If you feel like everyone around you is sick all the time, you're not wrong. After several years of heightened hygiene and a lot more time in relative quarantine, the post-COVID one-two punch of viruses has made it a lot harder to stay healthy. From schools to nursing homes, sickness has been very difficult to avoid which puts strains on not only our healthcare system but also nearly every aspect of life from daycare centers to grocery store shortages.
So as we start to get through what feels like a never-ending sick season, how can we give our own bodies a boost and build up our immunity to reduce the risk of getting ill long-term? Let's talk about it!
Our guests today are Dr. Nick Edgerton, a naturopathic physician and licensed acupuncturist who has an amazing background in botanical medicine from wildcrafting in Jamaica to his own backyard to nutrigenomics where he studies how nutrients and herbs impact gene expression. We’ve been working together for almost a decade, sharing cases, seeds for our gardens, and backyard chicken care.
Dr. Anthony Pascucci is a naturopathic physician who I’ve been so incredibly excited to collaborate with. He presents in the clinic and has really shown us the importance of mind-body medicine. His practice of bodywork has been literally life-changing for many of our patients and his wealth of knowledge from training in breathwork, craniosacral therapy, and nutrigenomics has helped people feel so much better day to day.
Here on Your Health Toolkit, we often talk about how conventional and naturopathic medicine can play complementary roles in our overall health. We call this “collaborative medicine” and through the work that we do at Collaborative Natural Health Partners, we are able to give people the knowledge and the tools they need to feel great every single day. If you’re interested in learning more, head over to our website or follow us on Facebook or Instagram for information, articles, and resources to take the guesswork out of your health.
Your Health Toolkit is a podcast presented for general information and educational purposes only. The discussions presented by Dr. Lauren Young and the show’s guests should not be considered medical advice but rather a conversation starter with your doctor. Everyone’s body is unique, and we recommend having a discussion with your personal healthcare team before trying anything discussed on the show.
