美國政界對香港政治審判的不滿，很快會反映在對香港的整體政策，甚至經濟封鎖上。事實上，1月20日上任的特朗普，其內閣成員多是「反華急先鋒」，這些政治事件，正好給他們充足的輿論基礎，而首當其衝的，正是香港的聯匯制度。即使美國政府不動手，以現時香港的財政狀況，維持聯匯已感到相當乏力，北京金融精英應已看到這一點，正在作出部署。
