For today’s show, we’re changing gears a bit to focus on one of the most important aspects of our wellness and longevity - our kids.
If you’re a parent, you probably work pretty hard to keep your children healthy. But with everything from your typical school and playground germs to some of the more serious pediatric illnesses, it can be hard to know what’s best.
Because so many of our own patients have asked us how to care for their kids the natural way, we decided to do a show about it and we have some great experts to lead the way.
In the studio are APRN Andrew Lauzier and Naturopathic Physician Dr. Carissa Fioritto from our practice, Collaborative Natural Health Partners in Connecticut.
Andrew provides primary care across the practice and is passionate about integrative and holistic care for both adults and children. He is the dad of one little boy.
Dr. Fioritto is a Naturopathic Physician who focuses her practice on digestive disorders and hormonal health including chronic fatigue, dermatologic conditions, anti-aging, and stress management. She is also a mom to two little ones.
We mention a few resources during our chat that you can access right here. EWG.org lists the dirty dozen fruits and vegetables, plus has great information on sunscreen ingredients. HealthyChildren.org is an excellent website powered by the American Association of Pediatricians.
Here on Your Health Toolkit, we often talk about how conventional and naturopathic medicine can play complementary roles in our overall health. We call this “collaborative medicine” and through the work that we do at Collaborative Natural Health Partners, we are able to give people the knowledge and the tools they need to feel great every single day. If you’re interested in learning more, head over to our website or follow us on Facebook or Instagram for information, articles, and resources to take the guesswork out of your health.
Your Health Toolkit is a podcast presented for general information and educational purposes only. The discussions presented by Dr. Lauren Young and the show’s guests should not be considered medical advice but rather a conversation starter with your doctor. Everyone’s body is unique, and we recommend having a discussion with your personal healthcare team before trying anything discussed on the show.
