作為選舉年的2024年接近尾聲，本年全球經濟與政治環境充滿動盪，經濟面臨增長放緩、地緣政治風險加劇。無論國際市場的利率與匯率走勢，抑或香港經濟的結構性問題，今集《財經自由講》回顧本年度的財經大事。
回望本年初利率高企，市場各界均看好美聯儲會進行減息，為香港樓市、經濟帶來希望，然而願景要等到第三季才出現。同時間，美元持續強勢打擊全球主要貨幣的競爭力，特別是對港元及人民幣的壓力顯著。另一邊廂，本年中全球不同股市經歷數次跌幅，臨近年尾，美股更出現1978年以來最長跌幅。
香港方面，本地經濟增長陷入疲態，港府對2024年本港GDP預測僅維持2.5-3.5%。財政赤字深淵更在年尾成為焦點，全年赤字突破1000億港元，然而問責官員在財赤下仍加薪，港府在解決財政赤字上束手無策。
最後《財經自由講》主持選了「需求不足」作為2024年的關鍵詞，從零售業到整體經濟，需求不足暴露出價格僵化和政策應對滯後的問題。2024年的好日子，如同在巨浪中掙扎存活下來。
