Today’s show is all about fatigue, a problem most of us have faced at one time or another. Now to be clear fatigue isn’t just feeling tired. It’s really more of a persistent exhaustion that interferes with our day-to-day lives. If you’ve ever pushed through a 70-hour work week or you’re the parent of young kids, you’ll know exactly what I’m talking about.

Sure, we all go through periods where we are worn out, drained, and depleted. But when the body is fatigued for long periods of time, it can actually be pretty detrimental to our long-term health. The good news is that there is actually a lot we can do to increase the quality of sleep that we get and train our bodies to rest well, without the help of sleeping pills or prescription meds. So let’s get right to it and meet our experts.

With me today are Dr. Carolina Gonzalez and Dr. Brad Brooks from Collaborative Natural Health Partners. Dr. Brooks is an Osteopathic Family Medicine Physician and he practices medicine with the understanding that health and disease have inertia, therefore he uses conventional and integrative practices to promote and maintain his patient’s inner source of wellness. Dr. Gonzalez is a Naturopathic Physician who is specifically interested in the impact of psychological stress on the body and she’s an expert in craniosacral therapy as a modality to relax the central nervous system.

Here on Your Health Toolkit, we often talk about how conventional and naturopathic medicine can play complementary roles in our overall health. We call this “collaborative medicine” and through the work that we do at Collaborative Natural Health Partners, we are able to give people the knowledge and the tools they need to feel great every single day. If you’re interested in learning more, head over to our website or follow us on Facebook or Instagram for information, articles, and resources to take the guesswork out of your health.

Your Health Toolkit is a podcast presented for general information and educational purposes only. The discussions presented by Dr. Lauren Young and the show’s guests should not be considered medical advice but rather a conversation starter with your doctor. Everyone’s body is unique, and we recommend having a discussion with your personal healthcare team before trying anything discussed on the show.
