行星酒馆开播以来，聊了许多关于迁徙、定居的话题，但这些流动往往是物理意义上的。可是，在文化和身份上，我们什么时候变成为了一个生存在「中间」的人呢？
这个问题难就难在，它突然就变成了一个人类学的问题。
今天的对谈，非常机缘巧合地聊到了这个话题。而就像很多人类学命题一样，也许横看成岭侧成峰，但它的答案，是「浮现」在田野里面的。
这个田野，就在纽约中国城和下东区交界处的一家精品店里面。

如果过去的七八年，你曾经在曼哈顿下城晃荡的话，你可能会留意到一家有点不一样的精品店+画廊，叫做「杂碎俱乐部 Chop Suey Club」。
店如其名，而名则如那道歪打正着的美式中餐，主打一个又「杂」又「碎」：你可在这里找到高山流水，譬如王家卫重庆森林35mm当年放映的电影胶片，和当代中国艺术家的艺术作品，也能找到从对联，筷子、年历甚至是内衣和玩具等小东西。
它先在曼哈顿的设计师、艺术家圈子里面受到注意，而疫情中，杂碎则转型办起了活动，也慢慢进入了美国主流媒体的视野。它的受众，也逐渐扩展到了年轻的亚裔和非亚裔的美国人，以及刚来美国的第一代移民和留学生。
在每个一二代移民都在纠结于「身份」「融入」「妥协」与「委屈」的旅途中，这家精品店，不知为什么，在过去的十年之间，找到了一个微妙的节点，悄悄地打通了几个隔阂很深的世界。
几个月前，杂碎在中国城的实体店结束了运营。但是借着这个契机，我找到了创始人Ruoyi, 来记录一下这个很多不同世界的人们，过去快十年的集体回忆。
