Kids NEED #Fathers. That BOLD statement is the topic of today's podcast! Pastor Gary Frost, a Southern Baptist minister, who has ministered primarily in Youngstown and New York City is not afraid of going into the heart of the need. He speaks boldly and tells it like it is, along with some of his experiences that denote the importance of present fathers!
Pastor Frost also goes into some controversial topics about gender strengths, what sons and daughters need from their Dads, some of the reasons behind so much fatherlessness and MORE!
If no one has told you ever before: MEN of Youngstown Click, we need you to be be strong, good men. We draw and grow from your strength! What if you've never had a good Dad? What if you have never been shown the love of a Father? YOU are not left out! We cover that as well in this episode of the Youngstown Click - Be Connected Podcast!
ALSO, the annual Father & Daughter Dance is coming up in Youngstown and I talk to Jessica Rosario, from Warriors Inc, for a few minutes to get all the details for you! 8-82 years of age and beyond, whatever age your Dad or daughter is, he is welcome to come to the dance.
Some of Pastor Frost's Favorite Places:
1. Tod Cemetery - beautiful, historic, peaceful place to reflect on life and the people he's known and lost.
2. Mill Creek Park - fond memories of when he was dating his wife and still a current part of their time together! A true local gem in our community!
3. Sharon Line - where he grew up, he has fond memories of the McGuffey Center where his Dad used to be director! The Center still serves the community in a variety of ways and he finds that area peaceful! Where Youngstown meets the Sharon line!
Pastor Frost pastors a new local church in Youngstown called The Open Door. It is a small welcoming congregation in a central and welcoming spot in the YMCA. For those who say they'd never enter the doors of a church, this would be a great place for you! :)

Cardiac Cowboys
The heart was always off-limits to surgeons. Cutting into it spelled instant death for the patient. That is, until a ragtag group of doctors scattered across the Midwest and Texas decided to throw out the rule book. Working in makeshift laboratories and home garages, using medical devices made from scavenged machine parts and beer tubes, these men and women invented the field of open heart surgery. Odds are, someone you know is alive because of them. So why has history left them behind? Presented by Chris Pine, CARDIAC COWBOYS tells the gripping true story behind the birth of heart surgery, and the young, Greatest Generation doctors who made it happen. For years, they competed and feuded, racing to be the first, the best, and the most prolific. Some appeared on the cover of Time Magazine, operated on kings and advised presidents. Others ended up disgraced, penniless, and convicted of felonies. Together, they ignited a revolution in medicine, and changed the world.
