Він каже: «Христос для волі нас визволив, тож стійте та не піддавайтеся знову в ярмо рабства».
Проповідь розкриває глибину цих слів. Павло нагадує галатам, що жодні людські діла чи виконання закону не здатні дати спасіння. Лише Христос, Його життя і смерть замість нас, відкривають шлях до виправдання. Бог проголошує грішника невинним і дарує справжню свободу — свободу від гріха, від страху смерті, від намагання самому заслужити прихильність Бога.
Ця свобода не є абстрактною і не зводиться лише до філософії чи політики. Вона дієва. Христос увійшов у наш світ, узяв на Себе наш гріх, відбув вирок замість нас і дарував нове життя. Він зробив нас вільними не для безмежної сваволі, а для учнівства, для життя у вірі, любові й добрих справах, які тепер можемо віддавати іншим.
Це проповідь про свободу, що ніколи не минає. Свободу, яку дарує тільки Христос. І тому ми чуємо заклик: стіймо у цій свободі й не повертаймося знову в ярмо рабства.
