it'seasy. The one thing I'm Well,
I'm excited, honestly, forbasically all this, which is
groundbreaking. Be honest withyou, but the one thing I have
begged for and petitioned forfor years is for Disney world to
(49:11):
have a nighttime parade again.
And we are finally getting ateverybody, and it's coming next
summer. It's called Disneystarlight. It looks such a
sleigh. I'm so excited, soexcited. I just, I think I just
have a lot of nostalgia withDisney nighttime parades.
Because as a kid going toDisney, my family were big
nighttime Park people, and Ialways remember
(49:35):
the Electrical Parade. And so Ilike, I'm so excited for this.
And then when we went toDisneyland for the first time we
saw paint the night, which wasso good, yeah. And that's like,
I have a lot of memories ofDisney parades, like, whenever I
went as a kid, like the one timethat I went as a kid, but it was
all afternoon parades andso, like, I remember
Illuminations, but that's prettymuch it. So when we saw paint
(49:56):
the night, I was floored. Like.
Was the best thing that I'veever seen in my life. And we
were lucky we even got to seethat, because I don't think, I
think it ran for two or threemonths. Yeah, so this I'm
really, really excited for. Andyou know what I actually just
thought about is so theyactually didn't, they didn't
announce a replacement forfestival fantasy. Oh, I don't
(50:17):
know what's going on with that.
Say I, if you're a professionalfancy I,
I don't mind it, but I thinkover it 10 years, Okay, we're
done. I think it's time foranyone for sure, let's move on.
Just because you fixed thefucking dragon doesn't mean we
have to drag this out anylonger. I just like, I don't
think that, like, because I'veseen it so many times that it
(50:38):
doesn't do it for me anymore.
Well, I just like, don't reallycare. So I don't really think
about it. One thing is, you inthe same breath, Disneyland's
gotten like five parades in thesame time frame that we've had
one amazing, same Parade, whichis insane. So I was the one with
just saw magic happens. Yes, ohmy gosh. So good. So please,
just like, Yeah, bring thatenergy over to the East Coast,
(50:59):
yeah, I beg you, we need a newparade at Magic Kingdom, like a
daytime parade. So I don't knowthey need to do something, but
the thing is, too parades aresomething they announce all the
time, and they without, like aconference or anything. So I'm
not gonna put it out of thequestion. Um, it might not be
till like 2026 at this point, since they're doing this next
year, but I'd love to get a newparade sometime soon. And
(51:20):
honestly, I'd love to seeparades in other parks sometime
soon as well, like in the early2000s when there was a parade at
every park. Yeah, bring back thestars and motor cars parade. Oh,
I love bring back the jam andjungle parade. Bring back that
double decker bus to Epcot.
Bring it back. I loved thetapestry nations parade, yeah,
(51:41):
I've got that was so cool withthe stilts and stuff, yeah? So
bring it back. I don't know howyou're gonna do it, but do it
okay. And honestly, I'm shockedthat Disneyland, in no regard,
got any announcements for anynight time shows, any parades,
anything. And considering thisis now going to be the 70th
anniversary of Disneyland, well, they hit it and announce
anything, yeah, John St Louiscame out something, sang and,
(52:02):
like, did a bit announce the70th, and then, like, they're,
like, coming soon with nodetails, which was really odd,
isn't the 70th? Ithink next year, yeah, next
year, because of 55Yeah. So, I mean, I'm sure they
have stuff up their sleeve forthat, but I'm just shocked. They
didn't announce anything, butthey did also announce new
(52:25):
nighttime spectaculars forDisneyland Paris, that starts
January of next year, and thenTokyo starts September 20, so
literally next month. So lots ofnighttime entertainment look
forward to. I'm so excited forthat magic kingdom. One, it's
going to be an absolute fuckingnightmare, considering how much
of a nightmare the Jerome showwas at Disney
(52:46):
Springs. I mean, obviouslythat's, like, open to the
public, so it's very different, but, like, the logistics, I'm
not looking forward to, but I amexcited to see it nonetheless.
Yeah, I think it's one of thosethings. It's like, I will suffer
through for a parade, I justcan't suffer through for
fireworks. Yeah, I agree.
Because I feel like, withparade, you can, like, sit down
and, like, just camp there andeat a snack and like, yeah,
yeah, it's not a big deal, yep.
(53:10):
But I think that's like,everything I went through that
pretty quickly. I feel like,Yeah, we didn't touch on any of
the stuff that they announcedmovie wise. But honestly, it was
a ton of secret ground breaking.
What I do want to briefly touchon, though, is the fact that so
many people, they should openthe fifth gate, they should open
a fifth gate. Do you realizelike
(53:31):
it would take so much more thanso many people act like it would
to open a fifth park there?
Well, I think they don't havethe land for it like I think my
main thing is, they're looking, you know, 50 years in the
future. I want to make sure thatthey can expand how they take
whatever everyone else is tappedout, yeah, and B,
(53:54):
if you want something, you know, they're trying to solve a short
term problem with profits withinthe next five years. And if you
open up another gate, like, withthe way that Disney operates and
their level of detail andattention and how their budgets
work, like you're not going tosee anything for a decade, yeah,
or it would be half assed, which, like, right? You know,
(54:16):
like, realistically, like, thisis what we're gonna get because,
and, well, I'm not like, for oragainst a fifth gate. I just
like, I don't know. I wouldprefer them expand the parks now
than them open another park as awhole, just because. And the
only reason people are sayingthis is because of epic
universe. That is the onlyreason. But in my personal
(54:39):
opinion, which I know a lot ofpeople will probably disagree
with me on this. I still do notsee universal as a main
competitor to Disney World. Ithink they serve, for the most
part, two different types ofpeople. Just because a lot of
locals and cast members go toboth does not mean the average
Disney attendee goes to both byany means.
(55:00):
Ends. I mean, I've only beenthere a few times in my
lifetime. I've only been thereonce. Like, will we go again
once epic universe opens? Yeah, probably not. Like, right after
it opens, but probably soon ishafter. But the only reason
people are saying that isbecause of epic universe. And
honestly, I think epic universeis just a hodgepodge of shit
(55:20):
that they threw together, which, like, I'm not saying that
certain parts of it won't becool. I'm not saying, well,
that's not what I'm saying. I'mnot saying it won't be
successful. But for people toact like epic universe is, like,
well planned out, whatever. No,it's not okay. They have the
most random shit. Who asked fora How To Train Your Dragon area
of a park, yeah? What's kind ofodd, like that shit makes no
(55:44):
fucking sense. Like, what areyou talking about? Why build a
whole minions land that you'vebuilt made a million movies off
at this point, when you canbuild, I guess, How to Train
Your Dragon part? Like, what?
And universal. I mean, I thinktoo, you know, this is just my
opinion. Universal and Disneyare competitors because it's
(56:08):
just two different you know, Ithink recently, Universal's had
some successes with things likethe velocicoaster and things of
that sort. But at the end of theday, half their shit is still
screen rides, everybody andthey're not good screen rides. I
think the big thing is in likeDisney, if something is outdated
and not like, well loved, because, like, if something is
(56:30):
like, people would ride, if theygot rid of it, then they don't
touch like, right? But withsomething else, like, like diner
land, where it's kind of justbeen like, abandoned. Universal
would keep it and not touch it,because there's a lot of pieces
of their parks that are, like, outdated, but they like, are
like, well, there's a ride here,so we're gonna count it. And
(56:51):
like, people are like, they'regonna pretend people are happy
with it. And Disney goes in andtears it down and puts something
brand new and keeps their parksup to date. And universal,
instead, is like, well, we don'thave room, so we're going to
just open up a brand new well, like, not to mention, a lot of
people think universal inHollywood's a complete shit
show. They're just building up auniverse to be like, okay, just
(57:11):
like, ignore all the shit thatwe have issues with in our both
Orlando and our Hollywood themeparks, like, and all these rides
that are just screen rides. Ithink too, it's like my whole
issue is, you know, our like, little extended family we travel
with, so, like us, my parents,my sister, her husband and their
two kids. Okay, good. Age gapbetween everybody we have a baby
(57:32):
through my parents are, youknow, 60s and about to be 70.
Like we could not take them touniversal and everybody be
happy, right? My mom wouldn't beable to ride a lot of stuff
because she gets motionsickness. The kids could barely
ride shit, because right?
Requirements and stuff isn't asinsane, to be honest, even like
Cat in the Hat, I don't evenknow far a six year old nephew
(57:52):
the cat. Why is there a heightrequirement for a fucking cat in
the hat? Rides the cat in thefucking hat, bitch.
It's a dark ride to the Cat inthe Hat. Like there's just
things that universal that don'tmake any sense. And like, we
were talking about this, how, like the whole, like, coloss
continent area, first of all, that whatever fever dream
(58:12):
attraction that they finallyfucking closed there. What was
that even called? I don't evenknow what it was called. You
know, it was weird. Okay, I wenton that the first time we were
in this universal together, wewere like, What the fuck is
this? Like? I thought I wasgonna be kidnapped or some shit.
That was the weirdest thing I'veever experienced my life that
takes up so much space, whichobviously they finally now
closed it. But that whole land, quote, land is still there, and
(58:34):
all there is there's arestaurant. Like, their use of
space is insane. Like, it's notefficient whatsoever. And then
they try to, like, build screenrides, to try to make up, first,
the little amount of space theyhave, but then they're not good.
And then, like, for a long time, they're like, Oh, this is the
Jurassic Park area, the ride orarea of the park. But then it
was just one ride. They nowfinally built velocicoaster. But
(58:55):
what 25 years later, like, Idon't know. And like the Harry
Potter rides, like the one theForbidden Journey That shit aged
horribly. Aged horribly in termsof, like, the structure of the
ride, not smooth whatsoever.
When we wrote it, the screen wasjust so blurry I couldn't even
tell what was going on. It'snauseating. And then, even then,
they build going on alley andstill only build one ride in it.
(59:20):
Yeah, that one, at least, issignificantly better. But I
think the best ride still isHagrid. I don't know. I still
think, like, it's nothingcompared to, like, distance,
right? Like, you know, it'sstill just a bunch of screens,
but this time it's on a rollercoaster, right? Like, you know,
so I don't know. And like, transformers, screen ride,
Spider Man screen ride, oh, Fastand the Furious. Screen ride.
(59:41):
Jimmy Fallon, who asked for aJimmy Fallon ride? Literally,
nobody, nobody asked for JimmyFallon ride, minions screen
ride. Rest in peace to Shrek, but that was a screen ride too.
But then the new minions ride, that also replaced that also a
screen ride, but now you juststand on a people mover at the
same time, like everything's ascreen.
Mean, yeah, everything's ascreen, except for the handful
(01:00:02):
roller coasters, which I'm gladpeople love roller coasters. I
like the roller coasters atUniversal as well. I'm not being
a hater to that, but everythingelse is the Kong ride. Oh, my
arch nemesis. Oh, my gosh, no.
Like, I don't know. So all thesepeople who are forcing Disney to
look at Universal as acompetitor and make Disney panic
is honestly crazy to me at thispoint, and I'm intrigued about
epic universe, but you know, I'mgonna have to see all the rides
(01:00:26):
and make sure none of them arecop outs, which I know some of
them are gonna be cop outsanyway, so whatever, at least
they're finally actuallylistening to people about
Nintendo World and being like,Okay, we're gonna, like, make
this stuff a little bit better, but honestly, they're still
building that Mario Kart ride, which was a huge disappointment
to a lot of people, yeah, but atleast Donkey Kong ride, which
(01:00:48):
will be cool third time thatthey're building, yeah, and
that's well, and that's why,like, I'm happy that Disney's
realizing, before they reallystarted doing it too much, that
copying and pasting the sameride doesn't always work.
Doesn't work. And it's like, ifyou want to do the same IP, but
do something totally different,go for it, yeah. Because, like,
(01:01:09):
universal, they just copy andpaste everything across all
their coasts. And, like, mything is, like, you wonder why
no one wants to go to, like, Idon't really have any desire to
go to Universal Hollywoodbecause, besides, like, the back
lot tour, because everything'sthe same, yeah, so that's like,
but I'll go out to Disneylandonce every few years, because
(01:01:32):
it's totally different.
I can't wait to go to theinternational parks. But, like,
I didn't even realize there wasan international universal park
until, like, Mario came out.
Yeah, and there's like, multipleand I had no clue, because,
like, nobody talks about them, and they're the same. And so
like, and if you enjoyuniversal, like, I'm like,
that's not an insult touniversal as a whole. But it's
just the people who are tryingto act like, just because
(01:01:53):
there's both, like, they havethem in Orlando and Los Angeles
area, that they're competitors.
Like, I just don't see it thatway. I really don't, because I
think they catered to twodifferent groups of people, and
universal was well aware of thatup until recently. Now they're
trying to be like a family park, but I remember all as a kid, oh,
(01:02:14):
we're for the big kids. We'refor the you know, like, that
was, like, their whole shtickwas that they were more for,
like, older kids. And, you know, because Disney was quote, baby
and universal wasn't. But thennow they're realizing they're
missing out on a huge market.
And you know, what do you do?
Yeah, and I think that's like, back when universal was starting
(01:02:35):
to do that, then like, Disneypanicked. It opened Hollywood
studios, and it was kind of likethey had no clue what was going
on, even though I've alwaysloved Hollywood Studios. But
like, it was kind of like thatwas their answer to universal.
Then universal opened is anadventure, which was also like,
kind of a nightmare during, likethe opening times of it. And now
universal, yeah, adventure, that's what I mean. Like there's
(01:02:59):
a lot of stuff that, instead ofrenovating it, they're opening
up. Opening up a third gate, yeah, because, or we'll pay them
a fourth because their waterpark counts, which, to me, it
doesn't so but, like, that's howuniversal, like, they have the
budget to do one or the other, yeah? And Disney's choosing to
renovate and keep things fresh, which I think they have the
luxury to do, because they havefour huge theme parks. And I
(01:03:22):
think that's smarter to keepthings like refreshed than try
to open up something that youdon't want to hire for the
infrastructure for Yeah, orcan't, you know. So keep things
Yeah, because if Disney was toopen up another theme park,
they'd need more hotels, theywould need 1000s of more cast
members like it would just onjust over the last you know.
(01:03:45):
Think of it like there hasn'tbeen anything since animal
kingdom. And that's what beenwhat 26 525, years over. So it's
likethey have everything down to a
science. From like this is howlong a bus should take from here
to here. This is all thetransportation that's available
once you throw a whole other, like, anything in there, yeah,
it completely blows up every 25years of research. Yeah, that's
(01:04:06):
half the time that Disney's beenin existence. Yeah. So it's
like, that would just bedetrimental, a nightmare. And
whenever they're trying to,like, gain money
that I don't think that's welland, like, I'm already nervous
for epic universe, because, frommy understanding, you're gonna
have to park at the universalparking garage and then be
bussed over to Epic universe. Ithink it's gonna be like, that's
(01:04:30):
gonna be a nightmare. Sorry, that's going to be a nightmare.
I think it's gonna be a lot moreof an I think the only reason
that people are asking for it isbecause all we've seen from Epic
universe is essentially conceptart. So it's like, I think once
you actually get in there, like,of course there's, it's going to
be neat because it's new, but Ithink once the initial like,
excitement wears off, it's goingto be a nightmare. And, like, I
(01:04:52):
don't think it's going to bewhat universal like, thinks that
it's going to be, yeah, forthem. But, I mean, I'm curious.
I'm mainly curious about.
All the universals, monstersarea of that me too, bull park,
but I don't know. I would nevergo there within the first year
of opening, yeah, or at least,at least the first six months,
like, because I just like, knowhow that shit works. Yeah, it's
(01:05:13):
gonna be really, really busy. SoI don't know that's just my kind
of two cents on people being sobutthurt about a fifth gate and
trying to all in the name ofepic universe, you know? And
it's just to me, those serve twolike, obviously things overlap.
But let's be honest, themajority of people who are going
to universal and Disney World ona regular basis are locals and
(01:05:38):
cast members. That's about it.
Yeah, it's not even all locals.
It's mainly cast members. Yeah,well, it's a fraction of
everybody. So, um,at the end of the day, I'm,
I'm really excited abouteverything that Disney
announced. So as long as theydon't go out on any of it,
cancel a bunch of stuff nextyear, quietly, like, if all of
(01:06:01):
this actually pans out, I thinkthat it's a really, really solid
expansion to what we alreadyhave, which is really solid,
like a wide variety of people, too, right?
So overall, much better than thelast D 23 Yeah, definitely.
