У проповіді звучить головна істина зі слів Господа: «Я навіки живий!» (Повторення Закону 32:40). Вона нагадує нам, що смерть - не кінець. Бог називає Себе Богом Авраама, Ісака і Якова навіть тоді, коли їхні тіла вже давно були поховані. Це означає: для Нього вони живі, бо душа продовжує існувати.
Проповідь простежує, як Святе Письмо описує смерть віруючих - вони «прилучаються до своєї рідні». Це не кінець, а перехід у життя з Богом. Приклади Еноха й Іллі показують, що Господь дає Своїм дітям перемогу над смертю. Пророки Ісая, Даніїл і Осія ще задовго до приходу Христа проголошували: буде воскресіння, буде нове життя, буде нове небо і нова земля.
Центр надії - Христос. Він, наш Викупитель, Своєю смертю і воскресінням відкрив шлях у дім Отця. Через Нього Бог не бачить нас у гріхах, а оголошує виправданими і праведними. Тому ми не випадкові істоти, а Божі діти і спадкоємці вічності.
Це слово про те, що наш Бог живий, і життя з Ним сильніше за смерть. Христос - Той, Хто пройшов темною долиною і тримає нас за руку сьогодні, завтра й у вічності.
