What if we became stubborn about creating joy? What if we insisted on our right to follow our hearts, no matter what life throws at us? In this illuminating exploration of Taurus season, we dive deep into the archetype of the Bull and discover how its fixed earth energy can transform our approach to life's challenges.

Taurus invites us to plant our heels exactly where we are and nourish the seeds of what truly matters. Unlike the fiery impulse of Aries that precedes it, Taurus takes the long view—asking what will sustain us not just today, but for seasons to come.

Key talking points include:

• Taurus energy connects us to earth wisdom, encouraging a romance with nature and reminding us of our physical connection to the world
• Unlike fiery Aries that says "strike while the iron is hot," Taurus asks us to take the long view and consider what will sustain us
• As a fixed sign, Taurus teaches persistence, loyalty and commitment—qualities that help us stay true to our authentic path
• Focus on what you want to grow rather than what's lacking or what you're eliminating from your life
• Consider what values are worth being "stubborn" about—like insisting on joy, creativity, or staying true to your purpose
• Reconnect with nature to tap into Taurus energy—whether through direct contact or finding creative ways to bring natural elements into your environment
• Ask yourself: What systems am I creating that will support me? What am I loyal to? What seeds am I planting that align with my deepest values?

Whether you're familiar with astrological archetypes or simply seeking ways to feel more grounded in turbulent times, this episode offers wisdom about rooting into what nourishes your authentic self. Connect with your heart wisdom and discover how embracing Taurus energy might help you build a life that sustains you for the journey ahead.

Dr. BethAnne Kapansky Wri (00:33):
Aloha everybody.
Welcome to your Heart Magic.
This is Dr BethannKapansky-Wright, and happy
Taurus season.
Today we are talking about thearchetype of Taurus and what
that means how we can use Taurusenergy to support ourselves and

(00:53):
how we can channel and utilizeand make the most of this really
fun astrological season.
I think all the astrologicalseasons are fun.
They all have their own giftsand they all have their own
focal points.
And when I decided to doarchetypes of astrology series

(01:14):
and just work our way througheach individual archetype in
astrology as the astrologicalwheel turns into that season, I
was just like lit up thinkingabout it, because I really enjoy
learning about astrology.
I think it is so fascinatingand no matter how much I learn,
there's always more to dive into.

(01:37):
There's always more that I candiscover.
So it's such an interestingtopic for me and I love taking
something and making it personaland looking at well, what does
that mean for us as individuals?
And help me fix my focal pointfor the next few weeks.

(02:09):
I often find right now in theworld, with so much going on and
so much distraction, so muchchatter, so many things that are
constantly pulling at us andasking for attention, it can be
really hard to hone things inand bring it into a focal point,
and so I've often found thatworking with astrology and
working with the phases of themoon is a really organic way for

(02:32):
me to have a touchstone that Ican keep coming back to and do a
check-in with myself and groundmyself and work with those
energies as a focal point thatmonth and ask questions that
often help me hone my focus andcome back into my heart, back
into my values, back intoremembering what I'm about in

(02:55):
this world and what I'm creating, and I find a lot of peace and
reassurance as well for thingsthat are still works in progress
in my life.
When I'm not quite sure what todo with those things, I find a
lot of reassurance from thesebigger archetypes that help me
remember that life is a journeyand nothing is ever complete.

(03:17):
It's always a work in progress, and even when we complete
something, we're beginningsomething else, and so there's
this ongoing wheel that keepsspinning.
There's always this nextchapter, this next phase, and it
reminds me to slow down andtake a breath and have more
grace for the things that feelmessy or incomplete in my life,

(03:38):
and I hope they inspire you tofind a similar grace for your
process.
So, before we dive more fullyinto Taurus today, I want to
share a poem.
I wrote this in Revelation ofthe Sky, and it's passage number
66, and it is called TaurusSeason, invites us to fall in

(04:00):
love with the earth.
Be a creature of nakedbelonging and sweet
vulnerability, who rests in thetruth of the trees and the
wisdom of the seas and sun'sdaffodil, joy-filled jubilee
inviting us to be receive dream.
Believe in the goodness ofearth's grace, under faith of

(04:24):
new moon's face.
Be in soulful union with thebeauty of the space.
When I wrote that, it was in Mayof 2019, and it was obviously
in Taurus season and at the timeI decided that I really wanted
to better understandastrological constructs, and I

(04:46):
find that astrology is a reallyinteresting thing.
There is an intuitive part ofthe practice, but you really
can't be intuitive around it ifyou don't know what everything
means.
So I just set out to be a goodstudent of astrology and to come
to understand what does eachzodiac sign mean and what are

(05:07):
some of the attributes andcharacteristics associated with
that year.
As I was learning more about itevery season and every time it
was a new sign that the sunmoved into.
I would write a poem around itto help myself remember what it
was about.
And as Taurus season, the poemin that book states, it's about

(05:28):
falling in love with the earthand belonging and this very
grounded energy that invites usto consider what do we belong to
, what are we rooting into?
How do we not only plant seedswhere we're standing right now,
but how do we water them andwhat do we want to invest in
those seeds so they bloom intosomething beautiful?

(05:51):
So Taurus is really connectedto earth energy and it is
connected to our roots andpleasure and comfort and
material possessions, beauty, the things that nourish us, and
I think that is what thearchetype of Taurus really
inspires us to think about andto tap into it's.

(06:13):
You keep coming back to thequestion of what is nourishing
me right now, what is supportingme.
Taurus season is a time that wecan really look at themes
around self-nourishment,sustainability, support and
looking at the kinds of thingsthat we need to feel grounded

(06:33):
and to feel rooted and to feellike we belong to something and
that we are setting up systemsin our life that feel cohesive
and feel like they are going tosustain us for the long term.
So Taurus, unlike Aries, whichinvites us to be passionate and
fiery and Aries says fortunefavors the bold and strike while

(06:55):
the iron is hot Taurus asks usto take a longer view and to
think about if I invest in thisright now, how might this
sustain me for the weeks to come, for the months to come,
possibly for the years to come?
Taurus is not about runningaround looking for happiness,
searching for everything hereand there.

(07:15):
Taurus is about planting ourheels in exactly where we're at
and in nourishing the seeds ofjoy and happiness and peace and
fulfillment, right here, rightnow, in the ways that we can.
And Taurus asks us if we startto identify roots and seeds and
systems that we have in placethat we do not think are going

(07:37):
to sustain us, that we don'tlike what they're growing into,
that we consider the work ofgetting rid of them and we
figure out what to do to weedthose out and shift our focus to
planting and growing what wereally want to see more of in
our lives.
Taurus invites us to focus onwhat we want to have bloom into

(07:59):
fruition, not what we're lacking, not even so much what we're
getting rid of.
Taurus would say acknowledgethat and just clean it up, do
the work to take care of it, butyou do not have to over-focus
on that.
Please put your focus in whatit is that you want to grow
instead, and if you know thatyou are not interested in

(08:19):
investing any further insomething in your life, then
clean it up, take care of it, dothe work around that, but fix
your focus on what it is thatyou need to feel more nourished,
to feel more sustained.
So I love that torus invites usto really consider this very
homey energy and this veryheart-based energy of just

(08:42):
asking what do I need to begrounded right now?
What do I need to be supported?
What do I need to bloom intothe most authentic version of
myself?
And, of course, that extends tothe areas in our life like work
, life, relationship life, creative life, spiritual life,
physical, emotional and mentalhealth, all of those things.

(09:03):
And we can extend that questioninto each of those different
categories for ourself and thinkabout what do I need to feel
more nourished in this?
What do I need to feelsupported?
Taurus is a fixed sign, andfixed signs in the zodiac are
signs that typically fall withinthe middle of the season.
They are not the beginning, they are not the ending.

(09:26):
They are the middle part whereyou not only begin something but
you put the work in to see itthrough to completion.
So fixed signs tend to bepersistent, tenacious.
They are again about taking thelong view and putting in the
steps in order to reach whereyou want to go.
And seeing something throughTaurus as a fixed sign can be

(09:50):
really stubborn.
Taurus is the bull of thezodiac and there is the phrase
bullheaded.
It is used for a reason, so itcan be a sign that not only digs
its heels in in positive ways, but sometimes that can happen in
shadow ways, where we getreally fixed on something or get
really stubborn aroundsomething.

(10:11):
But I think being stubborn canbe a good attribute when we are
applying it to things that wereally hold fast and true to in
our lives.
So when we are working withthis archetype and if we are
looking at focus on what youwant to grow, not so much on
what's not going right, thenwhat are you being stubborn
about?
That you know you are committedto, because fixed signs are

(10:35):
about loyalty and commitment aswell.
They walk the long road, theywill go the journey, the full
distance, they will go up themountaintop and on the hero or
heroine's journey and reach thedestination and go, come back
with the knowledge and returnall the way to the village.
They are the signs of thezodiac that will stick with it.

(10:58):
And so what do you want to beloyal about?
What do you want to becommitted to?
Do you want to be loyal to avalue?
Like I am about love, I amabout light.
I am investing in hope.
I am investing in creativity.
Can you be stubborn, stubborn,love?
Stubborn about creating joy, stubborn about saying that, no

(11:22):
matter what life throws at me,even when I get knocked down, I
will find a way to pull thingstogether and to alchemize that
and transform and continue tostay committed to my path.
Taurus asks us to really look atwhat do we value, what are we
nourishing and how are we loyalto that?

(11:42):
How are we stubborn around that?
How do we dig our heels in andsay I insist on this, I insist
on creating this in my life.
I am committed to this value.
Something that I love aboutthis is we get to play with the
idea of what are we loyal to,and I think there is wisdom,

(12:04):
heart wisdom and discernment infiguring out what is deserving
of our loyalty and commitmentand what is not.
And we always have permissionto change.
We always have permission toshift how we are attaching our
hearts and how we are focusingour energy if we realize we are

(12:24):
investing in something andstaying committed to something
that is not nourishing us and isnot committing back to us and
is not giving us what we want toreceive, what we want to grow,
what we are hoping to invest in.
So Taurus asks us to considerour worth and to consider value
and to really think about thekinds of things that are worth

(12:47):
our time, worth our effort, worth our loyalty, worth our
commitment and the kinds ofthings that we value, and ask
ourselves why that is.
And if something's coming upshort and it is not meeting the
criteria as something that wefeel spirit led to continue to
invest in, it's not feeding ourhearts, it doesn't feel like an

(13:09):
authentic expression of self, itis okay to do the work to clean
that up and to clear that outand think about what is more
sustainable.
What can I invest in instead?
I think everybody on thispodcast knows that I am stubborn
and tenacious when it comes toteaching heart, wisdom and love
and insisting on joy and all thethings I said earlier.

(13:31):
Those are Bethann values.
Those are things that Icontinue to come back to again
and again.
It's a very Bethann thing tosay.
No matter how much life knocksme down, no matter what happens,
no matter how much I might notlike what is happening in the
world and might not like, sometimes, the circumstances
that I see around me Sometimesthere's things that are beyond

(13:54):
our control I am still going toinsist on my right to be here,
to take up space, to follow myheart, to be a person of purpose
, to keep figuring out what thatpurpose is and to be a light
and hold space for the light andin so doing, awaken the light
in others.
I wrote that mission statementfor myself years back.

(14:16):
It's in Revelations of the Sky.
I was doing quite a bit of soulwork at the time.
I wrote this book and it isheld true until this day.
I am committed to that visionand for now it is standing the
test of time and I am walkingthe long road for it and staying
with myself.
And so you have your ownversion of that.
It might be similar to mine.

(14:37):
There might be elements thatyou really resonate with.
It might be something totallydifferent, because you have a
completely different soulblueprint, which is wonderful
and unique and fabulously you,it's all good and it's all about
figuring out what are thosethings for yourself.
And I always say, if you don'tknow, congratulations, you get
to do some self-discovery.

(14:58):
What a fun topic to explore andI'm so glad you're here and I'm
glad you're listening, and Ihope this inspires you to
explore it and to start to findyour answers to that question
for yourself.
The last thing that I wanted toshare is that the archetype of
Taurus is an earth sign and, asI said earlier, it really is
about being in a romance withthe earth, being in love with

(15:21):
the earth, falling in love withnature, allowing the earth to
support us.
So one of the other ways thatwe can tap into the archetype of
Taurus is to stay mindful ofour relationship with nature and
to be intentional aboutcontinuing to cultivate our
relationship with nature.
It's interesting I wasreviewing the notes from the

(15:42):
Akashic Quarterly message.
It's posted on my website forthe second quarter of 2025.
And the Akashic Recordsactually referenced the earth
for that quarterly message andthey talked about our earth
connection and they were talkingabout it in the context of
receiving and knowing that weare enough and, instead of
feeling overwhelmed by liferight now, focusing on I am

(16:04):
enough for these times.
I am enough to be creative andresourceful and to continue to
figure out my path and openingup to the support that is in
abundance all around us from theenergetic realms and from the
realms of nature.
They talked about just beingoutside and walking on the earth
with bare feet or accessingearth energy however you can, if

(16:28):
you are not in a place whereyou can go outside barefoot
right now it is winter in someparts of the world but doing
what you can to forge yourconnection with nature and the
ways that speak to you, andallowing yourself to feel
supported and allowing yourselfto feel grounded and allowing
yourself to be in wonder.
I think nature is this instantportal that, if we observe it,

(16:52):
it helps us tap into a space ofwonder.
Today I was just sitting in bedand I was looking out my window
and the window just looks outinto this big field behind my
house and I could see theseroosters just wandering around,
roosters and chickens just kindof running through the field.
We have so many here in Kauai.
You see them all the time andit is so easy to take it for

(17:14):
granted.
Sometimes they're a little bitof a nuisance If you are eating
out at a cafe or something andthere's plenty around, and
they're a little bit of anuisance if you are eating out
at a cafe or something andthere's plenty around and
they're looking for food andthey're begging from you.
They can crow at any time ofthe night and wake you up at two
or three in the morning.
I don't really mind them though.
I think they're really fun andreally delightful, but they do
tend to blend into the backdropfor me, because I'm so used to

(17:37):
seeing them, and I was lookingout the window today and I just
had a moment of taking a stepback and having a little bit of
a higher vision than just themoment and I thought, oh my gosh
, like how cool is this?
My view right now is this biggrassy field and I can see some
palm trees and I can seeroosters running around.
And it wasn't always true forme.

(17:59):
My view used to be Alaska andmountains, and sometimes gray
weather and dark sky andsometimes sunny sky.
Alaska has different views, butit does not have roosters
running around in green fieldsfor no reason at all, just
because it's a Sunday in April, and so I just had this moment of
just marveling at nature andthe delight and the wonder of

(18:22):
that moment.
And I think that nature is thisinstant miracle if we want to
tap into it and see it, if wecan just shift our focus so we
can return to a space of awe andwonder.
It's always doing somethingawe-inspiring, it's always doing
something wonderful, and if youare not in a part of the world

(18:44):
where you have a lot of accessto that, if you're in an urban
area, or if it is in a winterseason or something where nature
is not very pretty where you'reat right now, then there are
just so many ways from using ourimagination to looking at
someplace beautiful.
Funny story years ago back inAlaska for a while, my friends

(19:06):
and I did beach day once a yearand we would do it in January
when it was like negative 20 orsomething outside and like
freezing cold.
But we would do beach day andthere would be like a big
screensaver of the ocean withlike crashing ocean waves and
coconut scented candles We'dbring over like everybody who

(19:28):
had a happy light or some sortof like a big bright light would
like bring it over.
We'd bring beach towels, crankup the heat Sometimes the
fireplace would be going to makeit really hot and try and serve
like tropical foods and thingslike that.
So sometimes you have to be alittle bit creative and tap into
nature and like, if nature isnot readily available to you and

(19:51):
the way that you want it bringit to you in some shape or form,
at least by a plant, there'salways something we can do to
tap into that beautiful,wonderful energy.
So I want to close today with apoem, and it is called the
Nature of Nature and I feel likethis really encompasses so much
of the energy, of what Taurusseason is about about nourishing

(20:15):
ourselves, returning to asimpler place, returning to a
grounded place, stripping thingsaway and coming back to what we
really value and stayingmindful of our connection with
the earth and our commitment toour hearts.
And whatever purpose calls to usthe nature of nature calls to

(20:38):
us.
The nature of nature.
A tree doesn't run aroundshouting I am a tree for all to
see.
Instead, he simply stands hisground, receives the seasons and
knows his place in this world.
A river doesn't go against herown flow or fight the current of
where her streams go.
Instead, a river leans andbends, allowing herself the

(21:04):
freedom to change direction.
Flowers don't feel the need tobe a sea or a cloud or a
crescent moon breeze.
Instead, they realizethemselves for exactly what they
are an open wind-rife andsplendid symphony.
We can string ourselves outinto thousands of pieces, always
busy doing, live in fear andbelieve security equals an

(21:28):
amassment of stuff, spinourselves dizzy with tired
circles of worry, and yet naturewould teach us the art of being
, reminding we were alwayscomplete and already enough.
Happy Taurus season everybody.

spirituality, heart, wisdom andstorytelling.
