Aloha and
welcome to your Heart Magic, an
illuminating space wherepsychology, spirituality and
heart wisdom meet.
Here's your host, dr BethannKapansky-Wright.
Author, psychologist andspiritual educator.
Dr. BethAnne Kapansky Wri (00:33):
Aloha
everybody, welcome to your
Heart Magic.
This is Dr BethannKapansky-Wright, and happy May
to everybody.
Today we are doing a miniAkashic update and we are
looking at what the Akashicrecords have to say about the
energy at this time.
And then we're going to dive alittle bit more deeply into that
(00:54):
and look at how we can apply itto our lives.
And I have a couple funpassages to read as well to help
set the tone and round outtoday's podcast episode.
So first of all, just to groundthis episode, the Akashic
Records said that right nowthere's really good build energy
(01:15):
going on, and by build energythey mean the kinds of energy
that supports grounded, tangiblesteps and really thinking about
what we're building in ourlives.
Now, the Akashic Records oftenspeak through resonance.
They speak through images.
Sometimes there is a sense ofknowing.
(01:37):
There are words that are oftencoming through when I'm seeing
something in my mind.
So, for example, when I was inthe records and I was looking at
what is the energy for theTaurus new moon, which happened
this past weekend and the firstcouple of weeks of May, I saw
the words build energy and Ialso saw all these fun images of
(01:58):
builders.
I saw the game Tetris andblocks going into different
columns and some of them liningup, some of them not working,
and we have to renegotiate itand figure out how to fit
everything in.
I saw these playful, almostlike little Lego builders.
It's not uncommon for therecords to have a sense of humor
(02:21):
and to use playful imagery wheninformation is coming through.
They're really fun that way andthere's a lightness when I work
with them, and so I thinksometimes they will give a light
picture that goes with thewords to illustrate it.
So I saw all these differentpictures and images of things
being built and the idea wasright now that there's excellent
(02:44):
energy for building things inour life, and of course, that is
going to be very individual, based on who we are, what our
goals are and what we arebuilding.
But right now there's goodenergy that's very grounded and
it's very focused on thinkingabout what systems are we
putting in place, whatfoundation are we building our
(03:08):
lives upon, what's working, what's at the base of it and
what's anchoring us and what'snot working and how might we
look at changing that.
So, before we dive more deeplyinto the message, I have a poem
that I want to share from mypoetry book Heliotrope Nights
Starlight for the Mind and Soul, and I chose this because it
(03:31):
fits in with the theme oftoday's podcast episode, which
is centered on encouraging us tothink about not only what are
we building, but how are webuilding towards our dreams at
this time?
So this poem is calledRainmakers, my dear one.
I know it's hard to be in aworld that has oft forgotten how
(03:52):
to be, but you will never findyour stars if you do not learn
to open your eyes to the night, and you will never discover just
how big you are if you insiston keeping yourself placed
inside the lines drawn by others.
You were made for greaterthings, great one, the kinds of
(04:13):
things which unbind your stringsto gravity so you can better
shoot through the sky.
Don't sacrifice your power tofit another's box or think for a
second.
You didn't come from love orever believe you don't have a
place in the grace of this world, for we are the makers making
(04:34):
it rain.
We are the wizards behind ourown curtains.
We are the dreamers dreamingout loud.
We are the dreamers dreamingout loud.
When I wrote this poem andpublished it back in 2016, 2017,
I was at such a transitionalstage in my life and I was
(04:54):
really thinking about what am Ibuilding in my life?
I don't know if that's thelanguage that I would have used
at the time, but that's exactlywhat I was contemplating and, as
I've shared many times on thepodcast, I was living in Alaska
at the time.
But that's exactly what I wascontemplating and, as I've
shared many times on the podcast, I was living in Alaska at the
time, so I built a really lovelylife for myself there.
I built a really lovelycontainer that was housing my
(05:16):
life and holding my life there, and it had become way too small
for many reasons.
It was just time for growth andtime for expansion, and many
things were a catalyst for that.
That led me to coming to Kauaiand making significant changes
in my life.
But I don't think I decided todo that yet, and so I was just
feeling this restlessness andfeeling this stirring and really
(05:40):
feeling like am I being who I'mcalled to be in this world, or
am I just fitting into roles andfitting into boxes that were
built for me by somebody else orothers' expectations, or
society's expectations, or maybeeven my own ideas of who I was
supposed to be and what I wassupposed to be doing with my
(06:02):
life and I was reallychallenging all of that and
challenging my own status quoand looking at how do I dream
bigger, how do I become therainmaker and make it rain in my
own life?
How do I find inspired actionand dare to step outside of the
lines that were holding my lifein at the time?
(06:25):
And that felt big back then.
It felt big when I was thinkingabout making these gigantic
moves and packing up and movingto another state entirely and
packing up that version of mypractice and not knowing what
the future had in store for me,and I was just on the precipice
of being in the throes ofdismantling so much of what I
(06:46):
built and going through thismassive change and evaluation
process and then turning aroundand rebuilding something
different and figuring out whatpieces am I keepinging out?
What pieces serve me then?
And I've outgrown them?
How can I integrate or reinventsomething that was part of my
(07:10):
old matrix and bring it into mynew matrix of being?
And when the Akashic Recordstalk about this idea of build
energy and being builders, theseare the kinds of questions that
come to mind Now.
This is a really dramaticexample.
You do not have to be goingthrough some huge life change.
If you are contemplating whatam I building in my life right
(07:34):
now, it's just an easy exampleto use because it illustrates
this so well and so much of mypoetry back then is centered
around this idea of becomingbigger, dreaming a bigger world,
freeing myself from limitations, freeing myself from my fears,
and that's really the Akashic'sinvitation to us at this time.
(07:56):
How do we keep building anddreaming something bigger than
perhaps the old boxes or the oldfears or old ideas of who we
were and the Akashic Recordstalked about?
There's a lot of chaos going onat this time.
I don't think that's a surprise.
You can just look at theheadlines and see exactly what's
(08:16):
happening and how chaotic andhow much upheaval is going on,
and there is a collectivequestioning right now of
identity and collective bigquestions being asked on a scope
that far exceeds us asindividuals and comes down to
the bigger collective ofhumanity.
But for us as individuals, ofcourse, there's a trickle down
(08:41):
effect and many of us arelooking at who am I in the world
right now?
How am I called to serve?
What is my purpose?
How do I understand myselfwithin this shifting landscape.
So much of what we thought weknew to be true hasn't held true
.
So much has changed in the lastfive years, the last decade.
(09:03):
So much is in flux right now,and so we feel that, and many of
us feel emotionally ungrounded, and the guidance from the
records is to think about how dowe recenter ourselves, how do
we ground back into ourselves?
At this time, there ispotential in the upheaval to
(09:23):
look at what we are constructingand to bring it back to the
space of self and to really workwith the Akashic message for
the year 2025, which is allabout remapping peace inside of
ourselves and doing things in anew way, understanding ourselves
in a new way, integrating theold, letting what has come to
(09:43):
pass pass and what's decayedletting it go, and figuring out
how do I build forward and howdo I build in the direction that
I want to go out, how do Ibuild forward and how do I build
in the direction that I want togo.
So right now, in Taurus season, there's excellent energy for
doing that.
It feels particularly potentduring the first few weeks of
May, and the Akashic Records hadthis really lovely guidance
(10:07):
where they encouraged us tothink about if something's not
working for us, what will?
This is a great time to evaluatewhat isn't working.
What are you letting go of?
What are you transforming?
What are you shedding?
What are you releasing?
What do you just keep runninginto the same wall over and over
, or you keep falling in thesame hole and you feel stuck, or
(10:29):
you're stuck in a pattern.
And what would work for youinstead?
If you wanted to think abouthow to do things differently,
open up to the idea of newpossibilities you don't have to
actually take an action step yetjust to be open to rethinking
and reinventing something andcontemplating and allowing for
(10:49):
the ideas to come through thatthings could be different, and
allowing for the ideas to comethrough that things could be
different.
And as you think about thepossibility, then our next
question is so how do I go aboutdoing it differently?
How would I create something ordo something differently in a
way that nourishes me?
What would nourish me If I amstuck in something or something
(11:10):
isn't serving me?
And so I feel like I keeprunning into the same obstacle
over and over.
What might I create that wouldfeel more sustainable?
What would feel more nourishing?
And the other question theygave us and I just love this
question is how can I makemeaning from this?
I feel meaning making is soimportant to cultivating a sense
(11:32):
of purpose and finding acompass, something that helps us
feel anchored into who we are.
When we can make meaning out ofthings in our life, when we can
ascribe meaning and think aboutwhat did this mean for me, what
wisdom did I gain from it?
How is this part of the biggerarc of my story that's unfolding
, when we can claim our right tomeaning make and to narrate our
(11:57):
life and to empower ourself touse language, to use words to
tell a story about who we areand how we're showing up and
what's happened and what we wantto take from that.
When we can find language totell that through that feels
empowering and freeing and thathelps us define ourselves for
(12:17):
ourselves.
It's a really powerful thingand it allows us to think about
our intention for why we do whatwe do and who we are, and it
allows us to continue to groundinto our sense of purpose.
To continue to ground into oursense of purpose, for example,
one of the ways that I makemeaning out of things is I feel
that, as a soul, we are here tohave experiences, and so no
(12:42):
experience is ever wasted.
Whether we like an experienceor we don't like an experience,
I can always bring myself backto space as saying well, that
did not work out for me, but Igained a new experience and, on
a soul level, that wascollecting a new experience into
my being.
I have now experienced this andlearned some things from it,
(13:06):
and I can keep moving on on myjourney.
I also claim the right to makemeaning out of what wisdom did I
learn from something For mepersonally?
When it comes to meaning making, I am at a point in my journey
that I am somewhat interested inlooking at why did this happen?
Sometimes there is an answer tothe why that I can find, or
(13:30):
something that I can see, whereI see my part in a pattern and
maybe how I helped create acircumstance in my life, but
I've also learned that sometimeslife just happens.
We are living on this creativeplanet that is evolving around
us, and evolution is messy.
It can be chaotic, sometimesdiscord or disruptions happen
(13:53):
and we get caught in thecrossfire, and so I prefer to
focus on what meaning does thishold for me?
How can I make meaning out ofthis.
How do I want to take thisexperience and learn from it so
I can move forward?
What do I need to do tointegrate this experience, maybe
heal from this experience, takewisdom from this experience,
(14:16):
brush my hands and say, well, that happened and I'm just going
to keep on going.
Those things are my choice andI get to play with those and
play with the narrative aroundthem, and so do you.
You get to meaning make and youget to think about the language
you use and the perspective thatyou use and the words that you
(14:36):
use, our words and our thoughts.
They are a tool and they, tosome large extent, help shape
our reality, but they certainlyshape how we are responding and
perceiving that reality and thatpiece right.
There is something that I dohave control over.
I might not always be able tocontrol what's happening in my
life Oftentimes not so much atall.
(14:59):
There's very little that I canactually control but I can work
with my thoughts and I can letthose be malleable.
So we are encouraged to thinkabout meaning making right now
in this build energy and to eventhink about, like, how we make
meaning of something.
We are building a foundation ofhow we understand ourselves at
(15:20):
this time.
It's also really good energyright now to get into a
meditation practice.
The records noted that and saidthat having a grounded
meditation practice at this timeis not only good for us to
clear our thoughts and bring usback to our center, but on an
individual basis, it helps us toestablish a stronger connection
(15:42):
with whatever it is that wefeel connected to, however we
might understand the universe orenergy, and more of a
transpersonal and spiritualsense of things.
It's a really good way to buildthat connection in our life and
on a tangible level.
This is a really good time tothink about manifestation in
(16:03):
terms of tangible steps and whenwe're thinking about what we
want to manifest, being able tothink about manifesting small,
tangible changes where you'dlike to see yourself in a couple
of weeks, where you might liketo see yourself at the end of
the month.
Right now, there's somethingabout that tangibility and
(16:26):
really bringing it to a groundedmanifestation practice,
manifesting from a very groundedspace that feels really
supported.
Now sometimes the records willabsolutely encourage us to think
about big picture manifestationand to dream big and to think
about the bigger vision andwhere we might want to be a few
(16:46):
years from now or something muchbigger than that.
But the energy that I got fromthe records at this time is that
, while that bigger vision stuffit's always good to tap into it
if you feel called what is mostsupported at this time is more
of these smaller steps.
Again, this is build energy, and we don't build in one giant
(17:09):
leap.
We build with small changes andsmall steps and moving in the
direction of a goal, moving inthe direction of a dream.
We are encouraged to dream bigand then act in a way that is
tangible, measurable andachievable.
So it might be a really funjournaling prompt to just sit
(17:30):
down and write out a vision forwhere would you like to be at
the end of May and what wouldthat look like.
Is there anything that you arehoping to accomplish this month
and, if so, what would that be?
What values and attitudes andbeliefs are you building on
right now?
This is the foundation ofwhatever it is that you're
(17:51):
building.
How we think about the world, our perceptions, our beliefs
about ourself, our beliefs aboutwhat is possible for us All of
that creates a strong andhealthy foundation for what we
are building and how sturdythat's going to be.
So, thinking about where mightyou be limiting yourself?
(18:12):
Are there any values, attitudesor beliefs that you're working
on shifting right now?
If there's a place in your lifewhere you're struggling or you
feel small or you feel likethere's fear or you're holding
yourself back in some way, howmight you shift that?
What would that look like ifyou wanted to manifest a change
(18:32):
in that this month?
What would that look like ifyou wanted to manifest a change
in that this month?
What might it look like ifsomething feels really stuck to
you to allow for a biggerpossibility, that something
could be different?
And when we look at shiftinganything that has more to do
with our mental thought, construct, energy, how we are
thinking about ourselves, ouridentity, our perceptions.
(18:54):
When we identify something thatwe want to shift, we start
thinking about what's that shift?
How could it be different?
And from that will naturallycome our next step.
So, like, what tangible actionstep do I need to take now that
I'm allowing for a biggerpossibility?
How do you want to show up inthe world for the month of May?
(19:16):
How do you want to show up foryourself?
How do you want to show up inthe spaces that you occupy If
you want to be kinder, if youwant to be more loving, if you
want to be more joyful, writethat down in this journal prompt
.
What's your vision for themonth ahead?
What would it look like to sayI want to be more grace-filled
(19:37):
this month.
I want to practice moreself-grace, identify what that
is and then think about whatmight that look like If you
could imagine yourself fourweeks from now.
How would you look?
Who was a little bit morekinder or a little bit more
joyful or a little bit moregrace-filled?
It's okay if you don't have aperfect vision of what this
(19:59):
looks like.
Just start with where you're atand envision what you can, and
write your intentions down inyour journal about what you're
building this month.
So, even though the Akashic saidthat this is a really good
month for practical action, steps, small, tangible steps,
small tangible steps.
Our dreams are important and wecan choose to hold this bigger
(20:21):
picture of what dream do I havefor my life?
Maybe you have a big dream, maybe you don't right now,
that's okay.
If you are allowing your dreamsto recede and rewild and you
are regrowing what those are,it's all good wherever you're at
, but just thinking about how amI building towards my dreams.
How am I building towards thisbigger picture that I might be
(20:44):
working on for my life?
And, like I said, if you don'tnecessarily have a bigger
picture right now, then justthinking about what are my
smaller dreams and how am Ibuilding towards those.
What are some of the thingsthat I envision when I think
about this phrase?
Living my best life, being mymost authentic self, embodying
(21:04):
my highest expression.
What might that look like, howwould that feel like and what do
I need to do to keep buildingtowards that and just
identifying those things thatyou can do this month to keep
moving yourself in thatdirection?
I want to share a passage fromSmall Pearls, big Wisdom, and
this is called Dream your World, create a Beautiful Reality, and
(21:28):
I think it speaks to today'stopic really well.
Dream your world, create abeautiful reality.
Surround yourself with whateverbrings out the real in you.
Fostering love and truth inyour life will help you foster
love and truth in yourself.
Be a student and allow natureto be your teacher.
(21:50):
Talk to the stars and listenfor their answer echoing in your
soul.
See shapes in the clouds anddragons and crowds of swaying
trees.
Believe in magic and mystery.
Remember the ancestors whowalked here first.
Know that we step where theyonce trod and now rest.
(22:12):
Know that all land and groundare sacred.
Know that all land and groundare sacred.
Re-establish a connection withit.
Learn to set your heartbeat tothe beat of the bones of the
earth.
Learn to beat as one.
Learn what true connectionmeans.
Stay away from people andplaces that tear you down.
(22:33):
Don't change your shape to fitany boxes that don't suit your
glorious burst of sunlight, skyand sea.
Realize your experience of selfis right, real and worthy.
Realize your experience of lifeis the only experience that is
going to be the most helpful toyou.
Don't wait if it's in yourheart to do it and you have the
(22:56):
means to do it now.
Become a waking dream and dreamyour world.
See the world through arose-colored lens.
Create a beautiful reality.
Grieve as often as your spiritrequires over the cracks and
ruptures in this place.
Let your heart break daily, ifneed be, and make up your own
(23:19):
sacred ceremonies to honor thepains that you feel and see.
But don't let this hurtingworld make you forget that the
healing and binding balm of loveunleashed far surpasses
everything.
Pull anything into you thatencourages, supports and
nourishes you into blooming likethe gorgeous mad wildflower
(23:42):
that you are.
Grow and keep growing and growsome more until your roots are
bound and the ruby ground of theearth and your platinum petals
reach up, up up to the pleiades, forming their own milky way.
Galaxies become so big youcan't ever go back to small.
(24:04):
I wrote that after I moved toKauai years ago and I was in the
middle of expansion.
You can feel it in the wordsthat I wrote.
They're really expansive.
It is about unboxing ourselvesfrom whatever and however we
have felt boxed in and reallygiving ourselves permission to
(24:25):
be big, to expand, to live ourlife on our own terms, to honor
our grief, to honor ourexperience itself, our
experience of self, to allowourselves imagination and
intuition and joy and play.
And the line in there aboutgrow and keep growing and grow
(24:48):
some more until your roots arebound and the ruby ground of the
earth and your platinum petalsreach up, up up to the Pleiades.
I think that that concept ofimagining ourselves as having
these roots like a giant treethat are into the earth and the
roots that we build are based onour values and our beliefs, our
attitudes, our history, how weunderstand ourselves.
(25:09):
Sometimes we have to uprootourselves and transplant
ourselves somewhere Sometimesthat's physically, sometimes
that is through some externalchanges, but also a lot of
internal changes so that we havemore space to grow.
So we need these deep roots, weneed to be anchored.
We need the practical, we needthe earthly.
(25:30):
That is the energy.
Right now it's tourist season.
We're encouraged to build, todig into the ground, to think
about the tangible and thepractical.
But then that peace, that thattangible and practical is what
supports us in growing up, up,up into the sky and dreaming big
and having a vision andbelieving in ourselves.
(25:51):
And it is those tangible actionsteps that we take over and
over again that allow us to growinto something bigger and to
see a bigger scope ofpossibility for ourselves.
So when I wrote this, I wasreally learning that we need
both the terrestrial and thecelestial, and learning how to
(26:13):
work with bringing power downfrom the heavens, the skies,
from spirit, and grounding itinto the earth, grounding it
into my human journey, and thenalso taking my human ability to
move my energy, to take actionon my own behalf to live this
life and find joy, and figuringout how do I grow, up, up, up
(26:34):
and create a bigger vision andfeel more connected.
Up, up, up and create a biggervision and feel more connected.
So it's this two-way symbioticrelationship.
So we feel equipped to workwith energy on multiple levels
and be both grounded and rooted, and also magical and expansive
and big.
So, whatever it is that you'rebuilding for yourself this month
(26:57):
, have fun with it and allowyourself to play with it a
little bit and then allowyourself to think about just a
couple small ways that you canmove your energy in the
direction of what you want tobuild and take action on your
behalf and keep moving yourselfin the direction of your dreams
and your goals, your sense ofpurpose, your authenticity and
(27:20):
how you want to show up in theworld at this time.
