Speaker 1 (00:00):
Welcome to the Yoga Nation, the Spirit of Gratitude
podcast on the One Integrationplatform.
Hello friends, my name isYogesh Patel and this podcast
explores the themes of bullying,self-awareness and the power of
our inner spirit, including thesilent battles we all face.
Join me every week as I invitehigh-profile guests, as we
explore how adversity shapes us,how gratitude lifts us and how

(00:24):
we can all uncover the innerstrength that we all have within
ourselves.
Join the conversation.
I appreciate you listening in.
We really love your supportAgain, the ability to tag the
Oak Nation, share with yourfriends and family.
More importantly, importantly, what does this meet night mean

(00:45):
for you inside in your heart?
That's really the energy that Iwant to be able to project with
all of you tonight.
That is my ask and with thatagain, if there are individuals,
organizations, folks in themedia that would benefit from
listening to this messaging ofthe podcast, which is not about
me, I am simply the messenger, gene, you are the message.

(01:09):
Tobin, you are the message.
Matthew, earl Jones, you arethe message.
That's really what it's allabout here and it's kind of like
I just want to knock some senseinto people.
I think that's what it comesdown to again, the world is
unkind, it's unfair, unjust.
But if there's good messagingout there, if there's good
leadership, if there's goodmentors, great things are going

(01:33):
to happen.

Speaker 3 (01:43):
You know I did.
I was telling a few peopleearlier when I did the podcast
videocast with Yogi last fall Iwas living in the south of

(02:09):
France, in Monaco, that you know, I usually don't get in
interviews from Yogi, and youknow what I realized afterward,
and I think you know one of thereasons I'm a sponsor of this
and a believer in what Yogi isdoing with Yacht Nation is, when
you meet entrepreneurs, founders, ceos, if they don't

(02:32):
have authenticity which Yogiclearly does if they don't have
tenacity, which he needs to haveto build the business he's
building, and if they're notintelligent, then it's almost
over.
No matter how good the pitchdeck is, no matter how good the

(02:53):
product market fit all the usualventure capital sort of cliches
are.
And then, finally, integrity.
I worked for a venture capitalfirm before the one I currently
do and they had a rule thatanyone on the investment
committee could kill aninvestment based on the creep

(03:14):
factor.
And you wouldn't believe howmany people lie on their resumes
.
They don't disclose theirbackgrounds.
In fact, I helped my son startwhat is now a very successful
background check company calledFive Star Background Checks.
If you need that, fivestarbackgroundcom Cheap shoe

(03:35):
, yeah you know.
Do you want a CFO that'sdeclared personal bankruptcy?
Three times?
Probably not.
Bankruptcy three times,Probably not.
Do you want a resume fraudsterwho says they went to Harvard
when all they did was get aweekend certificate?
That's all over the LinkedIn'swho probably know I say no to

(03:55):
that.
And then I guess I'll justfinish up by saying I really
believe in the sincerity of whatYogi is doing.

Speaker 2 (04:18):
Gratitude to me is a superpower and you have to
practice it, just like youpractice prayer or just like you
practice, you know, uh, tryingto be nice to the brother-in-law
.
You can't stand when you makeyourself a better person, you
make people around you a betterperson, but you become a better

(04:39):
person when you practicegratitude and you do it daily.
And, yes, you can do.
You know, you can buy appsright now, but I'm just telling
you, go and chat gpt, say hey, create me an app for me, do this
, this and this.
It'll be on your phone in about10 seconds.
Right, but for me, what I foundis I've had, you know, big
successes, big blows in between.
I have a twin brother, I meanthat's.

(05:02):
I don't know if I'm gratitudefor that.
Okay, to be honest with you, Iam.
But when you put it alltogether, you build this pyramid
of strength and there's a baseto it, and as you build the base
, you then ping against that.
I'm in the money managementbusiness.
I do venture capital, investing.

(05:24):
They don't all work out.
I don't know if you know thatIn the last you know, let's say
60 days, it was sort of fun towake up and see what was going
to happen.
If you didn't like today, justwait till tomorrow.
Well, you can get bitchy aboutthat and you can be whiny about
that, or you can girl up or manup and say you know what?

(05:47):
I'm living on a pyramid ofstrength that my forefathers and
my friends and my relationshipsgave me.
Shut up, get up and make ithappen.

Speaker 5 (06:10):
So there's a rule that I've developed recently If
you fear something and yourheart is in the right place, you
have to do it.
You have no choice.
There is no better way to helpthe world or to grow yourself
than facing fears and doing goodthings for this world.
So that is your checklist, folks, if there's something
you're afraid of, thank you.
If there's something you'reafraid of, if you fear it and

(06:34):
your heart is in the right place, you have to do it.
I met Yogi and I tell you mystory because you can notice the
similarities in this.
Yogi had the same issues thathe dealt with with bullying,
that frustration, thathelplessness and the lack of
kind, good messaging in theworld and that's what I love to

(06:56):
be a part of with the YogiNation is because I know Yogi's
heart is in a very similar place.
We need good messaging in theworld.
You're all amazing people.
Look at this community thatcomes together from an idea that
Yogi had that was Yohasian.
It's unbelievable and I see howhard because I work probably
closer with you than anybody onthe podcast, probably know more

(07:17):
about it, right, and so I can'ttell you how long he plans out
an episode, how much he putsinto it.
I produce a lot of podcasts.
Nobody works as hard as Yogidoes to put out a podcast in
Caravan.
This sort of messaging is thething that changes the world.
And although Yogi and I haveour ups and downs and it takes
him six months to listen to me,I'm glad.

(07:40):
I'm glad that he has thatstubbornness, because sticking
to something when your heart'sin the right place is the
surefire way to win it, and Ihave no doubt we'll be here at
Yog Nation number sevencelebrating an amazing next
season.
Thank you so much.
Thank you, yogi, for all you'redoing for the world.

(08:02):
The world truly needs morekind-hearted badass just like
you what I do in my life is agenerosity expert.

Speaker 6 (08:21):
I founded my company almost 15 years ago is invite
people on a journey to begenerous.
That's our motto, that's ourtagline hi, beautiful people hi
they're stealing the show.
They are, but they deserve itand it was very hard for me to

(08:42):
ask for help.
You are the lowest of the low.
You don't look like what youfeel like, or maybe you do
because you feel pretty bad, butyou don't look like the you
that you know yourself to be.
And that's very hard becausepeople stare, people don't smile

(09:02):
sometimes, smile sometimes andimagine me bald, no eyebrows, no
hair like, no eyelashes, much, much bigger in size.
People don't treat people likethat very kindly, but there were
a lot of people who did andthat generosity of heart and

(09:23):
that generosity of care whenyou're feeling so bad, y'all.
I woke up and when I went toevery chemo treatment, malik, my
sweet husband, who is the rockbehind the rock that cared for
me, and my mom, I'll tell you, painted on my eyebrows, I put on
that lipstick, I put on mynicest outfit and the nurses in

(09:44):
the infusion room were like, damn girl, you look good.
And I was like, yeah, thank you.
Now give me the poison and theytreat me and not harm me too
bad, because literally one ofthe things I had was called the
red devil, for any of you whoknow what breast cancer chemo is
like.
But my point is again ask forhelp.

(10:05):
People generous.
This rooftop is full of peoplewho are generous and kind, and I
guess it's just surprising, inmoments of life when you're so
low and don't think that there'sgoing to be support, that there
can be generous yourself with asmile, with an offering, with a

(10:28):
kind word, with your resources.
Do it because, at the end ofthe day, all we got is how we
treat one another.
So I want to thank yogi, I wantto thank all of you, and may
you guys have a beautiful nightand blessings.

Speaker 4 (10:59):
The older you get, the less desirable you are, and
that needs to stop, because inother cultures you're wise,
you're seeked out.
People think you are wise, eventhough we're just making it up,
like everybody is, but theydon't know that in other
cultures and so they value it.
And you know, we do know a lotof things.

(11:19):
We could be helping you guysout if you would just ask.
But you know the thing that hesaid.
That was the point of my thingonce you have a hater, you've
made it.
I got my first hater it was mydaughter because my husband's an
IT guy.
He could track the IP addressand that was kind of cool and
sad at the same time and I wastelling somebody about it.

(11:42):
They said once you have a hater, though you've made it, because
unless somebody, it means you,you make a difference, people
are noticing you.
So I took all of those littlecomments and I cut them up and I
made a video and in the videothey were little bees and I just
flicked them away and I didblank out their name.
They did not get credit forthat and I did change the way I

(12:04):
look a little bit, a little bitfit in a little better with you,
know whatever.
But I tell you what, whatever.
But I tell you what myconfidence has changed.
Because when those numbersstarted going up in April of 24,
I said on my birthday in May of25, I'm going to get a silver

(12:26):
play button from YouTube.
There aren't very many women myage that have one.
I'm going to do do it.
And do you know when I achievedthat?

Speaker 7 (12:35):
two weeks before my birthday what I have today was a
dream three years ago, right.
What I have today, like 10 yearold me in middle school being

(12:58):
bullied would have like he wouldhave been ecstatic, you know.
And so I started reallythinking of reality and just
appreciating the beauty of thepresent, the moment, right now.
What we have, right, I have myhands, I have my legs, I have
the ability to produce and grow.
Right, and I just startedshowing love to reality, you

(13:18):
know, and little did I know, that's gratitude, right.
And when my uncle released hispodcast and I watched a few
episodes, I was like, wow, likegratitude is a powerful,
powerful thing, you know.
Like just accepting and justbeing happy and content with
what we have now.
You, you know, like buildingwithout gratitude is like trying
to climb a mountain and notseeing a view.

(13:39):
Right, it's like what's thepoint?
And so I think this messagethat my uncle is trying to
spread to the world is sofreakin powerful.
If little kids my age, if I hadlearned this when I was in
middle school, when I was inhigh school maybe I don't, maybe
I would have enjoyed theprocess, maybe what I would have
, like, you know, created biggerthings, right, and so I'm just
so happy to see everyone heretoday, you know, supporting my

(14:03):
uncle's message to the worldthat you know we have to show
gratitude, we have to understand, you know, what's going on in
our life and appreciate it, andthat's really the pillars of
building a great life, and so Iwant to thank everybody out
today for coming here andsupporting him.
And we need to grow thispodcast, guys, if you guys have
any recommendations and anyonein your network that can help

(14:27):
grow this podcast, be a supportsystem to my uncle, I would
greatly appreciate it.
Okay, thank you, guys onceagain for coming out.
