In this episode, we talk with Tom Whitney who on July 9th, 2021, was mauled by a grizzly bear while trail running in Island Park, ID. Tom, who was in the wrong place, at the wrong time, will go into detail describing his scary and up-close encounter with a female/momma grizzly bear. This aggressive bear was out to protect her cub and didn’t want Tom anywhere near the area.
You know, grizzly bear attacks are very rare, but when they happen, generally the outcome is not good, for the individual or the bear. When you have a chance to talk to someone who survived an attack, it makes for a gripping story and captivating podcast. You might even want to share this episode with a friend.
