Transforming Perspectives |
God calls believers to be spiritually attuned to hear and respond to his voice. Hearing does not require physical ears. The voice of God is heard spiritually and its efficacy is understanding in lessons learned through obedience. Hearing firstly entails God drawing men closer and means to stand at attention, to allow the words spoken to enter the perceptions of understanding and to harken his voice in mood, tone and intent of the words and react in obedience.
Biblically, having hearing ears is not a onetime enactment instead is the spiritual efficacy of God’s spoken word embodied in continual acts of obedience and doing God’s will in every circumstance.
Biblical Principle |
Hearing the voice of God is preeminent to obedience and understanding.
Matthew 13:15 For this people's heart is waxed gross, and their ears are dull of hearing, and their eyes they have closed; lest at any time they should see with their eyes, and hear with their ears, and should understand with their heart, and should be converted, and I should heal them.
