همه چیز با یه تماس شروع شد. عصر یکی از روزهای مرداد سال ۱۳۷۰، یه مامور پلیس وارد خونه‌ای تو حومه‌ی سورِن پاریس شد. خبری از بختیار نبود. آخرین نخست‌وزیر شاه، مردی که روزی روی صندلی قدرت نشسته بود، چند روزی می‌شد که تلفن هاش بی‌جواب مونده بود. وقتی در رو شکستن، صحنه وحشتناکی دیدن. دو جنازه، یکی‌ش سلاخی شده افتاده بودن کف خونه. اولی بختیار بود؛ اون یکی دستیار وفادارش، سروش کتیبه. گلو و رگای دستایِ بختیار رو بریده بودن و بوی تعفن شدید، هوا رو سنگین کرده بود. جنازه ها، تو گرمای تابستون اون سال باد کرده بودن. و این، پایان قصه‌ی مردی بود که درست وسط انقلاب ایستاده بود، وقتی که همه داشتن فرار می‌کردن… .
