(01:12):
Welcome back to The YearMoney Your Life Podcast.
I'm your host, Aimee Cerka.
Today we are diving into money mindsetand how it impacts your financial success.
I. Today is gonna be more about layingthe foundation, what money mindset really
means, why it matters to your income, andhow you can start shifting it right now.
But I'm also gonna give you some simple,a simple, multiple simple trying to

(01:36):
remember practical action steps thatyou can take to start changing your
relationship with money immediately.
So what.
Is money mindset.
Money mindset is your thoughts, feelings and emotions around money.
That set of beliefs, the habitsthat you have, oftentimes
they're formed by very early age.

(01:56):
The experts kind of have somedis agreement here, but about
the age of seven, right?
We're influenced by experiences.
Family growing up, uh, culture, moviesthat we watch that is a big proponent.
Um.
Media, television, here,I'll give you an example.
So.

(02:18):
We've all heard the story, right?
We've all seen the movieChristmas Carol, right?
And Scrooge likes to, he's wealthy.
He has money, right?
But he holds onto it.
He doesn't share, obviouslythroughout the movie that
changes, but the perception that.
Rich people are evil.
Rich, rich people are selfish.
Those things is perpetratedthroughout culture, media influences.

(02:41):
Now, I'm not saying you need tohide in a box and never do anything,
but we need to be aware of it.
We need to work on our mindset aroundI. Money and be intentional with it
because we have been influenced andprogrammed by so many different things.
We're gonna take the intentionally, the we're gonna be intentional and

(03:02):
take our power back and really.
Be mindful of the way that wethink about money, the beliefs
that we have about money.
Okay?
Um, this, this really affectseverything, and we're gonna
kind of back up for a second.
So we've got our strategy, right?
That's like your step-by-step.
Those are the practical things that you'redoing, the action steps that you're doing.

(03:25):
Then we have the mindset, that's our beliefs and thought
patterns around money, right?
And then we have the energeticsand the emotional piece of it.
And that's more about who youare being less what you're doing.
So we can have the step-by-step strategy.
We can have a great money mindsetand the way that we believe about

(03:46):
money, but if we're not, if we stillhave the back voice in the back of
our head, like saying that's nottrue, that's the energetic piece.
Okay?
But we're gonna focus today aroundthe mindset and the mindset.
We really work on 'emall at the same time.
But the mindset feels like such a criticalpiece because we have to shift our belief.

(04:09):
If we don't believe that we can dothe strategy, we're not gonna do
the strategy if we don't believethat we are worthy to receive.
I. How can we work on the energeticpiece on being somebody who is
willing and able to receive money?
Okay, so some of the common moneymindset blocks that I hear, um,

(04:32):
I'm just not good with money.
You feel stuck in fear.
There is a lot of fear.
Right now in the world.
And there are so many peoplethat I'm seeing slide into
that fear of being stuck.
And I am not saying that you can'tbe passionate about things that are
going on in the world, but what areyou letting it do to your energy?

(04:55):
What are you doing?
What can you control?
What is your part?
And then we can also talk about likethe mindset piece of like looking
at both sides of the issue all.
We're not getting into that.
That's a whole nother topic.
I. Anybody can have thesemoney mindset beliefs.
It doesn't matter.
You can have $2 in your bank accountor $200,000 in your bank account.

(05:16):
We still have to work onthese beliefs in the mindset.
Okay?
The good news is it'sa skill and any skill.
Can be developed, right?
We can practice on this,we can work on this.
And again, I'm gonna give you in a minute,uh, as we get a little bit farther, I'm
gonna give you a couple exercises to helpshift the way that you feel around money.
Okay?

(05:37):
So again, even if we do the greatstrategies, if your mindset's not in the.
Right spot.
If it's not aligned, it'snot going to be sustainable.
This is, yeah.
Okay.
Let's go here.
A lot of times if we see a big incomejump, like you have an amazing launch,
you do something, you have a massiveincome jump, and then it falls back.

(05:58):
That's normally either a mindsetor an energetic issue, and mindset
kind of has to be at the forefronthere because again, it goes back to
your beliefs and the way that you.
The things that you believe andthings about you believe about
yourself really is energetic aswell, but again, mindset here.
The biggest thing that I see with ourmindset is we get so laser focused.

(06:24):
We don't believe thatthings can be different.
If you can commit to approachingsomething with an open mind, you
are going to see so much change.
We're going to get into, I thinkit's next week, probably one of the
biggest transformations that I see.
When it comes to your mindset and howwe approach money, 'cause we're gonna

(06:46):
talk about debt and all the guilt andshame that can come up around debt.
Okay?

Let's get into action steps.
Okay?
So the first thing, keep an open mind.
And even just by setting the intentionof like, I'm gonna keep an open mind
to what I might not know, what couldbe the next level that I could uncover.
You're going to see change there.

(07:29):
Practical, step by step, action step.
Let's work on our gratitude.
Gratitude is so powerful.
It really rewires your mind.
Like for abundance instead of lack, because we're focusing on the things
that we have, and I'm gonna giveyou a caveat here, a shift that I
want you to make on this exercise.
So don't tune me out because we'veprobably have all heard, like, you know,

(07:53):
write down what you're grateful for.
And yeah, that it doesn't work if wedon't do it in the correct manner.
Okay.
Focusing on the gratitude.
So every day for the next week, Iwant you to write down three things
that you're grateful for aboutyour money or your financial life.
It can be big things,it can be small things.
Maybe it's having a roof over your head.

(08:15):
It's raining outside.
So yes, we're thankful for that.
Maybe it's money that you receive.
Side note, you should always doa little gratitude, celebration
when you receive money.
Doesn't matter what it is.
Um, I have a tech system setup on my phone when money
comes in through the business.
But hey, when I receive the childsupport, I'm still doing this
exercise because we're stillreceiving, we're still in gratitude.

(08:38):
Okay.
Um, having a paycheck or maybe, and thistakes growth, this is one of the things
we talk about, even like with the debt.
What is a lesson that you've workedlearned from a mistake or a choice
that you feel like it's a mistake now?
'cause I really don't thinkit's a mistake financially.

(08:59):
That person that youwere with, that uh, okay.
Maybe not.
What's the lesson thatyou learned from that?
Can you be grateful for that?
Can you show up in gratitude for that?
We're keeping it simple.
We're just working on being consistentand it's like a base practice.
We're changing our, our vibration, our vibrational frequency about

(09:21):
where we're at with money.
If you can show up in gratitude, youcan receive, and we're gonna get into
more of the receiving and probablyone of the biggest problems I see
with entrepreneurs and receivinghere in the next couple weeks.
Like I said, I think we're doingdebt next week, so maybe it's in
two weeks that we're gonna talkabout the receiving portion.
But here's the thing.

(09:42):
I don't want this gratitude exerciseto just become a thing on your to-do
list, because then we just do itquick, get it over with so I can get
the check mark and the dopamine hitcomes from, Hey, I got the check mark.
Hey, I did it.
I did all the things on myto-do list instead of being
intentional and sitting with it.

(10:03):
I was having a conversation theother day with somebody on LinkedIn.
They were like, what are your.
Self-care.
I'm trying to remember how she worded it.
What are your dailypractices for self-care?
It's like, well, I don't know thatI really have any, I have a list
of things that I like to do forself-care, but do I make myself do every
single one of them every single day?

(10:23):
Not necessarily, because then forme, I know myself, it'll become
about getting the dang check mark.
I won't be intentional andpresent in the exercise.
So when we do the gratitudeexercise, I want you to truly
sit with it and be grateful.
Pick things that you are grateful.

(10:45):
Don't do the same things every single day.
Sure, you can have some things repeat, but I want only want you to be intentional
and sit with it as opposed to, Hey,this is just a thing I need to get done.
Boom, boom, boom.
Check done onto the next.
Do you feel the difference there?
Like we need to sit withit and truly be grateful.
Feel the gratitude for your life.

(11:07):
What is it like?
Look around.
What are the things that you'regrateful for in your life?
Is it the loved onesthat you're sitting with?
Is it sitting on when you're sittingon the couch tonight watching tv?
Can you be thankful for those around you?
Like sit and truly feel present with it.
That's what makes the gratitudepractice so powerful when we're truly

(11:28):
sitting with those feelings, thoseemotions with it, as opposed to just.
Making it another thing thatwe're doing on our to-do list.
Okay, this is just the beginning'cause I'm gonna do a deep dive here
in mindset and some tools and someshifts in the next coming episodes.
I wanna hear though, what is one beliefaround money that you do wanna shift

(11:52):
send me a message on Instagram atAimee Cerka link is in the show notes
Below, I wanna hear what's the onebelief around about money that you want
to shift, and maybe we'll highlightit in some of the next upcoming
episodes as we talk about mindset.
Remember, this is a journey.
You're already unstoppable.
You've got this.

(12:13):
We're just looking at one step at atime and every step forward counts.
We're gonna start practicingour gratitude, right?
Your action step is to make the gratitudelist three things every single day,
but we're gonna sit and be intentionalwith it, sitting with gratitude, and
being intentional instead of justmaking it an item on the to-do list.

(12:36):
Next time we're gonna tackle how to stopfeeling guilty about debt and how to
start moving forward with confidence.

in a way that actually sticks, thenyou need the money mindset playbook.
