Статус українських адвокатів, які продовжили адвокатську діяльність в умовах окупації, достатньо контроверсійна тема. Хтось вважає таких адвокатів зрадниками, колаборантами, які порушили адвокатську присягу і своєю діяльністю допомагають окупантам створювати видимість законності на захоплених територіях, а хтось говорить про важливість і необхідність такої роботи — захищати наших громадян навіть на умовах, які продиктовані окупаційною владою.
Під час спільної дискусії JustTalk та АО «Назар Кульчицький та Партнери» обговорили роль адвокатів на ТОТ в захисті прав громадян, зокрема, в міжнародних інстанціях; політику держави в цій сфері; статус адвокатів на ТОТ відповідно до міжнародного гуманітарного права; міжнародні стандарти роботи адвокатів і рекомендації, що можуть бути застосовані в реаліях окупації.
