درست در همین روزها که دستیابی به ۶ میلیارد دلار بلوکه شده در بانک‌های قطری برای ایران در حد رویا و آرزوست، کشور میزبان این ۶ میلیارد دلار، توافق هایی به ارزش ۲۴۳ میلیارد دلار با شرکت‌ها و موسسات آمریکایی امضا کرد.
ارزش توافق‌نامه‌هایی که رئیس‌جمهوری ایالات متحده آمریکا در جریان سفر خود با سه کشور عربی منطقه خلیج فارس امضا کرد بالغ بر ۱/۴ تریلیون دلار می‌شود. علاوه بر رقم قابل توجه این توافقات، تنوع حوزه‌ها و بخش‌های مختلفی که موضوع این توافقات و قراردادها بودند نیز در نوع خود بی‌سابقه بود.
در میان این سفر پر زرق و برق اما، سهم ایرانیان حسرت بود، حسرت از اینکه این توافقات و این اتفاقات به طور بالقوه می‌توانستند در جغرافیای ایران رقم بخورند. اقلیم مناسب‌تر به لحاظ تنوع آب و هوا، دارا بودن جمعیت باسواد و دیگر مزیت‌های ذاتی و ژئوپلیتیکی ایران بدون موانع سیاسی، به طور منطقی می‌توانست ایران را میزبان این تحولات کند.
