Folge 1/2 - Im November 1992 will die erfolgreiche Börsenhändlerin Annette Herfkens ihren langjährigen Freund Pasje in Vietnam besuchen. Die beiden waren monatelang getrennt, da Pasje in Ho-Chi-Minh-Stadt damit beschäftigt ist, zwei Banken aufzubauen soll. Dementsprechend groß ist die Freude auf das Wiedersehen. Um das gebührend zu feiern, wollen die beiden ein paar romantische Tage an der vietnamesischen Küste verbringen. Doch auf dem Flug dorthin gerät das betagte Flugzeug in heftige Turbulenzen und stürzt in den Bergen ab. Alle Passagiere kommen ums Leben – alle außer Annette Herfkens.
