Navigating Nova Scotia's roundabouts is just the beginning of Bobby D's adventures in the latest episode of You Would Think. Fresh from getting his 100K YouTube plaque for his fitness channel, Bobby recounts how a simple drive turned into an impromptu speed test on empty roads, followed by an unexpected street race against a classic Trans Am on Bedford Highway – "For four sets of lights, we hooked for all four sets... Mr. Trans Am, I beat your ass!"

The laughs continue as Bobby shares his recent RCMP visit for a criminal record check that took an unexpected turn when they called him back immediately after leaving. Someone shares his exact name and birthdate, causing confusion in the system: "I'm pretty sure it's not me. Fingers crossed." This prompts Mikey to recount their border crossing nightmares, including being interrogated about a mysterious "Bruce" with the same last name.

NBA talk dominates as the hosts break down the astronomical contracts recently signed by Shai Gilgeous-Alexander and Devin Booker, marveling at how the league is approaching "a million dollars a game" for star players. They offer candid insights about Bronny James and Cooper Flagg's summer league performances, noting how the media focuses on Bronny despite Cooper's superior talent. Music memories surface through discussions of Pearl Jam drummer Matt Cameron's departure and Scarlett Johansson becoming the highest-grossing actor of all time.

The episode wraps with hilarious reflections on their youthful adventures at ski hills, including encounters with "Big Bertha" (a bong, not a person) and impassioned commentary on proper highway lane etiquette. Join these longtime friends for stories that range from everyday frustrations to wild adventures from their past, all delivered with their signature blend of candor and humor. So if you're not, we're not old.

Speaker 1 (00:27):
We're not old, we're just, uh, we're old, okay.
So if you look back here, youcan see we have the hundred
thousand plaque from YouTube, uh, for my actual channel, uh,
coach Bobby, that I run calledmuscle and fiction, but we're
putting it here because Mike'smy buddy and we're sharing it,
so we're doing.

(00:47):
Well, come watch us on muscleand fiction If you're interested
in fitness.
That's where I'm doing myfitness stuff and our podcast is
also up there as well, and youcan watch it on Apple and
Spotify and other places tooBuzzsprout, all right, yep, okay
.
So I was late coming to thestudio today, mike.
Now I'm new to Nova Scotia.

(01:08):
Recently I came back from beingaway a long time prison, but I
didn't want to say that, youknow I got out bitches.

Speaker 2 (01:14):
Is that what you're calling Good lawyer?
Is that what you're callingyour first marriage?
Yeah?

Speaker 1 (01:19):
Conjugal visits were not good, that's right.
She used to fuck me.
I don't know why that.
Okay, so his name was jimmy.
I don't understand that.
Um, jimmy I got I got a big setof tits.
Jimmy had big tits.
Yeah, jimmy, good old jimmy.
Everybody misses jimmy.
Anyway, go see jimmy's on.
Uh, poor, uh, only fan.

(01:40):
So I'm late to the studio todaybecause I got lost driving.
Now, why did I get lost?
Well, nova Scotia, mike seemsto love these roundabouts now.

Speaker 2 (01:51):
I like them.

Speaker 1 (01:52):
Okay, I like them too , but I'm fucking lying.
I don't like them.
And here's why, if, if you'renot in the exact right lane,
like so I knew where, I couldsee where I wanted to go, I need
a new pair of sneakers, I wanta white pair of sneakers.
So I wanted to go to sportcheck so I can see where I

(02:13):
wanted to go, and all I did was, instead of going down, I went
up, right it's.
The sign was big enough, it wasin two lanes, so I went okay,
and then I went up.
And then it goes dark, messwent great, mm-hmm.
So I'm driving.
There's no turn, and they knowthat people are going to you
turn.
There's a fence the whole wayin the middle, like the whole
way.
So I'm thinking, well, this isgood chance to try out the new

(02:34):
Lexus, because there's no cars.
Mm-hmm, dude, allegedly I wasdoing 185, allegedly, allegedly.
Here's the thing there's nobodyon the road, there's nobody on
either side, right, like.
It reminded me of covid whennobody's driving but I'm just
like there's no cars.

Speaker 2 (02:50):
That's weird.
For a day like today it wasweird, but I don't think anybody
want.

Speaker 1 (02:54):
I didn't even know where I was going yeah, yeah,
right so, anyway, I got toanother roundabout, okay, and so
I I slowed down to 30 and went, okay, and then try to gauge
ahead and then get back on, andthen I found my way to you, okay
, so that's the driving storyfor why I'm late to the studio.
So I apologize for you waitingfor whatever.
Yeah, all right now.
The second thing was, um,recently, uh, I got a new

(03:18):
license plate, uh, for my, formy car.
I didn't have one, so now Ihave a new plate and, uh, I
don't know my license platenumber, right, sure?

Speaker 2 (03:29):
that's new.
Why would you well I?
I got a vanity plate oh, didyou, yeah, okay, yeah, I got a
vanity plate and it says uh washers.

Speaker 1 (03:37):
So that's for my other wife.

Speaker 2 (03:38):
This is I took this all that money about this car
right, so, but uh, now here'sthe thing.

Speaker 1 (03:43):
So when I came into Lexus the other day, people that
know, know.
So I come in the BedfordHighway to go up Sorry, I didn't
come in the Bedford Highway Iwent back to Bedford Highway.
I came in the highway highwayand drove along Joseph Howe,
okay.
Now you know, there's like one, two, four sets of lights there.
So this guy pulls up in theSmokey and the Bandit, trans, am

(04:06):
beside me at the first set oflights.
So I look at him, he looks atme.
I'm like, okay, I know, youknow what's happening here.
So for four sets, allegedly forfour sets of lights, we hooked
for all four sets, like all four, do, do, do.
And you're already going knowthis, mr Trans, am I beat your
ass?
I beat your ass.
Okay, six-speed manual fuckingthing in second, third year.

(04:29):
My neck hurts.
Right and he just left and he'slike right on buddy.

Speaker 2 (04:33):
Yeah, yeah so anyway, but beautiful car.
I gave him that.
It was a beautiful.
I thought where you're goingwas when you hit up to that.
No right turns on the red lightpart where you get up onto the
102 that that the guy wentaround you or something no, but
that's that's the yeah, that'sthat's the other way, that's
when I can't, so yeah oh yeah, that's a new thing.
Yeah, yeah that's not the onlyplace, apparently no, they put
them in a few spots, they putthem in a bunch of places and I

(04:54):
heard on the radio peoplebitching and complaining about
and they're like, hey, man, readthe rules.

Speaker 1 (05:00):
One guy get out of his car I've heard walked behind
, yeah, and said hey, the rulesare like you know, and the
person's like yeah, so, yeah, because they got honked at, yeah
, because they stopped.

Speaker 2 (05:09):
Because they stopped, they're actually following the
rules, following the right turnon the red.
Yeah, right turn on red now.

Speaker 1 (05:15):
Uh, so that's fine, all right.
So driving in general, we'regoing to come back to that in a
minute, but right now I want totalk about my criminal
background.
Yeah, or my criminal record.
Back you're being criminalbeing a criminal, being a
criminal so since you just gotout of jail right right ever
tell you about the mug shots.

(05:36):
No, don't even bother takingmug shots anymore, just let me
pick from the book oh, that'sfrom previous ones.

Speaker 2 (05:41):
Right, there's no points.

Speaker 1 (05:42):
You know, yeah, all right, so anyway, anyway, I have
to go get fingerprints donethrough a criminal records check
because I'm applying for jobs.
I was going to retire, butthere's so many cool jobs out
there right now, mike and Idon't have any money.
So you know, living in my car, yeah, all right, so turns out I

(06:03):
go.
Ladies very nice.
Uh, you know which happenssometimes.
All right, so ladies very nice.
She tells me yeah, she says okay, fill this out and fill all the
paperwork out, put the namethat I'm not going to say where
I'm going to work, and, uh, shegoes okay.
So we'll call you if there's aproblem and I go okay.
Well, what kind of problem?
Well, you know, if somebodyelse has a warrant out or

(06:27):
they're wanted and they have thesame name.
You've been out of the countryfor quite a few years and the
same out of the country jail.

Speaker 2 (06:35):
I've gotten a few letters remember which I might
still have here.
That just seem so random that, yeah, do you remember these?
Possibly They'd come in and itwas like uh-oh.
Yeah, has somebody got myidentity right now.
Yeah, we thought about that.
Yeah, yeah, yeah.

Speaker 1 (06:46):
It all worked out in the end.
Yeah Well, actually, maybe itdidn't this son of a bitch,
maybe it didn't.

Speaker 2 (06:50):
Yeah.

Speaker 1 (06:59):
Okay, so anyway.
So anyway, the lady tells meyou goes, it doesn't work that
way.
I'm like, okay, I'm not home.
Five minutes after I left theRSMP, the phone rings.
I answer the phone.
Hi, it's Sandy.
I'm like, okay, she goes, yougot to come back in.
I'm like, okay.
So basically what that means isthis Somebody has the exact
same birth date as me, right, and the exact same name as Okay,

(07:20):
so they have to prove that I'mnot the person that the warrants
out for that, whatever.

Speaker 2 (07:28):
And I'm like well, I'm pretty sure it's not me.
Fingers crossed.
Pretty sure, did I ever tellyou what?
The time we got stopped at theStates going down crossing the
border?
And it was not my name, it wasjust same last name, uh-oh.
And they said are you but yourbrother's a son of a bitch?
What's your relation to Bruce?
I don't have a Bruce.
Oh well, we have a Bruce onfile here?

Speaker 1 (07:48):
Of course they do.

Speaker 2 (07:49):
And anyway, we were at.

Speaker 1 (07:50):
They're wonderful American police ossifers.

Speaker 2 (07:52):
Oh, we were stuck there for probably an hour
getting grilled on myrelationship.
On who the hell Bruce is On whothis guy is, because we had the
same last name.
That was it, nothing else butyep.

Speaker 1 (08:01):
Whoever the fuck you are, bruce Duguay, kiss my ass,
cause our boy some problems.
That's bullshit, bruce.

Speaker 2 (08:11):
We don't know who Bruce is.
You know there was another timewe were going across the border
and this one was better.
But we're going down and we'rebringing my wife's mom down to
go visit the relatives downthere?

Speaker 1 (08:21):
Sure, yeah, but we had a bunch of stuff in the car.
Sure, yeah, yeah, well, we hada bunch of stuff in this place,
right here.

Speaker 2 (08:24):
Yeah, we had a bunch of car stuff in the car.
So we pull up and I hand thepassports over and they said, oh
, you're giving us threepassports we only see two years.
Like, oh, no, mother-in-law'sin the back, but we had so much
stuff in the car they couldn'tstuff.

(08:48):
It's like, oh, we're justbringing it down to my
sister-in-law, oh, you'reallowed to go on vacation too.
Right, again we got pulledaside again because they thought
we're bringing that, we'rebringing claude's mom down and
gonna leave her down there inthe states.
Right, yeah, now that probablywouldn't fly now, but back then
they let us through.
But we still got grilledmother-in-law.

Speaker 1 (08:58):
Yeah, I got a story for you about a mother-in-law.
So, uh, we were out in the youknow bad part of the
neighborhood where we grew upthere and uh, you know, my
grandmother everybody's hey,your grandmother is having a
problem.
We look outside and there'sthree guys whooping my grandma
and they're like aren't yougonna go help?
And I said no, I'm pretty sureshe's got them yeah, yeah.

Speaker 2 (09:17):
So yeah, you don't mess with my grandma.

Speaker 1 (09:19):
Right, my grandma worked on the docks.

Speaker 2 (09:21):
Okay, okay, she's a Lebanese mafia right, but yeah,
yeah, yeah, so she handled thatno problem.

Speaker 1 (09:26):
Now I have to go this Wednesday to get my
fingerprints done.
I'm a little concerned, so I'mgoing to keep you on speed dial
for that day.
I'm in the RCMB again.
Yeah, right, you know.

Speaker 2 (09:39):
I can vouch for them.
Yep Right, but here's theproblem.

Speaker 1 (09:42):
I?
I give you this.
What's the difference between afriend and a best friend?
It's pretty simple.
So, after a hard night ofdrinking and whatever you're
doing, right, you're both in theclink jail, right?
You're looking at each othergoing wow, it was a hell of a
night.
Right, that's a, that's afriend.
A best friend is the guy whocomes and bails both you idiots

(10:05):
out and says, hey, man, smartenup, you're 47 years old with
three kids.
Yeah, weary clothes.
That's another story.

Speaker 2 (10:12):
Right, yeah, yeah All right.

Speaker 1 (10:14):
So another way you can find a best friend or a
friend.
A friend will help you moveyour house?
Yeah, Not me.
I have a bad back fromhigh-risk maneuvers in the
bedroom, getting out of bed anda best friend will help you move
a body right, right, by the way, the new Lexus three-body trunk
.
It's impressive, impressive,yes.

Speaker 2 (10:35):
Okay now, Mike.
Now will a best friend kind oflike start to ask my wife
questions while she's digging asix-foot hole in the backyard?

Speaker 1 (10:41):
I've already asked those questions and I went.
That's way too big for one andI went wait a minute.

Speaker 2 (10:48):
Okay, honestly, I just want a pond.

Speaker 1 (10:51):
There's a six foot.
I mean, I measured it.
It's six feet deep and it's adouble wide like baby grand
piano and between the two theremust be a third.
There might be a third.

Speaker 2 (11:02):
There might be a third.
Yeah, is the neighbor beenpissing her off lately, right,
maybe you know we don't know, wedon't know.

Speaker 1 (11:08):
I mean, you know what I was watching today, mike.
I saw some highlights.

Speaker 2 (11:15):
I saw Bronny James.
Remember him, I do, yeah.

Speaker 1 (11:25):
Against Cooper Flagg, that one Against Cooper Flagg
and Cooper Aitam a little bit,but uh, brawny held his own a
little bit too.
So yeah, but I'll tell you this, the interview, this is what's
so stupid.
They don't interview cooperflag after the game, they
interview brawny.
They interview brawny.
I'm like are you kidding me?
So they say you know what doyou think of cooper flag?

Speaker 2 (11:36):
what are you gonna say?

Speaker 1 (11:37):
right, all right.
The white boy terrible.
What are you gonna say?
He's gonna say exactly what hesaid coached.
He's gonna be a hell of aplayer.
This guy's going to be a greatplayer Unbelievable skills,
talent for the age unreal.
Well-deserved of the firstround.
He's only 18.
He is going to be a hell of aplayer I'm telling you right now
he is.
He's very skilled, very brightit seems, Makes the right plays,

(12:01):
and he's the one thing I'veanything.

Speaker 2 (12:03):
I've watched him play some college games and
everything you hear about him isthat he just plays the right
way, so I so what I read, thatfirst game, or what I saw from
the highlights as well, didn'thave a great game but they put
him at point.
Jason kid said he wants to givehim a try.
So getting picked up full court, you know, with guys that are

(12:24):
his size probably way more thanhim.

Speaker 1 (12:27):
Men, men, nba, no boys allowed.
Guys who have some experienceright.

Speaker 2 (12:31):
And he struggled a little bit, but I think he only
had one turnover the whole game, which is pretty impressive,
right.

Speaker 1 (12:35):
Like you said, he's 18.
This is it.

Speaker 2 (12:38):
He's 18, but he makes the right plays, he knows what
he's doing, so I think he's gota bright future right I think
he's got a hell of a.

Speaker 1 (12:44):
It's not.
It's not a hot take, by the way.

Speaker 2 (12:45):
Yeah, yeah yeah, you know number one overall.
Everybody knew where he wasgoing I think we feel pretty
safe.

Speaker 1 (12:51):
I think so.
I think we feel pretty safe.
There now the big thing wetalked about our boy sga making
all that money and then now wehave another boy, devin devin
book, devin booker.
He comes out and signs just afew million more for the two
years.

Speaker 2 (13:06):
Yeah, it was just a couple days later.

Speaker 1 (13:07):
Yeah, a couple days later, If you're giving SGA this
.

Speaker 2 (13:09):
I want more.

Speaker 1 (13:11):
Listen, there's no way that didn't happen in the
management office.
They went okay, we're going tore-sign.
You go, okay.
Have you seen on Instagram SGA?

Speaker 2 (13:29):
Yeah more than that.
Yeah, okay, how much I don'tcare.
Well, you just traded away kd.

Speaker 1 (13:31):
Right, so there's money trying to figure out a way
to get rid of beal.
Yeah, what happened?
You're telling me you want tobuild around me.
Give me the money, right?
Yep, kuba, goody jr, show methe money.
Yeah, right, and I love devon,I love me too great player.

Speaker 2 (13:39):
But I don't know, man , what's that 145, is it 145?
Yeah well, we were talkingabout this.

Speaker 1 (13:46):
We're not far away, having a million dollars a game
a million dollars a game here.

Speaker 2 (13:50):
So somebody is going to be making 82 million a year
here.
Someone's going to be they'regoing to be getting paid a
million dollars a game.
That's crazy.

Speaker 1 (13:55):
Look, I'm quiet here's the thing I can think of
being 300 years old and going toschool with jesus.
I remember when, babe ruth, they gave him a big deal in
major league baseball thereright, don't ask me how much it
was, but he said this he goes.
Uh, we're not.
He didn't say this.
One of the sports announcerssaid oh, pretty soon, these,
these athletes are going to makeas much as the president.

(14:15):
Yeah, okay, the president wishhe could make this much money.
Yeah, yeah, because thepresident would give up and go
into basketball.
Right, you know?
So I don't know.
Anyway, it is what it is.
Now they come out and say likethis is a big shock.
Oh, halliburton's 0-3 here, mike, do you know why?
Why, well, it was ACL, ofcourse.

(14:36):
Well, everybody knows he's overfor a year.
Yeah, how was that big news?

Speaker 2 (14:39):
Well, I think the news is that he's like.
I think they're already sayingwe're just not even going to
bring him back.

Speaker 1 (14:44):
Well, there's no point, right Same with Tatum.

Speaker 2 (14:47):
I don't think they've announced on Tatum.

Speaker 1 (14:49):
They haven't announced anything.

Speaker 2 (14:53):
But just don't come back.
Don't be stupid, Lillard ohwell, you know, imagine if
Lillard goes and signs with youknow Golden State.
What a lineup that would beLillard's not coming back next
year either.

Speaker 1 (15:01):
No, that's two, three man.

Speaker 2 (15:03):
There's a thing.
So we were talking about thatMind the Game podcast.
So KD was talking about youknow, once he had his Look at
all the top-level players.
But what he was saying waswhere Lillard's going to be able
to do those like kind ofsidestep deep threes anymore,
because you're not going to havethat same kind of power right,
right.
So it'll be interesting to seehow lillard game lillard's game

(15:24):
changes with this entry rightwell, I mean, everybody's game
changed right.

Speaker 1 (15:27):
Kobe's too kobe's did you know now I'll be honest
with you.
I don't think drance changedthat much because of how he
plays.

Speaker 2 (15:34):
He's just what I mean because he's raised up over
seven feet tall and's like.

Speaker 1 (15:38):
I don't have to jump, I can just here walk me Right
you know he's Adam and he's6'11" I think.

Speaker 2 (15:43):
Is that what it is?
Does he say he's 6'11"?
Well, his wingspan is like 7'4".
Oh, it's ridiculous.

Speaker 1 (15:47):
But I remember when they actually I don't know when
it was, it was years back wherethey, you know, okay, six, eight
, we're gonna round it up.
Okay, six eight, now, no, sixten.
Okay, right, you know me.
So now I think it's the real, the real height.
Sure, yeah, because back in theday you had no idea.

(16:09):
And then you go well, he sayshe's seven feet, and he says
he's six nine, he's taller thanhe's taller than the other guy
and him what like, yeah, youjust scratch your camera angles
right.
Oh, it's the camera that's right.

Speaker 2 (16:21):
Well, you know what I ?

Speaker 1 (16:22):
need.

Speaker 2 (16:22):
I need a camera angle that's like up, so I look like
I'm seven feet tall, being fourfoot eleven and a hobbit yeah
like greg right now is sittingabout 10 feet in front of me,
just so that we look like we'rethis yeah, that's right
perspective totally perspectivenow being four foot nothing
whatever.
What did you?
Four foot, four foot 11 at mybest, you know I could buy those
lifts.

Speaker 1 (16:41):
Yeah, you can.

Speaker 2 (16:42):
Right, you know, now here's what you don't know.

Speaker 1 (16:44):
Do you know who Brad Williams is?
No, Brad Williams is a comedian.
He's a.
He's a little person.
Okay, Well, the thing is yeah,it's not true.
No, he said he's a littleperson.
That's the joke.
I got caught on it.

Speaker 2 (17:00):
I told you before, never underestimate what's
coming out of Bobby's mouth.
You never know what's real orwhat's not right.

Speaker 1 (17:07):
Muscle infection.
We tell a lot of good stories, but a lot of them are real.

Speaker 2 (17:10):
If you want to know the truth.

Speaker 1 (17:11):
I will tell you online.
You just write in.
Just write in but a lot oflisten, a lot of it is true, it
really is allegedly, allegedlyyeah it's a definite maybe.
Yeah, it's a definite, maybeall right.

Speaker 2 (17:23):
Now.
So talking about thosecontracts, yeah, go ahead.
So you know, we were talkingthe other day about I want one
of those contracts, mike.
We were talking on the lastpodcast about how the Lakers,
you know like they got two maxplayers and now they Now they're
screwed Yep, say all that andthen throughout this week, okay,
see, sign Shay.
Yeah, and they signed, check toa max extension.

(17:43):
They signed J Jalen, j Williams, what's his name?

Speaker 1 (17:47):
Uh, jalen, uh, it was Williams Williams.
Yeah, so they signed him to amax.

Speaker 2 (17:51):
So now they've got three guys to max contracts and
they've got a bunch of theirrole players still signed for
those mid-level oh they kepteverybody.
And they're not even going toexceed whatever that tier two or
level two threshold or whateverit is.

Speaker 1 (18:05):
It's 800 and some million, though it's crazy yeah.

Speaker 2 (18:08):
But Boston just ran into that right.

Speaker 1 (18:10):
Boston couldn't afford to keep everybody
together, couldn't afford tokeep them.

Speaker 2 (18:13):
So it'd be interesting.
I just can't see how OKC'sgoing to be able to continue to
do this but again the onedifference is is that you know
they've got those draft picksand there's so many.

Speaker 1 (18:24):
Yeah, it's not like it's one or two, it's like five
or seven or something, so theycan just keep somebody goes,
bring in somebody new oh, it'sjust you know, and they got a,
they got.

Speaker 2 (18:32):
They seem to be able to pick them right but here's
the other thing.

Speaker 1 (18:35):
You know, the money's flying right if you.
If you want to win everybodytakes less money and you could
stay together for a long timeand win, but nobody seems to
want to do that.
Like a couple guys over theyears, I'll take less so we can
get this guy in.
Did it work out?
Not really.

Speaker 2 (18:50):
Miami did.
Okay, that one did.
Ron Bosch and Wade took alittle bit less right.

Speaker 1 (18:55):
And you know what I feel so bad for Bosh having to
shorten his career like thatwith those blood clots.

Speaker 2 (19:00):
Oh, horrible.
Bosh was like.
I love Bosh.

Speaker 1 (19:02):
Love that guy man, great player, great player.

Speaker 2 (19:06):
Took a lot of shit when he went to Miami.

Speaker 1 (19:10):
How quick.

Speaker 2 (19:10):
People forgot how dominant and good that man was
in Toronto right and how quickhe just gone from the league,
just like that Gone Well, I'mworried.
Quick he just gone, like fromthe league, just and then just
like that, just like that gone.
Yeah, well, unfortunately, because braun leaves and then
it's finally like okay, now it'sbosh and wade.
Bosh has finally got hisopportunity to be.
Like okay, I don't need tolisten to all this crap about
being a third.

Speaker 1 (19:28):
Now I can do.
You know third.
You know third option.

Speaker 2 (19:30):
I can now be a second option.
Yeah, and now that crap happensto him, right?

Speaker 1 (19:33):
but I mean, who was the biggest?
That whole thing, remember.
I'm gonna take my talents tosouth beach way to go rich paul,
because I know that lebrondidn't want to do that hey, like
I said, the intent at the timewas good.

Speaker 2 (19:44):
He just it was poorly done, poorly done right yeah,
all that money from that uhannouncement went to whatever
charity.
It went to right like it was.
The good intent was good.
I know a lot of people thatthat's what turned a lot of
people off, my brother included.
It did I hated.

Speaker 1 (19:59):
I hated that guy after that right yeah, oh, I
didn't hate him, just like hecould have did better.
You know I hate the strongworld.

Speaker 2 (20:04):
I don't hate anybody hey, if that's the biggest
misstep, this guy's had come onman come on.

Speaker 1 (20:09):
No, no, no his biggest misstep is he's never
read malcolm x's book.

Speaker 2 (20:14):
It's on page one.

Speaker 1 (20:15):
It's still on page one.
My illiterate brother read itfor crying out loud yeah, peace
to you, bro yeah so yeah, I meanuh, just yeah.
So one of my favorite bands, mike pearl, jam.
Now we heard something.
What did you hear?

Speaker 2 (20:32):
uh, well, yeah, you and I were talking about it, I
think, um, the drummer mattcameron is.
Is uh calling it quits after?

Speaker 1 (20:39):
calling 20 some years , with 20 some years, but people
don't even know who did he playfor first soundguard?
Soundguard for 11 years.

Speaker 2 (20:47):
Well, you've been for a long time, until mid 90s,
late 90s yeah yeah and went topearl jam drum with them for a
while and then I think he wentback and was drumming for both
he was drumming for both forquite a few years after the fact
, and then the rumor around thewater cooler not our rumor, but
the rumor around the watercooler was he wanted the food
fighters job.

Speaker 1 (21:06):
But we already know that the food fighters just
hired a drummer I think so yeah, that's what we heard.
We don't we have to look thatup for sure, because that tyler
jamie pull that up, damn it, westill don't have jamie, we still
don't have a producer, we'relooking.
We're looking.
If you're interested in beingpaid in mothballs, sure, what

(21:26):
else?
Eggs, wait, wait a minute.
We can make a deal here.
We could make a deal, mike'sChickens, lay Faberge Eggs One
egg an episode.
One egg an episode Great offer.

Speaker 2 (21:36):
Great offer Eggs are expensive.

Speaker 1 (21:39):
Are they?
Are they?
Episode one egg and a greatoffer.
Great offer eggs are expensive.
Are they?
Are they?
Yeah, because where I came fromthey're not.
But okay, yeah, but here, they're, here, yeah I just
bought some.

Speaker 2 (21:45):
I should have checked the price.
Well, I don't.
Actually I shouldn't say Ihaven't bought eggs in a while
now well, of course you got athing on back that makes them
you have a machine that's right,an egg machine, egg machine now
.

Speaker 1 (21:54):
Oh, I forgot to say this to go along with my driving
bullshit this morning.
So I was going to the gym.
I go to the gym early, it'slike 5 am.
I'm like, oh shit, really lowon gas.
I usually don't let that happen, but I forgot, sure.
So I go to the gas station, gotmy credit card, put her in.
You know, nothing works.
I'm like, okay.
Then I, jesus, it's like theyoung fella inside.

(22:25):
I'm like what, dude?
So I try again.
Then I thought so I walk inside, I go.
I can't really hear you overthe thing.
I said, what's up, he goes.
You can only use pumps four toeight and you have to pay inside
, right?
I'm like, okay, no problem.
I said to be nice if there wasa sign.
Yeah, yeah, he goes.

Speaker 2 (22:40):
I know there's no sign, oh really yeah, they
usually yeah, cause, like you'll, we'll see, right, they, they
shut them off overnight.

Speaker 1 (22:46):
Well, they're all on, the lights are all on, they're
all flashing.
So I just so I pulled up, youknow, came to 50, 19 or whatever
.
It was Right, okay, so noproblem.
So I go to the gym.
I get home I check my phonebecause it always says or I
don't check my phone, just comesup you get notifications 250,
yeah that's the.

Speaker 2 (23:05):
Uh, you got a.
Uh, what's the call?
Where you actually have to,like you're the.
You got to allow a limit orwhatever right.
You gotta say, except, do youaccept the 250 minimum charge or
whatever right?

Speaker 1 (23:16):
and then you still only get charged for the where
does this, this come from?
This is new to me, michael, explain this to me, because I
went and bought a gun, you payat the pumps.
Allegedly.

Speaker 2 (23:25):
You can still set it to whatever you want.
You have options to say, youknow, do you want to set it at a
different number?

Speaker 1 (23:31):
I didn't have any options, I just rang up my visa
$250.
No, oh, so it's not real money,it's just.

Speaker 2 (23:38):
Yeah, they just like you know.
They'll put the hold on it for$250 and then they charge you
what you actually paid and thenyou get reimbursed the rest.
So it never comes.
You'll see it on your visastatement.

Speaker 1 (23:49):
There'll be a, I understand but I just want to
say to everybody watching andwhoever did this to my fucking
bank card you motherfuckers, Idid not know this.
I looked at my.
I'm going to have to call thebank.

with my credit card and otherthings I'm like is this one more
thing, If I have to go backthere one more time.

(24:09):
I mean, you know, it's kind oflike how you get out of grade
six.
Your dad had to burn thebuilding to the ground Did he go
to?
Grade seven.

Speaker 2 (24:16):
That was a teacher, Allegedly that was a teacher.
He just said no, no, his mark'sgoing to be higher than that.
That's right, that's right.

Speaker 1 (24:23):
But yeah, so Pearl Jam, one of the other things, oh
.

Speaker 2 (24:26):
I was going to say before we move on.

Speaker 1 (24:28):
We don't have to move on Go ahead, so I don't know
it's our podcast.
I think you forgot up more orwhatever.
You're not.
That's it.

Speaker 2 (24:43):
Um did you ever see pearl jam in live?
Yeah, no, okay, so I I've seenthem live and I love them they
were fantastic.

Speaker 1 (24:46):
So I was living in edmonton, they were so good.
I still have them.
I still have the actual.

Speaker 2 (24:48):
They're getting that and they were, they were back
then you were getting your cdsafterwards, and so I actually
had to have the cds.

Speaker 1 (24:53):
You might have them in your car actually, right now
I bought if you're just tuningin I bought a brand new Lexus
and it has a CD player.
And I don't mean brand new tome, I mean brand new like off
the showroom floor, basically, and it has a CD player and I
don't have any CDs, so Iborrowed Mike's awesome CDs.

Speaker 2 (25:09):
I still had to shake the dust off of them, but they
were down there.

Speaker 1 (25:12):
Yeah, I'm missing a lot of hip.

Speaker 2 (25:13):

Speaker 1 (25:13):

them.
His voice was so good, manAnyway.

Speaker 1 (25:41):
He's so pure.
It sounds exactly live, as itdoes on the CD.
Better live, that's the thing.

Speaker 2 (25:45):

Speaker 2 (26:24):
I'll grow a beard, that's it, I'll grow a beard.

Speaker 1 (26:26):
Grow a beard for it.
Speaking of that, so I've beenaway for quite a few years and a
lot of who hasn't seen me quite.
Then he goes you don't age.
I went okay, good, that's theidea, isn't it, mike?

(26:46):
It is.
Then you're not supposed to age.
Now I'll tell you what did youage?
The amount of zeros on my bankaccount.
It's gone down right, yeah,yeah.

Speaker 2 (26:54):
So I like to think I didn't age either.
Then I see pictures of myselflike wait a minute, where did
all this gray come?

Speaker 1 (26:59):
I know right and right, and I had a beard too and
I'm like this gray weathershouldn't be.

.

Speaker 2 (27:51):
No, no, no, no.
It's David Corning.
Okay, I don't know.
I read that a while back.
They said that maybe it Corning.
Okay, I don't know.
I read that a while back, Ithink they were talking about it
.

Speaker 1 (28:02):
Well, I saw a joke about it, which is probably why
they didn't do it.
They said the new Superman'sblack.
So that can help all theAfrican-Americans that didn't
grow up with a dad.
Oh brutal, I'm like.
Oh, you guys are rough.
I did not say that Somebodyelse said that I'm like that's
ooh, that is Skip Bayless.

That's the guy that lovesLeBron.

Speaker 2 (28:20):
Yeah Right, skip Right Loves him.
Yeah, watch our show.
Skip Go, fuck yourself.
You know his career is kind oftied to LeBron, like we talked
about.

Speaker 1 (28:28):
Yeah, that's right, he's going to have to retire.

Speaker 2 (28:29):
What's he going to do now?

Speaker 1 (28:30):
right, right, he's not.
He's the next james to play inthe nba, I guess, and I wouldn't
be surprised if after lebronleaves he doesn't get played in
the nba anymore.

Speaker 2 (28:44):
You say that, but we just we were just talking about
how cooper flag brawny.
They play and they interviewbrawny.
Yeah, right, so he is still.
He has that drop right andthat's.
That's the thing about.
It is that the nba is astar-driven league.
Now.
Brawny's not a star, the kid'sa really good player.
Yeah, yeah, you know he hasflashes, but if he's got that

(29:05):
much of a following, I justcan't see them letting him walk
right.

Speaker 1 (29:09):
I mean I he?

Speaker 2 (29:10):
might not play a whole lot.
He doesn't play a whole lot, hegets out there.

Speaker 1 (29:13):
I mean what he's going to have to do basically,
and I'm sure he knows this andhis dad's probably told him this
uh, play defense, son, juststep up your defense well,
that's what he is good at right,he's small.
I think he's small.
Yeah, cooper flag was waybigger than him.

Speaker 2 (29:26):
He's like backing him down grades a cooper flag six,
eight, six eight.

Speaker 1 (29:30):
Yeah, you know brown, he's like four foot what?
Nine?

Speaker 2 (29:33):
I honestly don't know he's.

Speaker 1 (29:33):
I think he's just like six one six well, he looks
bigger because he's black right, but he but he's short people.
He's not a tall man.

Speaker 2 (29:39):
He's so mad.

Speaker 1 (29:40):
He's not a tall he's definitely taller than me Twice
the size of me, but he'sprobably so mad that he got
Vanessa's height, not LeBron's.

Speaker 2 (29:47):
No, yeah, savannah's, oh sorry, oh, vanessa's, kobe
Bryant's, that's right, sorry.

Speaker 1 (29:55):
Oh, he's like mom really.

Speaker 2 (29:57):
I got mom's height.
Come on, man, look, look atthis thing.
Yeah Right, how tall is theother one?
Oh, he's taller.
Is he Six, four, I think?

Speaker 1 (30:04):
Okay, yeah, he's up there but he's still going to
grow.
Brawny's done, brawny's done,that's done.
They need to stretch him orsomething.
Well crazy, yeah, I think heplayed point guard in high
school.
Oh my god it's big in AnthonyDavis, did you hear about his
recent injury Something?

Speaker 2 (30:23):
with his eye.
I don't know what it was.

Speaker 1 (30:24):

Speaker 2 (30:27):
Oh really.

Speaker 1 (30:27):
Yeah, which is fucking big problems, jesus

Speaker 2 (30:30):
It's like you called him.
He's made of glass man.
Yeah, you can't even lookstraight without getting an
injury.

Speaker 1 (30:37):
Here's what they said and I was like, no, no, no,
they go.
Oh, it's all those hard bangshe took inside.
And I'm like, no, that's notwhat.
It can just happen.
Your retina can just tear.
It can just happen, Right, ithappens usually to older people,
right, so you know he isinjured.
They said he'll be fine for theseason, right, so we'll see

(31:00):
which side he can't see on andI'm sure the defenders will
drive to that side.
Yeah, Right, so I mean it iswhat it is, Okay, so back to
Marvel.
Now Scarlett Johansson.
You might know her Heard of her.
She's married to that dude onSaturday.

Speaker 2 (31:14):
Night Live Colin Jost Jost.
Yeah, yeah, he's hilarious, hereally is Hilarious, hilarious,
but yeah.

Speaker 1 (31:20):
So Scarlett Johansson just passed everybody as the
all-time money-making person inthe world as an actor.
Oh, with the With everything.

Speaker 2 (31:29):
No with anything.
Oh no, I know, but the newestblockbuster she's in, oh, the
Jurassic, yeah.

Speaker 1 (31:34):
That one put her over the top.
Okay, now I haven't seen it.
Have you seen it?
No, I've heard good things.
Okay, I might get a chance tosee it, I might not.
We'll critique that if we do.
If not, we'll wait for it to goon DVD Mm-hmm.

Speaker 2 (31:57):
Robert Downey Jr.
He's been in almost every movie.

Speaker 1 (31:59):
there is he is in every movie.
Robert Downey Jr is the thirdnow.

Speaker 2 (32:04):
Because of all the Marvel movies, she was in a lot
of those as well, she was, butto blow those guys away.

Speaker 1 (32:11):
Here's the thing.
Here's what people don't know.
She did way less movies.
They did way more movies thanshe did to get there.
Go girlfriend.
She, yeah, they did way moremovies than she did to get there
, so go girlfriend she's, youknow, in those blockbusters,
right, impressive, what else.

Speaker 2 (32:24):
So she's been in the marvel ones, and she's been in
now, the jurassic world.

Speaker 1 (32:27):
I don't even know what else is she well, she was
in one where she showed frontnude.
Yeah, it was in the mirror.
She showed her uh coochie andher hooters there.
Yep, for real.
I'm sure colin joust was notwith that, but it is what it is.
Yeah, I will say this.
I'm going to just put this outthere.
Sorry, she looks better inclothes.
She does.

Speaker 2 (32:48):
I saw the body.

Speaker 1 (32:49):
She looks better in clothes, okay.
All right, so I mean it is whatit is, I don't know.
I mean now we talked aboutskiing before, mike, okay.
Okay, there's this place, martok Ski Hill, where we used
to go skiing.

Speaker 2 (33:02):
Yeah, yeah.

Speaker 1 (33:04):
Well, the people of Martok sold it.
They're retiring, okay, and ifyou don't know, in Nova Scotia
we have another ski hill, alsohere, there's more than one,
actually.

Speaker 2 (33:12):
There's Wentworth, there's another one, but we have
Cape Smoky down in Cape.

Speaker 1 (33:17):
Breton Right and the Cape Smokey people.
Cape Smokey Limited bought SkiMartok, but what they're going
to do is they want to have it asa four-season resort.
So they're, going to pump it up.
I'm going to have to go checkthat out and see what they got
going on in the summer.

Speaker 2 (33:33):
I'm sure they got zip lines and some other crazy shit
going on there, right, yeah, but I mean go ski hills, you
know well growing up where wegrew up northern new brunswick
you know they had, we had theski hill there and it was great.
We loved it.

Speaker 1 (33:44):
I'm skiing all the time but never did much with it
in the summertime sugar loaf, yeah, sugar loaf in campbellton,
campbellton, right yeah well, the reason I paused on that,
because I can think of a storywe got a few stories, oh shit we
got a few stories, but beforewe we got a few stories.

Speaker 2 (33:58):
But before we do that , I was going to say what they
did with the ski hill up there.
Was they turned, they built abunch of mountain bike trails
through there, which of coursewas a brilliant idea.

Speaker 1 (34:06):
Well, that's probably what they're going to do here
at the Montauk.

Speaker 2 (34:08):
That's where I was going with that yeah video of
some guy that was just kind oftraveling all over looking for
really good uh mountain biketrails and did a story on that.
One said how good it was likeup in the.
You know it's the oldappalachian mountains up and up
in northern new brunswick andthat's a beautiful place to
visit.

Speaker 1 (34:28):
Well, on the way here I see a lot of people on bikes
out today because it's quitenice.
So yeah, but uh, the sugar loaf.
That was in the middle of thewinter.
We went up skiing, or I don'tknow who was skiing that was me
and who else, steve.

Speaker 2 (34:41):
I think it was well.
I know you're talking about thetime we went up in your Mustang
.

Speaker 1 (34:46):
I don't know which time we're talking.

Speaker 2 (34:47):
Yeah, that was one week A long time ago, you and I
and my brother.
Oh my God, I had a convertible.

Speaker 1 (34:51):
Mustang.
It was an American car.
It was in miles per hour.
It's a nice car, fire engine, red, white leather.
Drove it in the winter, yeah,rear-wheel drive, brutal, brutal
, absolutely bat shit.
Crazy in the middle of asnowstorm by the drive on the,
yeah, but it wasn't even that.

Speaker 2 (35:10):
I think we had 11 people in that car well, the
time that we went up, it wasjust me, you and my brother
right that time, but anothertime we were going from party to
party, we put 11 people.
Oh yeah, that's right.

Speaker 1 (35:20):
Remember that it was like a girl with like the stitch
oh, and it was a yeah and 11people in a four-seater car In a
tiny little car yeah, but yeah,we had some good times up there
, met a lot of cool people, butthe best time that I never
remember or misremember is thefirst time we went to
Campbellton and I met thegentleman Mark Ouellette and he

(35:42):
introduced us to a good friendof his named Big Bertha.
Big Bertha, and Big Berthafucks everybody and I got fucked
by Big Bertha.
Yeah, and there's storiesbehind that.
Now Big Bertha, mike is a Abong.
It's a bong, Mm-hmm.
Now, back in those days, marijuana was illegal.
This was a long time ago ladiesand gentlemen, boys and girls,

(36:04):
and of course my gay friendHarry.
We did things we weren'tsupposed to do mine Allegedly,
allegedly, but we did it and wedon't regret it.
And it was crazy because Idon't remember any of it.
And then apparently everybodywas mad at me because I didn't
talk to anybody.
That I do remember.
You kind of sat in the corner, but I recall having
conversations with lots ofpeople oh yeah in my head.

(36:26):
Of course you did right, becauseI probably didn't take my
schizophrenic medication.
Yeah, but yeah, anybodyschizophrenic?
Of course we're just kidding, but take care of yourself, of
course mental health is uh realand uh get to help.
You need all right, definitely, but uh, I mean you know the
stories, the stories, uh we'lltell more when they come up, but

(36:47):
we don't.

Speaker 2 (36:47):
We don't script everything right, so we don't
script but it is what it is andsome of those stories are not
allowed to be told yeah, I don't, yeah, yeah, we're gonna leave
mark willett's name there.

Speaker 1 (36:59):
Mark well, that's a smart guy.
I got a real good job, but uh,you know, back in the day we
were all idiots right, we weresome, some things he said, but
that is what it is now um, wealso have other things going on
here.
Uh, you want to want to hit itup, mike uh you're driving oh,
the driving thing.

Speaker 2 (37:19):
I mean, we were talking about that um this is a
hot take.

Speaker 1 (37:21):
We're both going to talk about this because I've had
about enough yeah.
I've only been driving for threeweeks.
I don't understand what's goingon.
Yeah, like the amount of peopleare driving this far behind me
doing 110 on the way in here I'mone of the highways I'm doing
140.
That car is stupid quick.
I don't even realize.
I'm not trying to be an asshole, I'm doing one for people going

(37:42):
by me, yeah, okay.
And then I get here on this.
What's?
Whatever this road is prospect, yeah, I get behind a horse
trailer with a giant uh, duallydouble cab pulling it, going 50.
I got passed by an old lady anda walker, okay, which is which

(38:02):
is why it took so long to gethere too, because the line of
cars behind us was ridiculous, because this guy just couldn't,
and it turns out he also turneddown your street of course, all
the way down so, like off themain road, I'm like, oh are you
kidding me coming down that road?

Speaker 2 (38:15):
you'll get it.
You'll get it from all you know.
Uh, so somebody going 50.
It's a 70, 70 kilometer an hourzone so you'll go 50 and then
you'll get the people that getright on your bumper and then if
even if you're doing doing 90,say you're gonna have people on
your bumper.
It's just the way it is right Idon't know and pass you on
double solids like crazy.

Speaker 1 (38:34):
You know, there's this.
There's a saying hurry up andwait.
You know I watch guys go by me,then I get to where I'm going,
right there, like they're right, there right there.
Good job, you got a whole carlength.

Speaker 2 (38:46):
I don't know, when I was younger it used to drive me
bonkers.
I used to want to.
Oh, you're not passing meGrowing up with the old man who
we grow up on the single lanehighways, when you pass, you
pulled out and you had to gun it.

Speaker 1 (38:59):
That's right.
People forget those that therewas single lane.

Speaker 2 (39:04):
So, dad I remember coming back from Ontario.
We're on the you know big threelane highways.
Pulls out the past stilldoesn't guns.
It's like you don't need to dothat anymore.
Right, Cause he's just thementality just could not change,
right?
Yep, that's the thing.
But yeah, coming down the roadhere, it's a, it's just people
just want you to go what they'regoing, as if, as if the roads

(39:24):
are made for them and that's it,and you have to go what they
want to go and it's not.
It's not the way it is, man.
Like just chill out, relax.
You know, now, as I've gottenolder, it's just like go ahead.

Speaker 1 (39:34):
Well, I understand when you're pulling a horse
trailer with the whole thing.
I get that.
Like you know, Nobody washonking or anything.

Speaker 2 (39:39):
There's a lot of guys that run their own businesses
around here and they call thosebig trailers and you can't be
going whipping around in thosethings.

Speaker 1 (39:45):
No, man, I'd rather they don't.

Speaker 2 (39:46):
There's animals in the back.
Well, these are just guys thathave the work trailers, right,
yeah?

Speaker 1 (39:51):
yeah.

Speaker 2 (39:51):
The trailer's full of gear and probably expensive
gear you don't want to bewhipping around.
I'm guaranteed expensive.
100% right, yeah, but anywayit's stop signs everywhere, but
it's 70 kilometers an hour.
Yeah, and it's a busy road andpeople run those stop signs on
those sides.

Speaker 1 (40:11):
Oh, really All the time.

Speaker 2 (40:13):
Coming around on two wheels trying to get out and
then, as much as they thinkthey're doing, oh, I'm going to
get out.
You still have to slam yourbrakes on because you're going
70, and they're coming out like30, 40 kilometers, but that's
still yeah.
I love when they just yeah, oh,yeah, they pull up and just go
hammer that thing.

Speaker 1 (40:29):
Man, yeah, like today .
You know where I have to comefrom.
You have to come down.
Like in this.
The problem is you're comingdown the highway doing 110, but
people can come out, yeah right, and the lane's not long enough.
So I'm just like you gottascoot ahead, yeah, and go, okay,
all right, and then you hammerit and then slide in later on.
It's just like.
Here's the other part.
I don't like the right lane.

(40:50):
I shouldn't be passing cars inthe left lane.
No, like the left lane is forpassing, passing.

Speaker 2 (40:58):
Gretzky, it's not the way it is in the States, man
Right.

Speaker 1 (41:01):
But here it's like I'm driving, I'm like like what
are you, what are?

Speaker 2 (41:03):
you doing.
It's meant to be that way, butit's not that way, you know it's
dangerous.
You got a person driving 90 inthis one everybody's doing, then
everybody's doing this onetrying to get through and the
whole holy there was one videothat I saw, where the cops I
don't know where it wassomewhere down in the states
they pulled some guy over thatwas in the actual furthest left
lane, okay, and he said why areyou pulling me over?
For I'm going, you know, fiveover the speed limit.

(41:24):
Why are you pulling me over andyou're not grabbing these other
guys, whatever he?

Speaker 1 (41:27):
says you're the one calling you over because you're
that.

Speaker 2 (41:29):
You're causing problems because you're in that
lane and Everybody that wants togo faster, breaking the law or
not, that's right.
You're causing issues nowbecause now they're whipping
into the middle lane and you getpeople from the right hand.
I'm trying to get into themiddle lane and you're you're
creating a good he should havegot pulled over.
You're the one causing theissue.

Speaker 1 (41:46):
Good on you, officer.
Proper thing, that is the rightthing.

Speaker 2 (41:50):
Coffee and donut for you.

Speaker 1 (41:52):
Unbelievable.
Got a joke for you.

high-end brothel?
What One's?
An array of cunning stunts.
