Step into the radiant energy of Leo season with us as we explore the archetype of the lion – where dignity, strength, and heart-centered living converge. Just as the physical lion doesn't need to announce its power, true Leo energy invites us to claim our worth without hustling for external validation.

Leo season asks us to shake off the watery depths of Cancer and stand boldly in our light. This isn't about ego or excess – it's about recognizing the divine spark within, what we might call "soul sovereignty." Throughout this episode, we explore how to embody the balanced aspects of Leo energy: self-respect without arrogance, creative courage without seeking approval, and leadership that comes from authentic self-expression.

What would change if you saw yourself through eyes of nobility? How might you carry yourself differently if you truly valued your gifts? We delve into practical ways to embody Leo's energy during this solar season, including journaling prompts to help you connect with your inner royalty. The invitation is clear: step into the spotlight of your own life with confidence, claiming your right to shine.

Whether you identify with Leo energy or not, this episode offers wisdom for anyone seeking to align with their authentic power. As the passages shared from "Small Pearls, Big Wisdom" remind us, "You have nothing to prove to anyone... However, you do have a responsibility to yourself to be yourself." Join us in exploring this "noble and significant" task of naming yourself, claiming yourself, and finding the courage to be uniquely, magnificently you.

Intro/Outro Music (00:13):
Aloha and welcome to your Heart Magic, an
illuminating space wherepsychology, spirituality and
heart wisdom meet.
Here's your host, dr BethannKapansky-Wright, author,
psychologist and spiritualeducator.
Aloha everybody.

Dr. BethAnne Kapansky W (00:35):
Welcome to your Heart Magic.
This is Dr BethannKapansky-Wright and it is Leo
season.
So we are talking about thearchetype of Leo today and
continuing our archetypes of theZodiac series, which has been
so enjoyable to create and toshare with everybody, and I love
talking about Leo.

(00:56):
I am a Leo, my birthday is atthe end of the month and Leo has
a special place in my heart.
And, speaking of hearts, thatis a great jumping off point to
talk about the archetype of Leo,because Leo is all about the
heart.
It is all about listening toour heart and finding strength

(01:18):
of heart, creativity of heart, following our passions and
allowing that very inspirationalenergy that asks us to be bold
and a little bit audacious andto really embody the energy of
self-belief.
To step into that more fully.
I want to share a passage todayfrom Small Pearls, big Wisdom

(01:40):
that emb embody some of thecharacteristics of the archetype
of Leo and help set the tone.
This is passage number eightand it is called first, value
yourself.
If you want others to take youseriously, you must take
yourself seriously.
If you want others to respectyou, you must respect yourself.

(02:04):
If you want others to value youand value the gifts of your
heart you choose to share.
You must first value yourself.
We can't delegateresponsibility for determining
our worth to others.
Our worth is ours to claim, andif we devalue ourselves, how

(02:25):
much do we truly expect othersto value what we treat so
carelessly?
Each of us is worth great loveand great value, and that work
of worth starts within.
Don't know where to start withlearning to value yourself.
Make a commitment today to sitquietly with yourself for two to

(02:45):
five minutes.
Start by saying hello, I seeyou, I am listening, I am here.
Help me see myself through theeyes of my heart today.
Then allow your heart to guideyou from there.
To me, what is the best of thearchetype of Leo is this very

(03:07):
strong exhortation to value andto respect ourself.
Leo is the lion of the zodiac.
It embodies the characteristicsof strength and dignity,
respect, pride, leadership, allowing ourselves to roar in
our own way and in our own time, and allowing ourselves to shine

(03:29):
.
Leo is connected to sun as theplanet, and so the sun is about
I am.
It's the self, and it is allabout finding our light and
finding the places that we glow, finding what lights us up and
allowing that to come through.
There's a lightness to thearchetype of Leo.
That really asks us to shakeoff some of the watery feels of

(03:52):
cancer season, to get out of thedeep part of the sea.
Cancer is about going into ouremotions and our intuition and
our psyche and our inner world.
And Leo says come on out to theshore, come, stand in the sun
and allow your light to shine.
It is a shift in energy fromwhere we've just been and it

(04:14):
invites us to be bold and tostep into the spotlight in our
lives and to believe inourselves and to trade
self-doubt, our questions ofself, our fears that we have and
instead just make bold steps inour life to align with the
essence of self-belief andself-confidence.

(04:35):
Leo is a beautiful sign to helpus fake it until we make it and
to find our ability to be moreaudacious and more courageous in
our own life.
The shadow side of Leo and, aswe've talked about, all
archetypes have both a lightside and a shadow side when

(04:56):
they're out of balance, and sothe shadow side of Leo can be
access.
Leos are renowned for likingbeautiful, luxurious, glittery
things.
I am not sure that that holdstrue for all leos, but I think
that royalty and that royallioness energy often brings in

(05:16):
the association of riches androyalty, and so leos have this
reputation for liking beautifulthings.
So excess can be a shadow sideof that.
Pride can be associated withLeo when it gets really out of
whack and having a lot of ego, elevating oneself above others,

(05:37):
roaring so loud that you forgetthat other people deserve to
roar too.
But, as we've talked about onyour Heart Magic so much, we're
not really focusing on theshadow of any archetype.
It's good to know that it'sthere and it's good to know that
all of us have tendenciestowards some of these shadow
qualities in any archetype thatwe're working with.

(05:58):
But we are really focusing onhow to bring the best of Leo,
the most balanced part of Leo,into our inner worlds and use
that to inspire us to live withmore greatness and more
confidence and more faith ofheart.
And, as that passage that I readsaid first value yourself.

(06:18):
And that is something that Leois excellent at doing when we're
working with this archetype.
It helps us value ourself.
It helps us find creativecourage and step into the
spotlight wherever we feelcalled in our life.
Leo asked us to look at wherewe feel we have gifts and

(06:38):
talents and abilities, wherewe've done our work, how we want
to show up in the world and tosee the value in that and to
believe that it's enough, thatwe don't have to prove anything,
we don't have to hustle for ourworth.
I can't imagine a lion runningaround and shouting I am the
best, look at me.

(06:58):
They just do their thing andknow their place and know their
divinity, know their nobility, know their strength, know their
prowess.
And we are invited to do thesame when we're truly embodying
whatever speaks to us, whateverour gifts, talents, whatever our
creative courage is, whatever'sin our heart.

(07:25):
We don't need to prove anything.
It just is and we can bringthat to the table and know that
it's enough and find ways tospotlight that in our life.
And sometimes we're called todo that in ways that we might be
asked to step out into thepublic eye or do something where
we are putting an offering outthere or speaking up in a way
that we are being seen.
It might happen in a quieterway for some of us and in a way

(07:50):
that we are just asked to takeownership of a gift or a talent
and take ownership of somethingand shift our mindset and start
seeing ourselves differently andcarrying ourselves differently
and holding ourselvesdifferently.
So there's a lot of ways thatthis essence can come through,
but there is a lot ofencouragement right now to think

(08:10):
about.
What are you creating in yourlife right now?
Where might you be called tospotlight your gifts or your
talents, your artistic ability, your inner nobility, your
strength, your dignity, yourcharacter, your creative courage
, and how are you being asked towork with that during Leo

(08:31):
season?
And what would a tangibleaction step be right now that
you could take?
Something else that Leo doesreally beautifully is.
It inspires us to tap into ourinner strength and our inner
nobility.
And, as we talked about Leos, don't run around hustling for
their worth.
That's like the prideful shadowstuff that is the Leo out of

(08:55):
balance and that's not reallyLeo and balance and the best of
the archetype, the best of thearchetype, is just knowing not
only that we are enough, butknowing that we have what we
need inside of us.
We have the creativity and thecourage of heart.
We have the life experience.
We have the inner strength tomove through whatever challenges

(09:17):
, whatever obstacles.
Strength to move throughwhatever challenges, whatever
obstacles, whatever is coming upin our path.
Leo invites us to hold ourselfwith dignity, to hold ourself
with nobility, to get in touchwith our soul sovereignty and to
get in touch with the innerdivinity inside of us and to see
ourselves through the eyes oflove, through the eyes of the

(09:37):
heart, and to really see thatspark of spirit, that spark of
the divine that each of us hasinside of ourselves, and to
acknowledge and rest verysoundly in our authenticity, our
right to be here, our innatebelonging, our creativity of
being and the essence of who weare, and again, to carry

(10:00):
ourselves in a way that we feelassured of our being and assured
of that nobility.
So Leo asked us to get a littlebit royal and to find ways to
bring that through in our life.
And that would be a really funjournaling prompt for Leo season
is how could you see yourselfthrough the eyes of nobility?

(10:21):
How could you be more royalthis month?
How could you be the king orthe queen or the princess or the
prince or whatever title youwant to put?
You could make up your owntitle in your own life.
You could have a lot of funwith this journaling prompt and
be playful in it, but also takeit seriously in the sense of how

(10:43):
are you being invited to carryyourself right now as a creature
of worth and a creature ofvalue, and what might that look
like?
And notice if you stand alittle straighter or sit a
little taller or breathe alittle bit easier, or where you
might feel that in your body.
When you think about beingnoble, when you think about

(11:03):
getting in touch with your innerstrength, what color represents
those things to you?
All of those are excellentprompts to work with that very
lioness energy.
Last, leo invites us to stepinto a leadership role in our
lives and into anything thatwe're being called to lead, and

(11:24):
so Leo asks us to find theplaces that we are being called
to speak up, to lead in somecapacity, to take ownership in a
bigger way and to step forwardwith boldness.
And this could be somethingwhere you are just going to take
the lead in your own life onsomething you've been trying to

(11:45):
shift or change.
This could be somethinginternal, where you are going to
step into a leadership role andself-organize in a way or move
a goal in your life forward andsee if you can move the needle a
little bit this month throughbeing a leader in your own life.
This might be something thatintersects with an opportunity

(12:06):
or something that you are askedto do or asked to step into, or
a role you've taken on, or a newtask that involves others, and
you want to step into thatarchetype of being the leader
and just see, if not me, thenwho?
So it might as well be me and Iam going to step confidently
into this, whether or not Ifully feel confident.

(12:30):
Most of the time when we arecalled to do something new, to
step into a role, we don't feelentirely confident, not unless
we're a veteran at it and we'vedone it many times before.
Even then, we can still gothrough feeling nervous or
having self-doubt, but most ofthe time when we are doing
something, we are asked to justbelieve in ourselves and believe

(12:52):
that if somebody else can dothis, I can do this too, and I
have to trust that I'll havewhat I need in the given moment
to rise to the occasion, and torise to the occasion of my own
life and my own greatness and myown strength and my nobility,
my gifts, my talents, mycreative heart and all of those

(13:12):
beautiful Leo qualities.
So I want to close today withone more passage from Small
Pearl's Big Wisdom, and this ispassage 14.
It is called so Noble andSignificant.
Noble and significant.
You have nothing to prove toanyone, no status quo to meet

(13:37):
and no responsibility towardsbeing what others think you
should be.
However, you do have aresponsibility to yourself to be
yourself.
You are the only one who canbecome an expert on your being.
You are the only one who cantake the reins of your change
and steer yourself in a newdirection or choose to find
contentment exactly where you'reat.
The choice is up to you.
The knowledge is yours.

(13:58):
To find your inner voice oftruth is something only you can
tap into.
This is your sacredresponsibility and
accountability.
This is the light you arecalled to understand and shine
in the world the untarnished, unvarnished, authentic act of
naming yourself, claimingyourself and then finding the

(14:20):
courage to be yourself.
And there is absolutely no oneexcept you who can accomplish so
noble and significant a task.
Thank you so much for joiningme on the podcast today.
I will be back next week withan all new episode.
In the meantime, happy Leoseason to everybody.
Have a beautiful week and, asalways, be well, be love, be you

(14:45):
and be magic.
